The White House continues to claim that Special Counsel Robert Mueller will end his inquiry into possible collusion between Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Russian government.
The Wall Street Journal reported Monday:The Journal added: “An outside legal expert [Stephen Gillers, professor of legal ethics at New York University] said Monday he was dubious that Mr. Mueller’s inquiry is barreling toward a swift conclusion.”
In an interview Monday, Jay Sekulow, a member of the president’s legal team, stood by the prediction that the part of the inquiry involving Mr. Trump would end soon. Still, he avoided any mention of specific dates.
“I know we, collectively, the lawyers, are looking forward to an expeditious wrapping up of this matter,” Mr. Sekulow said.
A spokesman for Mr. Mueller’s office declined to comment.
In August, Ty Cobb, one of the lawyers handling the White House’s approach to the Russia inquiry, said: ““I’d be embarrassed if this is still haunting the White House by Thanksgiving and worse if it’s still haunting him by year end.”
However, with former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn pleading guilty earlier this month to lying to the FBI, and the ongoing prosecution of former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort on charges unrelated to the campaign itself, there is every possibility that the Special Counsel will extend his investigation for months or even years, even if he strays far afield from his original mandate to probe Russian “collusion.”
The White House points out that there is still no evidence of actual collusion with Russia. In addition, the FBI is now troubled by allegations of political bias and conflicts of interest in the probe.

Blog Author's Comments: Special Counsel Robert Mueller is going to hover around and try to do his best at keeping the swamp intact, on the taxpayer’s money. The White House lawyers do not have any idea when Mueller will end this, it could stretch on for years. He should have been asked by now, if he has found anything that brings any guilt upon the president and if not he should issue a statement in that regard. This was a probe into 'Russia Collusion' concerning the 2016 election and has he found anything that could have changed the outcome of the election? We all know he has not, because there was none.
Robert Mueller’s team, for all these many months have been digging into President Trump's life and that of his family. Mueller, Comey, and McCabe all need to be held accountable for attempting a coup under the guise of the rule of law. They are criminals and have turned the FBI into a corrupt, political police force. They are attempting to help setup the Democrats for a win in the midterm elections, in my mind this is what Mueller's work is now about. It's really disappointing to observe that the present Attorney General Sessions is no where to be seen, with all of this scandalous activity going on around him.
Mueller has accumulated a huge amount of information concerning Trump and his life. Will this at some time in the future be turned over to the White House lawyers? I don't think so and even if they see anything the White House will not receive it all. It has been stashed for future use against the president and his people. Mueller will use what he can some time in the future, to help the Democrats or write a book etc. It is almost as if he now wants the president to fire him which would give the Democrats and MSM ammunition to use both in 2018 and 2020.
