NFL Reverses Course, Will Allow National Anthem Protests...

The mob wins again….

The National Football League has backed down in the face of intense SJW pressure and will not be banning protests during the national anthem.

In an embarrassing shift, the NFL has “frozen” the half-assed ban on sideline kneelers after the player’s union filed a grievance last week.

The league was also forced to blink when Tennessee Titans star Jurrell Casey told CNN that he would ignore the new rule and take a knee anyway.

Then there was the uproar on Thursday when a leaked document by an NFL team suggested that kneelers could face suspension leading to a social media eruption.

Shortly thereafter, the announcement was made that the NFL backed down.

With the Miami Dolphins facing backlash after submitting required paperwork to the NFL that included potential disciplinary measures for player protests during the national anthem, the league has decided to hit pause on its new policy, sources told ESPN.

The league and the NFL Players Association issued a joint statement Thursday that said “no new rules relating to the anthem will be issued or enforced for the next several weeks” while both sides continue to hold discussions to figure out how to move forward.

The NFL and NFLPA, through recent discussions, have been working on a resolution to the anthem issue,” the joint statement said. “In order to allow this constructive dialogue to continue, we have come to a standstill agreement on the NFLPA’s grievance and on the NFL’s anthem policy.
You have to hand it to Commissioner Roger Goodell and his $40 million a year contract, he has really made a hot mess out of this one.

For those who may have been on the fence about tuning in again this year after the new rule, you may want to reconsider.

Blog Author's Comments: The NFL has decided to walk back its decision to have players either stand for the National Anthem or stay in the locker room. This may have been about awareness at one point but it has not been so for quite a while. It is about utter disrespect, and contempt, for our flag, our anthem, our veterans, and most of all for those who gave their lives and paid the ultimate price.

These protestors are athletics and entertainers, but they want to take center stage, and let their egos be known. If they really cared about brutality to others they should protest what has and is happening with their own people in neighborhoods across America. That the majority of shootings are black on black, that the majority of women who are single parent families are again black.

The NFL players are extremely well paid and highly trained people, but they are still employees of their respective teams and members of the National Football League. I say do not spit in the face of those who have risked all, and gave all for this country. Especially when they say that they and others within the black communities are not respected. Perhaps they need to do something to earn the respect they feel they and others should have. There are other ways for them to help those who they believe are victims of an injustice.

They do not care that what they are doing is turning away many of the people who are paying their salaries. And the owners are afraid to take a stand because they do not want to be accused of being racists. Bottom line, the players are employees and they work for their owners who pay them.
