Trump Appeals Ruling Ordering Depositions in New York AG Letitia James’ Witch Hunt Investigation

State Judge Arthur Engoron ruled a couple weeks ago that former President Trump and his two children, Ivanka and Don Jr., must testify in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into Trump’s business practices.

Attorneys for former President Donald Trump have appealed a ruling that he and his two eldest children must testify in the investigation by the New York state attorney general into the family’s business practices.

Trump’s attorneys filed the notice of appeal on Monday, nearly two weeks after a New York judge ruled on Feb 17 that the three Trumps must sit for depositions within 21 days.

The Trump family had unsuccessfully tried to quash the subpoena for testimony, arguing that it was improper for the attorney general’s office to issue subpoenas for its civil investigation while the Manhattan district attorney’s office is still conducting its separate criminal probe.

Judge Arthur Engoron of the New York State Supreme Court rejected that argument.

🙶 “This argument completely misses the mark,” Engoron wrote in his decision. “Neither OAG nor the Manhattan District Attorney’s office has subpoenaed the New Trump Respondents to appear before a grand jury, The New Trump Respondents’ argument overlooks the salient fact that they have an absolute right to refuse to answer questions that they claim may incriminate them.”

In December New York Attorney General Letitia James subpoenaed Don Jr., and Ivanka Trump as part of a civil fraud probe into whether the Trump Organization inflated values of some of its properties.

Letitia James has been harassing Trump and his family…just as she promised.

The Letitia James woman appears quite full of hate and I have to guess for many people. Any decent judge would not allow her to play games, based upon her intent to persecute President Trump as shown by video. Seven long years, they have been after him and not one shred of evidence. Yet here we are with the fraud in the White House trashing our country, watching the price of our food, fuel, taxes, everything continuing to soar to unsustainable heights.

The video alone should have AG Letitia James removed from the case. She is very unimpressive at least to normal thinking humans. It is the extreme left and racist individuals that are helping destroy our country. She is supposed to be conducting a probe. I say, let her charge him with something, and then present the evidence, not look into everything he has worked on over his long career and make up a bogus charge from nothing.

First Charges Filed In U.S. Special Counsel's Russia Investigation
Reuters -- (WASHINGTON, Oct 27) – A federal grand jury on Friday approved the first charges in the investigation into alleged Russian meddling in the 2016 U.S. presidential election, a source briefed on the matter told Reuters.

The indictment was sealed under orders from a federal judge so it was not clear what the charges were or who the target was, the source said, adding that it could be unsealed as early as Monday.

The filing of charges by the grand jury in Washington was first reported on Friday by CNN, which said the target could be taken into custody as soon as Monday.

U.S. intelligence agencies concluded in January that Russia interfered in the election to try to help President Donald Trump defeat Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton through a campaign of hacking and releasing embarrassing emails, and disseminating propaganda via social media to discredit her campaign.

Special counsel Robert Mueller, a former director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, is investigating whether Trump campaign officials colluded with those Russian efforts.

“If the Special Counsel finds it necessary and appropriate, the Special Counsel is authorized to prosecute federal crimes arising from the investigation of these matters,” Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said in a May 17 letter appointing Mueller.

Sources familiar with Mueller’s investigation said he has used that broad authority to investigate links between Trump aides and foreign governments as well as possible money laundering, tax evasion and other financial crimes.

Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller, declined to comment on Friday.

Trump, a Republican who was elected president last November, has denied allegations that his campaign colluded with Russians and condemned investigations into the matter as “a witch hunt”.

Wall Street Journal Editorial Board Calls On
Robert Mueller To Resign From Russia Probe
Breitbart -- The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board called Thursday for FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller to step down from his role in investigating alleged Russian interference in the 2016 election, saying that he lacks the “critical distance” to analyze recent revelations about the FBI’s role in the saga.

“It is no slur against Mr. Mueller’s integrity to say that he lacks the critical distance to conduct a credible probe of the bureau he ran for a dozen years,” the Journal’s editorial board wrote. “He could best serve the country by resigning to prevent further political turmoil over that conflict of interest.”

The board was writing in response to recent reports that suggest the FBI uncovered evidence of the Russian bribery and money laundering in the U.S. ahead of a 2010 decision by the Obama administration to greenlight the partial sale of the Canadian firm Uranium One to Russian energy giant Rosatom. The deal transferred control of 20 percent of U.S. uranium stocks to the Russians.

Government Accountability Institute (GAI) President and Breitbart News Senior Editor-at-Large Peter Schweizer broke the Uranium One scandal in his book Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich. He reported that Clinton’s State Department, along with other federal agencies, approved the transfer of 20 percent of all U.S. uranium to Russia and that nine foreign investors in the deal gave $145 million to the Clinton Foundation.

But the controversy re-emerged last week after the Hill reported that the FBI uncovered “substantial evidence that Russian nuclear industry officials were engaged in bribery, kickbacks, extortion and money laundering” to expand Russia’s nuclear footprint in the U.S. as early as 2009, but the Justice Department did not inform Congress and the public, and did not act on the information until 2014, after the sale was completed.

The FBI also reportedly found evidence that Russian officials routed “millions of dollars” to the U.S. to be funneled into the Clinton Foundation — at a time when Hillary Clinton was serving as secretary of state and served on the government body that approved the deal.

Additionally, the Washington Post reported this week that the Democratic National Committee and Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign funded Fusion GPS as it put together the so-called “Trump dossier,” a dossier of mostly uncorroborated accusations against Trump, many of which the Journal notes are based largely on Kremlin-connected sources. This raises the possibility that Democrats funded a Moscow-pushed misinformation campaign against Trump.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's Goal, Is To Damage Trump's Presidency And Help Remove Him From Office

The appointment of Robert Mueller as special counsel was met with commendation and applause from numerous people on both sides of the aisle. Mueller was supposed to be a man of unimpeachable character and unvarnished integrity, and we were sure to have an unbiased investigation of alleged Russian interference in the U.S. election. This has not happened because Mueller and his team of leftist lawyers are and always have been on a political witch-hunt to find some kind of crime that will begin to take the Trump presidency down.

As a Republican and supporter of the President, I listened to some political people that I have respected over the years, such as former Speaker Newt Gingrich. He initially saw this as an opportunity to silence the left’s fake accusations of Trump campaign collusion with the Russians. But, this has not happened.

For months, the Democrats along with the mainstream media have engaged in sinister, evidence-free accusations. Yet when pressed for evidence of collusion, Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein replied, “There are all kinds of rumors around, there are newspaper stories, but that’s not necessarily evidence.”

Then came the special counsel – an opportunity to end partisan finger-pointing and produce an evidence-based outcome that Democrats would be forced to accept. We were told that Mueller was known, not only as an attorney and former FBI Director with sterling credentials, but as someone who worked swiftly and produced answers rapidly. As a veteran with a long and successful career, we were also told he would be uninterested in launching a probe to produce something, anything to help him damage the presidency of Donald Trump. Or make a name for himself among the liberal elites and Democrats and leftist media.

Then came the warning signs of a witch hunt. Mueller hired a gang of partisan lawyers. Three of Mueller’s first hired attorneys gave $53,000 to Democrats since 1988.

The recruitment of so many Democratic attorneys led Gingrich to ask a fair question: are there no Republicans in the profession?

While lawyers are of course required to cover their decision-making from their political leanings, Mueller should have aimed to appoint an evenly divided staff if for no other reason than for show. In a highly charged partisan environment, perhaps the most divided we have seen, and with a society that is deeply distrustful of institutions and lawyers in general, a special counsel staff with a fair mix of both Republicans and Democrats would lend much-needed credibility to a staff that many of us view with doubtfulness and uncertainty.

It is my belief that the Mueller 'gang' is definitely out to burn President Trump as badly as they can. He is already making President Trump's ex-campaign chair Paul Manafort's life miserable, even though Manafort was cooperating with Mueller. Mueller had the feds raid his home at night, do a search, and leave with who knows what documents they took? My belief is that the special counsel is trying to pressure Manafort to come up with something that he could convey to Mueller that would hurt the president.

It is my contention that because Mueller and fired FBI Director Comey are very close friends - he intends to make President Trump pay for ousting Comey - even though Comey did deserve to go because of the way he mishandled the Hillary Clinton, Russian collusion case and the mistrust he showed about the president. Robert Mueller is a never Trumper.

In any event, a special investigation that many hoped would be one of the few trustworthy institutions in Washington is instead shaping up to be a genuine and very dishonest fishing expedition — one that the American people will hopefully recognize and reject.

And now special counsel Robert Mueller is seeking to interview former White House chief of staff Reince Priebus as a part of an ever widening investigation into the Trump administration.

According to the New York Times, Mueller’s office is currently in contact with the White House about interviewing former and current senior staff at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

"Mueller is looking to speak to officials who may provide information, transcripts, notes and testimony on a number of issues, including insight on President Donald Trump’s decision to fire former FBI Director James Comey in May. The discussions may prove crucial as Mueller continues to investigate whether Trump obstructed justice in firing Comey."

The firing of James Comey is not relevant to the Russia probe. Plus, it was within the president's power to fire him. So it certainly looks to me that this is what the Mueller gang has made it about, Mueller's desire to spend untold government funds, and hire whomever he wants, to teach our president a lesson because he fired his buddy Comey. We were supposed to receive from Mueller, an unbiased investigation of alleged Russian interference in the U.S. election - period!

Reports: Trump Team Looks To Fight Back Against Mueller's Overreach In Russia Probe

Breitbart -- President Trump’s team is reportedly looking at ways to push back against an apparently overzealous FBI special prosecutor Robert Mueller’s investigation into possible Russian interference in the 2016 election — putting together a case of Mueller’s team’s alleged conflicts of interest.

The New York Times reported late Thursday that the Trump team is engaging in what the paper called a “wide-ranging” search for potential conflicts, including donations from members of Mueller’s team to Democratic candidates, past clients, as well as Mueller’s relationship to fired former FBI Director James Comey.

Trump had hinted at such a tactic when he told the Times in an interview Wednesday that he believed there were conflicts of interests in Mueller’s team, and that he would make that information available soon.

In the same interview, he took a swipe at Mueller by saying that a day before Mueller was appointed special prosecutor, Trump had interviewed him as a potential replacement for Comey.

“He was sitting in that chair,” Trump said. “He was up here, and he wanted the job.”

In particular, the White House has expressed concern about Mueller going outside the scope of his investigation, particularly into the area of Trump’s finances. Trump himself expressed this concern to the Times: “I think that’s a violation. Look, this is about Russia.”

The Washington Post reported that Trump has been “fuming” about the possibilities of the probe asking questions about his deal-making before he was a candidate, and that was “especially disturbed” when he was told that Mueller would have access to several years of tax returns.

“If you’re looking at Russian collusion, the president’s tax returns would be outside that investigation,” a close adviser to the president told the Post.

Should Mueller dip into areas that are perceived as outside the scope of his investigation, it seems that Trump’s team are ready to fight back, by focusing on conflicts of interest.[...]

The Times reported Friday that Mueller’s team has requested IRS-related documents related to Trump’s former campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, from an investigation that was opened long before Trump’s campaign, and from which Manafort was never charged.

Trump has also reportedly discussed his authority to grant pardons in connection to the probe, although officials told the Post that he was only being curious about his authority.

“This is not in the context of, ‘I can’t wait to pardon myself,’” a close adviser told the paper.

Mueller’s relationship with former FBI Director James Comey along with him building a team of pro-Hillary Clinton investigators simply cannot be ignored. Reuters is now reporting that two anonymous sources (no surprise there), say investigators are plotting to flip Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort to use as leverage against President Trump.

Robert Mueller cannot be trusted. According to former Speaker Newt Gingrich, who told Fox News Friday that the Special Counsel’s law firm made 99.81% of its presidential campaign contributions to Hillary Clinton. And we have been told by a few GOP conservatives in the Senate that Mueller is an 'honorable man' which is complete and total bull and nonsense. Also from Newt Gingrich: “The Mueller investigation has so many conflicts of interest, it’s almost an absurdity. The people he has been hiring are all anti-Trump lawyers, several of them have very bad records of hiding information from the defense and one case was rebuked by the Supreme Court in a 9-0 vote. It’s hard to understand why he would assemble such a team unless it was a deliberate effort to go after the President and the President’s team.”

This fishing expedition will guarantee that people in the heartland and those paying attention will never vote for the left again. They have over reached and do not understand the mood of the country. I realize that President Trump and his lawyers would have to jump through hoops to fire Mueller and end this absurd 'investigation' but do it. What does the president and the GOP have to lose? The left and the 'fake news' media already believe that Trump stole the election with help from the Russians. Robert Mueller and team have turned up nothing, and all he is doing is nothing more than opposition research, they'll leak inside information about the Trump family and finances to try and spoil and harm the Republicans campaign for the 2020 election.
