Trump: No Welfare For Immigrants For At Least Five Years...

Truth Revolt -- President Trump brought the house down Wednesday night during his speech in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, particularly when he laid out some new plans on immigration.

“I believe the time has come for new immigration rules which say that those seeking admission into our country must be able to support themselves financially and should not use welfare for a period of at least five years,” the president said.

Legislation will be presented for that “very shortly,” Trump added, standing in front of banners that stated “Promises Made, Promises Kept.”

But that’s not all:
“Another core principle is that those coming to our country must embrace our values and love our people.”
NBC News noted that a Bill Clinton-era policy already exists, the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996, which bans immigrants from receiving federal benefits for five years. But the report also pointed out that “the law has exceptions and additional legislation since its passage has also affected eligibility.”

Right. So it needs to be fixed.

Trump also told supporters that the plans for building the wall might include solar panels. He quipped, “This way, Mexico will have to pay much less money.”

It was clear that NBC News reporter Ali Vitali couldn’t hide his disdain for the president in his report, calling Trump’s speech “rambling” and chiding him for “bashing Democrats.”

We get it, it’s tough to be on the losing team.
Blog Author's Comments: Immigrants should not be allowed to enter the United States unless they get in line and begin the legal process towards becoming a citizen of the country. Other immigrants, who are coming here to work for an existing company, and are educated and skilled, should be doing so legally and only for a specified amount of time. This notion of flooding into the U.S. to live for "free" off of our welfare system in exchange for voting democrat is insanity.

And what about addressing the millions of illegal aliens already in the U.S. on welfare? These people are getting public subsistence with everything from food to education and housing. While I agree with President Trump's recommendation, he and his lawyers currently have a case before the Supreme Court, based on his Executive order 13769 suspending for 90 days the entry of certain aliens from seven countries: Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. People from these countries are not allowed into the country until they are thoroughly vetted.

These are countries that had already been identified as presenting heightened concerns about terrorism and travel to the United States. This case should not even be heard by the high court except for the liberal Democratic judges that issued a stay on President Trump's Executive order. They, because of their political leanings apparently would rather take the chance of letting someone into the U.S. who may kill and maim our people. The existing laws we have to control illegal immigration are not being enforced and those that are already here continue to live their illegal alien lives unabated at our expense.

Now, if only the Republican Congress could come to some agreement and pass the needed legislation on other very important bills so that the president can sign them into law. There will be zero help from the members of the Democratic Party. As I have said many times, Trump cannot do these things himself. And I do not believe the members of Congress should take their 'August break' until they actually accomplish some of the items on his agenda as they are being paid to do.

FBI Briefing On The GOP Shooting Couldn't Have Been More Bizarre

Debbie Wassermann Schultz Accuses Top Obama Official Of Lying

Most Americans (On All Sides) Now Agree Bias Infects The Media

Leaker James Comey Spotted Entering The NY Times Office

Quote For The Day: "The FBI’s briefing appears so contrary to the facts as to be insulting. When a man with a history of hating Republicans cases a location, takes pictures, verifies the targets are Republicans before opening fire, has a list of Republican politicians in his pocket, and shoots and nearly kills Republicans, it’s hard to swallow the FBI’s contention that the shooting was “spontaneous” with “no target.” The agency should reconsider whether it wants to troll Americans about something this serious." -- Mollie Hemingway

Here's How Much Welfare The Average Immigrant Family Uses Each Year

Daily Caller -- The average immigrant household draws more than $6,000 from the welfare system in a year, costing U.S. taxpayers 41 percent more than people born in the country, a new study finds.

Immigrants with low education levels and higher numbers of children tend to use up the most benefits, according to the analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), which found immigrant families consume $6,234 a year on average. The benefits come in the form of cash payments, food, Medicaid and housing.

Illegal immigrant households are included in the figure, since some can access the system through their U.S.-born children. Although illegal immigrants are barred from accessing welfare payments, CIS determined the households still cost the system more than $5,600 in a year on average.

The study follows CIS reports last year that 51 percent of households led by immigrants use at least one welfare program, and legal immigrants account for 75 percent of all immigrant welfare use. Many immigrants hold jobs, but still qualify for welfare because they tend to make less money and have more children.

“If we continue to permit large numbers of less-educated people to move here from abroad, we have to accept that there will be huge and ongoing costs to taxpayers,” CIS executive director Mark Krikorian said in a statement announcing the study. More than 24 percent of immigrant households are led by a high school dropout, compared to 8 percent of households led by individuals born in the country. Thirteen percent of immigrant-led households have three or more children, compared to just 6 percent of U.S.-born households.

CIS found the average U.S.-born household received $4,431 in welfare benefits.
Blog Author's Comments -- There are many people who are citizens of our country who need to be taken care of because of illness and physical and mental problems severe enough that they cannot take care of themselves. These are the folks who should be helped. The rest of the people, able bodied citizens, immigrants and illegals should take care of themselves. The illegals should not be here, they are breaking our laws, but the Obama administration is giving them a free pass.

I am convinced Obama wants to do as much damage to the United States as he can during his time as president. The lives of many people are not as good as they were prior to the Obama presidency. It is time to gather up those who should not be here and move them out of the country, and we desperately need a president who will follow the rules of the land and put a stop to much of what is now happening. And that person is certainly not Hillary Clinton.

Some Food For Thought...

These three short paragraphs tell you a lot about the direction of our current government and cultural environment:

1. We are advised to not judge all Muslims by the actions of a few lunatics, but we are encouraged to judge all gun owners by the actions of a few lunatics. Funny how that works.

2. Seems we constantly hear about how Social Security is going to run out of money. Why don't we ever hear about welfare or food stamps running out of money? What's interesting is the first group "worked for" their money, but the second didn't. Think about it.

3. Some lawmakers in Washington are proposing cutting benefits to our veterans. The military paychecks are getting smaller thanks to the Pentagon, and our army is being cut to a level lower than pre-WWII. Yet, we are not stopping the payments to illegal aliens.
Blog Author's Comments - I would have to say the Democrats, Barack Obama and the liberal media are primarily responsible for the above.

ACLU To Challenge Welfare Drug Testing Law

ACLU Plans Lawsuit Over Welfare Drug Tests

Miami News - The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida plans to challenge the state's law requiring new welfare recipients to pass a drug test.

An ACLU spokesman told The Associated Press Wednesday the lawsuit is being filed on behalf of a 35-year-old Orlando man, Luis Lebron.

The spokesman says Florida's drug testing law is unconstitutional, saying it violates the Fourth Amendment's search and seizure protections.

No further details of the lawsuit were immediately available.

Gov. Rick Scott signed the drug testing bill into law in July. Under the law, welfare applicants must pay for the drug tests. If they pass, they'll get reimbursed. If they fail, they can't get benefits for at least a year, and could face child abuse charges.

Blog author's comments - Is it fair that the worker who pays for the welfare via his taxes has to pass a drug test to be hired but, the person who gets the free money doesn’t?

This is not unlawful search and seizure. If you don’t want to take the test, don’t apply for welfare! It is the applicants themselves that are initiating the action. This is simply a condition for receiving taxpayer funds. Welfare programs in general need a complete overhaul.
