A New York University librarian recently bemoaned the “racial fatigue” she experiences “in the presence of white people” following an academic conference. She groused about “nice white ladies” who had the audacity to tell her to be “civil” and “professional.” The racists.
April Hathcock, a Scholarly Communications Librarian at NYU, recently attended the annual American Library Association [ALA] conference in Chicago, a trade conference for people in the library profession.
Right after the conference, Hathcock took to her personal blog to describe her “Post-ALA Race Fatigue,” lamenting that she was suffering from “serious race fatigue” after spending five days amongst her colleagues…
“Race fatigue is a real physical, mental, and emotional condition that people of color experience after spending a considerable amount of time dealing with the micro- and macro-aggressions that inevitably occur when in the presence of white people,” Hathcock wrote. “The more white people, the longer the time period, the more intense the race fatigue.”
While Hathcock noted that she is normally exhausted after such conferences for reasons unrelated to racial issues, she said that this time she “hit her limit” after spending five days “being tone-policed and condescended to and ‘splained to.”
If any countermoonbats attend ALA conferences, they are sure to keep very low profiles. Yet even liberals are too white to be endured.
It probably never occurred to April that white people suffer from race fatigue too, and that she might not like the symptoms that develop.
Blog Author's Comments: Some advice on how April Hathcock could cure her ‘race fatigue’. Try to avoid people of different color if you possibly can. We all will be much happier. Coexist black person, coexist. You simply will not allow us to not think about you every second, will you? I am starting to think they cannot or refuse to assimilate here in America but it's just a hunch. And civility and professionalism are not racism; they are civilization.
Ms. Hathcock, what is your endgame? You've told us everything, over and over again, except the answer to that one simple question. And I believe that only a black female could get away with racial hatred like this and still keep her job. She is now a 'Scholarly Communications Librarian', really? Sure sounds like an affirmative action position to me and it was probably created by those white people she does not seem to like. This may be another failure of affirmative action and hiring through the quota system.
I am extremely tired as countless others are of the many blacks complaining about the white people. This is also ‘race fatigue’ for us. If this job is too much for April she could always try something else where she would not have to deal with the Caucasians. Perhaps she could work from her home. Or, maybe not working at all like many of her fellow blacks. They all seem to be eating well, kicking back and relaxing, with little stress and 'race' or mental fatigue.
And just maybe if she would attempt to get some regular exercise on a daily basis, this could also help with her problem. Exercise does seem to help clear the mind of the many problems that are bothersome. And this would also assist her in dropping at least 50-75 pounds. And then she may feel better both physically and mentally about herself and the white people.
