Blog Author's Comments: Some wishful thinking...what if what Barr said is disinformation to lull the bad actors into a sense of calm before the storm comes? He doesn't expect it based on the "information he has presently", those are the key words. So will the moral of the story be, going after your opponent when you lose an election is a safe crime without any legal consequences?
Even if he plans criminal charges later... this was a disgraceful announcement. The Democrats and whomever wants to get involved...this action will make this the norm now and be ready for this year after year for the rest of our lives. The DOJ still does not want to roll up their sleeves and do the work necessary to pursue truth and accountability. If Obama and Biden get away with what happened to a duly elected president, then justice is dead. Obama should not be above the law, but he is. If it was the other way around our president would already be in prison.
As much as I would like to see Obama and Biden held legally accountable in the coup attempt of President Trump, it isn't practical to expect that there is a direct significant line between all the participants, and this is probably exactly what Obama wanted. What I do expect is an investigation that reveals in legal terms, the responsibility of Comey and company in the plot to depose President Trump one way or another, and charges of some kind to be brought against him and his players.
