Republican Speaker Paul Ryan To Retire From Congress...

Beltway golden boy and darling of the bipartisan political elite Paul Ryan is ready to move on to bigger and better things according to multiple reports.

The Speaker of the House, former GOP vice presidential nominee and protector of corporate interests is not planning on running for reelection in the Wisconsin congressional district that he has ruled for nearly two decades. Rumors of the possibility of Ryan hanging it up were being floated last month which were denied by his office but now plans to make it a done deal with an announcement this morning.

Ryan has been targeted by the Democrats as millions of dollars are pouring into the coffers of challenger Randy Bryce aka Iron Stache, a union guy who dons a hard hat around election time but likely a closetful of pants with shiny asses from a cushy desk job and paper pusher. The Dems are looking for signature wins and there would be few bigger trophies than Ryan.

Via The Hill: "Ryan to retire as Speaker in January."

"Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) is retiring at the end of this Congress, ending his speakership a little more than three years after it began and as the GOP faces a possible loss of its majority this fall.

Ryan’s office says he will serve out his term and retire from Congress in January."

“This morning Speaker Ryan shared with his colleagues that this will be his last year as a member of the House,” Brendan Buck, counselor to Ryan, said in a statement.

“He will serve out his full term, run through the tape, and then retire in January,” Buck said. “After nearly twenty years in the House, the speaker is proud of all that has been accomplished and is ready to devote more of his time to being a husband and a father. While he did not seek the position, he told his colleagues that serving as speaker has been the professional honor of his life, and he thanked them for the trust they placed in him. He will discuss his decision at a press conference immediately following the member meeting.”

Ryan has frequently clashed with President Trump and prior to his securing of the GOP nomination in 2016 was viewed as a kingmaker. He continued to oppose Trump after the convention and right up until he won the presidency.

Some see Ryan’s departure as a sure sign that the “blue wave” is coming and that he is one of the rats jumping ship. There are few bigger rats than Paul Ryan who can now reap the rewards from his career of greasing the rails for globalists and selling out the American people.

Blog Author's Comments: This is the first really good thing he has done for America and the GOP. I am sure the Democrats thank him for his service to their party. Another professional politician does his federal time, collects his life-time pension, healthcare, etc. and walks away, good riddance. But, I would be surprised if he stays out of politics beginning with the 2020 election.

He has always been a Never-Trumper and was more of a hindrance to the president than one who honestly attempted to help him. He did not support what Trump wanted, his agenda and what he believes is best for our country. Remember how long it took for Ryan to say that he supported Donald Trump as president. The last two speakers the Republican Party has had, I thought were far from quality people and professionals who genuinely wanted to help the president.

Speaker Paul Ryan's Omnibus Bill Provides More Money For
New York To New Jersey Tunnel Than For Trump Border Wall

Speaker Paul Ryan is set to pass the second largest spending bill in US history next to Barack Obama’s trillion dollar failed stimulus.

The budget funds all of the Democrat priorities including sanctuary cities and Planned Parenthood.

The bill will also funnel billions of dollars to Obamacare markets.

Paul Ryan’s omnibus only allows $1.57 billion on “physical barriers and technology” on the border. $641 million of that could go to barriers, and that would be restricted to see-through fences and levees. However, according to PBS, the funding could not be used to build a concrete wall.

In January President Trump asked for $25 billion for his border wall project.

Paul Ryan is blocking Trump’s border project while funding EVERY Democrat priority in his RECORD Spending bill.

Ryan’s Omnibus plan will grant $650 million for the New York to New Jersey Amtrak project — more than the Trump wall.

The Bond Buyer reported:

"2018 spending bill provides Amtrak with $650 million for the North East Corridor account and $250 million for its Rail State of Good Repair account for use on the Washington, D.C. to Boston corridor.

DOT’s rail account will be increased by $1.2 billion to $3.1 billion in fiscal 2018, with $250 million of the increase used for Positive Train Control grants.

Nationwide transit Capital Investment Grant funding will be $2.6 billion, with some of that money available to New Jersey Transit, which shares the Hudson River tunnel with Amtrak."

Blog Author's Comments: Paul Ryan is pushing this bill and I have little doubt that Mitch McConnell will oppose it. I don't believe it matters to Ryan if he remains the Speaker. So, it would not bother him if the Republicans lost the House in 2018. He has always been a 'Never Trumper' and cannot be trusted. Those of us, who care, have to vote for the Conservative Republican's on the ticket in the mid-term elections.

We have to do what we can to give President Donald Trump a chance to do the things he campaigned on, for those who voted for and made him the president. With Trump in the White House this is the best and probably the last chance for the Republican Party to do what is right, to remain in power and stop the democrats.

What is happening is our so-called Republican leaders are working very hard to hollow the country out from within the government. Paul Ryan, a tunnel does not protect the American people and is not a national security priority, but the Wall and border security is.

What Ryan's group has put together is just more waste, fraud and abuse. I do hope Trump veto's this if it gets to his desk. Ryan is definitely helping the republicans lose with what he has proposed, and he will have the Democrats help. Give Trump what he wants and needs. The Democrats did not win; you don’t give them 80 percent of what they asked for.

Paul Ryan In 2014: Executive Amnesty Is 'Blatantly Unconstitutional'

Daily Caller -- House Speaker Paul Ryan said last week that he doesn’t think President Trump should end DACA, although in 2014 he called it “blatantly unconstitutional.”

“I actually don’t think he should do that, and I believe that this is something that Congress has to fix,” Ryan said of Trump’s decision to end the Obama executive order that protects undocumented children.

However, in a 2014 interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity, Ryan sang a different tune.

Hannity asked Ryan what he would do to stop Obama if he were to “follow through on his threat for executive amnesty.

“First of all, it’s unconstitutional so we’re already going through the court system on other unconstitutional executive orders that [Obama] has worked on and we would add this to the pile,” Ryan said at the time.

“If he were to do that, by the way, he would put millions of people in legal limbo, poison the well for Congress, and do something that’s so blatantly unconstitutional so we’re telling the administration don’t even think about doing this,” he asserted.

“If you want to change a law, then go to Congress,” Ryan said. “You can’t unilaterally write a law as the executive.”

WATCH:

Blog Author's Comments: I certainly would like to see Ryan primaried out, the next time he's up for re-election. But, many of the incumbents pool their money and outspend their Conservative challengers. Democrat Party oozes from every pore of Ryan's body. Whatever President Trump wants to do, Rep. Ryan is against it but that is not a surprise to me. Ryan has been a Never-Trumper since President Trump began his campaign to be the Republican Party’s nominee. Would someone tell Ryan it's called enforcing existing immigration laws?

Republican leadership can't figure out what is constitutional or which policy to push or avoid from week to week. So, they avoid mustering enough votes to pass any legislation to put on the president’s desk for him to sign into law. Trump is forcing the masks to come off the members of the UniParty. Never before have we had a leader who has exposed the corruption rife in our political system and the media. Let's have everyone in Congress reveal why they turned a blind eye to Obama.

Ryan is up for re-election in 2018 and Paul Nehlen, a pro-Trump America-First man, is his primary opponent. Hopefully Wisconsin's 1st Congressional District will defeat Ryan, but Nehlen's chance is really not that good. If Ryan is still with us after 2018, the chances are slim for the House to appoint another Speaker. Ryan is again showing that he is another RINO adhering obediently to the Democrat agenda. Unfortunately, Ryan, McCain, Flake and McConnell, along with Murkowski and Collins are out for themselves and do not vote along party lines to help their party and the president. This is one of the huge differences between the Republicans and Democrats. The Democrats do protect their own.

House Speaker Paul Ryan Stands Against Arpaio Pardon...

TLR -- Weasels gotta weasel. Jeff Flake, John McCain and now House Speaker Paul Ryan all stand in opposition to President Trump pardoning Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

More fuel for the Big Ugly:

Washington (CNN) – House Speaker Paul Ryan disagrees with President Donald Trump’s decision Friday to pardon Sheriff Joe Arpaio, his spokesman said Saturday.

“The Speaker does not agree with this decision,” spokesman Doug Andres said in a statement. “Law enforcement officials have a special responsibility to respect the rights of everyone in the United States. We should not allow anyone to believe that responsibility is diminished by this pardon.”

Blog Author's Comments: Ryan's repulsive opposition to the pardoning of a real American patriot, unjustly charged for enforcing the rule of law as required by his position, is to be expected. Come on voters in Wisconsin, wake up and throw Ryan out. Speaker Ryan is a dues paying member of the Democrat/GOPe party. I for one did not want to hear his opinion on this subject, it was no surprise that he would disagree with the president. He is irrelevant; he has a problem with Trump and never liked him. Ryan is attempting to damage him. And with hope, all that will happen is that it may well come back to bite him.

Ryan is showing everyone who did not know, the type of person he really is. Drain the Congress Swamp and this person should be one of the first to go. This is just another in his disgusting display of never showing any respect for the president. Phase one Trump tries to get along with these people. Phase two is hopefully mid-term demolition of many anti-Trumpers. I do believe the voters are keeping score, no where to run next year. It is beyond my understanding that Ryan has the nerve to imply that illegal alien invaders are due the same rights and privileges as American citizens. Did he speak out against the Bradley Manning pardon? Did Ryan speak out against the pardon of all of the drug offenders? Of course not, that was Obama. I hope this ends in Ryan politically cutting his own throat.
