Speaker Boehner - On Latest Budget Plan

John Boehner Explains His New Plan to Rush Limbaugh

Blog author's comments - I don't like this latest budget plan. Should Boehner compromise with Obama, I say no! We are being played by the ruling class in Washington.

At this point in time it seems to me that Boehner is ready to pass a bill which is not in the best interest of the country because he is afraid of a government shutdown. If Obama wants to shutdown the government, let him do it. Of course with the help of some members of the media he will attempt to blame the GOP.

Obama's only real goal is to win a second term as president. He does not want a short term solution, he wants a bill which will run through the 2012 election and includes tax increases. Today NBC's Chuck Todd asked Jay Carney the White House press secretary about the White House’s reluctance to release its plan to deal with the national debt and raising the debt ceiling. When Todd pressed for details – “Why not just release it?” – Carney seemed surprised. “You need it written down?”

This latest bill is nothing much at all. It proposes to cut $1.1 trillion over 10 years. That’s a mere cut of $100 billion each year if it ever happens. None of the bills cut into the deficit and all of them raise the debt ceiling. I doubt that this latest attempt by Boehner will pass in the House or Senate.
