President Trump Vows To 'Never' Repeal The Second Amendment

President Donald Trump vowed Wednesday to “never” repeal the Second Amendment after former Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens advocated for repeal in a recent New York Times op-ed.

“No way,” Trump wrote on Twitter. “We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court.”

President Trump's Tweet: THE SECOND AMENDMENT WILL NEVER BE REPEALED! As much as Democrats would like to see this happen, and despite the words yesterday of former Supreme Court Justice Stevens, NO WAY. We need more Republicans in 2018 and must ALWAYS hold the Supreme Court!
9:52 AM - Mar 28, 2018

Stevens, who retired from the Supreme Court in 2010, advocated for repeal in his op-ed, saying such action “would eliminate the only legal rule that protects sellers of firearms in the United States — unlike every other market in the world.”

“It would make our schoolchildren safer than they have been since 2008 and honor the memories of the many, indeed far too many, victims of recent gun violence.”

Stevens’ comments followed a gathering in Washington, DC led by students advocating for gun control who survived the February school shooting in Parkland, Florida. The gathering largely featured attendees who advocated full repeal of the Second Amendment.

Blog Author's Comments: This latest ‘debate’ is yet another very important reason for the current Republican members of Congress to use their time in power wisely. Many have not received this message or taken it seriously yet, and many of them never will. A very important reason, if possible, to vote them out of office. I don't believe I want to be here when countless numbers of the younger people, who have not lived long enough to learn the lesson of life, if they ever will, attempt to tell us how they think our Constitution should read.

One good thing coming from the latest gun debates and marches, the Communist, democrats, brain-washed progressives, are not even attempting to hide their true agenda. Their actual intentions are the disarming of the populous. Many gun control enthusiasts really believe the insanity they spout. They may believe themselves to be well-meaning but are misguided at best.

That said, the higher up in the movement they are, the less well-meaning they are. Michael Bloomberg no more believes that BS about wanting to save lives than I believe him. No one on the Left can tell you what "common sense" gun control is, just one more piece of evidence in their path to seek gun confiscation. Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens was supposedly a Republican, but was considered liberal in his judicial rulings. It appears he is now suffering from dementia.

75-Year-Old Detroit Man Delivers The Taxpayer Relief Shot

Washington Free Beacon -- A 75-year-old Detroit man is alive, one suspected intruder is dead, and another is at large after a home invasion on Friday.

The man told police that he heard a noise at his home’s back door around 3 a.m. on Friday. Two men broke an exterior window to gain access to the home and then used a crowbar to break into an interior door. When the homeowner went to investigate he found the two men standing in his kitchen.

“He ended up firing two shots, striking one of the suspects,” Officer Dan Donakowski told the Detroit News. “Both suspects attempted to flee on foot, but the one that was hit collapsed in the backyard and was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Police said the suspects in the break-in were between the ages of 16 and 18 but did not release the identity of anyone involved in the ordeal. One community leader described the homeowner’s actions as a justifiable case of self-defense.

“These two young males presented imminent danger and the homeowner protected himself,” the local community security chairman told ABC affiliate WXYZ. “There’s no reason for anyone to violate the rights of senior citizens, women, children and try to break into a home.”

Police said the homeowner was cooperating with their investigation and they don’t plan to file any charges.
Blog Author's Comments -- I say good for the home owner who did what he should do. The 'suspects' were between 16 and 18, and it was 3 AM. If the parents can be found, charge them as accomplices. To the wannabe thugs out there, never presume that the old guy you see working in his yard is an easy mark. He may have been a combat vet in his younger days or a life long hunter and firearms marksman and a genuine bad ass.

Today, he may not be as fast as he once was, he may not see as well as he could but he still has a very devious mind. He knows his way around his home in pitch dark. He knows the sounds his house makes and knows the smell of someone who is not supposed to be there. Trust me, wannabe thug, you do not want to raise that old guys ire. He can kill you and you will never see him. The column stated that: “There’s no reason for anyone to violate the rights of senior citizens, women, children and try to break into a home.” What? It should have been written as "There's no reason for anyone to violate the rights of ANYONE and try to break into a home."

I am more than glad that we now have Donald Trump as our next president for 4-8 years, and he will be able to put Justices on the Supreme Court who should judge according to the Constitution. That means one of the very important rights we now have, which is the right to bear arms will remain a right, and many people now have their concealed carry permit. If Hillary Clinton had been elected this is one right that may have been changed within the coming years.

Number One With A Bullet

Your Second Amendment

Blog Author's Comments - With roughly two years left in the Obama presidency there are still many items which he still wants to accomplish with his plan for the ‘fundamental transformation’ of America. One item that we can be sure is on his agenda is more gun control laws. Obama has lied about not doing anything which would infringe on our Second Amendment rights. I don’t believe anything he says.

He and his administration will do as much as they can and they do not care what the majority of the American people want. Only the National Rifle Association is fighting for the Second Amendment. Obama will use more executive orders and ignore our Constitution and Second Amendment. Most of us should know that more gun control laws will have little, if any, affect on the criminals. They don’t care how many new gun control laws are put in place. More laws will only hurt the law abiding gun owners.

Senators Who Voted To Give Your Second Amendment Rights To The UN

Wizbang -- Would you like to meet the Democrats that voted to destroy your Second Amendment rights? Would you like to meet those traitorous Senators that voted to give the power over your rights to the United Nations?

Fortunately, the odious, anti-American treaty was again voted down by the full Senate, but 46 Senators voted in favor of handing over our Constitutional rights to the UN.

Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) offered Amendment 139 that was passed with a 53 to 46 vote. His Amendment contained language to affirm that foreign treaties would not trump the U.S. Constitution.

“Mr. President,” Inhofe said on the floor of the Senate, “I want to make sure that everyone understands what the United Nations trade treaty is. The trade treaty is a treaty that cedes our authority to have trade agreements with our allies in terms of trading arms.”

He went on to say, “I want to very briefly read this so nobody over there or over here misunderstands what this amendment does. This is right out of the amendment. Uphold the Second Amendment rights, that is one thing. And secondly, prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations arms trade treaties.”

But many Democrats simply didn’t agree with Inhofe’s insistence that the U.S. Constitution trump the UN.

Below is the list of Democrats that voted against the amendment and in favor of the UN being given the power to overturn the U.S. Constitution.

Blog author's comments - These 46 Democrat Senators voted to give our Second Amendment rights to the UN. Thankfully the 'treaty' was voted down by the full Senate. What bothers me is why would any sane American want to allow the UN to have any power at all over us?

Gun Owners and Gun Vendors Take A Stand

NRA (By Wayne LaPierre) -- Across this nation, gun stores are virtually empty. There is simply no ammunition to be had. Backorders are running into the late Fall or next year, or maybe never. Gun sales are higher than at any time in history: more than one million in one month. And first-time gun buyers are exercising their right to keep and bear arms in unprecedented numbers.

All of this adds up to a massive civil rights protest the likes of which America has not seen before.

It is political spontaneous combustion. And I guarantee what we are seeing at the cash box will be repeated at the ballot box in 2014 if Congress votes for any gun control.

In all my years fighting the battle to preserve the Second Amendment, I have never seen a mass protest of this magnitude. As Americans learn more about the threat to their rights and freedom, it will continue to grow.

Politicians had better wake up to what it means for them in every corner of the nation. The men and women exercising freedom in this consumer-driven protest cross every personal political boundary and represent every walk of life.

And, yes, they are motivated by a palpable and very well-founded fear of what President Barack Obama’s government and the likes of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein and self-appointed gun-ban nanny, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, have in store for free, peaceable Americans.

Feinstein has introduced a presumptive ban on virtually all semi-auto rifles and shotguns with detachable magazines.

The New York law passed and pushed by Gov. Cuomo is worse. The news media called Cuomo’s massive ban “a good first step.” That’s what they will say about his next step. “Confiscation is not off the table,” he bragged.

Bloomberg is bankrolling huge propaganda efforts to convince Americans that he loves the Second Amendment while disarming law-abiding citizens across the nation. Even Bloomberg admits none of these laws would have prevented the massacre at Sandy Hook because, “there are too many guns.” He says he doesn’t want guns in schools carried by cops or trained guards. He doesn’t even want NYPD cops to take their guns home.

And Barack Obama is the worst. His administration promised “revenge” and he is delivering it—for starters in the form of 23 “executive” sneak attacks on our freedom—actions he claims have the force of laws. Orders so bad, they would never clear any Congress.

This is what is driving the consumer civil rights protest.

Blog author's comments - Many gun owners knew that an Obama second term would bring an attack on their Second Amendment rights. After the election came the tragic killings at the Sandy Hook School in Newtown, Connecticut. This gave Obama and the Democrats, with help from the leftist media, the opportunity they wanted to wage an attack on the Second Amendment and the attempt to pass new gun control laws. We shall see what the Senate and the House does with the gun control bills which they will soon vote on. No matter how the Senators and House Representatives vote there will always be an ongoing battle for legal gun owners to retain their rights.

Poll: 65% See Gun Rights As Protection Against Tyranny

Rasmussen -- Two-out-of-three Americans recognize that their constitutional right to own a gun was intended to ensure their freedom.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 65% of American Adults think the purpose of the Second Amendment is to make sure that people are able to protect themselves from tyranny. Only 17% disagree, while another 18% are not sure.
Blog author's comments - Isn't this what the founding fathers had in mind when they wrote the Second Amendment? How do we compare this poll with the election results? Obviously the majority of the voters were not concerned about their Second Amendment rights when they voted for Barack Obama as president for a second term. Perhaps some of the low-information voters would have voted differently if they knew what Obama has in store for the country the next four years.

Five Facts About Guns, Schools, And Violence

Reason Magazine -- In the wake of December’s horrific mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, Vice President Joe Biden is chairing a panel of experts that will make gun-control recommendations to President Barack Obama by the end of the month. The president has said that enacting new restrictions on guns will be one of his highest priorities.

1. Violent crime – including violent crime using guns – has dropped massively over the past 20 years.

The violent crime rate - which includes murder, rape, and beatings – is half of what it was in the early 1990s. And the violent crime rate involving the use of weapons has also declined at a similar pace.

2. Mass shootings have not increased in recent years.

Despite terrifying events like Sandy Hook or last summer’s theater shooting in Aurora, Colorado, mass shootings are not becoming more frequent.“There is no pattern, there is no increase,” says criminologist James Allen Fox of Northeastern University, who studies the issue. Other data shows that mass killings peaked in 1929.

3. Schools are getting safer.

Across the board, schools are less dangerous than they used to be. Over the past 20 years, the rate of theft per 1,000 students dropped from 101 to 18. For violent crime, the victimization rate per 1,000 students dropped from 53 to 14.

4. There Are More Guns in Circulation Than Ever Before.

Over the past 20 years, virtually every state in the country has liberalized gunownership rules and many states have expanded concealed carry laws that allow more people to carry weapons in more places. There around 300 million guns in the United States and at least one gun in about 45 percent of all households. Yet the rate of gun-related crime continues to drop.

5. “Assault Weapons Bans” Are Generally Ineffective.

While many people are calling for reinstating the federal ban on assault weapons –an arbitrary category of guns that has no clear definition – research shows it would have no effect on crime and violence. “Should it be renewed,” concludes a definitive study, “the ban’s effects on gun violence are likely to be small at best and perhaps too small for reliable measurement.”

Entire column...
Blog author's comments - This is information everyone should be made aware of but the Democrats and anti-gun people do not want to hear facts when they are on a crusade. Guns were always part of Barack Obama's agenda, but he could not do what he would have liked during his first term.

Now with nothing to lose, and the Sandy Hook School shooting fresh in the minds of the people, he will probably bypass Congress by using Executive Orders to make his new gun control bill the law. The meetings VP Joe Biden has had have only been a charade; Obama has known what he wanted in his bill for quite some time.

If Obama had his way there would not be a Second Amendment. Whatever he does to limit guns in America will have no affect on crime. Crime rates are dependent on the people who choose to commit crimes. More gun laws will only penalize the law-abiding citizens.

Democrat Sen. Dianne Feinstein's Proposed 'Assault Weapons' Legislation

The Blaze -- Last week, Sen. Dianne Feinstein promised to on the first day of the new Congress introduce legislation that would ban so-called assault weapons and certain types of ammunition.

Now, the Californian senator has posted a summary of this legislation that would be introduced in 2013, showing more details about the provisions that she would hope would be included. And it doesn’t just have to do with what she calls “assault” weapons.

Here are a few bullet points on the guns that would be banned from sale, transfer, importation and manufacturing:

--120 specifically-named firearms
--Certain other semiautomatic rifles, handguns, shotguns that can accept a detachable magazine and have one military characteristic
--Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds

Those who have acquired weapons recently under the pretense of being “grandfathered” in under prior laws see mention in Feinstein’s provisions as well. It requires these weapons to be registered under the National Firearms Act that will include collecting the following information:

--Background check of owner and any transferee;
--Type and serial number of the firearm;
--Positive identification, including photograph and fingerprint;
--Certification from local law enforcement of identity and that possession would not violate State or local law;
and
--Dedicated funding for ATF to implement registration
In addition, Feinstein proposes banning large-capacity magazines, which for her includes those that can hold more than 10 rounds.

The proposed legislation would protect hunters and existing gun owners’ rights by:

--Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment
--Exempting over 900 specifically-named weapons used for hunting or sporting purposes and
--Exempting antique, manually-operated, and permanently disabled weapons

The legislation also proposes to strength the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban and some state bans by forbidding “thumbhole stocks” and “bullet buttons,” among other suggestions. Thumbhole stocks allow for easier more ergonomic grip of the weapon and bullet buttons release an empty magazine quickly to allow the user to pop in a new one, which some have said skirts around existing assault weapon bans.

Check out the legislation’s summary in PDF form here
Blog author's comments - Feinstein's bill is the Democrat's solution to shootings and crime. But, this proposed bill will only penalize the law abiding gun owners. It will not stop the criminals.

This has no doubt been ready and in her filing cabinet for quite a while. Now, after the Newtown, Connecticut shooting, they feel this is the time to attempt to pass it. With this so-called "assault weapons" ban bill they are targeting everything - rifles, shotguns and even handguns. The gun-grabbers are going for broke. If this bill passes it would be the effective end of the Second Amendment in America.

We shall see how many members of Congress vote for the proposed bill. Perhaps if Congress stops it, Obama will use an Executive Order to make it law. I knew he would go after guns but he was hesitant to do so during his first term. I don't believe what Feinstein's bill proposes is constitutional.

The bill requires all gun owners to register their guns. The Democrats would soon impose a yearly tax on each gun. The Obama administration wants more control of our lives from health care, taxes and now our Second Amendment rights.

NY Gov. Talking Gun Control: 'Confiscation Could Be An Option'

The Blaze -- Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D-N.Y.) said Thursday that all options, including confiscation and “mandatory sales to the state,” would be on the table next month when the New York State Legislature debates new gun control measures. The comments were specifically aimed at what might happen should stricter rules be imposed on “assault” weapons and high-capacity magazines.

The governor said he plans on proposing a package of gun legislation in his State of the State address on Jan. 9.

“There’s a big difference of opinion on these issues,” Gov. Cuomo said today during a radio interview with Albany’s WGDJ-AM.

Mr. Cuomo explained that because gun control hasn’t been a recent topic of discussion in the capital, he has chosen to reach out to lawmakers to see where they stand on the issue before he submits his final proposal.
Blog author's comments - I do not think Democrat Governor Cuomo will be able to confiscate guns and use "mandatory sales to the state." He and Obama are using the tragic shooting at the Newtown, Connecticut school to gather support for their anti-gun agenda.

This is not to say that Barack Obama will not push hard for a ban on 'assault rifles', high capacity magazines and the closing of what is referred to as gun show loop holes. The liberals will continue to chip away at our Second Amendment rights.

Anyone who was paying attention had to know that Obama would focus on gun control if he won a a second term in office. New York's liberal Gov. Cuomo is following along with his anti-gun agenda.

Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Association suggested the creation of the National School Shield Program which would put armed security officers in every school. He also said "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." I agree with Mr. LaPierre.

Obama And The Second Amendment

Blog author's comments - I have had no doubt since Barack Obama was elected president in 2008 that gun control was on his agenda. He, of course, did not touch it during his first term because he wanted to be reelected and even many Democrats did not want him attempting to remove any of the Second Amendment rights.

But since he has been given another four years in office I was certain he would do something concerning gun control. The tragedy last week at the Newtown, Connecticut school has presented him and other anti-gun Democrats with an opportunity to perhaps put many restrictions on our current rights. The Democrats never let a crisis go to waste.

Via Rasmussen Reports - Poll: By a 48% to 27% Margin Americans Think Action To Treat Mental Illness Will Do More To Stop Another Mass Shooting Than Gun Control Legislation

Americans want something done following the horrific news from Sandy Hook Elementary School last week, and a plurality believes a greater emphasis on mental health issues will be the most effective way to prevent such tragedies.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Americans believe more action to treat mental health issues will do the most to prevent incidents like last Friday’s school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut. Twenty-seven percent (27%) think stricter gun control laws will do the most to prevent such shootings, while 15% put the emphasis on limits on violent movies and video games. Ten percent (10%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, (click here.)

Chicago Mayor Wants Tax On Gun Owners

Rahm Emanuel proposes $65 per-gun fee and registry

Sun Times -- Illinois handgun owners would be required to register their weapons with the state — and pay a $65-per-gun registration fee — under a mayoral plan proposed Thursday to arm police with the information they need to solve crimes and reduce illegal firearm transfers.

Even as he picked up the gun control mantle from former Mayor Richard M. Daley, Mayor Rahm Emanuel acknowledged that he’s facing an uphill battle.

It comes at a time when the National Rifle Association and its allies among Downstate lawmakers are making a major push for concealed carry legislation. Illinois is the only state in the nation that does not allow its residents to carry concealed weapons.

But Emanuel, who helped pass the Brady Bill during his days in the Clinton White House, said he’s willing to wage the tough fight if that’s what it takes to make Chicago streets safer.

His proposal would require all handgun owners to obtain a certificate of registration from the State Police for every handgun they own — at a cost of $65-per-weapon — and to renew that registration every five years.

They would be required to provide: their name, address and telephone number; the manufacturer of the gun, its model type and serial number; and the date and source of the purchase.

Whenever a handgun is sold, the seller would be required to report the sale to the State Police “no less than 48 hours prior to delivery.” Handgun buyers would have 20 days to file for a new certificate of registration. Anyone caught carrying or possessing an unregistered handgun would face a Class 2 felony.

Richard Pearson, executive director of the Illinois State Rifle Association, said Emanuel’s proposal to impose a per-handgun registration fee is “preposterous,” illegal and going nowhere in the General Assembly.

“It’s a civil right [to own a gun]. You don’t have to pay for a civil right. It’s like a poll tax,” he said.

“He’s trying to limit handguns for criminals and he’s attacking law abiding citizens. There are 1.4 million firearms owners in this state and he wants to tax them all $65. It’s crazy.” Continue reading...

Blog author's comments - So, a photo ID requirement to vote is "unconstitutional" but the gun owner requirements and gun owner tax which Emanuel wants are?

If Obama wins a second term he and Holder will go way beyond what Emanuel is attempting. They will also remove all concealed carry permits from those who have taken classes, passed an extensive background check, have been finger printed etc.

The liberals continue to ignore the Constitution. Article II... the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed."

Emanuel's proposal will not stop the criminals from buying and carrying a gun illegally. It would only punish the law abiding citizens who own legal guns.

Another Reason - To Defeat Obama In 2012

The Armed Citizen - June 22, 2011
It’s a familiar scenario: An armed citizen with a concealed-carry permit is likely once again to have saved multiple lives. Several customers were doing business inside a pawn shop when a man walked inside, pointed a gun toward the ceiling and announced a robbery. Did the gunman intend to shoot the clerk? Would he take hostages? We’ll never know, because a customer with a concealed-carry permit promptly drew a pistol and shot the robber in the stomach. The robber has been charged with aggravated robbery. (KSAT-TV, San Antonio, TX, 06/22/11)

The Armed Citizen - July 15, 2011
Upon stopping at an intersection, a motorist noticed a man approaching. Before he could react, the man reached through the window and punched him several times. Stunned by the blows, the motorist reached for his handgun, which he has a permit to carry. As his attacker reached behind his back, as if for a weapon, the motorist drew his gun and fired a shot, striking the assailant in the upper torso. The suspect will be charged following his release from the hospital. (WZXT-TV, Jacksonville, Fla., 7/15/11)

The Armed Citizen - August 31, 2011
Phillip Ramsey was drinking coffee in his kitchen when there was a knock at the door. “I didn’t recognize him and I didn’t answer the door,” Ramsey recalled. Shortly thereafter a second unknown man knocked at the door. When Ramsey didn’t answer, the man circled toward the rear of the house. Ramsey heard glass breaking and grabbed his 9 mm pistol, which he usually stores in the bedroom. “For some reason, I had it with me in the kitchen today,” he said. Ramsey called 9-1-1 and when he got to his bedroom, the man was getting off the bed below a broken window. Ramsey held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived. Following the incident he offered the following safety advice to fellow citizens: “Get a gun and learn how to use it.” (The Post and Courier, Charleston, S.C., 8/31/11)

Studies indicate that firearms are used more than 2 million times a year for personal protection, and the presence of a firearm, without a shot being fired, prevents crime in many instances.

Blog author's comments - I have never ever seen the level of dishonesty and the will to transform our country as I have with the administration now in power.

One of many attacks which is being worked on within the shadows is the Obama administration’s clear intent—once freed from the political restrictions of a first term—to assault the Second Amendment.

The President has a long, detailed and irrefutable opposition to the Second Amendment—as a senator, as a candidate and in the White House. But he is not foolish enough to revisit his fight out in the open when he has to win another election.

The media has joined the administration's attempt to cover up the operation “Fast and Furious,” a deadly, criminal scheme concocted by the Justice Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Now that the secret’s out, the Obama administration stalls and obstructs the investigation.

This was done with intent to enact more gun control and limit our right to purchase and own firearms. These are the facts gun owners face today from the most anti-gun administration ever.

The UN And The Liberals Want Your Guns

U.N. Agreement Should Have All Gun Owners Up In Arms

Forbes.com - It may not come as surprising news to many of you that the United Nations doesn’t approve of our Second Amendment. Not one bit. And they very much hope to do something about it with help from some powerful American friends.

Under the guise of a proposed global “Small Arms Treaty” premised to fight "terrorism", “insurgency” and “international crime syndicates” you can be quite certain that an even more insidious threat is being targeted – our Constitutional right for law-abiding citizens to own and bear arms.

What, exactly, does the intended agreement entail? While the terms have yet to be made public, if passed by the U.N. and ratified by our Senate, it will almost certainly force the U.S. to:

1. Enact tougher licensing requirements, creating additional bureaucratic red tape for legal firearms ownership.

2. Confiscate and destroy all “unauthorized” civilian firearms (exempting those owned by our government of course).

3. Ban the trade, sale and private ownership of all semi-automatic weapons (any that have magazines even though they still operate in the same one trigger pull – one single “bang” manner as revolvers, a simple fact the ant-gun media never seem to grasp).

4. Create an international gun registry, clearly setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation.

5. In short, overriding our national sovereignty, and in the process, providing license for the federal government to assert preemptive powers over state regulatory powers guaranteed by the Tenth Amendment in addition to our Second Amendment rights.

Have no doubt that this plan is very real, with strong Obama administration support. In January 2010 the U.S. joined 152 other countries in endorsing a U.N. Arms Treaty Resolution that will establish a 2012 conference to draft a blueprint for enactment. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has pledged to push for Senate ratification.

Just how effectively have gun bans worked to make citizens safer in other countries? Take the number of home break-ins while residents are present as an indication. In Canada and Britain, both with tough gun-control laws, nearly half of all burglaries occur when residents are present. But in the U.S. where many households are armed, only about 13% happen when someone is home.

Recognizing clear statistical benefit evidence, 41 states now allow competent, law-abiding adults to carry permitted or permit-exempt concealed handguns. As a result, crime rates in those states have typically fallen at least 10% in the year following enactment.

So the majority in our Senate is smart enough to realize that the U.N.’s gun-grab agenda is unconstitutional, politically suicidal for those who support it, and down-right idiotic—right? Let’s hope so, but not entirely count on it. - Keep reading...

Blog author's comments - This is shear lunacy. The UN is a worthless organization that has no business in the affairs of the United States. I honestly don't see this happening, but I also would not have predicted what Obama has done during such a short amount of time in office.

Of course Obama could try to push this through during a second term as President. If he receives a second term there will be no recovery from the damage he will do.

If he wins a second term he will probably have the opportunity to appoint two more Supreme Court Justices. If that happens and the SCOTUS hears this case the Second Amendment could be rewritten in favor of the UN and the liberal/anti-gun crowd.

The primary duty of the President of the United States is to protect the freedom of Americans, not to conspire with foreign interests to take our freedom and rights away from us.

Obama - Working On Gun Control

Obama: "I'm working on gun control under the radar"

greeley gazette -- Plans include enacting restrictions via Executive Order, bypassing Congress

While the Obama administration said it is committed to gun rights, a gun control advocate has spilled the beans, saying Obama is using stealth to work on firearms restrictions.

The Washington Post did a story on Steve Croley, the White House gun control czar. Croley is considered to be an expert on regulation and tort law. His approach to gun control appears to be a regulatory one.

According to the article, Jim and Sarah Brady visited Capital Hill on March 30, the 30th anniversary of the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan; to push for a ban on "large magazines."

The couple reportedly were meeting with press secretary, Jay Carney, when, according to Sarah Brady, the President came in. She said the President told her he wanted to talk about gun control and "fill us in that it was very much on his agenda."

She went on to say Obama told her, "I just want you to know that we are working on it. We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar."

The statement reinforces an article in the Huffington Post describing how the administration is exploring ways to bypass Congress and enact gun control through executive action. - Read more...

Blog author's comments - Of the many things that Obama is doing that represent a danger to our country, this is the one that may have the most potential for a huge backlash.

Most of Obama’s policies are destroying us slowly. Take away the firearms and you have subjects, not citizens.

That said, I would be surprised if he attempted any serious damage with regard to gun control before the election of 2012. Many liberals also own and want to keep their guns and Second Amendment rights.

But, if he wins a second term and gains seats in the Senate and House, there will be no stopping him. The onslaught will be heaped upon us on a weekly basis.

Ann Coulter - Liberals & Guns

What Liberals Don't Know About Guns, Chapter 217

Fresh off of blaming Jared Loughner's killing spree in the Tucson mall on Sarah Palin, liberals are now blaming it on high-capacity magazines. They might as well imprison everyone named "Jared" to prevent a crime like this from ever happening again.

During the presidential campaign, Obama said: "I don't know of any self-respecting hunter that needs 19 rounds of anything. You don't shoot 19 rounds at a deer, and if you do, you shouldn't be hunting." It would have been more accurate for him to end that sentence after the word "hunter."

It's so adorable when people who wouldn't know a high-capacity magazine from Vanity Fair start telling gun owners what they should want and need.

In fact, high-capacity mags put a predator like Loughner at a disadvantage because they are so long, unwieldy and difficult to conceal. This may be why the Tucson shooting appears to be the first spree killing involving a high-capacity magazine. It would have been easier for Loughner to bring two guns.

On the other hand, for a homeowner who is a poor marksman, a large-capacity clip could be a lifesaver.

But after every multiple murder, liberals come up with some crackpot idea to "do something" that invariably involves infringing on some aspect of our Second Amendment rights.

The ACLU won't let us put nuts in mental hospitals and Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik wouldn't lock up Loughner even after he had broken the law several times.

In an open society that includes Sheriff Dumbnik and the ACLU, deranged individuals may explode into murder and mayhem now and then. The best we can do is enact policies that will reduce the death toll when these acts of carnage occur.

There's only one policy of any kind that has ever been shown to deter mass murder: concealed-carry laws. In a comprehensive study of all public, multiple-shooting incidents in America between 1977 and 1999, the highly regarded economists John Lott and Bill Landes found that concealed-carry laws were the only laws that had any beneficial effect.

And the effect was not small. States that allowed citizens to carry concealed handguns reduced multiple-shooting attacks by 60 percent and reduced the death and injury from these attacks by nearly 80 percent.

When there are no armed citizens to stop mass murderers, the killers are able to shoot unabated, even pausing to reload their weapons, until they get bored and stop. Some stop only when their trigger fingers develop carpal tunnel syndrome. - Continue reading > >

Blog author's comments - Guns in the hands of those who obey the law mean less crime and a safer community and country.

After the Tucson shooting the liberals as usual saw a crisis they did not want to waste and once again began talking about gun control.

Soon we will probably hear from Barack Obama with his list of items to chip away at the Second Amendment.

More Guns Equal Less Crime Across the USA: 2010
FBI Preliminary Semiannual Uniform Crime Report

* Here's the obvious: If you're a criminal - do you break into a house where a little old lady will shoot you or where a helpless victim is easy prey?

* If you're a criminal - do you care anything about the law? Obviously not! Isn't it naive to believe criminals will follow gun control laws?

* Why have we let our government legislate us into becoming potential victims? Criminals have guns while law-abiding citizens are left helpless.

* Why should criminals carry guns while law-abiding citizens are prohibited?

* Why add more gun control laws when criminals clearly ignore existing gun control laws?

* Any gun control that restricts law-abiding citizens is ridiculous - we're not the people who commit crimes.

* More guns in the hands of law-abiding citizens will lower crime and make the world a better place.

* One more quick point: If gun control works - why is crime so high in Washington D.C.? After all, guns are barely allowed in D.C.

A Basic Right - The 2nd Amendment

Suzanne Gratia Hupp explains meaning of 2nd Amendment

Texas Monthly talks with Ted Nugent

Blog author's comments - The last time the Supreme Court ruled on the Second Amendment, at least five Justices knew tyranny is never far away. So they did what was right and true for all of America.

What is a bit scary and pathetic, was that the vote on the Second Amendment was so close, 5-4. Too close for comfort, it should have been 9-0.

The liberals on the Supreme Court apparently do not believe in the Second Amendment or the Constitution. You can be sure that prior to the election of 2012, Ruth Bader Ginsburg will retire, so Obama can appoint yet another hard core liberal, as he has with his last two appointees.

This is the big problem folks, if Obama or another Democrat should win in 2012, they may have the chance to appoint a fifth liberal. If that happens, the Constitution will most certainly be rewritten. The First and Second Amendments will look nothing like they were meant to be.
