Obama - Cancels The Immigration Enforcement Program In Arizona

Gov. Brewer: Obama Shows 'Utter Disregard'
for Arizona in Canceling Immigration Enforcement Program

CNS News -- Hours after the Supreme Court upheld a key provision of Arizona's immigration law, President Obama "demonstrated anew his utter disregard for the safety and security of the Arizona people," Gov. Jan Brewer announced on Monday.

"Within the last two hours, I have been notified the Obama administration has revoked the 287(g) agreement," which allows Arizona police to partner with the federal government in enforcing immigration law.

It's no coincidence, Brewer said, noting that while 68 law enforcement bodies in 24 states have 287(g) agreements with the federal government, the only agreement eliminated on Monday was the one with Arizona -- "the state that happens to be on the front lines of America's fight against illegal immigration," she said.

"We are on our own, apparently," Brewer said in the statement posted on her website.

“I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised," she continued. "The Obama administration has fought the people of Arizona at every turn -- downplaying the threat that a porous border poses to our citizens, filing suit in order to block our State from protecting itself, unilaterally granting immunity to tens of thousands of illegal aliens living in our midst, and now this. Still, the disarmament of Arizona’s 287(g) agreements is a new low, even for this administration."

Gov. Jan Brewer Slams Obama Administration For
Abandoning AZ: They've Said 'Drop Dead And Go Away'

Blog author's comments - Gov. Jan Brewer is following the rule of law in an attempt to curtail the number of illegals who cross the border into Arizona. Barack Obama is making the situation in Arizona very difficult for both the Governor and law enforcement personnel trying to protect their state.

The president is upset because he did not get everything he thought he should have with the SCOTUS ruling on the Arizona illegal immigration case. So, he cancelled the Immigration Enforcement Program between Arizona and the government, which allows Arizona police to work with the federal government to enforce immigration law. The President of the United States does not want immigration laws enforced. It's just that simple.

Obama, if he wins a second term, will find a way to give the illegals amnesty and eventually citizenship, so they can vote for the Democrats. This is and has always been his ultimate goal.

If Obama and the Democrats are defeated this and many other problems his administration has promoted and created can be solved. I have no idea how the majority of the voters can support Obama in November. I also fear what the Obama administration will do to this country if he is in the White House four more years.

Obama Lawyer - Arizona Law Will Cause 'Foreign Relations Problems'

Obama Lawyer: Arizona Law Will Result in 'Mass Incarceration,'
Causing 'Significant Foreign Relations Problems'

CNS News -- The lawyer arguing for the Obama administration against provisions in Arizona’s controversial immigration law said Wednesday that if the U.S. Supreme Court upholds S.B. 1070 “mass incarceration” of Latinos would cause “significant foreign relations problems.”

During oral arguments before the high court on the law – which allows state police to check the immigration status of individuals stopped, detained or arrested for other reasons – Solicitor General Donald Verrilli responded to Justice Antonin Scalia’s remarks that Arizona seems to be merely enacting laws that are already federal statutes.

“Well, what I think they are going to do in Arizona is something quite extraordinary, that has significant real and practical foreign relations effects,” Verrilli said. “And that's the problem, and it's the reason why this power needs to be vested exclusively in the federal government.”

Verrilli said Arizona’s “Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act” takes that power away from the government and gives it to the state.

“And so – so, you’re going to have a situation of mass incarceration of people who are unlawfully present,” he argued. “That is going to raise – poses a very serious risk of raising significant foreign relations problems.

Justice Anthony Kennedy responded: “So you’re saying the government has a legitimate interest in not enforcing its laws?”

“No,” Verrilli replied. “We have a legitimate interest in enforcing the law, of course, but it needs to be – but these – this court has said over and over again, has recognized that the balance of interest that has to be achieved in enforcing the immigration laws is exceedingly delicate and complex, and it involves consideration of foreign relations, it involves humanitarian concerns...[...]

“It seems to me that the federal government just doesn’t want to know who’s here illegally,” commented Chief Justice John Roberts.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed SB 1070 into law two years ago. Several groups, including the Department of Justice, challenged the law in court.

Only eight justices will decide the case since Justice Elena Kagan recused herself because of her work on immigration during her tenure as Solicitor General.

The court is expected to rule on the case by the end of its current term this summer. Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, Indiana and Utah have proposed or enacted similar legislation.

What does “foreign relations problems” have to do with illegals breaking our immigration laws? If the federal government will not enforce the laws then the state should be able to administer the laws and protect its citizens. It appears that the elected officials in Arizona take this seriously unlike most of the Democrats in the federal government.

Obama wants illegals here because to him they are potential Democratic Party voters. Hopefully Arizona wins this one and can begin to gain control of the illegals.

Obama - A King That Is Above The Law?

Ariz. Gov. Jan Brewer: Obama Acts
Like He's Above Law on Immigration

Newsmax - Republicans are attacking President Barack Obama for acting like a “king that is above the law” in deciding to pick and choose which illegal aliens to deport.

“The Obama administration cannot get its amnesty schemes through Congress, so now it has resorted to implementing its plans via executive fiat,” said Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer.

“We need to remind President Obama that we elected a president that serves beneath the law and did not anoint a king that is above the law.”

Joining her criticisms were two other border-state Republicans, Reps. Michael McCaul and Lamar Smith of Texas.

“It’s just the latest attempt by this president to bypass the intended legislative process when he does not get his way,” McCaul said.

Smith said, “The Obama administration should enforce immigration laws, not look for ways to ignore them."

And Florida Rep. Allen West jumped into the fray, too, calling for a House investigation into the guidelines. In an exclusive interview with Newsmax.TV, he accused Obama of “shredding the Constitution” with the new guidelines. “It is a form of amnesty and it does go against our Constitution and it very much concerns me because now we are rewarding people for an illegal activity,” he said.

“Think about the strain that is going to come on the types of services and things that we have to provide,” West added, saying aliens are getting a free pass.

Brewer pointed to a speech Obama made to the Hispanic civil rights group, the National Council of La Raza, in Washington on July 25, in which he rejected the idea of imposing immigration reform without reference to Congress.

“He said, ‘Now, I know some people want me to bypass Congress and change the laws on my own. And, believe me, right now dealing with Congress, the idea of doing things on my own is very tempting. But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions. That’s not how our Constitution is written.’

Blog author's comments -The President needs to have his pen taken away. With every illegal that is now in or enters our country Obama happily sees them as another future voter for the Democrat Party.

Once he is out of office with millions stashed in his pockets, he will have done what he intended to do prior to the election of 2008 - mission accomplished.

With this and now his instructions to be racist in hiring federal workers, Obama is a presidential criminal. He has repeatedly violated his oath of office in directing his administration to disregard the law and Constitution. Congress is also on vacation, but if they were in Washington not many of them would attempt to stop what Obama has done.

How long are we going to sit and allow Obama and his followers to continue destroying what so many have died to preserve? Even if the Republican Party can win the White House, retain control of the House and win the Senate it will take many years to undue even a portion of what the Obama regime has done in less than three years in office.

Barack Obama Makes Border Security a Joke

Arizona Responds to Obama's
'Alligator Moat' Speech

This is a hard-hitting and effective response from the state that has had to endure the most turmoil due to the federal government's failures at the US/Mexico border.

Blog author's comments - Every illegal that is here or enters, Obama counts them as another vote for the Democrats. This is all he and the members of the Democrat Party care about.

Obama, you know who’s not laughing either? The victims of violence and crime committed by illegals that you and your party are allowing to come in.

Obama held a meeting at the White House to discuss the broken immigration system. He met with a bipartisan group. He did not invite any governors from border states. Why not?

Arizona Declares War - Suing Obama Regime

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer Files Lawsuit Against Obama
Administration Over Failure to Secure Border
And Enforce Immigration Laws

Governor Jan Brewer has announced on behalf of the State of Arizona, she is suing the Federal Government.

There are 5 counts and here is a summary from the press conference.

1/ failure to achieve operational control over the Mexico/Arizona border.

2/ failure to protect Arizona from invasion and Arizona says invasion not just limited to other countries to invade but applies to people and secured border.

3 / failure to enforce immigration laws . . . . and their failure causes national security risks . . . abuse of discretion that Fed only enforce the law they want to and they should enforce all.

4/ declaratory relief about reimbursement for Fed govt’s failure to pay for incarceration of prisoners (illegal).

5/ under 10th amendment . . . powers not delegated to the Fed, are reserved to the people and while control of border is fed responsibility, when criminals cross border illegally and commit crimes, it is a state responsibility and the Feds are interfering with the state to fulfill its responsibilities

Blog author's comments - Every state should join this lawsuit. We the people of the United States of America have the right to have our borders and our laws respected and enforced.

Citizens of other countries who are in our country illegally have no right to demand anything from our government. If they want to be Americans, we have a path to citizenship; just follow the rules that are in place.

I don't want to hear anything or anyone talk about amnesty for the illegals, they are breaking the law period! Those who want to enforce the law to protect their states and their people are stopped from doing so by Barack Obama, Eric Holder and left-wing judges. Obama sees illegals as future votes for the Democrat Party.

We need to insist on the equal protection, application and enforcement of the law. We can only function if everyone follows the same rules. We should not change the laws to accommodate those breaking them.

Arizona Gov. Brewer on Obama's Lack of Support

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer on FOX News with Greta Van Susteren.

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer on FOX News in an interview with Greta Van Susteren. Gov. Brewer takes Barack Obama to task over his lack of response to the illegal immigration problem they have. She has asked for help and support from the Federal government but all they receive is talk, no action. Watch the video.

We have a pathetic "community organizer" in the White House and it's quite obvious to the folks in Arizona that he does not want to do anything to help them.

He in fact is standing in their way. He does not want them to accomplish what they know must be done to save their state. They have passed a new state immigration bill AB1070, which is to take affect in July 2010, to help control the flow of illegals crossing their border.

Obama is saying that he knows best, that the bill will not work. His administration has even threatened to file a Federal law suit against the state to negate the bill. Obama is defending people who are breaking the law by even being here.

I have said it before, Obama envisions illegal immigrants as future Democrat voters, as soon as his party can ram through a bill to give the illegals' amnesty. Presently he is laying the groundwork by letting the illegals' know that he is on their side.

From the polling data I have seen, the majority of the American people believe the bill Arizona has passed is both fair and definitely needed.

Brewer: Obama immigration speech "helpless"
by Jim Cross/KTAR and Associated Press (July 2nd, 2010)

PHOENIX -Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer says President Barack Obama's speech on immigration reform provided no answers to the problem.

"What a helpless speech," Brewer told News/Talk 92.3 KTAR by phone from Sedona, where she had a speaking engagement Thursday.

"Where's the action?" Brewer asked. "He described perfectly my opinion of the complete failure of the federal government, something that has been failing the people of America for a decade or more."

She added, "The bottom line is that we are a nation of laws and they have to be complied with. And, if they are not, we will fall. We have chaos in Mexico, and we are beginning to experience the same kind of chaos in Arizona."

She said, "The system is broken, the border is broken. We all know what we need... People in Arizona have made it very, very clear. Let's talk about the problem that is at hand. Let's secure the border". . . Entire column

Gov. Jan Brewer - On Meeting With President Obama To Discuss The Immigration Bill

Arizona Governor Jan Brewer was recently interviewed by CNN with regard to her possible meeting with President Obama. Prior to the scheduled meeting between them, Gov. Brewer had asked to meet with Obama to discuss Arizona's problems with illegal immigrants. She wanted his help in closing the border. Apparently Obama did care to meet with her.

Since Arizona has passed their immigration bill which will go into affect this summer, and the White House has seen the polls of the American people and how they support the bill, Obama wants to meet with the Governor.

When asked in the CNN interview for her response if the President threatens to file suit to stop the Arizona bill, Gov. Jan Brewer said she will tell Obama, "we'll meet you in court."

To bad all states cannot have a governor much like Jan Brewer.
