TLR -- Knowing that former Campaign Manager Paul Manafort was wiretapped by the Obama Administration via the FBI, James Comey, let’s take another look at Comey’s testimony.
New York Representative Elise Stefanik begins her March 20th, 2017, questioning by asking director Comey what are the typical protocols, broad standards and procedures for notifying the Director of National Intelligence, the White House and senior congressional leadership (aka the intelligence Gang of Eight), when the FBI has opened a counter-intelligence investigation.
The parseltongue response from Comey is a generalized reply (with uncomfortable body language) that notification of counter-intel investigations are discussed with the White House, and other pertinent officials, on a calendar basis, ie. “quarterly”.
With the statement that such counter-intel notifications happen “generally quarterly”, and against the backdrop that Comey stated in July of 2016 a counter-intel investigation began, Stefanik asks:

Blog Author's Comments: President Trump made the right move when he let Comey go. FBI Director James Comey needed to leave, he was too politicized and it was obvious that he was on the side of the Democrats, with the way he handled the Hillary Clinton email investigation. And what about Special Counsel Robert Mueller? Surely he is bumping into all of this in his investigation. Could there be a silver lining, or is he not allowed to follow the truth? I am not sure Mueller has even a passing acquaintance with ‘truth’ at this point in his life. I would like to think that he does. I would like to think a lot of things.
I remember when Mueller was first appointed, and everyone was saying what an honorable man he was. There were glowing reports of his personal biography. That was some time ago. He and Comey are long time co-workers and friends. It is hard to reconcile that Mueller, the guy who only hires Clinton cronies and NeverTrumpers to work on his investigative team, the team which positively has to know that the entire premise for their investigation is a fraud. And everybody said Comey was a ‘straight arrow’ too. So what people think they know about someone’s history does not seem to be indicative of future performance, at least when it comes to the ‘Swamp’ and those who venture into it.
And this is what bothers me about Attorney General Sessions. Just before the August recess, the Republican majority made a rule change to prevent Donald Trump - the president of their own party - from making recess appointments while Congress was out of town, perhaps plotting his destruction. It is not as complicated as it sounds. It appears - and don't doubt me - that any evidence about Russia was fabricated to get the FISA court to approve a wiretap on Manafort, Trump's one time campaign manager, and then of Trump towers.
Whoever fabricated that evidence will be able to answer many more questions. But, I do not believe we will ever know the identity of this person or the entire story, when it comes to the constant attempt of the destruction of the Trump presidency. It was also disgusting what was done to Manafort in his home and treating him like a lowlife criminal. I also question why now did this come out? Why are CNN and the N.Y. Times admitting that Trump Tower, hence Trump, was wiretapped? He said he was many months ago and everyone on the left laughed and said he did not know what he was talking about.
Breitbart -- President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday, according to a statement from the White House.
In a statement from the press office, the White House said Trump acted on the recommendation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Borenstein.
“The FBI is one of our Nation’s most cherished and respected institutions and today will mark a new beginning for our crown jewel of law enforcement,” Trump said in a statement announcing Comey’s termination.
In a letter to the president Tuesday, Sessions wrote that after an evaluation, he had concluded that “a fresh start is needed at the leadership of the FBI.”
“It is essential that this Department of Justice clearly reaffirm its commitment to longstanding principles that ensure the integrity and fairness of federal investigations and prosecutions,” Sessions wrote. “The Director of the FBI must be someone who follows faithfully the rules and principles of the Department of Justice and who sets the right example for our law enforcement officials and others in the Department.”
In his own memorandum to the Attorney General Tuesday, Borenstein said the reputation and credibility of the FBI had “suffered substantial damage” in the last year. The deputy attorney general cited Comey’s handling of the investigation into former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s private email server as a “textbook example of what federal prosecutors and agents are taught not to do.”
The president also sent a letter to Comey Tuesday informing him he had been terminated effective immediately.
“While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau,” Trump wrote. “It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in its vital law enforcement mission.”
Comey did not immediately release a statement confirming his dismissal.
Comey was appointed FBI Director by former president Barack Obama in September 2013.
He served as deputy attorney general under the George W. Bush administration from December 2003 until August 2005. Prior to that, he was U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, where he prosecuted a number of major terrorism and criminal cases.
He also worked in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia from 1996 to 2001, and had served as general counsel and senior vice president for Lockheed Martin and general counsel for the investment firm Bridgewater Associates.
Comey became a controversial figure in the 2016 presidential race for the agency’s handling of the investigation into Clinton’s private email server. He came under fire again days before the November 8 election when he announced the discovery of additional emails related to the investigation.
In March, Comey testified that the FBI was investigating the Russian government’s possible interference in the 2016 election, including the “nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia’s efforts.”
During his appointment ceremony in October 2013, Comey described the obligation of the FBI as having to balance independence from “all political forces and interests” in the United States with its enforcement of the rule of law and the country’s system of checks and balances.
“You see, those three words — Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity — capture the essence of the FBI and its people. And they also explain why I am here,” Comey said at the time, according to a White House transcript. “I wanted to be here to work alongside those people, to represent them, to help them accomplish their mission, and to just be their colleague.”
Blog Author's Comments: I am not unhappy that Comey is gone, thought he was a disheveled and stained Director, and much too politicized. If some day, charges are eventually brought against Hillary, I would also consider that a good announcement. This was very positive news and obviously Comey had some serious trouble brewing, he had lost control of what he and the staff of the FBI are supposed to do. I have to think that with Comey gone, there are some members of the Obama administration that now could be looking over their shoulders. Trump waited and that was the right thing to do. If he had removed Comey sooner, he would have been attacked for firing him while the Russian investigation was hot. He will still take much heat from the Democrats and MSM. I would think the Clinton clan is a bit alarmed and they should be. Thus far, after a year of investigation there is nothing indicating that President Trump colluded with the Russians to undermine our election process or made any illegal agreements or deals with the Russians. But, no one will ever convince Hillary Clinton, the Democrats, and the media, because this is all they have and will continue hammering the president with their fake news.

When FBI Director James Comey informed Congress that the bureau reopened the case into Hillary Clinton’s email server, he may not have read any of the emails from the computer of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin’s estranged husband.
Attorney General Loretta Lynch has not given the FBI a search warrant to examine the emails, according to an exclusive report by Yahoo News.
The letter to lawmakers was written when Comey “had no idea what was in the content of the emails,” an official familiar with the case said.
The FBI was still seeking a search warrant from the Justice Department as of Saturday night.
“We do not have a warrant,” a senior law enforcement official told Yahoo News. “Discussions are under way [between the FBI and the Justice Department] as to the best way to move forward.”
Senior officials discouraged Comey from sending the letter to Congress for fear that it would violate the department’s long-standing policy to not make any announcements that could affect the outcome of an election within 60 days of the election taking place.
“He was acting independently of the guidance given to him,” the official said.
Comey contended he had to inform Congress of the new information because he had previously testified that Clinton’s case had been closed.
“This was the least bad choice,” the official said.

The FBI could have avoided this scenario if it had followed up on its interview with Abedin last April when, according to the report, she strongly hinted that there might be pertinent material on Weiner’s computer. The same computer he allegedly used to exchange sexually explicit messages with a 15-year-old girl.
“The first thing they should have done was gotten a sworn affidavit about all her accounts and devices,” former U.S. attorney and independent counsel Joseph DiGenova said.
Clinton has continued to say she wants Comey to release more information about her emails to the public. If that is the case then perhaps she ought to have her husband meet Attorney General Loretta Lynch in an airplane again and ask her to give Comey the warrant he needs.
Or Abedin could simply give the FBI her permission to search the emails, if there is nothing to hide.

He is a very bright no nonsense to the point person, who would prosecute and bring cases to court that deserve to be heard. I don't believe he could ever stoop as low as the current administration, as they are allowing Clinton to escape prosecution for her obvious crimes. What we have now is Obama's puppet Attorney General, Loretta Lynch who does exactly what he tells her to do. Hillary Clinton has already said if she is elected, Lynch will remain in her current position as AG.
The FBI Director James Comey has lost any credibility that he once had, because of all the evidence that was presented he did not recommend prosecution of Clinton. This is why November 8th is so important. The next president can replace many people or allow them to stay, depending on who is elected. They will add at least one judge to the Supreme Court and probably three. And if Hillary wins all of this will go away and she can do whatever she wants. She will allow many more illegals into our country and eventually give them citizenship so the can vote for the Democrats.
If this happens the Republican Party will never again elect another president to office. I would think that those who read this realize just how important it is to vote for Donald Trump if we want to retain the rights we currently have. Trump has to stick to the issues, ignore the lawless media and get his message out as he did when he was campaigning for the nomination. Combetta was given DOJ immunity in December 2015, he lied to the FBI in February of 2016 and yet Comey can’t reconcile why the immunity didn’t immediately dissolve.
