In the dead of night after 2am in the morning, Congressional leadership unveiled a more than 2,000 page ‘omnibus’ year-end funding bill which would, among other things: fully-fund the President’s refugee expansion; fully-fund sanctuary cities; fully-fund the resettlement of illegal aliens youth and their families crossing the border; lock-in tax credits for illegal aliens; and quadruple the highly controversial H-2B foreign worker visa being used to replace Americans as truck drivers, construction workers, theme park employees, and in blue collar jobs across the nation.

Blog Author's Comments -- Republican Majority Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Republican Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell passed a spending and tax bill supported by more Democrats than Republicans. Because the bill contained almost everything the Democrats wanted.

The voters gave the Republicans large majorities in both the House and Senate so they could push-back against progressive big government spending. What did the Republican leadership do with the majority? Republicans constructed big spending on behalf of the Democrats and voted with them to end up with the same result as if the Democrats were in control.

I don't remember a single Republican campaign in 2010 or 2014 which said, 'Elect me, because we're not going to be able to do anything.' I remember campaigns filled with lofty objectives and goals and promises that were rooted in stopping the Democrat agenda. The Democrats just got more of what they wanted in one budget than they ever got with Pelosi and Reid.

"If anyone needed more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker Ryan. In order to avoid a government shutdown, a cowardly threat from an incompetent President, the elected Republicans in Congress threw in the towel and showed absolutely no budget discipline.

"The American people will have to absorb higher deficits, greater debt, less economic liberty and more corporate welfare. Congress cannot seem to help itself in bending to every whim of special interests.
