Washington Examiner -- In response to the less than impressive August jobs report this morning, Alan B. Krueger, Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers reminded Americans that the economy was still on its way to recovery.
On CNBC this morning Krueger reminded Americans the importance of taking the news “in context.”
“I say every month when the news comes in it’s important to take a step back, take today’s report in the context of other information that’s coming in,” he said. “We see a pattern that the economy is continuing to heal from the very deep recession that struck at the end of 2007 and really came to a boil in 2008.”
In a statement issued by the White House, Krueger added that it was “critical” for Washington to “continue the policies that are building an economy that works for the middle class.”
Blog author's comments - The economy is not 'continuing to heal.' The Obama administration has been a disaster. Obama's policies, agenda and massive spending have definitely put the economy in the shape it is now. He owns this economy.
U.S. employers added 96,000 jobs last month. The unemployment rate fell to 8.1 percent from 8.3 percent in July, the Labor Department said Friday. But that was only because more people gave up looking for work. 368,000 people dropped out of the workforce. The government only counts people as unemployed if they are actively searching for work.
The government also said 41,000 fewer jobs were created in July and June than first estimated. The economy has added just 139,000 jobs a month since the beginning of the year, below 2011′s average of 153,000. The unemployment rate has been above 8% for the 43rd straight month.
Many of the voters do not know enough about what the Obama administration has done to the country because the liberal media is controlled by the White House. If the facts were honestly reported, Obama's approval rating would be less than 30%.
