Politico -- Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has “no doubt” that sexism played a role in Democrat Hillary Clinton’s surprise loss in last year’s presidential election, but she remains encouraged by the progress women have made entering worlds once dominated by men.
"I have no doubt that it did,” Ginsburg said when asked by PBS and CBS host Charlie Rose if sexism had affected the 2016 race. The Supreme Court justice’s interview aired Tuesday night on Rose’s PBS interview show and again Wednesday on “CBS This Morning.”
Ginsburg told Rose that “we came pretty close” to electing a female president last year and that such progress is a “hopeful sign.”
"The more women out there doing things … women come in all sizes and shapes," Ginsburg said. "To see the entrance of women into places where they were not there before is a hopeful sign."
The Supreme Court justice, among the court’s reliably liberal members, was critical of President Donald Trump during the 2016 campaign, calling him a “faker” and telling an interviewer that “I don't even want to contemplate” the idea of him being elected. She later walked back those statements, calling them “ill-advised.”
Blog Author's Comments: Ruth Bader Ginsburg was at least truthful that 'sexism' played a role in the presidential election. Many women voted for Hillary just because she said, vote for me if you are a woman. This was extreme raw sexism. And anything having to do with sex when talking about Hillary Clinton or Ginsburg makes me want to vomit, preceded by a long full body shiver.
The men who voted against Clinton are what Ginsburg was referring to, but many women and men knew what Clinton was, her corruption and record in politics, and the many things she is guilty of, but has not faced any discipline because of what she had done. Ginsburg by her comments about Trump prior to the election has arguably 'disqualified' herself from any Federal matter; any matter involving the office of the Attorney General of the United States, any matter involving Federal funds and so on.
Lifetime appointments were designed to keep Supreme Court Justices from being influenced politically so they could just apply the Constitution without pressure from politics. The trouble is when liberals get on the court they use it as a political bias tool to subvert the Constitution. Ginsburg was a women's activist before and after she was appointed.
If Clinton would have won the election, and thinking about that gives me a headache, Ginsburg would have soon retired so that Clinton could have placed two far left justices on the high court and the country may have been doomed forever. Now Ginsburg will attempt to remain on the Supreme Court until at least 2020 if not longer.
