Attorney General Barr: "Mr. President, your declaration of an emergency on the southern border was clearly authorized under the law and consistent with past precedent.
As you said, the National Emergencies Act directly authorizes the President, and gives broad discretionary authority to the President, to identify and respond to emergent circumstances that require a decisive response.
And the humanitarian and security crisis we have on the border right now is exactly the kind of emergency that Presidents are permitted to address under the National Emergencies Act."
Blog Author's Comments: Thank you President Trump for putting America first. All past presidents merely kicked the can down the road, they were reluctant and fearful to address this issue that required a President of substance to make the correct decision. The Democrats do not want secure borders, they view illegals as future Democrat voters. The President made the right conclusion to finally do what was badly needed. We do need a Wall or Barrier on our border, this is indeed a National Emergency.
President Trump is the only thing standing between America and anarchy. Congress no longer represents the American people. The Democratic Socialists are enemies of the American people, upon them falls the responsibility of the dead, the rapes, the assaults and kidnappings that the illegals do on American soil, plus the money the taxpayers must shoulder to care for these people. Obama declared a "National Emergency" and aid for, Libya, Yemen, Ukraine, Burundi, Somalia, Venezuela, South Sudan, and Central Africa, the President declared a "National Emergency" for America, let that sink in and I am sure you will agree with the President.
