Tom Cotton: No, Jerry Nadler's Tactics Aren't Normal Procedure

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler is threatening to subpoena Attorney General Bill Barr. Barr threatened to back out of scheduled and voluntary testimony on Thursday after Nadler changed the ground rules for the hearing. Nadler wants Committee attorneys, in addition to lawmakers, to ask questions about the Mueller report. He argues this is standard practice and that Barr should comply.

But according to Republican Senator Tom Cotton, who used to be in the House, Nadler's demands for this format style are unusual.

"Typically the way we handle these hearings, for better or worse, on Capitol Hill is that the senators and the representatives on both sides alternate for five to seven minutes apiece. And you don’t have the staff questioning a witness. Now that has been done in certain extraordinary occasions in our lifetimes, but that is usually something negotiated with the witness," Cotton told Salem Radio Network host Hugh Hewitt Tuesday morning. "So the Attorney General of the United States is well within past practice here of saying that he is willing to come and spend two to three hours with the traditional format, but he’s not going to subject himself to a daylong interrogation by staffers who are not elected by the American people to represent them in Washington."

"This is not just a matter for the Judiciary Committee and the Attorney General. Cabinet members are always busy. They always need to come up for oversight on a periodic basis, but it’s always subject to negotiations around their schedule and their availability in these formats," he continued. "I’ll just say this to Chairman Nadler and the Democrats. If they are incapable of going toe to toe with Bill Barr, if they have put people on the Judiciary Committee who are not skilled questioners and talented attorneys, that’s a you problem. Why should Bill Barr accommodate their failures and the fact that they don’t have talented lawyers on the committee who can go toe to toe with a talented lawyer like Bill Barr? Why should he bend over backwards to accommodate them? They should be able to do the basic job that their voters elected them to do, which is to conduct oversight of the executive branch."

Blog Author's Input: The witch hunt/fishing expedition against President Trump continues. The petty democrat's hatred and bitterness continues to be on full display. I have to think most Americans want Democrat obstructionism to end. President Trump nor Attorney General Barr should not give anything more to these out of control Democrats, because there is nothing that will satisfy them.

Nadler is a despicable character, as he continues to show what a complete fool he is. The democrats simply do not want the truth, and refuse to believe they cannot find something, anything, they can use to begin impeachment proceedings against the President. I do hope the majority of voters see what has and is happening and keep that in mind when they vote in 2020.

Harris Joins Warren: Let's Impeach
Trump Rather Than Run Against Him

Oh, the irony. And for Nancy Pelosi, oh the headache. As leading Democrats and even a lot of non-entity Democrats prepare to start debating over who gets to run against Donald Trump in 2020, some of them have begun arguing to remove Trump without an election at all. Sen. Kamala Harris told a CNN town hall that Congress should start impeachment proceedings against Trump based on obstruction of justice:

Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., came out in favor of beginning the impeachment process against President Donald Trump on Monday night, joining Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., as major 2020 candidates who’ve called for impeachment proceedings after the release of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.

During a CNN town hall, Harris said she believes “Congress should take the steps toward impeachment.” But, adding that she’s “also a realist,” Harris said it was highly unlikely that Senate Republicans would, if the House does vote to impeach Trump, vote to remove him from office.
So...what would be the point? Other than sheer vindictiveness, which is exactly how it will be perceived. The 1998 Bill Clinton precedent here is instructive. Clinton lied under oath in that case, which was a much clearer crime than anything described in Robert Mueller’s Volume II on obstruction of justice, and the GOP-controlled House impeached him for it. However, there was no real consensus for removal and a great deal of concern that the underlying investigation that produced the perjury was a partisan hit job.

Of course, Democrats still seem slow on learning all the lessons from 1998. Harris joins Elizabeth Warren in calling for impeachment, albeit a few days late. Warren tweeted out her demand for House action on Friday, and then followed up in the CNN town hall to double down, for much too long: (Once this woman starts she continues to talk, she will not shut the hell up.)

Both candidates and a number of Democrats in Congress claim that impeachment is necessary to “protect democracy.” That argument would have worked if Robert Mueller found any evidence that Trump corrupted democracy by working with the Russians in the 2016 election. Not only did Mueller not find any evidence of that, the impact of Russian interference in the election was minimal, if even that, and it had nothing to do with Trump.

Blog Author's Input: I don't believe either Harris or Warren are perceived to be serious Democratic candidates. According to the very early polls, Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders are as of this moment, the only two legitimate candidates and what have they said? Socialist Bernie wants convicted murderers to be able to vote and Biden still has not officially entered the race. If he does, he could be dodging questions about his unwanted touching of women and children. Also, what did he know concerning Obama and his part in an attempt to throw the 2016 election to Clinton.

Even if the House did start impeachment proceedings, what is their basis for it? There is none, it cannot be because they do not like Trump. This is simply the democrats attempting to continue where Mueller stopped. This is going nowhere. The Democrats, many years ago, had some presidential candidates who were reasonably intelligent. They were deranged or unstable and unpatriotic, but at least they were somewhat coherent. This current Democrat presidential field is the worst I have ever seen. The debates between Harris and O'Rourke along with Gillibrand and 'Spartacus' Booker should be amusing to watch.

Mark Levin Points Out Highly
Political Intention Of Mueller (Volume II)

Mark Levin went on a tear Friday, noting the second part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Trump-Russia collusion is “crap” and simply an “op-ed” on the former FBI director’s thoughts about obstruction of justice.

Levin is right… Volume I was complete nonsense, there never was any Russia collusion-conspiracy. Volume II, “Obstruction”, was always the purpose of Mueller, Weissmann and Rosenstein.

Don’t get lulled into thinking this thing is over; it is not. The Democrats don’t want people to notice the long-planned and coordinated Pelosi launch platform. The collective “left” want to run the impeachment hearing through the media, not the actual House of Representatives. Then they want the “impeachment vote” to take place at the polls in 2020. This is a plan that is still rolling out.

(Via: TLR )
Blog Author's Input: I would not be surprised if Volume II was written by angry, pro-Hillary attorney, Andrew Weissman, while consulting with Pelosi and other democrat leaders, along with input from Rosenstein. Their objective being laying the groundwork for impeachment. Weissman was the lead prosecutor and this is probably his work product. Mueller is a manager – but the work was, in my opinion, done by Weissman. This fits right in with Pelosi’s recent statement. “I don’t trust AG Barr, I trust Mueller.”

The media and Democrats continue attacking Barr’s character, calling him a protector of Trump and a liar. That he is “covering up” for the President. Let’s hope all these insane attacks on the Attorney General propels him to go after the coup plotters.

If Mueller testifies before Congress, the President should declassify relevant documents, one week before it happens. Such as FISA abuse, precedent of investigation and voluminous conflict of interest can be authoritatively shown in public.

All of this is very far from over and the President and his people should be on offense. There is not that much time prior to the election of 2020, and the democrats and media's goal is to do whatever it takes to defeat Trump, and put the country back on the road that was being constructed by Obama. No one should want to travel there.

Alan Dershowitz Discusses The
Conniving Political Duplicity Of Team Mueller

Alan Dershowitz is exactly correct on the point; but he’s incorrect on the Mueller team’s motive.

Team Mueller didn’t punt the Obstruction issue to the Attorney General because Mueller’s a coward...Team Mueller punted the Obstruction issue because they specifically wanted to create room for The House to work an impeachment angle. It was a political decision.
