Daily Caller -- Former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power tried to reveal the identity of more than 260 Americans in 2016, according to a Fox News report published Wednesday.
The ex-public official allegedly averaged more than one unmasking request for each formal working day, even continuing her spree towards the final days of the Obama administration.
The House Intelligence Committee’s unmasking probe named Power as a person of interest, along with former Obama national security advisers Susan Rice and Ben Rhodes, as well as former CIA Director John Brennan. Congressional investigators suspect that at least one of them may have tried to obtain the identities of Trump associates through intelligence reports.
The people of interest are all expected to testify before Congress in October, Fox News reports, but likely in classified sessions.
NSA Director Mike Rogers said earlier in March that 20 people at the NSA, along with a few officials at the FBI, the CIA and the U.S. Department of Justice, have the ability to “unmask” Americans whose communications are entangled with the communications of a foreigner.
In a letter to Dan Coats, the director of the office of national intelligence, California Rep. Devin Nunes, a Republican, wrote that investigators within the House Intelligence Committee “learned that one official, whose position had no apparent intelligence-related function, made hundreds of unmasking requests during the final year of the Obama Administration.” He did not specify, however, who the particular person is and what their proper jurisdiction and responsibility was due to their position.
Power’s lawyer, David Pressman, has said that “Ambassador Power was also a member of the National Security Council responsible for advising the President on the full-range of threats confronting the United States,” according to Fox News. But he denied any wrongdoing for his client, stating that “any insinuation that Ambassador Power was involved in leaking classified information is absolutely false.”
Nunes also contended that senior Obama administration officials, “offered remarkably few individualized justifications” for the unmasking requests, and added that some “were followed by anonymous leaks of those names to the media.”

Susan Rice said something very similar - until the evidence proved her to (still) be a liar. And yet nothing has been done. Why did Ms. Power, the UN Ambassador, feel the need to unmask hundreds of people, up until Inauguration Day? That was no-doubt from orders of Obama, and this is what the current DOJ and American citizens should be concerned about, the abuse of power. On a side note, has anyone else noticed that Power always looks as if she is in pain? Yet when around Obama, appears as if she is in the presence of a God.
Meanwhile the faux-Russian narrative is still being manned by more democrat lawyers working for special counsel Robert Mueller while his best buddy, former FBI Director James Comey, writes his book and delivers a series of lectures at Howard University, a historically black college. President Trump is guilty of no crime involving the Russians. Robert Mueller and staff are looking to find something, anything, to pin on somebody who was at one time connected to Trump or knew him. This investigation is purely a waste of taxpayer's money and a witch hunt. The entire charade is because AG Jeff Sessions recused himself. He obviously did not believe he could handle his job. Trump should have ousted him months ago and brought on someone who is much tougher and stronger.
The DOJ will accomplish nothing with Sessions at the helm. He should resign and open the way for the president to appoint another AG. This Mueller investigation is only one element of a much larger plan to destabilize the Trump administration, all of which had the active participation and involvement of Lynch, Jarrett, Comey, and Obama. The integrity of the Justice system in this country depends on prosecutions brought on all the culprits involved. Most of the illegal things they did right in front of our faces and dared anyone to do anything about it. As a result, the weak republicans did nothing. I'm sure the stuff they did behind our backs is worse but unfortunately, unless we get some people in congress who aren't afraid of and are not part of the establishment, and will actually do their job, we will never know.
