Issue 1: Democrats Trolling Voters Among Convicted Drug Dealers

As the nation struggles to come to grips with the opioid crisis and all of the families impacted by this lethal threat, Democrats in Ohio are more concerned with wooing the support of the drug dealer lobby.

Issue 1 is the initiative on the ballot on November 6 calling for a statewide constitutional amendment titled the “Drug and Criminal Justice Policies Initiative.” It should’ve been called the “Drug Dealer Amnesty Act.”

Issue 1 is disguised as prison reform to emphasize drug treatment over incarceration. I say “disguised” because Issue 1 is really about increasing Democrat voter turnout — not promoting serious policy reform. That’s why radical left-wing billionaires who don’t even live in Ohio, such as George Soros, have spent millions to get Issue 1 on the ballot and support its passage.

There are many things wrong with Issue 1, but I am content to focus on what will happen with drug dealers.

Meet fictional Joe. Joe is a convicted drug dealer who has served nine years of his 12-year prison sentence. Joe’s lawyer files for early release because under Issue 1, anyone not serving time for rape or murder is eligible for a 25 percent reduction in his sentence for participating in various rehabilitation programs.

Since Joe participated in one of these programs while he was in prison, he qualifies for the reduced sentence — regardless of his criminal history. Joe gets out of prison early and, because Joe lacks any employable job skills, he goes back to doing what he does best: selling drugs.

And why wouldn’t he? Issue 1 will reduce a felony conviction for narcotics possession to a misdemeanor charge. That means Joe would have to be caught in the actual act of making a drug sale to face charges for drug dealing. The organizations that represent the people we pay to catch drug dealers, the Fraternal Order of Police and the Buckeye Sheriffs Association, both oppose Issue 1 for this reason and several others.[…]

It’s clear why Issue 1 can be characterized as the Drug Dealer Amnesty Act. What isn’t clear is why Richard Cordray and other Democrat candidates support Issue 1. Amending Ohio’s Constitution is not the best vehicle for public policy change; certainly not for the dynamic challenges we face in sentencing reform, opioid abuse, and drug treatment. Once the constitution is amended it’s impossible to adjust it, correct errors, or improve it without passing another amendment. We can’t risk placing the Democrats’ bad policy in our constitution.[…]

Richard Cordray, the Democrat candidate for governor, has publicly endorsed Issue 1, but he gets squishy when it comes to explaining his position. Since the pro-Issue 1 campaign is bankrolled by the likes of George Soros and other left-wing special interests committed to electing Democrats, the real reason for Cordray’s support is no great mystery.

It’s that simple. Cordray and other Democrats support this ill-conceived drug dealer amnesty policy because they want more votes. That they would use a vulnerable population and play political games with our state’s constitution to earn them is no surprise, but must be stopped on November 6.

Blog Author's Comments: As an Ohio resident this is good information, as for Cordray he is a Democrat and his party has made it clear they are the party of hate and violence, absolutely no chance I would ever vote for him. But, his party will continue to lie and pander for the low-information voters. It does seem as though the Democrat Party supports criminals, if they can help them win elections.

Many democrat lawmakers must believe, why not let the criminals out early so they can continue their careers as drug dealers, gainfully employed? We should not put the general public at risk so the democrats can attain more votes to win elections and continue the same tactics of lying to govern. It is not surprising that the only difference between a "convicted felon" and a "felon" is one has been processed through the criminal justice system and the other is a liberal Democrat. Democrats need to be careful, their desperation is showing.

Will Nancy Pelosi Retire if Dems Lose?

Pelosi May Retire if Democrats Lose Control of the House

americaswatchtower.com
As if we needed any more incentive to vote next Tuesday, it is now being speculated that if the Democrats lose control of the House Nancy Pelosi will retire. Not just give up her gavel mind you, she may retire altogether from the House.

With several Democrats stating publicly that they will not vote for her as Speaker of the House if Democrats somehow manage to hold on to their majority, and with many Democrats refusing to state their support for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, it seems as if there it a looming power struggle growing within the ranks of House Democrats.

It has been reported that if the Democrats do hold onto the House that Nancy Pelosi would not seek another term as Speaker, but this news takes this election to another level. This news raises the stakes of this election even higher.

This turns Nancy Pelosi’s re-election bid into a national election–a referendum on the Speaker as well as the president. If this speculation is accurate we will not only have the chance to vote against her figuratively, we will have the chance to vote against her literally. We cannot let this chance pass us by!

And when you take into account the fact that most pundits agree that Democrats can not avoid losing the House, the likelihood of Democrats who will most likely blame her for the demise of their House majority - voting for Nancy Pelosi as minority leader seem next to zero.- Continue reading > > >

Blog author's comments - Aside from the GOP taking control of the House it would be satisfying to see Pelosi retire and Reid lose in Nevada.

I don't believe that San-Fran-Nan would enjoy losing her position of power. So if the Dems lose the House she is likely to retire. As for Reid, he could very well steal this election if he does not see a clear victory.

It would be a breath of fresh air to see these two out of the political picture. Perhaps this is all too much to hope for. We will see what the voters have to say next Tuesday. If what Obama has done to the country in two years does not force the people to the polls to vote against the Democrats, I have no idea what it will take.

I hope to see the Republicans in control of the House and pick up 7 or possibly 8 seats in the Senate.

Okay people - go to the polls on Tuesday, November 2 and remove the Democrats and RINO's. Do us all a favor so we can begin to change the direction in which Obama has the country and to convince the people that a Democrat president in 2012 is not acceptable. In my opinion Obama has proven that.

Nancy Pelosi - Time to retire!

The Outlook Dims for Democrats

A summer of polling data suggests the GOP can take the House

rove.com
With the midterm election less than two months away, all signs point to a punishing defeat for Democrats in the House of Representatives.

They show that Democratic incumbents trail GOP challengers in 30 districts and are behind in seven of nine open Democratic seats. By comparison, GOP incumbents are ahead in seven of the eight contests polled and Republican hopefuls lead in four of the six races for GOP open seats. If Republicans prevailed in these fights, they would net 34 of the 39 seats they need to win the House.

It could get worse. Of the 36 polls in which Democratic incumbents led, Republican challengers were within three points in 12 contests and within five points in 18 others. By contrast, in the 55 polls in which the GOP leads, the Republican is ahead by more than five points in 36. And in all but two instances in which data are available, the Democrat incumbents are significantly better known than their GOP challengers. As these challengers become better known, they're likely to rise in the polls. . . Entire column
Blog author's comments - - I continue to hear and read that the GOP has a good chance to take back the House in November. I have also heard some say the GOP could win the Senate. This is polling data and we have all seen that polls can be very inaccurate.

Personally, I don't need a poll to tell me that the Republican Party can win the House. If they do not, I don't know what it will take to pry the Democrats from power. I have never seen an administration as inept and entirely wrong for this country as the Obama administration.

If the GOP does not win big, that tells both me and most importantly, the Democrats, that most of the voters still agree and approve of what Obama is doing, and think his fellow Democrats are also good for the country.

They must also agree with Obama's policies, agenda, and out of control spending. I will also assume they are okay with the governments take over of the health care system, and are content with the unemployment rate at 10% with little or no job creation in the near future.

Many Democrats Face Economic Facts

Democrats Face Economic Facts: Updraft Unlikely

Wall Street Journal
By Laura Meckler

WASHINGTON—The string of bad news about housing, employment and economic growth has led Democrats to an inescapable conclusion: the economy is not likely to improve in time to help them in the fall elections.

Congressional Democrats and the White House will continue their attempts to enact policies they believe will boost the economy—and which are also aimed at persuading voters they are working to make things better. But some officials acknowledge it is too late for these initiatives to change the economic situation ahead of the Nov. 2 elections.

"We begin early voting in about 33 days. It would be hugely unrealistic to anticipate some kind of monumental economic turnaround between now and when people start casting our votes," said Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, who faces a tough re-election race.

"I'm having to deal with the reality of what is. You can't wish it away. What is, is." In Washington, Democrats hope they will get credit for legislation aimed at helping small businesses, which they plan to consider in September.

A Democratic House leadership aide said some lawmakers in the party would push for another spending bill to stimulate the economy, though he said other Democrats are likely to oppose such a move.

"I would have loved to have a better economic picture, but it is what it is," he said. "I didn't have great expectations."- Entire column

Blog author's comments - The chance for Republicans to gain back some power, looks better than it did six months ago.

But, do not take a big win in November for granted. Go to the polls and vote. Rid Washington of as many Democrats and RINO's as possible.

Gibbs - Dems Will Retain The House and Senate

Robert Gibbs: Democrats Will Keep House & Senate In November

Good luck Bobby...little Bobby now knows what he has to say, after the slap down he received a few weeks ago from Queen Pelosi.

The Hill
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs doubled down on Friday on his election prediction, saying Democrats would keep the House and the Senate.

Gibbs said that Democrats were running stronger campaigns right now than Republicans, and that, despite having previously said there was "no doubt" the GOP could win the majority, Democrats would maintain theirs.

"I think it's a fairly simple choice come November," Gibbs said on ABC's "Good Morning America." "I think Democrats will be successful, and we'll keep the House and the Senate."

Gibbs had previously backtracked off his words cautioning that Republicans could be successful in their midterm efforts, an admission that angered many Democratic leaders in Congress.

Blog author's comments - Robert Gibbs is of course using the Democrat party talking points. VP, Joe Biden has already said earlier in the week that "this is the Bush recession.” What else can the Obama regime use during their campaign for the midterm election? They certainly cannot tout their policies, agenda and out of control spending. They will continue to blame Bush.

Obama knows exactly what he is doing to the country. He is remaking it into what he feels and was taught it should be. If you disagree with what he is doing you are labeled a "racist." Well, I guess this includes me because I have never seen a president do so much damage in such a short time as Obama.

If you are a conservative, this November 2nd will be our last chance to take back the House and possibly the Senate. The GOP must get their act together.

Unfortunately, the Republican party has not proven, up to this point, that they have the leadership skills required to do what must be done. They have to explain to the public the serious problems we now have in our country. I am hopeful that within the past year the GOP has formulated a plan of action, should they regain some power, and are given a chance to stop what the Obama administration will continue to do.

We the voters have to help give them and ourselves that chance. We must take back the House of Representatives and some Senate seats. Go to the polls in November and rid this country of as many liberals and RINO's as possible. This will be the most important election you have faced in your lifetime, do not squander it.
