Speaker Paul Ryan's Omnibus Bill Provides More Money For
New York To New Jersey Tunnel Than For Trump Border Wall

Speaker Paul Ryan is set to pass the second largest spending bill in US history next to Barack Obama’s trillion dollar failed stimulus.

The budget funds all of the Democrat priorities including sanctuary cities and Planned Parenthood.

The bill will also funnel billions of dollars to Obamacare markets.

Paul Ryan’s omnibus only allows $1.57 billion on “physical barriers and technology” on the border. $641 million of that could go to barriers, and that would be restricted to see-through fences and levees. However, according to PBS, the funding could not be used to build a concrete wall.

In January President Trump asked for $25 billion for his border wall project.

Paul Ryan is blocking Trump’s border project while funding EVERY Democrat priority in his RECORD Spending bill.

Ryan’s Omnibus plan will grant $650 million for the New York to New Jersey Amtrak project — more than the Trump wall.

The Bond Buyer reported:

"2018 spending bill provides Amtrak with $650 million for the North East Corridor account and $250 million for its Rail State of Good Repair account for use on the Washington, D.C. to Boston corridor.

DOT’s rail account will be increased by $1.2 billion to $3.1 billion in fiscal 2018, with $250 million of the increase used for Positive Train Control grants.

Nationwide transit Capital Investment Grant funding will be $2.6 billion, with some of that money available to New Jersey Transit, which shares the Hudson River tunnel with Amtrak."

Blog Author's Comments: Paul Ryan is pushing this bill and I have little doubt that Mitch McConnell will oppose it. I don't believe it matters to Ryan if he remains the Speaker. So, it would not bother him if the Republicans lost the House in 2018. He has always been a 'Never Trumper' and cannot be trusted. Those of us, who care, have to vote for the Conservative Republican's on the ticket in the mid-term elections.

We have to do what we can to give President Donald Trump a chance to do the things he campaigned on, for those who voted for and made him the president. With Trump in the White House this is the best and probably the last chance for the Republican Party to do what is right, to remain in power and stop the democrats.

What is happening is our so-called Republican leaders are working very hard to hollow the country out from within the government. Paul Ryan, a tunnel does not protect the American people and is not a national security priority, but the Wall and border security is.

What Ryan's group has put together is just more waste, fraud and abuse. I do hope Trump veto's this if it gets to his desk. Ryan is definitely helping the republicans lose with what he has proposed, and he will have the Democrats help. Give Trump what he wants and needs. The Democrats did not win; you don’t give them 80 percent of what they asked for.

Some Republicans Prove Themselves More
Worthless Than Rosie O'Donnell At A Beauty Pageant

The Daily Wire -- "As per the usual arrangement, on Sunday Republicans reached a deal with Democrats to pass a $1.1 trillion spending bill that will avoid a government shutdown through September. Here’s what’s in the bill: funding for Planned Parenthood, Obamacare, the Iran deal, the National Endowment for the Arts, and sanctuary cities. Here’s what’s not in the bill: funding for President Trump’s planned border wall. Incredibly, the new omnibus even includes a measure to increase the influx of temporary workers under H-2B visas through September."

Republicans run both houses of Congress this time, and President Trump is in the White House, but no matter – the Dreaded Government Shutdown™ has been avoided for the time being. Even the defense increases, by the way, are about half of what Trump wanted. The deal’s paltry $12 million increase in defense spending, which is still $18 less than what Trump wanted. And it doesn’t help that House Speaker Paul Ryan has reportedly praised this outrageous spending bill.

Republicans caved again. They were elected to overturn Obamacare. They haven’t, and they won’t – even the supposed planned vote this week on Obamacare repeal doesn’t repeal Obamacare. They were elected to build Trump’s border wall. They haven’t, and there are no immediate plans to do so. They were elected to defund Planned Parenthood. They haven’t. As Bloomberg points out:
Overall, the compromise resembles more of an Obama administration-era budget than a Trump one. The National Institutes of Health, for example, would see a $2 billion boost, reflecting the popularity of medical research among lawmakers. The deal includes $990 million for famine aid, along with a $1.1 billion boost for disaster recovery funds…More than 70 anti-environmental policy riders in the bill were defeated…
No wonder Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said, “This agreement is a good agreement for the American people, and takes the threat of a government shutdown off the table.”

Trump is now preparing to push forward the new healthcare plan, which does not repeal Obamacare; his aides say that he’s going to push for a massive infrastructure spending plan sometime in the next two or three weeks.
Blog Author's Comments:The way I read this and what I have learned during the past few days and weeks concerning this budget bill - to review, the Democrats in the minority got nearly everything they wanted while the Republicans, and specifically conservatives - got very little if anything. You know a political group is in a bit of a quandary when the majority caves to the minority.

The bipartisan spending agreement appears to disregard the president’s budget blueprint entirely, and maintains most of the current funding levels.

The interim Continuing Resolution (CR) is fraught with demands of the “Big Club”. That is: Wall Street, their lobbyists, and those who have created the UniParty for over three decades. The “Big Club” is fighting back against the insurgent presidency of Donald Trump and is using the Republican wing of the UniParty to do it.

It is Republicans, not just Democrats, in congress who are putting the most toxic spending priorities within the $1+ trillion spending bill and forcing a spending bill onto President Trump’s desk which facilitates the needs of the lobbying class and undermines parts of the structural agenda of President Trump.

The outrage should be rightly focused on those in congress, and more specifically the Republicans therein, not President Trump. What would the ankle-biters and antagonists have President Trump do? Veto a bill constructed by bipartisan legislation in congress? Shut down government? That’s exactly the dynamic the “Big Club” has set up through their paid opposition represented by Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell.

Surely, President Trump and his allies in the White House, most certainly know what is going on, but what should he do? Perhaps he should have a meeting in the Oval Office with McConnell and Ryan and tell them that he knows what the situation is. And do they want him to hold a press conference and relay to the people/Trump voters, what kind of gamesmanship is going on within the GOP? Tell the voters again, what he wants and intends to accomplish. Too bad he cannot simply rid the government of the current Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader and a few others, as he would consider doing if this were run as a business.

Again I say, this may be the last chance for the Republican Party to be the party for the American people. If they blow this prospect and anticipation of victory for many years, the Democrats may gain back some power within four years. Those people who care about the Republican party, cannot allow that to happen.

New Speaker Of The House Paul Ryan's Omnibus Spending Bill

In the dead of night after 2am in the morning, Congressional leadership unveiled a more than 2,000 page ‘omnibus’ year-end funding bill which would, among other things: fully-fund the President’s refugee expansion; fully-fund sanctuary cities; fully-fund the resettlement of illegal aliens youth and their families crossing the border; lock-in tax credits for illegal aliens; and quadruple the highly controversial H-2B foreign worker visa being used to replace Americans as truck drivers, construction workers, theme park employees, and in blue collar jobs across the nation.

Omnibus Bill Writes Check To Sanctuary Cities

Blog Author's Comments -- Republican Majority Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Republican Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell passed a spending and tax bill supported by more Democrats than Republicans. Because the bill contained almost everything the Democrats wanted.

The voters gave the Republicans large majorities in both the House and Senate so they could push-back against progressive big government spending. What did the Republican leadership do with the majority? Republicans constructed big spending on behalf of the Democrats and voted with them to end up with the same result as if the Democrats were in control.

I don't remember a single Republican campaign in 2010 or 2014 which said, 'Elect me, because we're not going to be able to do anything.' I remember campaigns filled with lofty objectives and goals and promises that were rooted in stopping the Democrat agenda. The Democrats just got more of what they wanted in one budget than they ever got with Pelosi and Reid.

Donald Trump Statement Regarding Paul Ryan Omnibus Spending Bill
"If anyone needed more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker Ryan. In order to avoid a government shutdown, a cowardly threat from an incompetent President, the elected Republicans in Congress threw in the towel and showed absolutely no budget discipline.

"The American people will have to absorb higher deficits, greater debt, less economic liberty and more corporate welfare. Congress cannot seem to help itself in bending to every whim of special interests. How can they face their constituents when they continue to burden our children and grandchildren with debts they will never be able to repay? Our government is failing us, so we must do something about it. Who knows how bad things will be when the next administration comes in and has to pick up the pieces?

"The only special interest not being served by our government is the American people. It is time we imposed budget discipline by holding the line on spending, getting rid of waste, fraud and abuse, and by taking on our debt. To do these things, we need a President who can lead the fight to hold Congress and the rest of government accountable. Together, we will Make America Great Again." - Donald J. Trump
