Fox And ESPN Won't Show Anthem Live Anymore...

Via. Washington Examiner

Fox and ESPN think they can squash the NFL protest controversy by not airing the National Anthem live this weekend. It's unclear whether CBS and NBC plan to air the anthem live.

The networks no longer have a monopoly on how the news is dispersed. Footage of players kneeling and or staying in the locker room during the Anthem will be posted on social media for the world to see.

ESPN and Fox will not air the Anthem live this weekend according to a CNN report.

The networks didn’t air the National Anthem last week in an attempt to put out the fires, however; we the people still saw what they were up to because Vice President Mike Pence walked out of the Indianapolis Colts-San Francisco 49ers game Sunday after 49ers players decided to kneel during the Anthem.

As previously reported, Roger Goodell issued a statement on Tuesday saying the league believes everyone should stand during the national anthem.

GOODELL THEN FOLDED!

The NFL announced Friday that it is not seeking a mandate to force players to stand for the National Anthem.

The NFL hit a new low last Monday night — in ratings.

Monday’s night game was down double-digits from last year’s game.

Thursday night football ratings were also down.

The NFL is hurting as the disrespect of the national anthem continues.

Fans are burning gear, sponsors are dropping and stadiums are sparse; the NFL is done.

This controversy is not going away. Americans will continue to boycott the NFL; networks can’t stop the boycott by simply refusing to air the players kneeling. Do they really think we are that stupid?
Blog Author's Comments: So ESPN and Fox are going to solve the problem? I don't think so. If the NFL survives it may require some rebuilding to attain the popularity it once had. The owners may have to adjust some of the player’s contracts and this couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of un-American thugs. Their protests and disrespect may also hurt the salaries of those who will be playing in the league in the future. This shows that the salary Commissioner Roger Goodell has been making has not been earned or deserved.

Finally, Goodell has a problem and takes the easy way out along with most of the team owners. The revenue drop is real. Let the players continue their racist boycott. Advertisers are leaving and others have demanded rebates for the lower viewership. At the end off the day, it is all about the money. As the revenue for tickets and merchandise continues to sink lower, the taxpayer subsidies should also stop, and all tax-exemptions revoked. The owners are going to have to cut-back somewhere and it's going to be in those multi-million dollar contracts. We the patriotic American people do not need the National Football League.

Lou Dobbs Dismatles NFL "Ingrates"
Who Kneel During National Anthem...

The Hill -- Fox News’ Lou Dobbs unleashed on the NFL and supported Pence’s decision to walk out. His tweet immediately went viral.

Lou Dobbs Tweeted:
"The Hell with the NFL - MAGA Donald Trump".

The last place one wants to be is on the other end of Fox Business host Lou Dobbs’ razor sharp tongue. Dobbs fired off quite the zinger at NFL “ingrates,” who kneel during the National Anthem.

Lou Dobbs: ESPN Suspended Jemele Hill To Save Its Bottom Line

Lou Dobbs Commentary: A Few Thoughts Now On NFL
vs. President Trump On Veterans And National Anthem

"Fox Business host Lou Dobbs said NFL players are “ingrates” for believing “that standing for the national anthem” constitutes oppression.

Dobb’s comments come after San Francisco 49ers safety Eric Reid commented on Vice President Pence’s decision to leave the game between the 49ers and Indianapolis Colts shortly after several 49ers kneeled during the national anthem.

Reid told reporters after the game that Pence’s decision was a “stunt” and showed what “systemic oppression” looks like.

“It’s no wonder that ESPN is struggling and losing subscribers facing higher costs and a decline in ad revenue, and that’s where we are in this NFL player-led protest,” Dobbs said on his primetime program."

Blog Author's Comments: The Union has ruined the NFL, face it, we have out grown unions and don't need them. The unions have also ruined much of our education system. The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has again proven that he is worthless, in the way he has mishandled the entire situation. The owners should definitely replace him with someone that can handle the job. This entire scenario is about race and Goodell does not want to upset or offend the blacks, who make up 75 percent of the players.

As for the players, their protests are just something more to draw attention to themselves. I don't believe they actually care about helping the young blacks. If they did, they would go to the inner cities and spend some time talking to the young black men. Or contribute some of their money to help them. If they want to help the blacks, which they say are the victims of police brutality, they are free to council many of them to stay out of trouble and obey the laws. In fact, many of the players should also obey the laws and attempt to stay out of trouble.

I haven't the patience or tolerance for the disgraceful protests being perpetrated against America. These true ingrates should get a grip and cut out the phony issue drivel. But meantime, don't buy anything associated with the NFL and just let them run it into the ground where their knees are. To Lou Dobbs: Thank you for standing up for America, welcome to the basket of Deplorables.

Vice President Pence Leaves NFL Game
Out Of Disgust With Anthem Protesters

Down Trend -- Vice President Mike Pence was to have attended today’s National Football League game between the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers but chose to leave after several black players chose to use his presence to make an anti-American political statement.

The Colts were to have honored longtime player and future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning during a ceremony but while the home team respected the flag by standing, the actions of the opposing San Francisco 49ers were seen as sufficiently disrespectful to the Veep that he departed the venue before kickoff.

As reported by Indianapolis Fox affiliate Fox 59 “VP Mike Pence leaves Colts game because 49ers players knelt during anthem”:

Vice President Mike Pence decided to leave the Indianapolis Colts game Sunday because some 49ers players knelt during the national anthem.

“I left today’s Colts game because President Trump and I will not dignify any event that disrespects our soldiers, our Flag, or our National Anthem. At a time when so many Americans are inspiring our nation with their courage, resolve, and resilience, now, more than ever, we should rally around our Flag and everything that unites us. While everyone is entitled to their own opinions, I don’t think it’s too much to ask NFL players to respect the Flag and our National Anthem. I stand with President Trump, I stand with our soldiers, and I will always stand for our Flag and our National Anthem.”

It was announced Friday that Pence would attend the game with the second lady. The game is special, because Peyton Manning’s jersey will be retired at halftime and he will be inducted into the Ring of Honor.

Before the game, he tweeted that he was looking forward to honor “the great career of #18 Peyton Manning.”
Pence’s actions will no doubt be seized on by those who have polluted the NFL with their racial grievances and hatred of President Trump as “proof” that he stands for white supremacy and Nazism but he was dead right to leave and many of the other fans in attendance should have done so as well instead of being subjected to the politics of radical leftist racial grievance mongers that have driven the league’s popularity to historic lows.
Blog Author's Comments: Good job Mr. Vice President, none of us no longer needs the NFL because of their racist traitors and the gutless Commissioner and owners. The Vice President leading by example, showing that it should be done and how it is done. When the statistics are tallied by Tuesday they will show another drop in viewership.

The Commissioner Roger Goodell and team owners will, however, insist that it is just a fluke. Meanwhile, not only are fans rejecting the NFL, but some advertisers are as well. Vice President Mike Pence, thank you from all patriotic, freedom loving Americans.

Alejandro Villanueva Defies Steelers' Anthem
Protest And Takes Field With Hand Over Heart

Breitbart -- All but one of the Pittsburgh Steelers decided to protest by staying in their locker room, during the playing of the national anthem at this afternoon’s game in Chicago. The lone dissenter was former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva who bucked the team’s decision and took the field, anyway, hand over his heart and helmet under his arm.

On Sunday morning, reports emerged that the Steelers had decided to stay in their locker room despite league rules requiring the team to be on the sidelines during the playing of the national anthem.

By game time, the team did, indeed, fulfill their announced intentions. However, Villanueva defied his team and took the field:

The entire Pittsburgh Steelers team stayed in the locker room for national anthem except for Villanueva who served 3 tours in Afghanistan.

This isn’t the first time the Steelers’ offensive tackle has been at odds with fellow players over anthem protests.

Last year, Villanueva criticized Colin Kaepernick for his protests during the national anthem:

“I don’t know if the most effective way is to sit down during the national anthem with a country that’s providing you freedom, providing you $16 million a year … when there are black minorities that are dying in Iraq and Afghanistan for less than $20,000 a year,” Villanueva said of the anthem protests.

The Mississippi native has a good reason for his position. He is himself a veteran with three tours of duty in Afghanistan.

Villanueva was a Captain in the U.S. Army during much of his service overseas and now stands at the rank of Major in the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. He was also the recipient of the Bronze Star with “V” device.

Even as he continued his Army career, Villanueva was given several workouts with teams such as the Cincinnati Bengals and the Philadelphia Eagles. He remained unsigned after the Eagles took him off the practice squad, though, until Steelers’ coach Mike Tomlin signed him in 2014.

Villanueva is now starting left tackle with a four-year, $24 million contract with the Steelers.

Blog Author's Comments: Alejandro Villanueva is a veteran and a hero. He understands the meaning of the flag and the anthem. The other spoiled, privileged impudent children, on his team and around the league, apparently have no clue just how many men and women made the ultimate sacrifice of their lives so the protestors are able to play their game for large salaries.

That's what the flag and anthem are about and someone should tell them that. But it will not be many of the team owners or the NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. But, because our president was truthful with what he said, now it is all his fault. Thank you Alejandro Villanueva for showing the other members of your team what a real man and patriot does. The Pittsburgh head coach Mike Tomlin was of no help either, he also hid in the locker room while the anthem was played. I hope that President Trump invites Alejandro Villanueva and only him, with his family to the White House for a private tour and dinner.

Kaepernick's Mommy Rushes To
Defend Her Baby From Mean Man Trump

Down Trend -- Like a cyst that has filled up to a dangerous level, the sac has ruptured and the accumulated poisoned pus of months of rage from the left – particularly black millionaire athletes – has spewed out all across the media today.

The national anthem protests that have been taking place since last summer on NFL sidelines and the ongoing frustration that all of the leftist pressure brought to bear hasn’t resulted in Colin Kaepernick – the narcissistic militant who started all of the trouble – finding a job finally erupted on Saturday.

President Donald Trump finally weighed in on the divisive controversy that has been devouring the NFL alive like a malignant form of cancer and as could be expected, his input wasn’t in favor of the wealthy ingrates who revel in wiping their asses with the flag and spitting on police and the troops.

Trump’s magnificent open field tackle on the miscreant sons of bitches who deserve to be fired form their antics on the sidelines has brought forth torrents of condemnation. Even NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell came out and shot himself in the foot by ripping the ‘divisive’ comments but he is a man who bears a large share of responsibility for a situation that he himself allowed to fester instead of acting forcefully when it began.

The mean man’s criticism of her son’s disciples even brought out Kaepernick’s mommy who rushed onto the playground to hide her poor, abused child behind her skirts to save him from the playground bully.
The mother of former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is standing by her son after President Trump blasted NFL players who take a knee during the national anthem.

At a fiery campaign rally in Huntsville, Ala., on Friday, Trump took aim at professional athletes who kneel in protest when the national anthem is sung at sporting events, saying that players that do so should be fired and urging fans to leave the games.

"Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, ‘Get that son of a b—- off the field right now,'” Trump said.

The comment was an implicit swipe at Kaepernick, the current NFL free agent who gained notoriety last year for taking a knee during the national anthem to protest police misconduct and social injustice.

Kaepernick’s mother, Teresa Kaepernick, fired back after Trump’s remarks.

“Guess that makes me a proud b—-!” she wrote on Twitter Friday.
She definitely has half of that right.

This doesn’t reflect well on the “race messiah” himself who is having women do his fighting for him. It was his radical piece of tail girlfriend who launched the racist tweet that likely snuffed out the man with the Funkadelic ‘fro’s final real shot at a job with the Baltimore Ravens. Comparing the team’s owner to a racist plantation owner wasn’t exactly the way to close a deal.

Now it’s mommy time.

Kaepernick is just a eunuch with a big mouth and a pack of losers who have glommed onto him as if he were Mohandas freaking Gandhi instead of a guy who is a borderline backup quarterback not worth the trouble that he would cause to any team that would sign him. Just ask the 49ers and Ravens.
Blog Author's Comments: I suppose Kaepernick and all the rest of the ungrateful children who are now following his lead, are pleased with themselves. Have any of them ever thanked a veteran, or even thought of the men and women about their age, some younger and older, now in combat in places around the world? They are risking their lives for their country so these ungrateful slugs can play their games and make millions, while people in the military are putting their lives on the line for peanuts.

It really is too bad that Kaepernick’s mother didn't have the intelligence or wherewithal to instill some pride, respect, and maturity in her boy. He really thinks he has accomplished something great, and all he has done is look like the fool he is, as have all the rest who have now sided with him. Kaepernick is a racist one time athlete. He now needs his mommy when thing get complicated, especially when he doesn't have a coach.

Pittsburgh Steelers Legend Says Teammates
Would Have Gone Old School On Anthem Protestors

Jack Lambert - Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Great Linebacker

Down Trend -- Over the years the NFL has really lost a lot as it shifted from a game with players who were real men into a multi-billion-dollar entertainment industry where the quarterbacks may as well be wearing skirts.

Not only has the on the field product sucked out loud thanks to endless replays, game stoppages, arcane rules and lousy officiating, but there just isn’t any American pride exhibited by far too many of the pampered multi-millionaire players who have no empathy towards those who have to go out and work a real job to earn their daily bread.

This would especially be the case with the national anthem protesting crybabies like Colin Kaepernick and his disciples, a cult if there ever was one as well as one that threatens the financial future of the league itself with mounting boycotts.

Perhaps I am old but I never liked all of the ass-shaking, show-boating, ESPN play of the day style of nonsense and back in the day, a guy like Ray Nietzsche or Dick Butkus would never have allowed that style of exhibitionism. Locker rooms policed themselves whenever it became necessary which wasn’t often because players respected the flag, the country and understood their NFL privilege.

That being said, an interesting – and soon to be controversial – comment has been made by Pittsburgh Steelers Hall of Famer Franco Harris on the national anthem protesters. The members of the Steel Curtain defense would have made sure that the first time that Kaepernick took a knee, that he would have been wearing his ass for a hat.

According to the Washington Times “Steelers legend Franco Harris says teammates would’ve quashed national anthem protests”:
NFL great Franco Harris says there is no way national anthem protests inspired by former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick would have caught on in his era.

The four-time Super Bowl champion and man known for the “Immaculate Reception” sat down for a wide-ranging interview with Mediaite’s John Ziegler over the Labor Day weekend. The two talked about the racial strife of the late 1960s and his time at Penn State when today’s Kaepernick-inspired protests came up.

“When [a professional] puts that suit on, it’s not just about him and his position and the things that he wants to back and wants to believe in, because the team has to come first,” Mr. Harris said during the podcast. “If he wants to make statements, make a position, then that’s fine. Go do that. There’s no reason why you couldn’t do that after practice on another platform than doing it with his suit on at the stadium. […] That was his personal position that he wanted to take.”

The NFL Hall of Fame fullback then said that team leaders would have quashed any national anthem protests before Steelers head coach Chuck Noll needed to get involved.

“I don’t think it would have been Chuck,” Mr. Harris said Sunday. “I think that there would have been two guys on our team […] who would have said, ‘Hey.’ […] We had two of the meanest guys in football, who I think would’ve dealt with it that way, and that would’ve been Joe Greene and Jack Lambert.”

Click Link For "Mean Joe" Greene Highlights Video

Yes indeed, the prima donnas and social justice warriors in today’s locker rooms would benefit greatly were a couple of guys like Jack Lambert and Mean Joe Greene been around to offer them a “lesson” in the proper way to conduct themselves.
Blog Author's Comments: Colin Kaepernick refusing to stand for the National Anthem. A sad commentary and a disgrace that needs to be immediately corrected. Back when football was played by men with passion about the game, Franco Harris, Jack Lambert, Mean Joe Greene and so many others, until approximately 10-12 years ago.

The NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has his hand in so many places within the league where it does not belong. He is ruining the game. If it were up to him the NFL would become a flag football league. I do agree "the prima donnas and social justice warriors in today’s locker rooms would benefit greatly were a couple of guys like Jack Lambert and Mean Joe Greene been around to offer them a “lesson” in the proper way to conduct themselves."

Colin Kaepernick had no problem taking the millions he has made playing in the NFL. But now he has no contract because he has no talent and no one wants him.

Black NFL Quarterback Refuses To Stand For The National Anthem

During the last preseason game San Francisco 49er's quarterback Colin Kaepernick refused to stand up during the playing of the national anthem. He said:

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” ~ Colin Kaepernick

So what is going on? There is a little more to the story than most are willing to accept. The media and the NFL will avoid these discussions like the plague, because he is black and for other reasons.

During the off-season Colin Kaepernick converted to Islam. He is also engaged to Black Lives Matter activist and hip-hop radio personality DJ Nessa Diab.

Kaepernick was adopted at the age of a few weeks by a white couple. I seriously doubt he was 'oppressed' by his parents. He is a player in the NFL making millions for sitting on the bench.

Blog Author's Comments -- Kaepernick was once a rising star as an NFL quarterback but the past few years he has played very poorly. He is a backup quarterback for San Francisco, being oppressed by making quite a large salary. He receives millions of dollars to play a game and lives in a country that allows him to be free and he has the nerve to disrespect the American flag and those who have died to give him the right to be free.

I am so damn tired of people like this complaining and protesting for attention. Our troops and police are putting their lives on the line every day. There are so many military people who have died for this country, who have given Kaepernick the right to whine about how tough his people’s lives are.

And lastly, Colin Kaepernick can make the decision to sit on the bench during the national anthem, and he's applauded for courageous dissent and protest by all the usual suspects in the liberal sports media. But the Dallas Cowboys asked to put a sticker on their helmet this season to honor police officers, particularly the five officers killed in that mass assassination attempt, and the NFL said, 'No, no!' I guess it would be unnecessarily provocative to honor the police.

Harry Reid Says He Won't Attend Redskins Game Until Team Changes Name

Fox News -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he won't attend a Washington Redskins home game until the football team changes its controversial name.

In a letter late last week to the team's president, Reid called the Redskins name a racial slur that disparages the American people. The Nevada Democrat, who said he represents 27 tribes in his state, rejected Bruce Allen's invitation to a Redskins home game until the team does "the right thing" and changes its name.

"I will not stand idly by while a professional sports team promotes a racial slur as a team name and disparages the American people," Reid said in the letter. "Nor will I consider your invitation to attend a home game until your organization chooses to do the right thing and change its offensive name."

Reid said the matter is "personal" for him.

Last month, the Redskins responded to Senate Democrats who said the nickname is a racial slur, saying it is “respectful” to Native Americans and suggested the lawmakers didn't have all of the facts.

In a letter to Reid, Allen wrote: "Our use of `Redskins' as the name of our football team for more than 80 years has always been respectful of and shown reverence toward the proud legacy and traditions of Native Americans."

Redskins owner Dan Snyder has vowed never to change the name.

Blog author's comments - Harry Reid promising not to attend Washington Redskins games has to be exciting news for Redskins fans. The games just got more desirable knowing Reid will not be at the stadium. I doubt very much if Reid would attend a game even if the 'Redskins' changed their name. So now Redskin games will be that much better with one less, arrogant, elitist, evil little man in the stands. But this is not over; Harry Reid does not like to lose. Hopefully Reid is the minority leader in the Senate after the 2014 elections.

U.S. Patent Office Cancels Redskins Trademark Registration, Says Name Is Disparaging

Blog author's comments - In my opinion this ruling has Obama and Reid written all over it. 'The ruling does not mean that the Redskins have to change the name of the team. It does affect whether the team and the NFL can make money from merchandising because it limits the team’s legal options when others use the logos and the name on T shirts, sweatshirts, beer glasses and license plate holders.'

'In addition, Native Americans have won at this stage before, in 1999. But the team and the NFL won an appeal to federal court in 2009. The court did not rule on the merits of the case, however, but threw it out, saying that the plaintiffs didn’t have standing to file it. The team is likely to make the same appeal this time.'

Super Bowl XLVIII

DENVER BRONCOS

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

Blog author’s comments – I did not do so well two weeks ago with my choices for the winners of the AFC and NFC championship games, so today in Super Bowl 48 I will go with Denver over Seattle. I have watched every Super Bowl game since they began. Some have been mundane games and others have been very good games.

Super Bowl Sunday for many, is another national holiday. There are also many people that will watch this game who have not seen another game during the entire National Football League season. For many it is just a chance to party. The pre-game and half-time shows, along with the commercials, have at times overshadowed the game itself. It was not like this the first decade or more that the Super Bowl game has been played.

President Congratulates NFL Eagles Owner

Obama applauds Eagles for giving Vick second chance

nbcsports.com - Though the Eagles didn’t have a chance to make news on the field Sunday tonight, they made some more news off the field.

Peter King of NBC reported during Football Night in America that President Barack Obama recently called Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie to congratulate the team for giving quarterback Mike Vick a second chance.

President Obama explained that a level playing field rarely exists for prisoners who have completed their sentences. Vick’s success gives all of them hope.

In our view, Obama’s gesture also provides Vick with the kind of positive reinforcement that will help keep him out of any trouble during the 2011 off season, once he is left to his own devices.

Blog author's comments - "Cruelty to humans is occasionally understandable and even forgivable, but cruelty to animals somehow seems beyond redemption."- Philip R. Craig.

I do not believe the President should have made the call to congratulate the Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie. Does anyone believe if the Eagles were now 3-12 or if Vick was a white player Obama would have called him?

In my opinion Michael Vick should not have been allowed to ever again play in the NFL.

I cannot stand to hear of any animal being mistreated. The relationship between a dog or cat and their human care giver is something special.

My cat and dog have passed away and I can say without any doubt, that what they gave me the entire time we were together can only be described as love.

For Vick to exploit such a bond, to torture and kill those who only wanted to treat him with affection is unforgivable.

The Two Greatest NFL Linebackers - Ever!

NFL Linebackers - Jack Lambert and Dick Butkus

Jack Lambert - Pittsburgh Steelers

John Harold "Jack" Lambert (born July 8, 1952) He was a member of four winning Super Bowl teams in his 11 year career with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Lambert was selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1990.

Lambert prided himself on his ability to hit hard and intimidate the opposition. By the time of his retirement, he was widely recognized as one of the great middle-linebackers in the history of the game.

His four front teeth were missing as a result of taking an elbow in basketball during high school. Although he had a removable denture he wore in public, he didn't wear it during games, and Lambert's toothless snarl became a signature of the famous Steeler defense and led to his being referred to as "Count Dracula in Cleats"

Dick Butkus
- Chicago Bears

Richard Marvin "Dick" Butkus (born December 9, 1942) He is widely regarded as the greatest linebacker of his generation and of all time. He was one of the most feared players of his era and appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated in 1970 with the caption "The Most Feared Man in the Game."

He had one of his most productive seasons in 1970 with 132 tackles, 84 assists, 3 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. He was forced to retire after multiple knee injuries in 1973.

He became a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979. He played 9 seasons in the NFL for the Chicago Bears.

Blog author's comments - Not much else to add, the videos speak for themselves. I was lucky to watch these two Hall of Fame players during their entire careers.

Of course the NFL game has changed so much since these two greats played. The hits these players put on opposing players, especially quarterbacks, would never be allowed in today's game.
