Obama - Don't Blame Me For The Unemployment Rate

White House blames Europe for unemployment rate increase

Washington Examiner -- President Obama's spokesman today blamed Europe for the rise in unemployment, though he noted that the economy did add some jobs.

"We're digging out of a very deep hole," Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters today. "We're also seeing continued instability in the Eurozone."

The unemployment rate increased in May from 8.1 to 8.2 percent due to news that only 69,000 people were hired in May and that 49,000 fewer jobs were created in the previous two months than the Labor Department initially reported.

"The longer term trends still indicated that we have an economy that is adding jobs," Earnest maintained, though he acknowledged that the job growth remains too slow.

Blog author's comments - Obama's spokesman said: "We're digging out of a very deep hole." The main reason the hole is so deep is for the first two years of Obama's term the Democrats also controlled the House and the spending was out of control. When you find yourself at the bottom of a deep hole, the first thing to do is stop digging.

How is it possible that President Obama thinks the American people believe or have any inkling that he is not responsible? This is the left and their character trait of 'self-denial of the obvious truth'. The Obama regime thinks that people will believe a big lie sooner than a little one, and if you repeat it enough times people will sooner or later believe it.

Blame Europe, blame Bush. There can’t be that many people left in this country who do not see this amateur for what he really is. He has not and will never take any responsibility for the shape we now find ourselves. If he wins a second term, it's only going to get much worse -- beyond anything we can imagine.

First time commenting. Like your site. I'll disagree slightly that Obama is the sole reason behind the unemployment rate. Unemployment has been rough ever since I graduated high school thirteen years ago (and probably before that) - and for a lot of my peers. That said, his penchant for playing the role of "burdened-by-Bush" is getting old fast. I'm tired of hearing what kind of a hole he was placed in. Hole, no hole - who cares? If the Titanic is sinking, why blame the iceberg? Do something about it!

Gabe Watcher -- I think since Obama has been in office his policies and agenda are largely responsible for the shape the economy is now in. He has done so much to bring it down and nothing to help it.

Many business owners fear what Obama will do. I also think many are waiting to see if he wins a second term. I do believe that as long as Obama is the president, the economy will not see a significant improvement.
