Do Any More Damage to the Prosecution's Case'
CNS News- Rep. Louis Gohmert (R.-Texas), a former prosecutor and judge and a current member of the House Judiciary Committee, is offering some advice to Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, who has gained national attention since Saturday for his suggestions that radio and television talk shows were somehow responsible for the shooting attack in Tucson that took the lives of 6 people and wounded 14 others, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.
At the Capitol on Wednesday, Gohmert told CNSNews.com, “As far as advice for the sheriff, you know, he’s an elected official. He’s an American. He’s not prohibited by law from making the ridiculous statements that he has that do more to help the defendant than they do anyone else, including the victims. And so, I know as a former prosecutor, my advice to the sheriff would be to shut up before you do any more damage to the prosecution’s case.”
“Quit helping the defendant, sheriff,” Gohmert said. “But if he wants to help the defendant, he’s elected by the local people, and he’s free to help the defendant with their defense, if that’s what he chooses to do. And then the people can decide in the next election if that’s the kind of sheriff they want.”- Continue reading > >
Blog author's comments - My opinion - sheriff Dupnik is doing a cover up. I think he knew that Jared Loughner was quite possibly a bomb that could go off at any time, but he did nothing to try to stop it.
He has now provided Loughner's defense team something they will bring to court. Sheriff Dupnik could be a witness for the defense. When his term as Sheriff is over he will be gone.
The shooting was a lone act by an insane individual. The left-wing politicians and journalists will do and say anything for their own gain.
