Benjamin Netanyahu’s Reply To A BBC Reporter
About Negotiating With Abbas Is Pure Gold

BBC News -- The BBC didn’t write much about Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s tell-it-like-it-is answer to its reporter’s question about why he doesn’t return to the negotiating table with the Palestinians.

The British network said Netanyahu “angrily questioned” Lyse Doucet, noting that he’s been “calling day in, day out, in every forum… I’ve called on President Abbas to resume unconditional negotiations immediately.”

But the exchange was even better than that.

“Are we living on the same planet?” Netanyahu incredulously snapped at her question, adding that he’s called on Abbas to resume talks at the United Nations, the U.S. Congress, in Jerusalem, in Tel Aviv. “I haven’t done so in Nepal, because I haven’t visited it.”

“I’ve called on President Abbas to resume unconditional negotiations immediately. Right now, as we speak, we can meet. I have no problem with that. I think we should stop immediately this wave of incitement against Israel and these attacks…I’m willing to meet him, he’s not willing to meet me,” he continued.

“And you ask me about the resumption of negotiations? Come on, get with the program. These people don’t want negotiations. They’re inciting for violence. Direct your questions to them.”
Blog Author's Comments -- The BBC reporter was chastised because of her lame question to Benjamin Netanyahu and rightly so. He said "come on, get with the program. These people don’t want negotiations. They’re inciting for violence." It really is too bad that America does not have a leader who is even close to the quality of Netanyahu, what a great country we could once again be. Every time I see or hear him speak it reminds me of what a real leader is and how pathetic and weak Barack Obama is.

Abbas the President of the State of Palestine does not care if they reach "agreement" with Israel much like Arafat. Abbas has no intention of living up to any "agreement" they would reach, so he continues the attacks on Israel. That is just what the Muslims do. And the Secretary of State, John Kerry, with direction from Obama continues to blame Israel for the problems between Israel and Palestine as though it is the fault of Israel. I think that I know which side Obama is on.

Much Of Congressional Black Caucus Ignoring Benjamin Netanyahu's Speech

Breitbart -- Much of the Congressional Black Caucus has decided to ignore Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s March 3 speech to Congress about the impending Iranian nuclear threat, insisting that their insult is justified by what they call Netanyahu’s ”disrespect” of Barack Obama.

GOP Speaker of the House John Boehner invited Netanyahu to speak without asking Obama for his approval, and black politicians are taking umbrage with what they perceive as a slight to Obama.

The push to embarrass Netanyahu was launched by Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) last week, after which Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) and others joined the chorus. Some members of the CBC are attempting to schedule a private meeting with Israeli Ambassador Ron Dermer or Netanyahu when the prime minister visits Washington.

Some of the choice quotes from CBC members included:

•Rep. Hank Johnson (D-GA): “It’s not just about disrespect for the president, it’s disrespect for the American people and our system of government for a foreign leader to insert himself into a issue that our policymakers are grappling with. It’s not simply about President Obama being a black man disrespected by a foreign leader. It’s deeper than that.”

•Rep. Greg Meeks: “To me, it is somewhat of an insult to the president of the United States. Barack Obama is my president. He’s the nation’s president, and it is clear, therefore, that I’m not going to be there, as a result of that, not as a result of the good people of Israel.”

•CBC chairman Rep. G.K. Butterfield (D-NC): “CBC members are willing certainty to meet with any representative of Israel. We understand Israel’s plight, and we support the state of Israel. “ But he, too, said the matter was about “respect,” sniffing, “I don’t hold Netanyahu responsible. I hold Speaker Boehner responsible, but I would hope that Mr. Netanyahu would not want to get involved. I personally think it is disrespectful.”

•Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA): “It is very disrespectful to this president, and what concerns me more is that I think it’s a pattern that is starting to develop from this speaker that we’re getting more and more disrespectful of the office of the presidency. I think it’s silly and petty.”

•Rep. Frederica Wilson (D-FL) responded to a query asking if black politicians saw the speech as an insult to Obama by answering, “I think they kind of think it is.”

Cory Fritz, a spokesman for Boehner, replied, “Prime Minister Netanyahu’s upcoming visit isn’t about Speaker Boehner, and it’s not about President Obama. At this critical moment it’s important that the American people hear from Israel about the grave threats posed by Iran and Islamic radicalism.”

Other CBC members who have decided not to attend the Prime Minister’s speech include: Reps. Barbara Lee (D-CA), Keith Ellison (D-MN), Donna Edwards (D-MD), Charles Rangel (NY), Eddie Bernice Johnson (TX).
and Eleanor Holmes Norton (DC).

CBC member Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) co-wrote a letter to Boehner calling for the speech to be postponed.

Johnson was virulent in his denunciation of Dermer, calling him a “longtime, right-wing political hack,” and adding he would not even meet with either Dermer or Netanyahu. He snapped, “I don’t think I would be willing to come to such a meeting, Not at that time, and under this condition, no.”
Blog author's comments - Does the CBC realize that Prime Minster Netanyahu was invited to speak, he didn't invite himself? If the CBC had any intelligence at all they would attend the speech and they might learn something. But then again they are not interested in what happens to Israel and the Middle East. The CBC are only interested in what Obama has to say. Because Boehner went over Obama's head to invite Benjamin Netanyahu, which upset Obama, the Congressional Black Caucus had reason to not attend his speech. If John Boehner had invited Castro, Obama and the CBC would all be in attendance.

The White House by telling the Congressional Black Caucus Netanyahu’s speech is racism against Obama also helped them make up their small minds not to attend. The current White House manipulative narrative around the Benjamin Netanyahu speech is entirely the result of Team Obama’s pride, ego and anger about the way Netanyahu was received during his May 24th 2011 speech. And those of us who were able to watch Netanyahu’s speech realized what an effective, intelligent leader he is.

The fact is, there is an anti-Semite in the White House and Prime Minister Netanyahu living in Iran's neighborhood really doesn't want his hostile neighbor to have nukes. Netanyahu is speaking to the Congress, a separate branch of government. Obama has shown nothing but disrespect for Netanyahu. Obama is spending U.S. tax dollars to try to unseat Netanyahu from being the Prime Minister of Israel. The Israeli election is March 17.

Obama Brushes Off Israeli Pressure Over Iran

Washington AFP -- President Barack Obama likened Israeli pressure on him to draw a line in the sand over Iran's nuclear ambitions as noise he tries to ignore, according to remarks aired Sunday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently urged the United States to establish what he called a "red line" regarding Tehran's nuclear program beyond which the United States would be compelled to act.

Iran insists its uranium-enrichment activities are for civilian energy-producing purposes, but the West fears it is for building nuclear weapons.

Israel is seen as pushing a much more hardline approach that would include military action, while Washington instead prefers to let diplomacy and sanctions dissuade Iran from building the bomb.

Obama, interviewed for Sunday's edition of "60 Minutes" on broadcaster CBS, said he understands and agrees with Netanyahu's insistence that Iran not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons as this would threaten both countries, the world in general, and kick off an arms race.

But Obama added: "When it comes to our national security decisions -- any pressure that I feel is simply to do what's right for the American people. And I am going to block out -- any noise that's out there."

Tensions have been running high between the United States and Israeli leader, and they will not hold a face-to-face meeting this week at the UN General Assembly in New York. The White House has cited scheduling problems.

Obama's contender for the presidency, Republican Mitt Romney, said this was no way to treat an ally.

The decision not to meet with Netanyahu, he said, also in an interview with "60 minutes", "is a mistake and sends a message throughout the Middle East that somehow we distance ourselves from our friends and I think the exact opposite approach is what's necessary."

Blog author's comments - "President Barack Obama likened Israeli pressure on him to draw a line in the sand over Iran's nuclear ambitions as noise he tries to ignore." I assume that Obama is basing his estimates on when Iran will have its first nuclear weapon off of reports from the same intelligence agencies that thought the security arrangements in Cairo and Benghazi were okay.

"Washington instead prefers to let diplomacy and sanctions dissuade Iran from building the bomb." If this is their tactic why aren't they using tougher sanctions against Iran? I don't believe he wants any change at all in the status quo with Iran because of the coming election. He wants things to remain the same and is more than willing to ignore everything that tells him otherwise and relegate it to the "noise" category.

Also, Barack Obama pushed to oust the dictators in both Libya and Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood is on the rise, how has that helped the U.S. and Israel?

Obama - Only Concerned About 2012 Election

US offered Israel advanced weaponry
in exchange for delaying Iran attack

NY Post -- WASHINGTON-The US offered to give Israel advanced weaponry, including bunker-busting bombs and refueling planes, in exchange for Israel's agreement not to attack Iranian nuclear sites, Israeli newspaper Maariv reported Thursday.

President Obama reportedly made the offer during Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington this week.

Under the proposed deal, Israel would not attack Iran until 2013, after US elections in November this year. The newspaper cited unnamed Western diplomatic and intelligence sources.

Netanyahu said Monday that sanctions against Iran had not worked, adding that "none of us can afford to wait much longer" in taking action against Iran's controversial nuclear program. Entire column...

Blog author's comments - Israel will do what needs to be done to protect its citizens and sovereignty.

They should have the advanced weaponry but, tying this to an extended political time frame that may not be feasible for Israel makes no sense, except to Obama. He only cares about one thing, a second term as president.

Netanyahu - NY Times One Of Israel's Enemies

Journalist: Netanyahu told me Israel's
biggest enemies are N.Y. Times, Haaretz

Jewish Light -- Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel’s two greatest enemies are The New York Times and Haaretz, the editor of The Jerusalem Post said in a speech.

Steve Linde, addressing a conference in Tel Aviv of the Women's International Zionist Organization, said Wednesday that Netanyahu made the remark to him about the newspapers at a private meeting "a couple of weeks ago" at the prime minister’s office in Tel Aviv.

“He said, ‘You know, Steve, we have two main enemies,’ ” Linde said, according to a recording of the WIZO speech provided to JTA. “And I thought he was going to talk about, you know, Iran, maybe Hamas. He said, ‘It’s The New York Times and Haaretz.’ He said, ‘They set the agenda for an anti-Israel campaign all over the world. Journalists read them every morning and base their news stories … on what they read in The New York Times and Haaretz.’ ”

Linde said he and other participants at the meeting asked Netanyahu whether he really thought that the media had that strong a role in shaping world opinion on Israel, and the prime minister replied, “Absolutely.”

Blog author's comments - The New York Times is one of the enemies of conservatives in America as well. It would certainly be quite a change to have someone the caliber of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as our president.

Israeli Prime Minister Addresses Congress

Israeli Prime Minister Gets 29 Standing Ovations
in Congress, Sends Message to White House

abc news - Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech before a joint meeting of Congress had all trappings of a State of the Union address by a president with sky-high approval ratings.

Speaking to a packed House chamber with Speaker Boehner and Vice President Biden over his shoulders, Netanyahu was repeatedly interrupted by applause – including more than 20 standing ovations.

One of his biggest applause lines was aimed directly at President Obama.

“Israel will not return to the indefensible boundaries of 1967,” Netanyahu said, prompting a big standing ovation.

Later he added: “Israel on the 1967 lines would be only 9 miles wide. So much for defensible borders.”

Nevertheless, Netanyahu's speech – and the thunderous bi-partisan response – was a clear challenge to the idea of using the 1967 boundaries – with or without “swaps” -- as a basis for a peace deal.

Netanyahu also got big ovations with hard-line statements on two other perennial sticking points to Israeli-Palestinian peace agreements: No right of return for Palestinian refugees, insisted, and “Jerusalem will never again be divided."

Netanyahu arguably got an warmer reception than President Obama received during his state of the union.

Quotes from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speech:

–”Time for Abbas to say I will accept a Jewish state.”

–”Israel will not return to the indefensible boundaries of 67."

–”The Palestinian refugee problem will be resolved outside the borders of Israel.”

–”Jerusalem must remain the united capital of Israel.”

–”Vital that Israel maintains a long term military presence along Jordan River.”

–”Peace cannot be imposed, it must be negotiated.”

–”Hamas leader condemned the killing of Osama Bin-Laden.”

–”To Abbas, tear up your pact with Hamas, and make peace with the Jewish state.”

(Over 45 minutes in length)

This is a topic dominating so much of the news these days. This video is very informative regading Israel's ability to defend itself.

The Facts About Israel's Borders In Five Minutes

Blog author's comments - Just a thought - how about the Republican Party finding a birth certificate for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, possibly in Hawaii, and giving him the nomination for the election in 2012. This of course is wishful thinking. He delivered a very refreshing speech, clear and straight to the point.

Just another example of how this country is starving for someone of character, who stands up for his convictions and doesn’t mince words. Were I President, I would have been certain to have stayed for this speech and been in the audience instead of running away.

Benjamin Netanyahu is a real leader. He has a known past. He speaks from real experiences and has been in real battles. What a contrast when compared to Barack Obama.

Israel is not what’s wrong with the Middle East. Attempting to push and scold our ally can only provide strength to anti-Israel terrorists who have and will continue to block any hope of peace.

Netanyahu Tells Obama No! - To Border Proposal

Netanyahu meets Obama, rejects 1967 border proposal

Reuters - WASHINGTON, May 20 - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday he was prepared to make compromises to peace but he rejected President Barack Obama's proposal that Israel return to its 1967 borders.

Obama and Netanyahu met at the White House a day after the U.S. president endorsed a longstanding Palestinian demand on the borders for their future state.

In remarks to reporters in the Oval Office, Obama said he had reiterated the principles he had laid out on Thursday.

Both men acknowledged differences between their positions.

Netanyahu gave our far left radical president a history lesson.

Blog author's comments - Barack Hussein Obama told Israel to move back to the 1967 borders. Basically, he wants to give the Hamas-Fatah terror alliance half of Jerusalem.

You mean the Israelis aren’t prepared to commit mass suicide to make Obama happy? The current occupant of the White House/Oval office is a total disgrace.

The Republican Party can learn a lot from Netanyahu. The Israeli Prime Minister sat down with Obama and with respect told him no, what you want is not going to happen. We need a Netanyahu in the Republican Party.
