Muslim Activist To President Obama: Stop Telling Us What Is Islamic

Truth Revolt -- Megyn Kelly interviewed American Muslim Dr. Zuhdi Jasser of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, who had a strong message for President Obama and his administration: "Stop telling us Muslims what is Islamic!

President Obama, John Kerry, Chuck Hagel, and other prominent representatives of Obama's administration have been repeating the line ad nauseum that the Islamic State is neither Islamic nor a state. Their friends the press have played these clips over and over, their parrots on MSNBC have repeated the line incessantly, and on down the line it goes to blogs and Twitter. ISIS is not Islamic. Dr. Zuhdi strongly disagrees.

"Please, if anybody in this administration is listening, stop telling us Muslims what is Islamic. I mean, so he's saying this is compounding the sin? How about when he shakes and hugs the king of Saudi Arabia for their being custodians of the Holy Mosque and yet they have imprisoned apostates, liberals Muslims. They're a mysogynistic nation that treats their women as third class citizens. Or the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, or the Islamic Republican of Iran. Hundreds of millions of Muslims running governments all over the world that line their prisons and torture Christians and Jews and Muslims, that's Islamic? And ISIS came out of thin air? ISIS is a by-product of those ideologies. And to deny it and dismiss it, they're trying to bury us reformers from having a seat at the table."

Blog author's comments - There's probably a large frown in the Oval Office now, or perhaps on the golf course. Strong words by Dr. Jasser, it is too bad more Muslims in America don't feel the same way and express it. Looks like Dr. Jasser is telling the administration what it doesn't want to hear, and as usual they won't listen. I wonder if they even know who he is and if they do, don't care what he has to say. So far he is about the only one that has said what needs to be said, especially to Obama and his entire administration.

Democrat Senator Defends The Koch Brothers From Harry Reid's Attacks

Politico -- Sen. Joe Manchin on Thursday strongly defended the Koch brothers from attacks by fellow Democrats, saying the wealthy and politically active businessmen are taxpaying Americans who are creating jobs

. “People want jobs. You don’t beat up people. I mean, I don’t agree with their politics or philosophically, but, you know, they’re Americans, they’re doing— paying their taxes,” Manchin said on Fox News’s “Fox & Friends.”

“They’re not breaking the law. They’re providing jobs,” he added.

When asked whether Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s attacks on the Koch brothers “helps or hurts the cause for the country and the Congress,” the West Virginia senator said it’s people in the middle that need to be reached.

“If you’re trying to rally the base, the bases have already been rallied. The right and left bases have been rallied,” Manchin said. “It’s us in the middle that have to start making something happen here in Washington to move this country forward.”

Manchin, who also served as governor of West Virginia, said harsh rhetoric from either side does little to help the country.

“Right, wrong or indifferent, whether you like the politicians, or not. There’s people who don’t like the extreme Democrat politics or extreme Republican politics, we got to start being Americans again,” the senator said.

A spokesman for Koch Industries said Manchin’s comments likely reflect what others, on both side of the aisle, are thinking and that “it’s about time” somebody spoke out.

“My guess is that Sen. Manchin has expressed a point of view that a lot other senators — Democrats, Republicans — have probably wanted to say and haven’t,” Steve Lombardo said.

A request for comment from Reid’s office was not immediately returned.
Blog author's comments - The reason Harry Reid and others members of the Obama administration are trashing the Koch brothers is that they are afraid of losing the Senate and the Koch brothers are supportive of the Republican Party and use their money to help the GOP.

As Senator Harry Reid angrily rants and raves about the Koch Brothers, much of America is bored from having heard this performance too many times. Sen. Manchin offered some much needed sanity with his comments as opposed to Reid. And it’s time that Democrats take a good, hard look at what has become of their agenda for the midterm elections. Rather than focusing on solutions for the country the dominant talking points in 2014 for the left concerns blaming others, covering up scandals and slandering GOP donors. But Reid never mentions the large amounts of money the Democrats have received from liberal George Soros for years.

Reid could not handle losing his job as the leader of the Democrat controlled Senate. And if the GOP should win control of the Senate and maintain control of the House Obama would be a lame duck president his last two years in office. So Reid will do and say whatever he feels is necessary hoping that the low-information voters will believe him and remember what he said when they go to the polls in this year's midterm elections.

Priests Threatened With Arrest If They Minister to Military During Shutdown

Daily Caller -- In a stunning development, some military priests are facing arrest if they celebrate mass or practice their faith on military bases during the federal government shutdown.

“With the government shutdown, many [government service] and contract priests who minister to Catholics on military bases worldwide are not permitted to work – not even to volunteer,” wrote John Schlageter, the general counsel for the Archdiocese for the Military Services USA, in an op-ed this week. “During the shutdown, it is illegal for them to minister on base and they risk being arrested if they attempt to do so.”

According to its website the Archdiocese for the Military Services “provides the Catholic Church’s full range of pastoral ministries and spiritual services to those in the United States Armed Forces.”

In his piece, Schlageter worries about this restriction as Sunday nears. “If the government shutdown continues through the weekend, there will be no Catholic priest to celebrate Mass this Sunday in the chapels at some U.S. military installations where non-active-duty priests serve as government contractors,” he wrote.

Because of the lack of active-duty Catholic chaplains, the military relies on hiring civilian priests to serve as government service and contract ministers. Those civilian priests are not allowed on the bases during a shutdown, Schlageter wrote.
Blog author's comments - The fact that Obama is doing things like this shows what a petty person we have in the White House. Obama really does dislike the military and Christians. He and his band of Democrats are making this government shutdown as difficult on the people as they can. If it lasts a few weeks we will no doubt see the Democrats stoop even lower. They are in this to win it all, everything Obama wants, which includes an increase of the debt ceiling with no give on his part. He continues to say he refuses to negotiate on anything.

If the priests and ministers are willing to donate their services what business is it of Obama? Refusing the troops the right to practice their religion has to be against their Constitutional rights. Obama has moved well beyond acting like a spoiled child, he is playing dictator. Obama's people who head the various federal agencies will do anything to please their boss. I seriously doubt that the liberal media will inform the low-information voters about this story and the many other stories like it that show what the Obama administration is doing. The liberal media will also portray the government shutdown as entirely the fault of the Republican Party.

Biden To Restart White House Guns Push

Politico -- Vice President Joe Biden will try to restart the dormant gun control push next week with an event to tout the administration’s progress in combatting gun violence.

The June 18 White House event will mark the first time Biden or President Barack Obama has held a public event on gun control since the Senate rejected expanded background checks for gun purchases April 17.

Despite Obama’s saying “this effort is not over” after the Senate defeated expanded background checks, the White House has since done little to push its gun control proposals.

The event comes, according to an invitation shared with POLITICO, as “the Administration continues to implement President Obama’s plan to protect our children and communities by reducing gun violence.”

A Biden aide confirmed a gun control event has been scheduled but declined to discuss what will take place. The White House declined to comment.

Obama won’t be in attendance. He will be at the G-8 summit in Northern Ireland, one of two overseas trips he’s making this month.
Blog author's comments - I knew they wouldn't let it go. They are gearing up for another assault. Perhaps they think the legislators will get tired of dealing with it coming up again and eventually pass something just to take it off the table. It's a wearing down process. If Obama could rewrite the Second Amendment he would.

Obama has told Biden to ask the liberal mainstream media to push gun control again. He also wants Biden to twist the arms of the Senate Democrats who voted against this bill the first time. But many ot those Senators are still worried about being reelected in 2014. Obama is sending out Biden to do it. Be concerned when Harry Reid starts devoting Senate time to gun control.

I would feel a bit better about both gun control and immigration reform if I thought I could trust the GOP Speaker of the House John Boehner to push back on these issues and stop them in the House. He has been known to cave easily in the past. What the government should do is leave the law-abiding gun owners alone and go after the criminals and gangs who are using illegal guns to do their crimes and shootings. More gun control laws will not put an end to mass shootings.

At present there is a new form of gun control, since we are now subjected to ammo control through lack of supply courtesy of the Department of Homeland Security buying millions of bullets. This most certainly was according to plan by the Obama administration. Neverr expect Obama to forget about gun control. He will continue to focus on it until he leaves office.

IRS Buying Spying Equipment: Covert Cameras in Coffe Trays, Plants

CNS News -- The IRS, currently in the midst of scandals involving the targeting of conservative groups and lavish taxpayer-funded conferences, is ordering surveillance equipment that includes hidden cameras in coffee trays, plants and clock radios.

The IRS wants to secure the surveillance equipment quickly – it posted a solicitation on June 6 and is looking to close the deal by Monday, June 10. The agency already has a company lined up for the order but is not commenting on the details.

“The Internal Revenue Service intends to award a Purchase Order to an undisclosed Corporation,” reads the solicitation.

“The following descriptions are vague due to the use and nature of the items," it says.

“If you feel that you can provide the following equipment, please respond to this email no later than 4 days after the solicitation date,” the IRS said.

Among the items the agency will purchase are four “Covert Coffee tray(s) with Camera concealment,” and four “Remote surveillance system(s)” with “Built-in DVD Burner and 2 Internal HDDs, cameras.”

The IRS also is buying four cameras to hide in plants: “(QTY 4) Plant Concealment Color 700 Lines Color IP Camera Concealment with Single Channel Network Server, supports dual video stream, Poe [Power over Ethernet], software included, case included, router included.”

Finishing out the order are four “Color IP Camera Concealment with single channel network server, supports dual video stream, poe, webviewer and cms software included, audio,” and two “Concealed clock radio.”

“Responses to this notice must be received by this office within 3 business days of the date of this synopsis by 2:00 P.M. EST, June 10, 2013,” the IRS said. Interested vendors are to contact Ricardo Carter, a Contract Specialist at the IRS.

Entire column...
Blog author's comments - I suppose this equipment is for the IRS' 'Covert Operations' division? "If you can’t trust government to follow the Constitution while spying, we’re going to have some problems" ~Barack Hussein Obama. We do have many problems.

The government needs a serious reset. It won't happen with the current administration but constitutional law has to be reinstated. This has gotten insane. The last people you want to see playing covert spy games is the IRS. Are these the same low-level 'rogue' IRS employees who are also being blamed for the targeting scandal? It was not the low-level employees acting on their own in either case.

The question is will America as founded survive the Obama administration? Those who educated themselves concerning Barack Obama prior to the 2008 election knew he would be a failure as president but never thought he would be the complete disaster for the country that he actually is. I suppose Obama knows nothing about the IRS buying spy equipment either.

Dems Preserve US-Mexico Food Stamp Partnership From Sequester Cuts

Fox News -- Salmonella outbreaks. E. coli outbreaks. Millions of dollars in economic losses.

These are among the scenarios the Obama administration warned about last month as it claimed the sequester would force the U.S. Department of Agriculture to furlough meat inspectors.

But while the administration prepares to take that step, it continues to pursue a "partnership" with the Mexican government to "raise awareness" about food stamps among immigrants from that country. When a top Senate Republican proposed cutting off funds for that program last week -- in the form of an amendment to a budget resolution -- Democrats on the Budget Committee shot it down.

It's hard to put a firm price on the cost of the partnership, which was launched under the George W. Bush administration. But an aide to Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., who has railed against the partnership for months, said it could easily be in the millions. Since 2004, the program has blossomed to include dozens of meetings and conferences and health fairs with Mexican officials -- all of which cost money, not to mention the cost to the food stamp program of new enrollees brought in as a result of this partnership.

Sessions, in a statement to FoxNews.com, said he believes the public will eventually demand an end to the program, though the Senate Budget Committee allowed it to continue in the vote last week.[...]

Meanwhile, the USDA continues to press forward with plans to furlough meat inspectors, describing it as a necessity of the sequester.

Entire column...
Blog author's comments - Because of the Sequester Obama released thousands of illegal immigrant prisoners who were in detention awaiting deportation. We can't afford to incarcerate the criminal illegals, but apparently we can afford to feed a huge number of Mexican immigrants. We may as well just forget about the border and put up a big 'Welcome Amigos' sign in Spanish with instructions on how to get their free stuff. The funds for this program should be cut off and I would hope the American people would support the cut by a huge majority. The House should refuse to fund this and make sure the public knows why.

The partnership — which was signed by former USDA Secretary Ann M. Veneman and Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Ernesto Derbez Bautista in 2004 — sees to it that the Mexican Embassy and Mexican consulates in America provide USDA nutrition assistance program information to Mexican Americans, Mexican nationals working in America and migrant communities in America.

Hillary Clinton - "Islam Respects the Fundamental Dignity of Human Beings"

Right Newz -- CSPAN: Secretary of State Hillary Clinton today said the U.S. government had nothing to do with the video that has touched off violence against U.S. diplomatic installations in Libya, Egypt and Yemen.[...]

“The United States government had absolutely nothing to do with this video,” Clinton said alongside Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Saad-Eddine Al-Otmani at the State Department. “… We have the greatest respect for people of faith… this video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose, to denigrate a great religion and to promote rage.”

Blog author's comments - Would someone tell me why Hillary Clinton is qualified to be Secretary of State? Is it her vast foreign policy experience, her negotiation skills? The Obama administration showed a very weak foreign policy. Obama should have quickly condemned the assault on Americans and our embassies; I did not see him do that.

The Obama administration continues to put the blame for the attacks on the Egypt and Libya embassies and the murder of the U.S. Libyan ambassador and three other Americans in Libya on a video that makes fun of the Prophet Mohammed. To the Obama administration that explains everything that happened and evidently it's our fault.

These attacks, in my opinion, had nothing to do with a video. These were planned, coordinated terrorist attacks against America on the anniversary of 9/11. What action has been taken by the President? I would think Obama's constant reference to the killing of Osama bin Laden has had a greater affect on the Muslim terrorists than a video.

There is no leadership within the Obama administration. The video below of Mitt Romney and his statement showed me more presidential qualities than I have ever seen from Barack Obama. But, the MSM is of course being critical of Romney.

Pump Prices Doubled Under Obama

Gasoline up 100% under Obama

washington times -- Feeling pain at the pump? Gas prices have doubled since Mr. Obama took office. According to the GasBuddy gasoline price tracking web site, the price of a gallon of regular gas was around $1.79 when Mr. Obama took office.

Today the national average is $3.58. The lowest average price in the continental United States is $3.31 in Tulsa Oklahoma, the highest is $4.14 in Santa Barbara, CA. Four-dollar-a-gallon gas has arrived on average throughout California, and a number of other states are headed in that direction.

Consumer price index (CPI) figures from February show an unadjusted 12 month gasoline inflation rate of 19.2%, but in the last month alone prices jumped 6.8%, probably because of oil price increases due to instabilities in the Middle East. If the trend continues, gas prices would double again within a year.

100% gasoline price inflation is nothing to brag about, but imagine Mr. Obama going into the 2012 election having to explain why gas costs $7.00 a gallon. I'm sure the White House would spin it as one of their "Green" initiatives.

Blog author's comments - The recent unrest in the Middle East has had some effect on rising prices but a significant factor has been increased oil demand worldwide.

If the Obama administration had wanted to keep prices down they could have increased domestic oil production but, President Obama cut production. Last summer Obama instituted two drilling bans in the Gulf of Mexico. The offshore drilling ban will cut domestic offshore oil production by 13 percent this year.

For many years the 'Green' environmentalists along with the Democrat Party have lobbied against the U.S. drilling for our own oil. Obama does not want us dependent on oil, but the technology he wants to replace our dependency does not exist and will not be available for many decades if ever.

Interior Secretary Salazar canceled 77 leases for oil and gas drilling in Utah in his first month in office. According to the U.S. Department of the Interior and the Bureau of Land Management, there are 800 billion barrels of recoverable oil from oil shale in the Green River Formation, which goes through Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. This is three times greater than the proven oil reserves of Saudi Arabia.

Obama has also failed to open the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge - where an estimated 10 billion barrels of oil lie beneath a few thousand acres that can be accessed with minimal environmental impact. Those 10 billion barrels are equivalent to 16 years’ worth of imports from Saudi Arabia at the current rate.

As most of us know the economy is in bad shape because of the Obama administrations policies, agenda and out of control spending. The increased gasoline prices will make it worse.

Fuel Prices - What To Do - Who To Blame

The price of gasoline when Obama took office was approximately $1.87 a gallon, today it is averaging over $3.50 and experts predict higher prices by mid-summer.

Who Did Nancy Pelosi Blame For High Gas Prices
in 2008? George W. Bush and Dick Cheney

Networks Link Bush to 'Skyrocketing' Gas
Prices 15 Times More Than Obama

newsbusters - As gas prices rose in 2008, network reporters mentioned President Bush in 15 times as many stories than they brought up President Obama in a similar period in 2011.

Bush drew gallons of coverage in 2008. Comparing a 20-day span of rising gas prices in 2008 to 24 days of rising prices in February 2011, the Business & Media Institute found the networks did more than 2 ½ times as many stories during the Bush years versus Obama.

Unrest in the Mideast has hit American consumers hard, driving up gas prices that had already been above $3-a-gallon since Dec. 23. The national average for gasoline hit $3.36 on Feb. 28, the highest ever for the month of February according to The Associated Press. But the amount of network news coverage of rising gas prices did not reflect it.

Networks Fail to Mention Obama's Anti-Oil Actions. President Obama is the most anti-oil president in years and has taken specific steps to limit domestic oil production including a moratorium on deepwater drilling in May 2010 after the BP spill and the recent imposition of new regulations on the industry. Yet, the networks refused to notice in the recent gas prices stories Business & Media Institute analyzed, just as they did in December 2010.

What High Gas Prices Mean for the U.S. Economy? Moratoriums and permit delays have already costs jobs and threatened businesses and "soaring" gas prices could damage the fragile U.S. economy even more. Some analysts have predicted $5-a-gallon gasoline which would be "devastating," but "serious" consequences could result even if prices only reach the $3.75-a-gallon range.

AP reported that some businesses are already taking the hit for extra fuel costs because they don't think the economy is strong enough to pass it on in the form of higher prices. - Continue reading > >

Blog author's comments - Many people blame the oil companies for the rise in gasoline prices. Of course the companies want to make money, but they know that if the prices rise too high, many folks will attempt to buy less gasoline. The businesses that need gas and oil may have to purchase it at any price and attempt to pass the expense on to the consumer. The entire economy will be more depressed than it is now.

Much of the rise in gasoline prices can be blamed on the recent turmoil in the Middle East. But, what I believe is more important are the restrictions in place on the drilling and refining of oil within the U.S. borders.

For decades the 'green' people with help from the Democrats, have done everything they could to curtail drilling and energy independence. The Obama administration has almost halted oil exploration in the Gulf since the BP oil spill by refusing to issue drilling permits.

The technology for any other source of energy does not exist at this time. The U.S. needs affordable gasoline and oil. We need oil now and will for decades and we should be drilling now for our own oil. The Mainstream Media puts little blame for the high gasoline prices on the Obama regime.

Obama Lifted Drilling Moratorium a Month Ago, But Government Has Not Issued Any New Permits

New deepwater drilling permits: Zilch

cnn.com - President Obama lifted his moratorium on deepwater oil drilling nearly a month ago, but the government still hasn't issued any new permits in the Gulf of Mexico.

The moratorium was lifted in mid-October after government officials were confident new, stricter rules and regulations were in place.

But no new permits for wells covered under the ban have been issued, according to a spokeswoman for the Interior Department's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management Regulation and Enforcement.

Even if a few permits come through, analysts say it will be a far cry from the amount issued pre-spill.

"We're not holding our breath for a return to business as usual," Whitney Stanco, and energy analyst at the Washington Research Group, wrote in a recent research note. "Despite pressure from Gulf state lawmakers and the oil and gas industry, we believe permitting in 2011 will likely be slower than it has been in recent years."

Future output could fall if new wells aren't drilled. EIA predicts U.S. output will drop by about 170,000 barrels a day in 2011 thanks to the ban.

"What's going on over here is a whole lot of nothing," said Jim Noe, an executive at Hercules offshore, who said they are still having a hard time getting permits even for shallow water wells.

Noe said they haven't had to lay off too many people yet, and have kept workers busy doing maintenance work and other jobs. But the longer the permit drought continues, the harder it gets.

"We're not optimistic we'll be back in business in a meaningful way anytime soon," he said.

Blog author's comments - What a complete joke this administration is. Tell us Mr. President why did you lift the moratorium if you did not intend to issue any permits? So...the moratorium was not lifted.

If anyone thinks this administration has learned anything from the outcome of the midterm elections you are wrong. They will continue to believe their policies and agenda are right for the country.

Winning control of the House by the GOP was big, but the gain in state legislatures should now give the Republican Party an added advantage for the future.

The mid-term results give Republicans control of at least 54 of the state legislative chambers, 18 more than before the elections, the highest number since 1952. As a result, state legislatures will likely reflect a more conservative political agenda when they convene in 2011, a crucial advantage in drawing new congressional districts based on the 2010 national census.

There will be significant turnover in House and Senate leadership when legislatures convene next year. Currently, 32 House Speakers are Democrats and 17 are Republican. Next year, this will change to 31 Republicans and 15 Democrats.

The GOP must make the most of what they have won to regain the White House and Senate in 2012.
