The fraudulent President is a total disgrace, simply reading and mumbling talking points written for him by his handlers. It is not about controlling guns, it's about controlling the citizens. How about a background check for everyone illegally crossing the border? Anyone who believes anything that Biden or the Democrats say needs help. Even outright lies and overt assaults on liberty, make no difference to people whose political bent is victory at all costs.

In today's toxic political atmosphere, the truth and liberty are both victims of collateral damage. Biden does not even know what he’s saying, let alone what he’s talking about. He mildly makes a threat of using jets and bombs to take on gun owners, and somehow this is not “inciting violence”? The only thing Joe Biden said correctly is that’s he’s been doing this a long time.

Democrats Instantly Exploit Boulder to Push Gun Grab

It is particularly bad news that the maniac who killed 10 people at the King Soopers grocery store in Boulder yesterday does not fit the preferred white male oppressor profile. His name is Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, age 21.

This compounds the tragedy because every terrible event is exploited by the Democrats who run the government/media to advance their pernicious agenda. In contrast to the Atlanta violence, they can’t use this to expand cultural Marxism by pretending white supremacists are killing Asians. So they will use it for something worse: an attack on our fundamental right to defend ourselves.

The Blaze reports on Democrats’ unseemly eagerness:

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), one of the staunchest gun control advocates in Congress, said America must use the Boulder atrocity to take its stand against gun violence...

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), meanwhile, promised that lawmakers would advance gun control measures in the wake of the Boulder massacre...

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), lamenting the latest mass tragedy, said gun reform is the only adequate response.

Let’s not forget Queen Nancy Pelosi, who croaks,

“Action is needed now to prevent this scourge from continuing to ravage our communities.”

Democrats don’t like it that we peasants have the independence afforded by cars. If pricing them out of our reach by mandating electric vehicles doesn’t do the trick, maybe they will propose banning them outright. Every time there is a pileup on the highway, they will squawk about the immediate action needed to prevent our imperiled communities from being ravaged.

Public support for gun control is not high. But then, public support for opening the border is not high either. That hasn’t stopped Democrats.

Anyone motivated to go on a shooting spree will acquire a gun, legally or otherwise. There are close to half a billion guns in the USA, and close to 9 billion rounds of ammunition. Even if Democrats become powerful enough to implement the door-to-door searches they no doubt fantasize about, guns and ammo will always be available on the black market.

A single armed law-abiding citizen might have cut short the bloodbath before so many were killed. Democrats want a world where Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa and Robert Aaron Long have guns but we don’t. That will make us more likely to cling to the skirts of Big Government for protection.

Democrat gun-grabbers hardly waited for the bodies to stop twitching, much less for an investigation to determine what happened and why, but it appears the cause of the bloodshed was the same in Boulder as in Atlanta; to wit, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa is crazy as an outhouse rat and should have been locked up in a mental asylum. He reportedly believes that “racist Islamophobic people” have been hacking his phone. Given our limited information, paranoid schizophrenia is the most likely diagnosis.

However, the actual cause of the violence is not something Democrats are likely to discuss, because that would not advance their agenda.

Meanwhile, someone went berserk at a hookah lounge in Detroit, wounding eight, leaving three in critical condition. But this is not big news because a knife was used instead of a gun, and Democrats do not want to confiscate our knives — yet.

Blog Author's Input: There isn't one more gun control law to enact that will make the mentally unstable not commit murder. This would only make the Democrats and Media feel good about themselves even though what they want to do will not help our citizens, only hurt the law abiding gun owner.

But let's give the Left credit, they almost waited a whole 24 hours before yelling for more gun control laws. Every gun purchased is a vote against the Democrat efforts at gun control. It will most certainly be on the table if Biden is elected. The Liberals say, only cops should have guns, and those wealthy enough to have private armed security. Remember, when seconds matter, the police are just minutes away.

I am a defender of the Second Amendment, and for people who say, “Why does the average citizen need magazines that hold 15 or 30 rounds?” And, “Why do they need 5000 rounds in their safe?” Turn on your television, and you should receive the answer. The police are incapable of protecting our private property, they are barely capable of protecting us. The case for gun control was never safety or security, it was, and is, government control.

Lastly Cuomo, you have not done your job especially now, you have made a total mess with your decisions on COVID-19 and your citizens. You need to be held accountable as well as your mayor of New York City.

For those who remember, compare her likeability and brains against the one time vice-presidential candidate, the lovely and intelligent, Sara Palin. Abrams is pathetic, the way she slobbers all over herself when someone mentions her as Biden's running mate. Her only upside for these days in Democrat politics, is she is a 'woman of color'.

This black woman, has never conceded the fact she lost the governorship in Georgia, and I am hearing that she owes hundreds of thousands of dollars in back taxes. She is one of the biggest jokes in politics. She is a prime example of a loser who is racist and vengeful.

Sen. Kamala Harris Is Doing A Victory Lap Over Her 'Bold' Gun Control Proposal But She Missed This Memo

On Monday night, CNN held five back-to-back town halls with 2020 Democratic candidates. During her hour, Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) unveiled her "bold" and "courageous" gun control proposal: she would give Congress 100 days to pass "sensible" gun control legislation – whatever the hell that means – or else she would take executive action.

She said she supports renewing the Assault Weapons Ban and wants universal background checks in play. She went into a lot of garbage about what she thinks about gun control laws that are in place. Naturally, she knows zip about federal gun laws.

Since she made her "bold" announcement during the town hall on Monday, Harris' team has been pushing the gun control narrative and hard.[…]

Of course, she runs with the typical "I'll stand up to the NRA" garbage, as if the NRA isn't made up of individual members nationwide.

She's not hiding the fact that she'd take a pen and paper to get things done. Sound familiar?

She even regurgitated the same stereotypical anti-gunner talking point. They love saying women are more likely to be hurt by their partner's guns than they are to defend themselves.

And, somehow, she determined that paying teachers more verses letting them carry concealed will stop school shootings. Not sure how that math works.

Of course, this proposal sounds great to those who hate guns and the Second Amendment.[…]

The NRA's Annual Meetings are taking place this weekend. Thousands of gun-loving, God fearing, patriotic Americans are gathering in Indianapolis to talk about the future of the Second Amendment and how to preserve our freedoms. It's a time for like-minded individuals to come together and devise a plan, especially before a presidential election year, to protect our right to keep and bear arms.[…]

You want gun confiscation. You want to disarm us unless we "want to hunt or something." You want to make it harder for law-abiding people to protect themselves and their families. You'd rather give us a rape whistle and hope it helps than to allow us the opportunity to be proactive.

Congrats, Kamala. You may not have planned on being the talk of the town, but you are. And you'll also be the reason for the spike in guns and ammo sales. Can't wait to see what the National Instant Criminal Background Check (NICS) numbers are for April.

Blog Author's Comments: Kamala Harris doesn’t hate guns, she carries one, she just doesn't want you to have one. The Democrats plan for gun control, take away the right for law abiding citizens to have weapons, but they do not have the answers to stop the criminals and thugs from having guns. The leading cause of death for young black males is other young black males. If you want to control something I suggest you start with them.

Some Democrats lack the critical thinking skills to recognize that fact. And that is unfortunate, because they run the cities and states where blacks and guns are the biggest problem. Kamala Harris: "When I'm president..." That's as close as she will get, so let's not hyperventilate over her statements. It is difficult to see why anyone with 5% support of their own party would be in victory lap mode.

Despite Being Shot, Democrats Blocked Steve Scalise From Testifying On Gun Violence

House Democrats blocked Republican Whip Steve Scalise from testifying at a hearing on "gun violence" this week despite being a victim of a shooting. The reason? He doesn't support new gun control measures Democrats are hoping to pass with their new majority.

"It was pretty bizarre. Historically when Republicans were in charge, even when Democrats were in charge prior to this more radical leftist majority, if a member of Congress wanted to testify on a committee, they always provided a venue for that to happen," Scalise said. "In this case they were holding a hearing in the Judiciary on reducing gun violence and I've got a perspective clearly mine dealt with something that happened to me and I saw how guns were used to save people's lives. It should have been able to be part of the testimony. They wanted to focus on taking away the rights of law abiding citizens which their bill ultimately does."


In June 2017 Scalise was shot and nearly killed by a Democrat during practice for the annual congressional baseball game. Because he was (and still is) part of House leadership, his security detail was on scene that day. Without them, it would have been a massacre.

"Let me tell you, if they didn't act so quickly -- and even after being shot both themselves, continued to engage the shooter and ultimately got him down, which not only saved my life, but saved the life of a lot of other people that are here in this chamber today," he continued.

Even in Soviet Russia and its satellites, once the USSR crashed, millions of hidden firearms suddenly reappeared. They always talk gun control when they have any power, but they know it will never work. 21 Gun Controls Currently Being Pushed By Senate Democrats...

Breitbart -- Senate Democrats and their surrogates in various groups are currently pushing 21 new gun controls for law-abiding citizens.

These controls range from an all-out ban on semiautomatic firearms to regulations on single shot muzzleloaders and limits on the number of guns someone can pass to a felon.

Breitbart News outlined the first nine of these gun controls on October 11. They were:

1.Ban on Bump Stocks – Sen. Dianne Feinstein is pushing this with her Automatic Fire Prevention Act. She admits that bump stocks are an accessory—that they do not convert semiautomatics into automatics—but she wants to ban them anyway. Her bill explicitly bans any accessory that allows an increase in rate of fire in short bursts but does “not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machine gun.”

2.Ban on Trigger Cranks – Sen. Feinstein’s bill bans trigger cranks too. Like the bump stock, trigger cranks are another novelty that gun owners can use to achieve short, rapid bursts of fire. Such cranks allow a gun owner to mimic automatic fire yet do not convert a semiautomatic gun into an automatic one.

3.Ban on Semiautomatic firearms – Sen. Feinstein voiced support for this ban during her appearance on Face the Nation, and the Washington Post pushed for such a ban two days later.

4.Implementation of Universal Background Checks – Sen. Chris Murphy used an appearance on State of the Union to stress that a bump stock ban is only the beginning for Democrats. They plan to follow that ban with the implementation of universal background checks, which means private gun sales would require a background check just like retail sales. Democrats claim these checks would save lives, yet Sen. Murphy and others ignore the fact that the Vegas attacker purchased his guns via background checks, as did so many attackers before him. The real reason Democrats want universal background checks is because such checks require a gun registry to be enforceable. Therefore, the implementation of such checks would immediately lead to one more gun control: a gun registry.

5.Ban on “Assault Weapons” – Sen. Murphy also mentioned an “assault weapons” ban, suggesting it would be next in line after background checks. The Los Angeles Times called for an “assault weapons” ban as well.

6.Ban on “High Capacity” Magazines – The Los Angeles Times also called for a ban on “high capacity” magazines, describing them as one of the most dangerous aspects of “assault weapons.” The Times points to attacks like ones on Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, and the San Bernardino County Building as justifications for an “assault weapons” ban that contains a “high capacity” magazine ban. In so doing, the Times overlooks the fact that all three attacks—Sandy Hook, Virginia Tech, and San Bernardino—occurred in gun-free zones. This means the attackers had no threat of armed response and could take their time, reloading as often as needed. In such scenarios magazine capacity is a moot issue.

7.Opposition to Concealed Carry – Breitbart News reported that Sen. Feinstein took time to argue against concealed carry for law-abiding citizens during an appearance on Face the Nation. Speaking of concealed carry she said, “I don’t believe it’s protected by the Constitution.”

8.Opposition to National Reciprocity – Sen. Feinstein also voiced opposition to the national reciprocity legislation currently pending before Congress. She said, “Well, my opinion of that bill is it’s terrible. … [Do] we want every American to feel comfortable packing a concealed weapon around the country?”

9.Australian-style Gun Ban – The Washington Post put forward the idea in an October 9 editorial.

Numerous others have flooded in since the introduction of those original nine. The newest suggested controls include regulation on single shot muzzleloaders. In fact, Gabby Giffords gun control group suggests muzzleloaders could be the next bump stock. Her group also wants gun control on “high capacity shotguns,” binary triggers, “AK and AR style pistols,” arm braces for AR style pistols, “AR pistol blade stabilizers,” .50 caliber rifles, .50 caliber ammunition, and tracer rounds for various calibers of firearms.

Blog Author's Comments: Democrat Senator, 84 year old Dianne Feinstein, is planning to run for yet another six year term and she and her family feel quite safe with their around the clock armed body guards. Guns and gun ownership will always be her go-to issue, but with Republican Donald Trump occupying the White House, none of this is going to happen. If she cannot understand "Shall not be infringed", then she does not belong in our government.

The best gun control is using two hands. Why is that not on the list? If gun regulations worked, then Chicago would have the lowest gun crime rate, not the highest. Chicago already has the strictest gun laws in the country and the criminals couldn't give a rats-rear about them. While we're on the subject, does the NFL care to chime in on black-on-black gun violence or is it just when a white cop is involved that it matters? Evil is using innocent’s deaths as a platform for their political gain. And this is especially true with the Democrats.

This country has the Second Amendment, what don't you understand about it? And what do sound suppressors have to do with anything and do any of the people in the video know what they do? If someone wants to kill a mass quantity of people they can and will, use whatever they need. Sorry liberals, but you can't ban everything. Oh yeah, late night talk show hosts, you are there to entertain those that watch your shows, that's it, now dance monkeys dance. All these show hosts have private security and live behind gated communities. But we commoners shouldn’t be able to protect ourselves. Enforce the gun laws we already have.

They do all sound like puppets. It disgusts me that democrats and celebrities are just dancing on the graves of the people who died in Las Vegas. And it’s as if they don't care. And speaking about gun control, I have control of my guns. One item that we can be sure is on his agenda is more gun control laws. Obama has lied about not doing anything which would infringe on our Second Amendment rights. I don’t believe anything he says.

He and his administration will do as much as they can and they do not care what the majority of the American people want. Only the National Rifle Association is fighting for the Second Amendment. Obama will use more executive orders and ignore our Constitution and Second Amendment. Most of us should know that more gun control laws will have little, if any, affect on the criminals. They don’t care how many new gun control laws are put in place. More laws will only hurt the law abiding gun owners.

Hillary Clinton Pushes Gun Control And Obamacare

Politico --Hillary Clinton on Tuesday offered her most detailed comments on domestic policy in months, calling for tighter gun restrictions while also going to bat for Obamacare and warning that rising economic inequality is contributing to “social collapse.”

As to whether she’ll run for the White House, however, Clinton said she’s still mulling it because there’s “a cost to everything.”

The former secretary of state, who would be the Democratic frontrunner in 2016 should she run, was delivering the keynote address at a conference held by the National Council for Behavioral Health, an organization that focuses on mental health.

“We have to rein in what has become [an] almost article of faith, that anybody can own a gun anywhere, anytime. And I don’t believe that,” she said, as applause drowned her out.

Clinton, who argued it was possible to hold her position and still support the right to gun ownership, warned that unfettered access to guns could have dangerous consequences. She called the country’s approach to guns “way out of balance,” and referred to cases in which gun violence has erupted over minor issues.

She painted a dark picture, warning that, “At the rate we’re going, we’re going to have so many people with guns everywhere, fully licensed, fully validated, in settings where [one] could be in a movie theater, and they don’t like someone chewing gum loudly or talking on their cell phone and decide they have the perfect right to defend themselves against the gum chewer or cell phone user by shooting.”

Clinton continued, “That’s what happens in the countries I’ve visited where there’s no rule of law.”

The proliferation of guns combined with few restrictions on where they can be carried can “give someone the means to respond in the moment in a way that he wouldn’t if a few minutes passed and there was no means to inflict harm … We really have got to get our arms around this,” she said.

Clinton also spoke in support of President Barack Obama’s health care law. While she has previously defended the law, she has also stressed she’s open to changing it in the future. But on Tuesday, she focused more on what she said were positive aspects of Obamacare.

Why would Hillary Clinton and her husband need a gun for protection when they will have secret service protection for life? The Second Amendment was put in writing to protect us from people like Clinton and the current administration.

The Democrats will attempt to pass more gun control laws, but this will only affect the law-abiding gun owners. The criminals don't care about gun laws, in fact they would like to know who does or does not have a gun, this would make their job much easier. If Hillary Clinton does run for president I hope she campaigns on her opinions regarding the Second Amendment and Obamacare. We will see how much it helps her.

Sen. Dem: After Boston Bombing, 'Get Back To Work' On Gun Bill

Washington Examiner -- Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., said that the families of Sandy Hook are grieving from a tragedy just as Bostonians are, as he called for Congress to focus on passing a gun bill.

“We’ve got to get back to work to make sure we can listen to the American people who still want us . . . to pass a background check,” Murphy said on MSNBC, per a rush transcription, after saying that there should be an “appropriate time” for grieving over the victims of the bombing at the Boston Marathon.

“Hopefully, we can get back to work [by the end of the week],” he said.

Blog author's comments - So apparently Murphy believes this is not the time to grieve about the Boston bombing victims...that should happen after a gun bill is passed? Meaning, forget the terrorism for now, let's just get back to seizing guns from Americans. Would he not grieve if one of his family or friends were involved?

It sounds like he is upset and jealous that Massachusetts is usurping the public outpouring of sympathy that belongs to Connecticut. He doesn't want to lose the edge that the Newtown shooting "crisis" provided him and the rest of the gun grabbing liberals.

Ted Nugent Interviewed About Gun Control By Erin Burnett of CNN

The Blaze -- Sporting a graying beard and his signature camouflage hat, rocker and gun rights advocate Ted Nugent dismissed the Senate’s gun control bill as a “feel-good measure” that won’t stop any shootings. Towards the end of his interview on CNN, Nugent recommended that Attorney General Eric Holder be arrested for gun trafficking.

“I don’t support the bill. I agree with the 90-plus percent of the law enforcement heroes out there, the real warriors of the street, that reject this as a feel-good measure ,” Nugent said bluntly. “I reject it out of hand as a feel-good measure that’s not going to accomplish anything. It won’t stop any shootings, that’s for sure.”

Nugent said he supports police enforcing the gun laws that are already on the books, rather than adding even more regulations. The Senate gun bill would expand background checks and likely include amendments from senators in both parties.

CNN’s Erin Burnett then asked Nugent about New York’s new gun legislation that allows police to confiscate firearms from people who are determined to be mentally ill. The Blaze has reported on the instance where a law-abiding gun owner’s guns were confiscated by mistake in New York.

Nugent said he simply doesn’t trust the “bureaucracy” to “accurately or responsibly or legally identify someone with mental issues.” However, the rocker did say he wants guns out of the hands of the mentally ill, but that it’s not the governments responsibility to determine who is mentally ill.

“I just don’t trust the government. I don’t trust the government that claims it’s going to reduce the budget while they increase the budget,” he added. Throwing a curve ball, Nugent then asked Burnett if she wants to reduce gun trafficking. Naturally, Burnett answered yes. “Then you would support my recommendation that we arrest Eric Holder,” Nugent said.

“Well, no, I don’t support that,” Burnett replied.

“Well, if you want to stop gun trafficking why don’t we go after the guy trafficking guns? That would be Eric Holder,” Nugent shot back, clearly referring to Operation Fast and Furious where 2,000 guns were allowed to walk across the U.S.-Mexico border.

Blog author's comments - I obviously agree with Ted Nugent. He is a gun-rights advocate and has also been quite vocal concerning how the criminal element in our society should be dealt with. I also agree with Nugent concerning 'Fast and Furious'. That was quickly swept under the carpet by the mainstream media to cover for Eric Holder and Barack Obama. The documentation was also locked up tight by Obama.

The people of America need to wake up. Many may not lack intelligence or the ability to work hard for something, but so many are so easy to fool. We are being played America. We are being worked over. If we do not stand up and do something about this soon, it will be too late to do anything. In fact our best chance at putting our country back on track toward recovery and political sanity was the election of 2012. Sadly Obama was given four more years to continue his agenda.

Judges must enforce the laws, but many are bleeding heart liberals who reduce sentencing or give probation to those who should remain in jail. There are ways to help lock up these offenders by enforcing the gun laws already on the books. If there are any new gun laws they will have the most impact on the law-abiding citizens. And no gun laws will ever stop the mentally ill. The issue of mentally ill people needs to be dealt with and they were the cause of most of the mass shootings. Gun control is 'feel-good' action pushed by the liberals. I knew that they and Obama would go after guns if he won a second term. Too bad the 16 RINO's who voted for more gun control agree with them.

Wayne LaPierre: Michael Bloomberg 'Insane' On Guns

Huffington Post -- The National Rifle Association chief Wayne LaPierre said Sunday that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has an "insane" approach to gun control, telling NBC's "Meet the Press" that universal background checks for gun buyers are a "dishonest premise."

"Criminals aren't going to be checked, they're not going to do this," LaPierre said, calling background checks a "speed bump for the law abiding."

Bloomberg, an advocate of stricter gun control, has given millions of dollars toward tighter regulation through Mayors Against Illegal Guns. He supports universal background checks, as well as a ban on assault weapons and an upgraded gun-tracking system -- all measures the NRA opposes.

LaPierre said that a list making it easier to track weapons used at crime scenes would be abused. "Our names are going to be in the system, there is going to be a list created, the list will be abused," he said, sounding concerns over privacy for gun owners. "Some newspaper will print it off, somebody will hack it, there will be a registry."

Lapierre said a better solution to gun violence is to focus on things like mental health services and arming school employees, saying "90 percent of school administrators, 90 percent say that armed security, police officers in schools, make those schools safer. Not a mom or dad wants to drop their kid off at school and leave their kids unprotected."

"Yes, we were right. And we're right that the mental health system needs to be fixed," he said of the NRA. "We want to do the real things that make people safe. What's appalled me about this whole debate is about how little it has to do with making people safe."

Blog author's comments - The NRA is standing strong in support of our Second Amendment rights...if you are not a member join now. Wayne LaPierre is correct. Criminals don't do background checks. Nor will a criminal abide by any new or current gun laws. Why not concentrate efforts on criminals with guns and the mentally ill?

Michael Bloomberg is a liberal with money. He enjoys the power which he has as the Mayor of New York. He does have an 'insane' approach to gun control and many other things. He is the typical Democrat who believes they know what is best for the rest of America and he will continue his crusade against guns. Obama and the Democrats love him, helping them do the work they want to accomplish.

The Democrats would rather demonize the NRA and every Republican idea than listen to reason. If Bloomberg, Obama and Feinstein had their way all guns would be confiscated. Since Gov. Cuomo passed his law in New York taking the maximum number of bullets in a magazine from 10 to 7, I wonder if Bloomberg's bodyguards carry only 7 rounds in the magazines of their guns...I don't think so.

When NRA suggested putting armed security in every school across America, mainstream media sharply criticized Wayne LaPierre — calling him everything from "laughable" and "tone deaf" to "whacked," "evil" and "out of step with America." Unfortunately for the media, America disagrees. Most citizens support armed security in schools — and the NRA, as evidenced by its 250,000 new members over the past month. So the media can go speaking for elites, but America will speak for itself.

Blog author's comments - A good ad by the NRA. There are already many schools that have armed guards and I believe it is the only way to keep the schools safe. The liberal mainstream media is doing all they can to help Obama by being critical of the NRA. America has the National Rifle Association defending our Second Amendment rights whether we choose to own a gun or not and they don't back down from criticism.

So far, I have seen only a few members of the Republican Party join them. We shall see how many in the GOP will vote to protect our rights when the real fight starts in Congress concerning the banning of certain weapons, magazines and a national registry of gun owners which Obama and the Democrats have on their agenda.

Blog author's comments - Progressives believe there isn't a single "illegal alien" in the entire country. They are called "undocumented immigrants." Obama will find a way to give the illegals amnesty and eventually citizenship so they can of course vote for the Democratic Party.

Progressives want gun control. Barack Obama, Eric Holder and other Democrats don't just want more gun control laws; they would like to abolish our right to bear arms. The Democrats will continue to chip away at our Second Amendment rights. The gun ban Obama wants to put in place will only disarm the law abiding citizens.

The left which includes the mainstream media will continue to blame the NRA for the latest mass shooting at the Sandy Hook School in Newtown, Connecticut by a mentally disturbed person. I do not see them condemn the shooter or the fact that he should have been institutionalized nearly as much as they are focusing their sights on the NRA. Because the goal of the NRA is to protect our Second Amendment rights, the left are committed to discrediting and destroying them.

NY Gov. Talking Gun Control: 'Confiscation Could Be An Option'

The Blaze -- Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D-N.Y.) said Thursday that all options, including confiscation and “mandatory sales to the state,” would be on the table next month when the New York State Legislature debates new gun control measures. The comments were specifically aimed at what might happen should stricter rules be imposed on “assault” weapons and high-capacity magazines.

The governor said he plans on proposing a package of gun legislation in his State of the State address on Jan. 9.

“There’s a big difference of opinion on these issues,” Gov. Cuomo said today during a radio interview with Albany’s WGDJ-AM.

Mr. Cuomo explained that because gun control hasn’t been a recent topic of discussion in the capital, he has chosen to reach out to lawmakers to see where they stand on the issue before he submits his final proposal.

Blog author's comments - I do not think Democrat Governor Cuomo will be able to confiscate guns and use "mandatory sales to the state." He and Obama are using the tragic shooting at the Newtown, Connecticut school to gather support for their anti-gun agenda.

This is not to say that Barack Obama will not push hard for a ban on 'assault rifles', high capacity magazines and the closing of what is referred to as gun show loop holes. The liberals will continue to chip away at our Second Amendment rights.

Anyone who was paying attention had to know that Obama would focus on gun control if he won a a second term in office. New York's liberal Gov. Cuomo is following along with his anti-gun agenda.

Wayne LaPierre of the National Rifle Association suggested the creation of the National School Shield Program which would put armed security officers in every school. He also said "the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." I agree with Mr. LaPierre.

Blog author's comments - I have had no doubt since Barack Obama was elected president in 2008 that gun control was on his agenda. He, of course, did not touch it during his first term because he wanted to be reelected and even many Democrats did not want him attempting to remove any of the Second Amendment rights.

But since he has been given another four years in office I was certain he would do something concerning gun control. The tragedy last week at the Newtown, Connecticut school has presented him and other anti-gun Democrats with an opportunity to perhaps put many restrictions on our current rights. The Democrats never let a crisis go to waste.

Americans want something done following the horrific news from Sandy Hook Elementary School last week, and a plurality believes a greater emphasis on mental health issues will be the most effective way to prevent such tragedies.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Americans believe more action to treat mental health issues will do the most to prevent incidents like last Friday’s school shootings in Newtown, Connecticut. Twenty-seven percent (27%) think stricter gun control laws will do the most to prevent such shootings, while 15% put the emphasis on limits on violent movies and video games. The Blaze -- Discussing the shocking murder-suicide that rocked the NFL over the weekend, when Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher fatally shot his girlfriend and then committed suicide in front of his coach and general manager, Costas argued that domestic disputes are more likely to end in such a fashion if the government does not limit people’s access to firearms.


Costas said: Writer Jason Whitlock, with whom I do not always agree but today said it so well that we may as well just quote or paraphrase from the end of his article.

Our current gun culture, Whitlock wrote, ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead.’

Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it.

In the coming days, Jovan Belcher’s actions and their possible connection to football will be analyzed. Who knows? But here, wrote Jason Whitlock, is what I believe: If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.

Blog author's comments - From listening to Bob Costas over the years what he said does not surprise me. He was able to give us his opinion because it's probably also what his employer thinks. I know it's what the left believes.

The writer Costas quotes said - "If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today." Belcher was clearly irrational when he killed his girl friend and took his own life. They also had a child which Belcher was not thinking about.

There will be some people who think because Jovan Belcher played professional football and may have had concussions...that this could have contributed to what he did. I obviously don't know the answer as to why Jovan Belcher did this. But I do know it is wrong to blame our Second Amendment and pass more gun control laws.

According to the Cato Institute -- States that allow registered citizens to carry concealed weapons have lower crime rates than those that don't. The 31 states that have "shall issue" laws allowing private citizens to carry concealed weapons have, on average, a 24 percent lower violent crime rate, a 19 percent lower murder rate and a 39 percent lower robbery rate than states that forbid concealed weapons. In fact, the nine states with the lowest violent crime rates are all right-to-carry states. Remarkably, guns are used for self-defense more than 2 million times a year, three to five times the estimated number of violent crimes committed with guns.

While the Obama administration said it is committed to gun rights, a gun control advocate has spilled the beans, saying Obama is using stealth to work on firearms restrictions.

The Washington Post did a story on Steve Croley, the White House gun control czar. Croley is considered to be an expert on regulation and tort law. His approach to gun control appears to be a regulatory one.

According to the article, Jim and Sarah Brady visited Capital Hill on March 30, the 30th anniversary of the assassination attempt on Ronald Reagan; to push for a ban on "large magazines."

The couple reportedly were meeting with press secretary, Jay Carney, when, according to Sarah Brady, the President came in. She said the President told her he wanted to talk about gun control and "fill us in that it was very much on his agenda."

She went on to say Obama told her, "I just want you to know that we are working on it. We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar."

Blog author's comments - Of the many things that Obama is doing that represent a danger to our country, this is the one that may have the most potential for a huge backlash.

Most of Obama’s policies are destroying us slowly. Take away the firearms and you have subjects, not citizens.

That said, I would be surprised if he attempted any serious damage with regard to gun control before the election of 2012. Many liberals also own and want to keep their guns and Second Amendment rights.

But, if he wins a second term and gains seats in the Senate and House, there will be no stopping him. The onslaught will be heaped upon us on a weekly basis.

The Hill - Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is rejecting gun-control legislation offered by the chairman of the Homeland Security Committee in response to the weekend shootings of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) and 19 others in Arizona.

Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.) announced plans Tuesday to introduce legislation prohibiting people from carrying guns within 1,000 feet of members of Congress.

King, who has previously called for the removal of illegal guns from the streets, made the announcement alongside New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, one of the nation’s loudest voices for stricter gun laws.

King said the legislation is not intended only for the safety of government officials but also to protect the public. He said elected officials are not necessarily more important than constituents, but by protecting them in this way, they would feel safer in meeting federal officials at public events.

“The fact is they do represent the people who elect them, and it’s essential, if we’re going to continue to have contact, that the public who are at these meetings are ensured of their own safety,” King said.

King’s legislation got the cold shoulder from Boehner and other Republicans after it was announced.

Blog author's comments - Criminals who have the intent of harming someone are not going to be stopped by another gun law. If there were more guns at the Safeway store the morning of the shooting, maybe the body count would not have been so devastating.
