‘Simply Not True’: Biden Says He Isn’t Holding Back US Energy Production

President Joe Biden said his administration hasn’t prevented domestic energy production, even after more than a year of pushing policies designed to phase out fossil fuels.

“It is simply not true that my administration or policies are holding back domestic energy production,” Biden remarked at the White House on Tuesday. “That is simply not true.”

The president announced earlier in his speech that the U.S. would ban all oil imports from Russia in response to the nation’s invasion of Ukraine. The U.S. imported more than 670,000 barrels of oil per day from Russia in 2021, government data showed.

🙶 Biden said that energy companies have increased energy production during his tenure. However, the Energy Information Administration, which tracks global energy markets, forecasted on Feb. 18 that the U.S. would again become a net importer of oil in 2022

More, fossil fuel industry groups have urged the Biden administration to reverse its energy policies and prioritize domestic production of oil and natural gas in the wake of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Both Republicans and Democrats have urged the president to open up avenues of domestic energy production amid the Ukraine crisis, which has roiled global oil markets.


“The United States has shown its global energy dominance over the past decade. Unfortunately, this has been threatened by the current Administration’s policies against domestic natural gas and oil production,” Independent Petroleum Association of America COO Jeff Eshelman told the Daily Caller News Foundation in early March.

🙶 Since taking office, President Joe Biden has waged a war on fossil fuels, nixing the Keystone XL oil pipeline, ditching an oil drilling project in Alaska, introducing sweeping fossil fuel regulations and making it harder for utilities to gain approval for natural gas projects. His administration has also defied multiple court-ordered deadlines to restart the federal oil and gas leasing program after Biden attempted to halt the program altogether.

Biden has also aggressively pushed renewable forms of energy despite doubts from experts.

“We share the goal of reducing reliance on foreign energy sources and urge policymakers to advance American energy leadership and expand domestic production to counter Russia’s influence in global energy markets,” Mike Sommers, the president and chief executive of industry group the American Petroleum Institute, said in a statement.

Joe Biden has said the country needs to urgently move away from oil to cleaner fuels if the world has a chance of averting the worst effects of climate change. The rise in fuel production began when Biden and administration declared war on fossil fuel. If you review any of Biden's actions over his life in politics, it is never what is good for the country, only for him or the party, in that order.

He is also a pathological liar. As he lied in the first link 'remarked'. He and his administration are the only reason we are now paying such high prices.

He could and he knows that if he would reinstate the work and production on the Keystone pipeline and other sources of US oil, we would not have any problems now. We were energy independent under President Trump and what do we have now? Gasoline costs of $4 and more per gallon. Thousands of people lost good paying jobs building and working the Keystone pipeline but due to Biden's whim and obsession with climate change, global warming, and environmental causes they are gone.

He has been told to get rid of all Trump directives and policies. On his own, he would not know what to do, I believe its Obama pulling his strings. We were selling not buying and it was good for us. It took a long time to achieve energy independence and on day one it was gone. This administration is a far cry from the one who put the people first, now it is only their Party. An energy independent United States is a formidable presence on the planet, yet another reason why the left does not like that we should think America first.

Tom Fitton: Well, under the current Republican leadership nothing is going to get done. It’s just not going to happen. I’ve been around too long to pretend that the same group that allowed it to go on during Trump’s years are going to turn on a dime and stop it during the Biden administration.

McCarthy and McConnell are weak Democrats at this point. Neither one supports or represents their Trump-voter base.

McCarthy and McConnell at times, are working against conservatives and have not worked in the best interest of President Trump. We knew what McConnell was long ago and they both think of the January 6th protestors as terrorists.

Pelosi: There Has To Be a Price To Pay For Republicans...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has been pushing for early voting in an effort to undermine Republicans’ efforts to appoint a new Supreme Court justice. On Friday, she urged Americans to undermine the GOP’s obligations by participating in early voting systems in their states.

Republicans have said they are simply trying to fulfill their obligation to the people of the United States. However, the speaker threatened the GOP by saying their decisions must have a consequence, which will come after the election.

“We have to make sure people know they must vote and must vote early,” stated Pelosi. “If the Republicans insist on going forward, then there has to be a price to pay.”

This came after Pelosi and other Democrats urged the Senate to vote on Barack Obama’s Supreme Court nomination ahead of the 2016 elections. Despite this, she has claimed Democrats will use “every arrow in their quiver” to stop Congress from voting on the Supreme Court nomination.

Democrat politicians are betting that their base voters will not bother doing any research, they have all been taught untruths, and blindly believe them.

I welcome this lady in joining many people in the Republican Party, and our President who believes in “We the people”. Most folks do not know their history, which makes the situation worse. Democrat policies are designed to keep many people down, when we need more patriots. This woman is educated and can think for herself, which is what the left fears the most.

It would make a world of difference, if many more people would stop and actually think about their lives and taking care of themselves. Our leaders put the trust of America in Fauci and Dr. Birx and not a small committee of doctors and researchers. No one voted for Dr. Fauci, but the Democrats certainly would. If a non-biased poll were taken, we would find that the majority of Americans do not have confidence in him.

The Midterm Election Was No 'Blue Wave' And If We Had To Lose One Chamber, Better The House Than The Senate

Certainly, I had hope we would hold the House. Now very little or nothing meaningful in terms of reforming government or advancing President Trump’s agenda is likely to happen legislatively when the chambers are split, but at least judicial nominations can move forward.

Democrats are thrilled that they have the House. Now there will be a Blue Wave of investigations and theatrics.There is going to be a lot of tension between the new far-left activists, and the traditional elderly Democrats who will be running committees. This presents opportunity and risk for President Trump. He is a dealmaker and there probably will be some things he and Pelosi can get together on, particularly if it means spending a lot of money on things like infrastructure. Some Democrats that were elected on a platform of resistance, will not want to give Trump any victories.

The election was a split decision. Some Americans protected President Trump by widening the republican margin in the Senate, but others rewarded the “resistance” by giving the House to the democrats. Both sides are claiming victory, but the truth is that political hatred in America is alive and growing. There are some radical leftists in the House who will seek attention by using their positions to disrupt the government.

President Trump now has a hostile House of Representatives joining a hateful media opposing him. That is another challenge. But if the President is shrewd in his tactics, which he is, and if the economy continues to advance, he can become even more powerful.

Additional Comments: President Trump performed a tireless task and not only saved, but greatly enhanced the Senate. Certainly, the Democrats can make trouble and cause gridlock with investigations, but that’s all they have. Trump, on the other hand, has a pen and a phone, and the beginnings of a reformed court system to back him up.

Pelosi will not pass any effective immigration law and fortunately, she doesn’t need to. We have good immigration laws and a functional enforcement apparatus. We just need someone who takes them seriously and is willing to enforce them, and that has nothing to do with the House. Conceivably, the House could strangle some of it via the budget, but since that would involve less spending, I don’t see the Democrats doing that. Their main goal is to make the President look bad in time for the election of 2020.

What is pathetic is to have to face off with Democrat 'leaders' such as Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters and Adam Schiff. These people will supposedly be guiding powerful seats and committees. The lesson learned, is there are some people who do not think before they vote.

Blog Author's Comments: The Kavanaugh confirmation has come to an end and the entire country saw it play out on the national stage. For many, it has led them to rethink where they stand on politics. One America's Jack Posobiec sat down with the founder of the #WalkAway movement to learn how this will affect the upcoming midterm elections.

This author is one person that is quite glad that this #WalkAway movement is beginning to happen. If this is the real deal, it will be supported by a large number of level headed people that care for America. Maybe, many years from now, this could be the new normal. But, I have to wonder about such a movement, due to the fact that there are so many low I.Q. individuals who stop, watch, listen to and believe much of what is regurgitated by the leftist mainstream media.

We will see if the liberal Democrats are a dying breed, after the 2018 midterm elections and the presidential election of 2020. It is difficult to believe how anyone who thinks for themselves could vote for someone on the left, after all their insanity the last two years. They have gone completely overboard with what they preach and how they conduct themselves.

In a quote purported to be from Winston Churchill, "If you're not a Liberal at 30, you have no heart. If you're still a Liberal at 40, you have no brain." Many of us thought and hoped that the Democrats shot themselves in the foot with the horrific way they treated Judge Brett Kavanaugh during his confirmations hearings. And this was not only from the youthful senators, who were there to mainly make a name for themselves, but many of the old guard. Let us hope many folks are waking up and seeing how dangerous the Democratic Party has become.

Talk is cheap as some wise man once said; the time for this #WalkAway movement to get a foot hold will be by voting for the Republican candidates who are running for office in the midterm elections.

Three Weak Republicans Deprived Us Of A Huge Victory, Even If Kavanaugh Is Eventually Confirmed

We’ve been humiliated by seeing our representatives forced to retreat, apologize, capitulate and crawl past the finish line. Jeff Flake is getting the blame for the further delay in the Senate confirmation floor vote for Brett Kavanaugh.

After announcing he would vote in favor of Kavanaugh at the Judiciary Committee, without any conditions, Flake was pulled aside in the Senate hearing anteroom and aggressively lobbied by Democrats. It was an unusual scene, with Chuck Grassley and other Republican Senators waiting for Flake to emerge so that a vote could be taken.

What happened out of sight was that Democrats prevailed on Flake to condition his vote on a supplemental FBI background investigation, to take up to a week. It was not clear, and still is not clear, what the scope of that investigation would be. Clearly, it includes the claims of Christine Ford that were the subject of the hearing and extensive Judiciary Committee investigation. But does it also include the completely uncorroborated claims of Deborah Ramirez and the bizarre claims of Julie Swetnick?

It’s supposed to be limited to a week.[…] After Kavanaugh’s testimony, Conservatives/Republicans/Deplorables were stoked. Trump was stoked. Victory over the devious, disingenuous, dishonest and disgusting Democrats who sought to destroy Kavanaugh was at hand. Anger over the War on Kavanaugh was to bring out a previously sleepy electorate, and possibly save Republican control of both houses of Congress.

But it was taken away by Flake’s announcement. Flake earlier in the morning had been cornered in an elevator by activists screaming at him. As a Democrat operative noted on Twitter: “Jeff Flake getting cornered in an elevator with his tail between his legs was one of the BIGGEST reasons he maneuvered for the FBI investigation into Kavanaugh. Just days ago, pundits were saying we shouldn’t confront politicians…”

Flake’s capitulation will embolden further confrontations against Republicans. Flake not only stole our victory, he emboldened the most aggressive of our opponents. But Flake wasn’t alone. He took this move with the support of Lisa Murkowski and Susan Collins.

We are hostages to these three. Flake is leaving, but Murkowski and Collins will continue their de facto control unless Republicans increase their numbers in the Senate.

Blog Author's Comments: The latest I hear is the FBI could be finished with their report concerning Judge Kavanaugh by Wednesday. So, why you may have thought or asked would Flake tell everyone that he would vote yes to confirm Kavanaugh and then ask for an additional FBI investigation? Because then he could be part of the “staged event” at the elevator with the paid Soros operatives. He is also a #NeverTrumper that wants President Trump to fail at whatever he does, too bad for Flake. Now he can backtrack on that yes vote. Clearly he never wanted to vote yes. And now he can use that spectacle as an excuse not to.

Have the Republicans forgotten how the Democrats conducted themselves during the Kavanaugh hearings last week, and why would they? I cannot comprehend the fact that the GOP always seems to be the party to capitulate, no matter how badly they are attacked. The only GOP Senator who was ready for battle, and was a surprise, was Sen. Lindsey Graham who did himself and his party proud. Now, I want Judge Kavanaugh voted on and confirmed and he will spend many years showing all who supported him what a great Supreme Court Justice he will be.

Lastly, we certainly are being held as hostages by the three turncoats. Flake who will soon be gone. But, Murkowski and Collins will continue their control against the majority of lawmakers and voters of their party, unless Republicans are able to increase their numbers in the Senate.

Senate Judiciary Committee Schedules Friday Morning Vote On Judge Kavanaugh

The Senate Judiciary Committee scheduled a Friday 9:30 AM ET vote on Kavanaugh according to a notice sent out by the Panel Tuesday evening.

Note: This is only a vote in the Judiciary Committee–the vote must still advance to the Senate floor where Judge Kavanaugh must reach the magic number of 51-49 votes.

Senator Grassley then warned about Ms. Ramirez’s flimsy accusations against Kavanaugh as reported in the New Yorker, “As you know, false statements made to the press are not subject to criminal penalty, but false statements to Congress are.”

Christine Ford is supposed to testify on Thursday about her decades-old, uncorroborated sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh.

Ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said on Tuesday afternoon that she has “no way of knowing” if Christine Ford will show up to Thursday’s hearing to testify against Kavanaugh.

Feinstein’s statement was in response to the Senate Republicans hiring a female prosecutor experienced in sex crimes to question Christine Ford.

Senate Republicans have signaled they may be working through the weekend to confirm Judge Kavanaugh as quickly as possible.

Blog Author's Comments: Christine Blasey Ford will not appear on Thursday and never intended to appear at any time. This is simply the Democrats using her to delay anything from happening with the Supreme Court nominee, until after the midterm elections. All of this has been a democrat ploy to delay the vote. But, they still have time in an attempt to try more tactics to stall the vote on Kavanaugh. This is all about attempting to destroy a good man and his family, while also stopping anything President Trump does that is good for the county. Democrats, elections do have consequences.

The Democrats will do anything they can to stop the Supreme Court from having a 5–4 conservative advantage. But, if and when the voting takes place, no one is certain if the Republicans have the votes to eventually place Judge Brett Kavanaugh on the high court. Some Republicans Prove Themselves More Worthless Than Rosie O'Donnell At A Beauty Pageant

The Daily Wire -- "As per the usual arrangement, on Sunday Republicans reached a deal with Democrats to pass a $1.1 trillion spending bill that will avoid a government shutdown through September. Here’s what’s in the bill: funding for Planned Parenthood, Obamacare, the Iran deal, the National Endowment for the Arts, and sanctuary cities. Here’s what’s not in the bill: funding for President Trump’s planned border wall. Incredibly, the new omnibus even includes a measure to increase the influx of temporary workers under H-2B visas through September."

Republicans run both houses of Congress this time, and President Trump is in the White House, but no matter – the Dreaded Government Shutdown™ has been avoided for the time being. Even the defense increases, by the way, are about half of what Trump wanted. The deal’s paltry $12 million increase in defense spending, which is still $18 less than what Trump wanted. And it doesn’t help that House Speaker Paul Ryan has reportedly praised this outrageous spending bill.

Republicans caved again. They were elected to overturn Obamacare. They haven’t, and they won’t – even the supposed planned vote this week on Obamacare repeal doesn’t repeal Obamacare. They were elected to build Trump’s border wall. They haven’t, and there are no immediate plans to do so. They were elected to defund Planned Parenthood. They haven’t. As Bloomberg points out:

Overall, the compromise resembles more of an Obama administration-era budget than a Trump one. The National Institutes of Health, for example, would see a $2 billion boost, reflecting the popularity of medical research among lawmakers. The deal includes $990 million for famine aid, along with a $1.1 billion boost for disaster recovery funds…More than 70 anti-environmental policy riders in the bill were defeated…

No wonder Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said, “This agreement is a good agreement for the American people, and takes the threat of a government shutdown off the table.”

Trump is now preparing to push forward the new healthcare plan, which does not repeal Obamacare; his aides say that he’s going to push for a massive infrastructure spending plan sometime in the next two or three weeks.

Blog Author's Comments:The way I read this and what I have learned during the past few days and weeks concerning this budget bill - to review, the Democrats in the minority got nearly everything they wanted while the Republicans, and specifically conservatives - got very little if anything. You know a political group is in a bit of a quandary when the majority caves to the minority.

The bipartisan spending agreement appears to disregard the president’s budget blueprint entirely, and maintains most of the current funding levels.

The interim Continuing Resolution (CR) is fraught with demands of the “Big Club”. That is: Wall Street, their lobbyists, and those who have created the UniParty for over three decades. The “Big Club” is fighting back against the insurgent presidency of Donald Trump and is using the Republican wing of the UniParty to do it.

It is Republicans, not just Democrats, in congress who are putting the most toxic spending priorities within the $1+ trillion spending bill and forcing a spending bill onto President Trump’s desk which facilitates the needs of the lobbying class and undermines parts of the structural agenda of President Trump.

The outrage should be rightly focused on those in congress, and more specifically the Republicans therein, not President Trump. What would the ankle-biters and antagonists have President Trump do? Veto a bill constructed by bipartisan legislation in congress? Shut down government? That’s exactly the dynamic the “Big Club” has set up through their paid opposition represented by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Surely, President Trump and his allies in the White House, most certainly know what is going on, but what should he do? Perhaps he should have a meeting in the Oval Office with McConnell and Ryan and tell them that he knows what the situation is. And do they want him to hold a press conference and relay to the people/Trump voters, what kind of gamesmanship is going on within the GOP? Tell the voters again, what he wants and intends to accomplish. Too bad he cannot simply rid the government of the current Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader and a few others, as he would consider doing if this were run as a business.

Again I say, this may be the last chance for the Republican Party to be the party for the American people. If they blow this prospect and anticipation of victory for many years, the Democrats may gain back some power within four years. Those people who care about the Republican party, cannot allow that to happen.

Jay Carney: Republicans Want To "Punish" People Who Receive Food Stamps

The Blaze -- Anticipating what Democrats have already called the “food stamp cliff” reduction in benefits to take effect on Nov. 1, White House spokesman Jay Carney said Thursday that food stamps are “the most effective way of to combat hunger” and accused House Republicans of wanting to “punish” people who receive them.

He was also clear that the Obama administration wants Americans receiving benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to be able to get off the program the right way by reaching a better economic condition.

The “food stamp cliff" is the expiration of the temporary increase in SNAP funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, better known as the stimulus act. Without an increase, a single adult’s benefits will reportedly be cut by $11 a month to a total of $189.[...]

Carney added, “We’re committed reducing the number of Americans who need SNAP, the right way by arming recipients with the skills they need to enter the workforce, earn the income they need to support a family and ultimately come off the program.”

Speaking about the importance of the program, he continued: “SNAP is the most effective way of to combat hunger and food insecurity, particularly as food banks are telling us that they are already struggling to meeting the needs in their communities.”

In August, the House separated food stamp funding from the farm bill.

“This goes to a broader effort to pass a comprehensive farm bill,” Carney continued. “The Senate has done it. The House, in the aforementioned action, broke years and years of precedent and separated out elements of the farm bill that had always been together. And essentially did so in order to punish millions of Americans who depend on this assistance and that is absolutely the wrong approach to the problem that you’ve identified.

Blog author's comments - The Press Secretary Carney's job is to protect the president no matter what he does and to attempt to always portray the Republicans as the enemy of the American people.

The Obama administration is signing up as many people as they can for food stamps. This is what the progressives and Democrats want to have happen. Keep people down and dependent, convinced they cannot succeed without the government. And if they vote they will usually vote for anyone who is a Democrat. The government is currently giving food stamps to 47 million Americans...and that number is continually growing. Many of these food stamp recipients should receive them, but there are many healthy, able bodied people who are content to live off the government dole and have no intention of seeking employment.

How about lowering taxes and getting rid of Obamacare so the free market can create jobs. Lower taxes will encourage business owners to invest and grow their companies and hire more people. We already have enough people who have given up finding a job and now with Obama's signature piece of legislation, the ACA, more companies will be downsizing their work force or making some people part-time employees.

With ‘SNAP’ funding a single adult’s benefits will reportedly be cut by $11 a month to a total of $189. For a family of four that gets $668 per month in benefits they will find that amount cut by $36. Food stamps are only a part of what many people receive from the government’s welfare program...housing, child care, healthcare and school meals for their children. This will never stop...there are too many people locked into this way of life, being cared for by the taxpayer’s money.

Blog author's comments - Obama is beginning his campaign to win back the House in 2014, this is why he wants a government shutdown. He knows the liberal media will put the blame on the GOP. This also takes the voters away, those who are aware of them, from the numerous scandals within the Obama Administration. Should Obamacare be defunded? Absolutely, it is an economic disaster and will be a medical disaster. But even if the House and Senate came to some sort of agreement, which will not happen, Obama would veto it. The ACA is now the law.

This is why I don't think the Republican Party should attempt to stop the individual mandate for only a year...until 2015. Let the low-information voters and, those who are still not aware that the ACA is law, deal with it and see what a bad bill this is. The Republican Party should be planning their strategy with their ultimate goal being to retain the House in 2014. The bills from the House should also have included a removal of the Congress exemption from Obamacare that Obama gave them. If he feels the ACA is a good bill for the people, why shouldn't Congress and their staffs live with the same health insurance bill?

Obama Says He Will Not Negotiate With Congress On Debt Ceiling

Reuters -- President Barack Obama warned Republicans in Congress on Monday that he will not negotiate over an extension of the U.S. debt ceiling as part of a budget battle that will soon dominate Washington, with a deadline fast approaching.

Pivoting to domestic policy after devoting weeks to the crisis in Syria, Obama scolded his political opponents for threatening a government shutdown and attempting to attach conditions to funding the budget for the 2014 fiscal year that begins October 1.

"Let's stop the threats. Let's stop the political posturing, let's keep our government open. Let's pay our bills on time. Let's pass a budget," Obama said.

In a speech marking five years since the financial crisis that sent Wall Street teetering to the brink of collapse, Obama said much progress had been made in rebuilding the U.S. economy but much more remains to be done.

He faces yet another budget showdown as Republicans in Congress attempt to force more spending cuts and remove funding for Obama's signature achievement, the 2010 healthcare law that is facing a rocky rollout.

I believe that most members of the Republican Party are afraid of a government shutdown and they will give him what he wants as usual.

Obama said 'much progress had been made in rebuilding the U.S. economy.' What progress? He can make this statement but not list the progress because under this president there hasn't been any progress. But many Americans continue to believe him after what he has done to the country for almost five years. He is willing to talk to Assad of Syria, to the Iranians, and to Putin of Russia but he will not negotiate with the Republican Party concerning government spending and debt.

Daily Caller -- Any Republican refusal to accept President Barack Obama’s fiscal plan may ruin Christmas for the nation’s retailers, the White House claimed in a report released Monday morning.

“The National Retail Federation is forecasting that holiday sales will grow 4.1 percent this year … [but] if Congress does not act on the President’s plan to extend tax cuts for the middle-class, it will be risking one of the key contributors to growth and jobs in our economy at the most important time of the year for retail stores,” says the report, which was prepared by the Obama White House’s National Economic Council and the president’s Council of Economic Advisers.

“The holiday season is no time to threaten middle-class pocketbooks,” urges the report, titled “The Middle-Class Tax Cuts’ Impact On Consumer Spending & Retailers.”

Blog author's comments - The only thing this administration can do to spur Christmas sales is a mass resignation. That would spread joy around much of the country. Christmas really means nothing to them anyway, they're just looking for an excuse to blame the Republican Party for the stagnant economy and recession, which we've never come out of and won't...not as long as Obama is the president.

Obama is using the extension of the Bush tax cuts to force the rest of his fiscal plan, whatever he decides that will be, on the Republican Party. If anyone believes only the wealthy are going to be hit by what's coming, think again. The fiscal cliff is going to drag everyone else down with it. But now, it's pass my plan or Republicans will ruin Christmas. What is difficult to understand is that the majority of voters supported him and believes what he says.

Washington Times -- Putting pressure on Congress to approve parts of his latest economic stimulus plan, President Obama urged Americans Saturday to push lawmakers to approve his multibillion-dollar “to-do list” for creating jobs.

“Each of the ideas on this list will help create jobs and build a stronger economy right now,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address. “Let’s push Congress to do the right thing. Let’s keep moving this country forward together.”

The president’s list includes an expanded program to help homeowners refinance their mortgages, a proposal to give small businesses tax breaks for hiring more workers, a program that would help veterans find jobs, and an extension of tax credits for clean-energy companies.

He lobbied for the refinancing plan Friday in a speech in Reno, Nev. – a state that ranks second in the nation in mortgage foreclosures.

All told, the proposals on the president’s list could cost up to $34.7 billion: They are part of a more comprehensive $447 billion jobs package that Congress mostly has resisted.

Mr. Obama didn’t discuss in his address the cost of his proposals or how to pay for them. The refinancing plan, for example, would likely include a fee charged to homeowners.

Blog author's comments - Extremism has been overplayed by the Democrats the same as the race card. I would like to know how many times Wasserman Schultz has accused the GOP of 'extremism.' Perhaps Debbie Wasserman Schultz will join the unemployed in a few months.

The liberals say the GOP has had two years and refuse to work with Obama. That is what many wanted when they voted for the Republicans in 2010. They wanted them to stop him.

The strategy here is, if the Democrats can make enough groundless accusations of extremism, etc. about the GOP, then the truth about what the Democrats have been doing and are doing to our country will be lost in the confusion.

Fox News -- Republicans are gearing up for another showdown over the Canada-to-Texas Keystone pipeline, pushing a bill that would compel approval of the project after President Obama denied a critical permit.

The Obama administration has not killed the pipeline. Rather, Obama claimed last month that Republicans did not give his administration enough time when they pushed for a permitting decision within 60 days -- the president denied that permit, presumably sidelining the issue at the height of campaign season as the company TransCanada scrambles to reapply.

But Republicans, who have assailed Obama's decision as bad for the economy and bad for energy security, want to get the project back on the rails.

They plan to make an end run around the State Department, which typically has jurisdiction over cross-border permits, and are teeing up a committee vote for Tuesday on a bill that would do just that.

"It's time for Congress to take this decision out of the president's hands and take the politics out of a common sense pipeline that will bring economic and energy security," Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich., chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, said in a statement.



Blog author's comments - The Republican lawmakers bill would give authority to approve the pipeline project to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, which has been sympathetic to similar energy projects.

The Keystone pipeline should be approved, it is important to the U.S. economy and its national interest. Keystone XL remains the best option for producers to supply crude oil to U.S. Gulf Coast Refineries.

The U.S. consumes 15 million barrels of oil each day and imports 10 to 11 million barrels per day. So, a secure supply of crude oil is critical to U.S. energy security. This project would also put approximately 13,000 Americans to work to construct the pipeline.

Barack Obama does not want this pipeline project for our country. He also does not want to upset the environmentalists. He continues to give money to 'green' energy companies. Those of us who have been paying attention have seen what a failure they have been.

Colin Powell may say he is a member of the Republican Party but he supported and voted for Obama in 2008 and I believe he will vote for him in 2012.

Compromise should never require citizens to turn a blind eye to out-of-control spending or corrupt leadership.
