MLB Reporter Mocked After Giving ‘History
Lesson’ on Why ‘Tomahawk Chop’ Is Racist

ESPN’s Major League Baseball reporter Jeff Passan took to Twitter on Friday to make a case for stopping the “Tomahawk Chop” practice long performed by Braves fans by citing the “truly racist” American policies of the early 20th century.

It wasn’t really received all that well. Passan led off by explicitly addressing those with “deeply ingrained” opinions who find the tomahawk chop issue “disingenuous” and to make them understand the “mistreatment of indigenous people in Georgia.”

Passan then delved into the specific origin of the Braves’ nickname. In the early 1830s, the Muscogee (Creek) tribe was removed from land it owned in Georgia by the U.S. government. In 1838, the Cherokee tribe was forced by the government on a 1,200-mile march from Georgia. Thousands of people died. It's called the Trail of Tears with good reason.

Today, there are zero federally recognized tribes in Georgia. Zero. A truly racist American policy eradicated them. Remember, the Braves aren’t called the Braves to honor history. They got that nickname when they were in Boston as an homage to the Tammany Hall political machine.

Passan followed with a tweet claiming that his “history lesson” was not about being “woke.” This is not about being woke. It’s about acknowledging that an atrocity happened here, about owning a dark part of our past, and saying maybe, just maybe, not engaging in something that’s wildly ahistorical because it feels good, and for no other reason, is the right thing to do.

Jeff Passan, merely saying something is not woke does not make it not woke. A fact hammered home by many Twitter users who blasted Passan for being woke. More nonsense from ESPN. It doesn’t sound like the “Chop” is going anywhere anytime soon. The woke now don't believe they're woke, called woke denial. The leftist mental illness thing.

The Chop is not racist, the writer Passan is and he should not be in a position writing about sports at all. “You know what woke means? It means you’re a loser. Everything woke turns to $hit. Okay, it’s true. It’s true. Look at what’s happening!” -- President Donald J. Trump. Woke people, keep making fun of them, their derangement gets more and more apparent.

Chicago Cubs Ban Fan For Making 'OK' Hand Gesture...

As you may know, hysterical liberals think that when white people make an “OK” hand gesture they are signally their support for white supremacy. This is a complete crock of shit cooked up by leftists who have nothing better to do with their time, but they’ve apparently got it to stick. The Chicago Cubs have banned a fan from their stadium for life because he was seen on camera making something like the “OK” sign. I guess he can still go see the White Sox play, which is better because of their “white supremacist” name anyways.

During an NBC broadcast of a Cubs game, a fan was scene flashing this hand sign behind broadcaster Doug Glanville who is black. *gasp* I’m sure you can see where this going.

CBS Chicago reports that Cubs president of business operations Crane Kenney was outraged at this blatant display of “okayism” and launched and investigation:

“An individual seated behind Mr. Glanville used what appears to be an offensive hand gesture that is associated with racism. Such ignorant and repulsive behavior is not tolerated at Wrigley Field. We are reviewing the incident thoroughly because no one should be subjected to this type of offensive behavior,” said Kenney.

“We’re actively trying to find out the circumstances of how this person got into the seat and who they are, and that’s important. As we suggested in our statement last night, this type of behavior is reprehensible, it’s ignorant, and it’s not welcome at our ballpark,” added Cubs spokesman Julian Green.

And after an exhaustive search, they found the fan and brought the hammer down:
"The Cubs have identified the fan who apparently flashed a racist hand gesture on TV during Tuesday nights game against the Marlins, and the team has banned him from the park.

At a news conference on Wednesday, Cubs boss Theo Epstein said the team was able determine the fan’s name and said he will be told that he is never welcome inside Wrigley Field again."
Maybe the first thing you noticed about this particular gesture is that it is more of an upside down “OK” hand gesture, which is even less of a symbol associated with racism. If an upside-down cross is associated with the anti-Christ, shouldn’t an upside OK sign be associated with anti-racism? Maybe I’m trying to make too much sense out something that defies reason.

The deal with the “OK” hand gesture is that some idiots on the Interwebz invented out of thin air that is representative of white power. The 3 fingers extending upwards make a “W” while the index finger joined with the thumb, along with the wrist, make a “P.” Get it? “WP” stands for white power. Even the ADL has said this is complete bullshit and isn’t a real thing, but liberals have picked up on it and made into a “fact.”

If you need proof of the success of this liberal disinformation campaign, the news proclaimed, “The gesture is commonly used by white supremacists” and blurred out the hand gesture because it was too shocking to broadcast.

Getting back to the upside down “OK” that got this fan banned for life, I think there’s actually a different meaning. His three fingers were pointing down making an “M” while his index finger, thumb, and wrist made a “B.” “MB” could very easily stand for the Milwaukee Brewers, which would explain why the Cubs kicked this dude out. Chicago hates the entire state of Wisconsin.

This is all very dumb, but the Cubs are damn serious about cracking down on any public displays of hand gestures:
"The Cubs said any fan who does something like this during a game will be removed and permanently banned from Wrigley Field."
That means no “OK” signs, thumbs ups, peace signs, devil horns, or shockers. Middle fingers are okay as long as they are directed at the opposing team, especially if they are from Wisconsin.

Blog Author's Input: Okay, here is the story - the Cubs fan was banned for life from Wrigley Field and Cubs games because of flashing a "White Power" sign behind a black reporter.

The team president Theo Epstein said, "We've made clear how egregious and unacceptable," Epstein said. "That behavior has no place for it in our society, in baseball, certainly no place for it at Wrigley Field. The person responsible for that gesture will never be welcomed back at Wrigley Field. I think its important to have a strong response to send a message that this is a place of inclusion."

NBC Sports Chicago reporter Doug Glanville, who is Black, was on the air during the game when a fan made the "hand gesture", a supposedly silent symbol for "white power." Many on Twitter noticed and expressed their shock.

A photo shows the fan, who was in direct view of TV cameras, appearing to hold a thumb and index finger into an O shape, with the other fingers extended. The gesture is commonly known as the "OK" sign, but has been associated with white supremacists recently. Twitter users accused the fan of making a "white power" symbol."

I have to wonder if the Cubs management would ban all the white fans at the game, if they all showed the sign in unison, at perhaps the 7th inning stretch. Will they ban black folks should they do the Black Power salute? I am not seeking an answer to that question because I already know that would never happen.

The leftist accusers, in their twisted minds, do believe they are more compassionate and intelligent than the rest of us. Especially the main stream media, who much of the time will take anything they can use to create and invent these false narratives.

Sports Media Throws Cold Water On Cleveland
Indians' Winning Streak Because Of 'Racist Logo'

USA Today -- The Cleveland Indians have been having quite a season. Yet, despite winning an amazing 19 games in a row, the sports media cannot help themselves, from ruining all the fun by bringing Chief Wahoo, the team’s 70-year-old “racist” logo.

After toppling the Los Angeles Dodgers for best record, the Indians have realized an 19-game winning streak which is only one game away from the 20-game record set by the Oakland A’s in 2002. The Tribe just might have the opportunity to hit that magic 21, too, as they next face the Detroit Tigers.[...]

The Tigers are already mathematically eliminated from division contention, so they have not been having the best season, to put it mildly.

Needless to say, Indians fans and commentators have been on Cloud Nine for the last few months.

However, even as the excitement builds to a fever pitch, leave it to the liberal sports media to find a way to throw cold water on the fun.

Ted Berg of USA Today felt compelled to jump to his keyboard to proclaim the Cleveland Indians’ winning streak essentially null and void because the team still has its cartoon Indian, Chief Wahoo, as a mascot.

In a Sept. 11 editorial, Berg exclaims, “Everything about the red-hot Cleveland Indians is awesome except their very racist logo.”

Despite Cleveland having “the best record in the Majors,” and asking readers, “How fun is this team,” Berg is sour because of Chief Wahoo.

“It’s all extremely dope,” Berg says, trying and failing to sound cool. He continues, “…and watching the Indians right now would be fully and exhaustively dope were it not for the nagging little issue of the extremely racist logo they insist on wearing on their caps on most games: Chief Wahoo.”

Berg recounts that the team has made a few moves to eventually eliminate the long-standing logo in favor of the new block “C” logo, but he clearly feels the team isn’t moving fast enough. Berg even finds it “alarming” that the team has worn Chief Wahoo for most of its televised games and during the pre-season.

Berg concludes, admitting that no one wears Chief Wahoo gear with hatred, but he still feels morally superior to those who like their team’s decades old mascot:
Yes, the Indians have worn Wahoo for a while now, and yes, if you grew up in Cleveland you may have done so while wearing Wahoo gear without a shred of hatred in your heart toward anybody. But clinging stubbornly to its presence on caps and uniforms, as the Indians have, or trying to justify it as anything other than a grim relic of intolerance means taking a stand on the wrong side of history. We move forward.

Blog Author's Comments: And after Chief Wahoo is done away with, racism and intolerance will never be problems ever again? The left attempts to kill everything it touches that it does not like or agree with. What is racist about saying Indians are winners? Ted Berg of USA Today could probably give us many reasons because he is a liberal, and isn't everyone that writes for that paper liberal? A sure sign of a cretin is when you meet someone that fights a fight that isn't their own and the people that potentially could have a reason to fight it, aren't fighting. American Indians, which are not actually "native Americans" by the way, apparently don't care about this. They have their lives to live and other things to think and worry about.

Berg cries and whines too much about something he should not be writing about. Unless one has been directly impacted in their years of life by outrageous forms of racism, one should not receive any sympathy. You'll receive no sympathy here for what happened three or four generations ago, move on. Ted Berg is simply looking to stir the pot of racism, while throwing a damper on a sports event which makes some people feel good, as if we need more leftists doing the stirring.
