Poll: SOTU Viewers Say Biden Did Not Talk Enough About Inflation or Violent Crime

A majority of State of the Union viewers do not believe President Biden talked enough about inflation or violent crime, a CNN Poll released Wednesday found.

The survey, taken March 1 among 544 respondents, asked viewers if they believe Biden did enough to address certain issues, including inflation and violent crime.

Overall, 53 percent said Biden did not do enough to discuss inflation, and 54 percent said he did not do enough address violent crime either.

🙶 Indeed, Biden only mentioned inflation a handful of times, touting his vague plan to “fight inflation” and build a “better America.”

“My plan to fight inflation will lower your costs and lower the deficit,” Biden claimed. He will do that in part, he said, by cutting the cost of prescription drugs and slashing energy costs for families by “combating climate change.”

Biden did not speak at length about violent crime in blue cities either, simply stating that it is important to invest in crime prevention and community police officers.

🙶 We should all agree: The answer is not to defund the police. The answer is to fund the police with the resources and training they need to protect our communities,” Biden said, essentially ignoring the fact that members of his own base have been calling to defund the police for a solid two years.

🙶 Notably, Biden spent a sizable portion of his speech on the conflict in Ukraine, and while a majority of the survey’s respondents said he addressed it sufficiently in his speech, 64 percent say economic issues in the speech were more important than the situation in Ukraine.

The state of the union is evident for all to see throughout the world, the globalist elite and the deceitful members of Congress are steadily leading America through a pronounced decline.

Seems Biden just saying that he "gets it" about the terrible inflation he caused is no help for Americans hammered by it. Stolen elections do have consequences. Everything about Biden’s time in office will be a total failure for America.

Yes, this walking corpse and his army of media propagandists will do their worst, but the outcome is assured: none of these lies will succeed. The era of the corporate media swaying public opinion has ended (see here and most especially here.) Therefore, try as he might, the worst president of my lifetime will not be able to paper over the truth of his failure, of the chaos he has reaped at home and abroad.

🙶 After Trump turned America into an energy-independent nation, Biden shut that down, which not only emboldened Putin’s criminal adventurism but once again put America at the mercy of Middle Eastern countries that hate us. The result is the doubling of energy prices—the cruelest tax on the poor.

🙶 After Trump handed Biden a miracle vaccine, the very same vaccine Candidate Biden told Americans not to trust, His Fraudulency bungled the rollout so badly one can hardly believe the results. Fact: more people died under Biden (who had the vaccine) than died under Trump (who did not).

Biden’s cynical and sadistic decision to put all his eggs into the Vaccine Basket, ignore life-saving therapeutics, and use vaccine mandates as a political tool to divide society and scapegoat and dehumanize the unvaccinated needlessly killed countless Americans.

Biden exploded the deficit, and the result is the record inflation eating the poor alive.

Under Biden, violent crime is hitting Democrat-run cities in ways unseen for decades.

🙶 After Trump had nearly solved this problem, our Southern border is now wide open. As a result, millions of unvaccinated illegal aliens are pouring into our country. We have no idea who these people are, but we do know they bring crime, lower wages, and increased housing costs.

To top things off, Biden just chose one of the most divisive Supreme Court nominees in history when he was offered a unifying one.

Under Biden, it’s all chaos, chaos everywhere, at home and abroad, and there is no end in sight. And all of this chaos is a direct result of Biden’s policies, his incompetence, his lack of empathy, his lack of decency, his corruption, his ego, his stupidity, and the fact that he becomes more mentally diminished by the day.

The State of our union is Joe Biden’s creation, and it is as bad as it’s ever been.

Biden has nothing to stand on other than lies, rhetoric, division, and a corporate media that can no longer put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

Imagine a world where the media just played neutral and reported the news no matter what side it hurt or helped. I have said it before and will continue, it is the American media who should accept much of the blame. The Democrats and the left are nothing or should not be, but look at what they have done. Henry Sanchez, 18, originally from Guatemala and Jose Montano, 17, a native of El Salvador, brutally raped a 14-year-old high school student on Thursday. Sanchez had a pending illegal alien removal case (deportation order) pending, which was not carried out while immigration activists tried to block the deportation.

Sanchez and Montano dragged the 14-year-old victim into a school bathroom where they repeatedly gang raped her during school session. The sickening story is partially explained in the local news coverage:


You might also remember Glenn Beck, Dana Loesch and Senator Ted Cruz going to the Texas border during the summer of 2014 to bring teddy bears and soccer balls to the future rapists.

DHS Says Even Vehicular Homicide Is Not Enough To Detain Illegal Immigrants

Truth Revolt -- In a letter to Congress released Monday, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Director Sarah Saldana said that even being convicted of homicide isn’t enough to ensure that illegal aliens are detained by federal agents.

The Washington Times reports that neither Obama administration policy nor federal law required her agency to detain Edwin "Eswin" Mejia, an illegal immigrant from Honduras charged with vehicular homicide earlier this year in Nebraska.

ICE first encountered Mejia at the Arizona border in May 2013 when he was 16. The Border Patrol admitted him and turned him over to social services. He eventually went to live with his brother in the U.S. (it's unclear if his brother also is here illegally). Then this January, a drunken Mejia was street racing in Omaha when he hit a vehicle driven by Sarah Root, 21, who later died from her injuries.

Mejia posted bond on the homicide charge, and ICE officers did not come pick him up for detention, allowing him to abscond. Director Saldana said her officers should have detained him of their own volition and that she has notified all of her bureaus nationwide to do a better job of evaluating people they’re called to detain, reports the Times.

“After further review, we believe that further enforcement action would have served an important federal interest in this case,” Saldana said in a letter to Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse. She said her agency has asked Honduran officials to see if he shows up back there.

That wasn't enough for Senator Sasse, who called her response “an embarrassment” to her agency. He took up the issue with Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, demanding in a letter to know who specifically was responsible for not picking up Mejia:

Why did ICE decline to detain Mr. Mejia, despite several requests to do so by the Douglas County Police Department? Were each of these requests denied on a case-by-case basis?

In her letter to Sasse, Saldana also said that being charged with vehicular homicide wasn’t enough to make Mejia a priority under standards set by President Obama and Homeland Secretary Johnson in 2014, who announced a policy of deporting only those with the most serious criminal records. Those policies mean that more than 9 million of the estimated 11 million illegals in the U.S. have little fear of being kicked out, notes the Times.

Even if Mejia were convicted of the charge, ICE still wouldn’t have to hold him, Saldana wrote:

Even if he were convicted of the offense, motor vehicle homicide — driving under the influence, the conviction would not constitute a crime of violence under the immigration laws, and consequently, would not constitute an aggravated felony. The conviction would not render him subject to mandatory detention, nor would it significantly impact his eligibility to apply for relief or protection from removal.

Mejia was already facing deportation under his unaccompanied minor case, though that proceeding has dragged on. His court appearance was slated for later this month — nearly three years after he first entered the U.S.

Why would a government allow an invasion of illegals, and then allow those to stay who are a clear and present danger to their citizens? This is the 'transformation of America' that Obama promised us. And apparently this is just fine with those who voted for him as the president, twice.

Breitbart -- According to the Chicago Tribune, 14 people were shot in a 15 hour window this week. Six people were killed, including a pregnant woman and a grandmother and eight others were injured, including a two-year-old child and an 11-month old baby.

The first of those shootings occurred Monday evening when a family on their way back from an outing was gunned down in the Back of the Yards, leaving a pregnant mother and grandmother dead and three others — including an 11-month-old boy — wounded, police said.

The second multiple shooting occurred about five hours later when two men and the mother of a 4-year-old were killed and two other people were wounded near a playground in the Fuller Park neighborhood on the South Side, according to police. A sister said the woman was killed coming to the aid of a relative.

The burst of violence follows two straight weekends when more than 50 people were shot in Chicago. That’s the first time that has happened on back-to-back weekends over the four years the Tribune has been tracking shootings. In August, more than 40 were shot on four consecutive weekends.

A Tribune analysis shows that 2,300 people have been shot in Chicago so far this year -- 400 more than during the same time period last year. Homicides are up by 21 percent.

The shootings are a combination of drive-by shootings and accidental shootings.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said "enough is enough" and blamed gang-bangers for the violence and called for harsher penalties for gun-related crimes.

"You can say this happened in the neighborhood of the Back of the Yards, but everybody (who) woke up this morning, or heard it last night, felt a pain of anguish, and it’s time that our criminal justice system and the laws as it relates to access to guns and the penalties for using 'em reflect the values of the people of the city of Chicago" said the Mayor.

We continue to hear the chant 'Black Lives Matter', if the blacks believe that why are so many blacks killing blacks? Barkley: Public 'Too Stupid' To Understand People On TV, Radio Have Hidden Agendas

Breitbart -- In a portion of an interview conducted with Seth Davis of Campus Insiders, former NBA great Charles Barkley discussed his remarks on Ferguson, MO and the hazards of the destructive behavior regarding the Ferguson grand jury aftermath had on the African-American community.

Barkley reiterated his point that nothing positive comes from looting and rioting black businesses. However, he said of his critics that attacked him for being outspoken on this possibly have unrealized hidden agendas.

“Listen, nothing positive can come when you’re looting and rioting your own businesses,” Barkley said. “That’s not positive. It’s not constructive. It’s self-defeating. I can sympathize. I understand we had some tragedy in our community. But burning down our own buildings, looting our own businesses – that doesn’t help anybody. And that just makes the noise worse. You know, instead of getting to the problem and the issue, I think one of the reasons people come to me is they know I’m not afraid of any subject and that comes with a price at times. But I never have a hidden agenda. I’m going to honest and fair.”

“You know, most of the people on television and radio have a hidden agenda,” he continued. “But I think the general public is too stupid to understand that. Everyone says Charles is going to be brutally honest and straightforward – until they say I disagree with their side of the equation. You can’t have your cake and eat it, too.”

Blog author's comments - It's good to hear Charles Barkley speak the truth about many of the 'African-Americans'. And because he is a black man he is not supposed to say what he does concerning the blacks' crime of looting and violent protests. I have no doubt that Barkley is talking about the liberal media when he says “You know, most of the people on television and radio have a hidden agenda";-- I am sure he has made some enemies with the liberal media and in the black communities with what he says during this interview. NBC's Bob Costas On Sunday Night Football With Gun Control Lecture

The Blaze -- Discussing the shocking murder-suicide that rocked the NFL over the weekend, when Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher fatally shot his girlfriend and then committed suicide in front of his coach and general manager, Costas argued that domestic disputes are more likely to end in such a fashion if the government does not limit people’s access to firearms.


Costas said: Writer Jason Whitlock, with whom I do not always agree but today said it so well that we may as well just quote or paraphrase from the end of his article.

Our current gun culture, Whitlock wrote, ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead.’

Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it.

In the coming days, Jovan Belcher’s actions and their possible connection to football will be analyzed. Who knows? But here, wrote Jason Whitlock, is what I believe: If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.

Blog author's comments - From listening to Bob Costas over the years what he said does not surprise me. He was able to give us his opinion because it's probably also what his employer thinks. I know it's what the left believes.

The writer Costas quotes said - "If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today." Belcher was clearly irrational when he killed his girl friend and took his own life. They also had a child which Belcher was not thinking about.

There will be some people who think because Jovan Belcher played professional football and may have had concussions...that this could have contributed to what he did. I obviously don't know the answer as to why Jovan Belcher did this. But I do know it is wrong to blame our Second Amendment and pass more gun control laws.

According to the Cato Institute -- States that allow registered citizens to carry concealed weapons have lower crime rates than those that don't. The 31 states that have "shall issue" laws allowing private citizens to carry concealed weapons have, on average, a 24 percent lower violent crime rate, a 19 percent lower murder rate and a 39 percent lower robbery rate than states that forbid concealed weapons. In fact, the nine states with the lowest violent crime rates are all right-to-carry states. Remarkably, guns are used for self-defense more than 2 million times a year, three to five times the estimated number of violent crimes committed with guns.
