They don’t have a clue. As I explained for the Conservative Tribune this morning, “After North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un threatened the United States again during a speech televised on New Year’s Day, warning that his ‘nuclear button is always on the desk of my office,’ President Donald Trump struck back in a way former President Barack Obama never would have.”
“North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the ‘Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times,’” Trump cheekily tweeted.
“Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!” he added."
Donald J. Trump Tweet
@realDonaldTrump
North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un just stated that the “Nuclear Button is on his desk at all times.” Will someone from his depleted and food starved regime please inform him that I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!
The media subsequently suffered a massive meltdown that continues to this moment, with the wackos at CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, NPR, etc., losing their collective minds over Trump’s tweet.
Some in the conservative media — I see you over there at RedState, my weebelization — complained as well, but at least their grievances sounded thoughtful and non-hyperbolic.
As for the leftist’s media claims hat Trump’s “childish” tweet might lead America into a nuclear war, that’s just nonsense.
[O]nly hours after Trump posted the tweet, North Korea announced that it intends to reopen communication with South Korea, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency.
According to ABC News, Kim cut off his southern neighbor in 2015 “in retaliation for the shutdown of a joint-industrial park in Kaesong, North Korea, by South Korea’s previous administration, led by conservative Park Geun-hye.”
And now all of a sudden he’s speaking with South Korea? Why is that?
I honestly don’t know why, though I personally suspect Kim may be acting better now because of — not in spite of — Trump’s tweet.
Just to be clear, the explicit (though I might argue ostensible as well) purpose of the communication is for the North Koreans to discuss the prospect of “sending a team to the Winter Olympics in the South next month,” according to the BBC.
But that still doesn’t fully explain why Kim is suddenly willing to speak with the South Koreans.
“Perhaps I’m just what hateful liberals would call a ‘right-wing nutjob,’ but I think that it’s possible Kim is beginning to realize that the tricks and games he pulled during appeaser in chief Barack Obama’s time in office won’t cut it anymore.”
All this is moot, though.
Here’s the more pressing point: “The arrogant media assumes Trump’s saber-rattling tweet might provoke Kim into launching a nuclear strike against the United States, thus launching us into a nuclear war, correct?”
If that were true, though, why then would Kim first reach out to one of our top allies, South Korea? It makes zero sense and doesn’t jive even remotely with the media’s narrative.
Here are the facts:
Trump’s tweet wasn’t “childish” so much as it was an example of saber rattling, which I described at the Chicago Tribune as “an ancient tradition in which a military leader displays his might (or saber) in a way meant to bewilder (or rattle) his opponent and remind him who’s really boss. It was basically Trump talking smack to Kim in response to Kim having first talked smack to him.”
Moreover, while the president’s tweet may or may not have spurred Kim into reaching out to South Korea (I think perhaps it did), what we know with 1,000,000 certainty is that the tweet has not and will not lead America into a nuclear war with the rogue regime.

Blog Author's Comments: Finally America is getting her guts back and it is causing the liberals to get their shorts in a wad. Keep doing what you are doing President Trump, the real America is behind you. The feminized media is losing it's mind and it is a blessed thing to watch and see. I thank the founders of our country that they had the foresight to understand that we needed the electoral college to preserve balance within the electorate.
It is also refreshing to see a Republican President stand up to the mainstream media when he calls them out for the 'Fake News' they spew. They cannot believe a man, the President of the United States, has the gall to call them what they are, liars and fiction writers. The MSM and Site cohorts are just doing what they do, and that is speak ill of Republicans, that is their narrative. They have no analysis, no inquisitiveness and no sincerity and - attack the President all the time.
