Historic Bias: Study Finds 91% Broadcast Coverage Of President Donald Trump Negative

We’ve all seen the coverage of President Trump since he took office, from Kimmel and the late night morons to regular MSM anchors, it seemed that nearly all reporting on the president and this administration has involved baseless attacks and fake news. In a shocking predictable new study released, the Media Research Center found that on the “Big Three” broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) there were “ten times more negative comments about the President than positive statements, and found the ongoing Russia investigation once again swamped all other topics.”

This pattern has been witnessed, and tracked by Media Research Center, since then-candidate Donald Trump ran in 2016. According to analysis, this media trend has never been seen before with any sitting president.

[…] One out of every three minutes of broadcast evening news coverage was devoted to the Trump story last year, a new Media Research Center (MRC) study shows. Investigation into alleged Russia “collusion” was the top item covered (1,234 minutes) – getting more than ten times the attention of the second-most covered topic: response to the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia (104 minutes).

As a proxy for the larger establishment media, the MRC analyzed every moment of coverage of President Trump last year on the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts, usually seen by more than 25 million people each night.

The major findings:

--The Trump presidency was the biggest story of the year, accounting for one out of every three minutes of evening news airtime — nearly 100 hours in total.

--The tone of coverage has been incessantly hostile: 90% negative, vs. just 10% positive (These percentages do not include neutral statements).

--There were only three months in 2017 when Trump’s level of good press rose above 10 percent on the evening news. More than two-fifths of evening news coverage of the President (43%) focused on controversies, not policies, with the Russia investigation alone accounting for one-fifth of all Trump coverage (1,234 minutes).

--Despite their massive coverage of Russia, the networks had almost no airtime for questions about how the investigation began, or whether special counsel Robert Mueller’s current investigation is biased.

Blog Author's Comments: This is not news. Those of us paying attention are fully aware of what is happening and will continue to happen. I doubt that the 'Fake News' media will take any decisive action or change their game plan, after they see this study. The mainstream media, all fake, all negative, all the time. There is a lot of "anonymous sources" and "maybe" and "might" getting reported as news these days.

Unfortunately there are a large number of people too stupid to think for themselves and believe whatever they are told. The media refuses to talk about how big and strong Trump's base is. They show fake polls just like they report their news. Despite only negative reporting, President Trump and his supporters are doing well. And polls do not really matter, just ask Hillary Clinton.

Blog Author's Comments: Concerning the liberal media, there is nothing Trump can do or could have done for them to back off a bit on their unfavorable reporting. He will continue to receive highly negative press no matter what he says or does. They were all caught ‘flat footed’ when their candidate Hillary lost. Now even if he were to resign they would say he could not take the heat or the job was too much for him. So that being said, why the hell does he even bother with the media. Cut out briefings, none of his people on the talk shows or only talk to a few friendly outlets. Maybe he should hold a press briefing every two weeks. Using only that format and his Twitter account would suffice. It is his call, but he should not respond to the 'fake news' outlets and all their totally negative reporting.

Local TV station programming and press is every bit as biased and slanted against President Trump as far as reporting the truth as national outlets. They are all liberals, which is why they gave the worst president ever, Obama, a pass for eight years. And the same can be said about Hillary Clinton, while she was the disastrous Secretary of State. The press repeats the lies so many times that it becomes ‘understood’ by their Democrat followers that “Trump is evil” and therefore the liberal media is supposedly ‘doing the right thing’ in piling on even more lies, in order to destroy him. Just remember, anger can many times make people think irrationally, maybe even their IQ goes down. Whatever Trump does makes the press and liberals angry. Then they do dumb things that continue to harm their own cause.

CNN refused to allow the Trump Campaign to purchase air-time for the following ad celebrating President Trump’s first 100 days.


According to CNN: “The mainstream media is not fake news, and therefore the ad is false. Per our policy, it will be accepted only if that graphic is deleted.”

Censorship for political purposes? You decide.

Blog Author's Comments: Nothing in that ad was a lie. Of course this is done for political purposes. We have a President who has accomplished quite a lot in the last 100 days without some Congressional Republicans, without the Democrats and without the Media. We have huge problems and only Trump is willing to take them on. He should be rewarded for that and not cursed and threatened. As Sean Hannity has been saying, “journalism is dead”. Perhaps they forgot that their CNN reporters gave Hillary the questions before the debate?

If CNN runs any political advertising after refusing this ad then they’re guilty of First Amendment violations. I believe that the only valid reason they can refuse an ad is if it violates public decency (FCC) laws. That didn’t happen here. This is a problem for CNN. Their bias is on full display, the Trump ad is being watched by more people, trending on YouTube, and he pays CNN absolutely nothing while making himself the victim of political censorship.

If CNN didn’t have a monopoly in our airports and doctors’ offices, they would have been dumped long ago. They’ve been nothing but a propaganda machine for the Left since their start over two decades ago. What is most interesting to me is that CNN did not claim that any of Trump’s other accomplishments were not true.

Also, I wonder if the ad was turned down by any other network, or was it only targeted to CNN? At this point, I would think that CNN has to refuse all political ads; there was nothing in the ad which wasn’t true. We get ads on TV all the time from politicians touting their position on issues or accomplishments. Once again here is CNN and their 'Fake News'.

It’s not exactly a secret that CNN hates Donald Trump. CNN refused to run a pro-Trump ad this week. The ad included a shot of popular fake news figures.

CNN didn’t like the ad so they refused to play it. The left hates when their #FakeNews meme gets shoved back into their faces.

Donald Trump’s ongoing feud with TV networks not named ‘Fox News’ has clicked into a new gear as ABC, CBS and NBC have all joined CNN in refusing to run an ad from the president’s re-election campaign committee.

The ad shows hosts from all four networks under a banner that reads ‘FAKE NEWS.’

It’s the Trump campaign’s first commercial since winning the White House, and although it is three years out from the next election, it declares the nation has ‘rarely seen such success.’

The ad blasts the ‘fake news’ media for failing to see things that way – and includes CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Also included are MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and Andrea Mitchell, CBS’s Scott Pelley and ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in its rogues gallery.

2017 Congressional Intelligence Oversight “Gang of Eight”
CTH -- ♦ Obviously Chairman Devin Nunes has placed himself outside the rails of Deep State. ♦ The UniParty now wants him removed. ♦ Nunes has become a risk. ♦ Brutally obvious questions being ignored by media become focus of wider electorate.

Chairman Nunes is the only member of the Intelligence Oversight Gang-of-Eight who has reviewed the executive level intelligence product which caused him concern. Nunes alleged in the last week he received evidence that Obama administration political figures gained access to unmasked American identities through foreign intercepts involving the Trump transition team between November 2016 and January 2017.

Media and congressional leadership intentionally skip the obvious questions:

♦ Why don’t the other seven members also go look at the same executive intel?

♦ Why, instead of looking at the same data, does the entire UniParty political apparatus and DC media now seem intent on eliminating Devin Nunes?

♦ Why doesn’t Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer or Mark Warner simply go look at the same executive intelligence product?

♦ Why doesn’t Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell or Richard Burr simply go look at the same executive intelligence product?

♦ Why doesn’t any member of the DC media ask such brutally obvious questions?

These are all simple questions that hang above the political chaff and countermeasures.

These are also simply questions that explain why President Trump made this simple request on January 6, 2017: "I am asking the chairs of the House and Senate committees to investigate top secret intelligence shared with NBC prior to me seeing it."

Notice how in the three months since that request was made by President-Elect Donald Trump, only one member of congress has actually done what was requested. That member is Devin Nunes.

Now look at what’s happening around Devin Nunes.

The brutally obvious reality behind these simple questions highlights something much more than the simple SWAMP. The reactive behavior is not confined to current DC politicians or the media surrounding DC.

What we see now, is a response by multiple elements more aptly called “Deep State“.

Blog Author's Comments: Those whose names were unmasked will not be happy that this has been happening. Until the reports are looked at, the 'Gang of 8', will try to deny even having knowledge of this. Once it crosses the line where Schiff, for example, goes and looks at the report, any normal person looking at that report would be just as disturbed as Nunes. Apparently not only were Americans names unmasked, but it seems that their day-to-day activities were shared as well.

Fox News had a brief interview with Nunes outside his Capitol Hill office yesterday. Nunes: “As far as I know they’ve done very little to even look through the documents that the intelligence agencies have provided,” Nunes said. He added, “At the end of the day here, we’re going to get to the truth and we’re going to find out who’s actually doing a real investigation. And you’ll find out that we are very much doing an investigation and have been for a long time.”

Asked about conflict with the House Intelligence Committee’s ranking member Adam Schiff, Nunes said, “We’re always concerned about this and we always want to keep the committee bipartisan but at the end of the day we’re going to do an investigation with or without them.” Nunes concluded saying to the Fox News reporter, “I would encourage you guys to go and start to follow them around and figure out who they want to bring in and interview.”

President Trump wants to accomplish items on his agenda. The Democrats and NeverTrumpers want to keep him from getting things done.

“Investigating the Russians”, is a perfect excuse for not getting things done. Again, we can see what a multi-purpose excuse the whole “Russians” hoax is. Hopefully the absurdity of it all will finally blow open the doors and let the sunlight in. This constant investigation about Trump and the Russians could go on forever if it is allowed to continue. I believe Nunes feels he has to keep the information from both Republicans and Democrats on the committee for fear of leaks to the villains he wants to surprise, and he wants to keep the whistleblower’s identity secret.

Nunes is one of 8 who have security level clearance to see the Intelligence. He can’t show it to his committee. Only Schiff can see it. He can’t tell anyone anything who is not the President, or the other 7. I believe Nunes has done everything the way he should have. As of today, the news I hear is that Nunes and Schiff will have a closed door meeting about this and we may hear what the next step is.
