President Donald Trump spoke about the ongoing threat posed to the United States by illegal immigration, vowing to send illegal immigrants back to their county of origin.
“We have a catch-and-release program, too,” he said. “It’s called, we catch them and we release them in the country they came back from. We’re getting them out or we’re putting them in prison.”
The president made his remarks during a speech to memorialize fallen law enforcement officers on Capitol Hill.
Trump called on Congress to secure the borders, stop sanctuary cities, and eliminate policies allowing violent criminals back into the communities.
He noted that MS-13 gang leaders were urging members to assassinate police officers in New York City in order to “take back the streets.”
“They got it wrong,” he replied. “We are the ones who are taking back the streets. We are getting them out of our country by the thousands.”

Blog Author's Comments: Finally, we have a president who believes as most of America does or should. We currently have laws with regard to illegal immigrants. They should go through the legal process if they wish to come to our country. If they have walked across the border and are living here without doing so, our laws stipulate what Trump wants to do, send them back to their own country or put them in prison.
They expect to stay here and live off of our country, which is what president Obama and the democrats promoted and still do. This is designed to eventually add more voters and support to their party in an attempt to gain and then remain in power. The Democrats really don't care about helping the illegals, only to increase their base and support. They are the party of 'free stuff' courtesy of the taxpayers.
If some members of the GOP felt the same way as the president, the Republican Party could remain in power for a long time. But, so many of the career politicians only care about being reelected and retaining their jobs, and then receiving a lifetime pension and healthcare, very sad indeed. Our president deserves abundant credit, for his leadership and what he has accomplished, especially if one considers what he has accomplished while so many people, organizations, and the media are continually attempting to take him down.
