Rep. Gohmert: President Trump Was Lied To By Speaker Ryan

GP -- Yesterday, President Trump pulled the healthcare bill after it fell short of the votes needed to pass. The highly unpopular ‘Ryancare’ replacement of Obamacare left the Republicans divided.

Did Trump give Paul Ryan just enough rope to hang himself? It is no secret that Paul Ryan has contempt for President Trump and is working to sabotage him. This may be Trump’s plan to have Paul Ryan ousted and replaced.

It is a mixed bag of emotions today after the Obamacare repeal failed to pass. The replacement, dubbed ‘Ryancare’ was highly unpopular and often referred to as ‘Obamacare 2.0’. Of course we want Obamacare repealed, however; we don’t want another big government solution to replace it. Today’s ‘failure’ may have paved the path to a conservative solution.

Many people are now speculating why Donald Trump seemed to support this unpopular solution. It did fall on Paul Ryan’s shoulders as he gave a press conference afterwards looking very defeated. Calls for his resignation are getting louder and louder.

President Trump knows that with Paul Ryan as House Speaker, he won’t be able to accomplish any of his goals. He knows that Paul Ryan is working against him at every turn. This may have been the perfect set up to have Paul Ryan replaced.

Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) went on Varney and Co. on Friday and accused Speaker Ryan of lying to President Trump over the Obamacare bill.

Gohmert was one GOP lawmaker who would not support Ryancare. The vote was called off on Friday afternoon.

Louie Gohmert on President Trump: "I know he’s mad at me but God bless him. He’s been lied to. We’ve been lied to. This is a bad bill. It keeps Obamacare in place in perpetuity. He’s not going to be able to get rid of it… But I have got to stand up as unpopular as people I love think it is… I don’t enjoy being called a coward for standing up by myself… I deeply regret that Obamacare is going to be here to stay and that President Trump was handed such a terrible hand."
Blog Author's Comments: Do the people who voted for and support President Donald Trump remember what the Speaker of the House Paul Ryan said about the president? Paul Ryan: I'm not ready to support Donald Trump. "I'm just not ready to do that at this point." I don't believe he is now or will ever be ready.

Neither Ryan nor Mitch McConnell expected Trump to win the election. I think they were both surprised and also disappointed that Trump is now our president. Ryan and McConnell are now expected to work and attempt to do what the president asks of them and what is right for our country. They cannot coast as they would have if Hillary was the president. Ryan and the GOP members of the House should have been working on a new healthcare bill, that everyone could agree on. You don't wait until a few months before the President and Party wants to roll it out as a replacement for Obamacare. They should have had confidence and felt assured of being able to pass a very much improved healthcare bill.

I, of course, trust President Trump and Gohmert but have never cared for or had any trust with Paul Ryan. I believe Ryan's mission is to make Trump a one term president. There is a chance he could also obstruct Trump on tax reform. The entire House should come together and decide who should be the speaker, because the Republicans are not going to be able to retain control of the Presidency, House and Senate for many terms, which they have to do, with Paul Ryan as the Speaker.
