Breitbart -- According to the Chicago Tribune, 14 people were shot in a 15 hour window this week. Six people were killed, including a pregnant woman and a grandmother and eight others were injured, including a two-year-old child and an 11-month old baby.
The first of those shootings occurred Monday evening when a family on their way back from an outing was gunned down in the Back of the Yards, leaving a pregnant mother and grandmother dead and three others — including an 11-month-old boy — wounded, police said.
The second multiple shooting occurred about five hours later when two men and the mother of a 4-year-old were killed and two other people were wounded near a playground in the Fuller Park neighborhood on the South Side, according to police. A sister said the woman was killed coming to the aid of a relative.
The burst of violence follows two straight weekends when more than 50 people were shot in Chicago. That’s the first time that has happened on back-to-back weekends over the four years the Tribune has been tracking shootings. In August, more than 40 were shot on four consecutive weekends.
A Tribune analysis shows that 2,300 people have been shot in Chicago so far this year -- 400 more than during the same time period last year. Homicides are up by 21 percent.
The shootings are a combination of drive-by shootings and accidental shootings.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel said "enough is enough" and blamed gang-bangers for the violence and called for harsher penalties for gun-related crimes.
"You can say this happened in the neighborhood of the Back of the Yards, but everybody (who) woke up this morning, or heard it last night, felt a pain of anguish, and it’s time that our criminal justice system and the laws as it relates to access to guns and the penalties for using 'em reflect the values of the people of the city of Chicago" said the Mayor.
Blog Author's Comments -- Until the Mayor, Rahm Emanuel, deals with the real underlying issues of what and who is causing the crime in Chicago, this will continue. We continue to hear the chant 'Black Lives Matter', if the blacks believe that why are so many blacks killing blacks? When will the politicians realize that the problem is not the laws, but the people, and it will only get worse, not only in Chicago but in most medium to large cities.

Truth Revolt -- As Pope Francis lectured Congress Thursday on the merits of showing compassion to immigrants, The Washington Times reminded just how tight the immigration policy of the Vatican is.
"The Vatican, for its part, welcomes millions of visitors a year — but allows only a very select few, who meet strict criteria, to be admitted as residents or citizens," the Times reports.
There are 800 residents at the Vatican, but only 450 are actual citizens, and most of them are either church cardinals, diplomats, or those employed by the Swiss Guard. Some of these that are employed have their spouses and children living there as well, but as the report notes, there are very few women citizens within the rest of the celibate population.
From the Times:
The strict policy has left the Vatican open to criticism in the past, including from right-wing political leaders in Italy who want tighter immigration controls in their country and have rebuffed the papacy’s calls for leniency by asking how many refugees live in the enclave.
But it is indicated that Francis is trying to quiet those attacks by announcing that the Vatican will be taking in "a couple of refugee families" from Syria.
Blog Author's Comments -- I realize that within the walls which surround the Vatican there is very little room for expansion and building to house immigrants. But the Pope is clearly a leftist. He would do very well within the Obama administration; they both want the same thing with regard to immigration of illegals and the environment in the United States.
The Pope is from Argentina which is a totally Socialist country and has been for decades. The Pope is a Socialist. Why in the world is anyone giving such weight to the Pope's opinions concerning immigration (or the environment)? It's not like any country is forced to follow them, is it?
Exactly how is his opinion on immigration going to actually affect American policy? Obama likes to hear the Pope give speeches that echo what he wants for America. The Socialist in the White House along with his fellow Democrats have been ignoring the laws of this land long before this pope was even elected. The Pope should consider the negative consequences counties face by letting in refugees. He should be more of a religious leader, not a political activist.

Obama's Labor Day Speech: "The GOP's mindset has been wrecking the economy for a long, long time."
[Republicans] espouse out of date, out of touch policies. They are dead wrong for 21st century America.

When I turned over my 55,000 pages I did so to help the State Department they had asked all the former secretaries to please hand over any information because they were having some challenges with record keeping.
The Republicans have had a plan for years to strip away women's rights to make choices over our own bodies.
I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. There is no classified material.
Let's have an investigation of those people who are trying to ensnare Planned Parenthood in a controversy that doesn't exist.

Breitbart -- Over the past weekend Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA) waved the white flag on the gun control legislation he and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) pushed but failed to secure in April 2013 and tried to push again and again between then and now.
The gun control push consisted of a bill to expand current background checks beyond retail sales, so as to include private sales and gun shows too. The gun rights group Pennsylvanians for Self Protection had planned a protest outside of Toomey’s Pennsylvania offices over the weekend only to be informed that there was no need because the legislation will “not be re-introduced.”
According to Politics PA, after receiving the message from Pat Toomey’s offices Pennsylvanians for Personal Protection told their members, “We will update you if the need arises for a political demonstration, but now it seems unnecessary.” The assurances that the background check push is over come after two years of watching Senator Manchin continue to look for an opening in which to reignite the gun control push, as well as Manchin’s indications that Toomey would be on board again should such an opportunity arise.
A recent CNN poll makes clear the nation’s infatuation with expanding background checks to more types of gun sales is waning. Released on September 14, the poll shows that 56 percent of registered voters lack confidence that more gun control would keep guns out of the hands of the mentally ill, and 58 percent lacked confidence that it would keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Yet these are two of the most common promises proponents of expanded background checks have made over the past two and a half years.
In addition to that, the CNN poll shows that up-and-coming voters—those under the age of 50—are not so sure more gun laws are needed, period. For example, “51 percent [of seniors] say it’s too easy to get a gun, while only 37 percent of those under age 50 think the same.”
Maybe Toomey saw these figures? Maybe he has known that many of the polls showing support for gun control have been a bit inflated all along? Either way, the white flag has been waved and Second Amendment supporters are breathing a sigh of relief for now.
It is interesting to note that one of Toomey’s potential Democrat challengers—Katie McGinty—does not like the position he has taken and accuses him playing both sides by supporting gun control for a time then abandoning it. McGinty said, “Sen. Toomey needs to come clean and explain why he promised a prominent anti-gun safety group that he wouldn’t re-introduce legislation that could save lives.”
Blog Author's Comments -- For once, the GOP white flag is actually a good thing. Hopefully Toomey's voters will remember what he tried to do. He is one of many GOP senators and congress members who should be gone the next time they are up for reelection. New gun control laws are one issue that should not be attempted because it will only hurt the law abiding gun owner. If someone can come up with a way to remove the guns from the criminals I will listen to them.
As the column mentions, perhaps Toomey saw the many polls showing support for gun control have been a bit inflated and at least for now says he won't push the issue anymore. Most politicians will do and say anything to get reelected. They don't want to give up the power and money. This is why so many people are disgusted with the people in office. There are only a handful that I have any respect for.

In a Wednesday letter obtained by POLITICO, Bryan Pagliano’s lawyer Mark MacDougall told Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Senate Homeland Security Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) that he would give no such preliminary overview, known in legal terms as a proffer. Both chairmen hoped to get a better sense of what Pagliano knew about Clinton’s homebrewed server — which he set up in 2009 before she headed to the State Department.
MacDougall tells Politico that there are concerns that if he gave a proffer to lawmakers it would be deemed as his client waiving his rights:
“Members of congressional committees and their lawyers have lately taken an expansive view of what constitutes a waiver by an individual citizen of his or her right under the Fifth Amendment,” he wrote. “Any ‘proffer session’ or other disclosure by Mr. Pagliano — or his lawyers acting on his behalf — of the contents of his possible testimony creates the very practical risk that our client will later be said to have waived his constitutional protections.”
It is expected that Pagliano will invoke his fifth amendment rights when he appears before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.
Blog Author's Comments -- "Former Hillary Clinton IT staffer Brian Pagliano, who set up and ran Clinton's email server - central to concerns over security and the deletion of emails - says he won't give congressional committees even a hint of what he knows without immunity."
Give him the immunity he requests and see what he has to say. Once he has immunity, however, he will also need personal protection for an unlimited number of years. The Clintons don't like to be taken down. If he comes forth with the truth about her emails and server it could be the end of Hillary's political career and she should be facing a criminal investigation.

Danny Martins, a senior at Hofstra University who says he’s a member of the school’s Libertarian Club, was charged with disorderly conduct in June 2014 after hanging up the message and the American flag from a pedestrian walkway in Jericho.
But a judge eventually tossed all charges against the libertarian activist after citing his right to free speech.
Nassau County prosecutors initially argued that the activity posed a safety hazard.
Martins, who routinely hung political messages from overpasses beginning in 2013, filed suit against the Nassau department as well as individual officers involved in his arrest.
Blog Author's Comments -- Now if Danny Martins' sign had said: ‘We Love Obama’ or ‘Illegals Welcome’ the cops would not have blinked. They let him hang posters since 2013. Well, I would say that the prosecutor's claim that this poster was a safety hazard was invalid given that the precedent of letting him hang posters on numerous previous occasions was established already. He's won at this same free speech issue before, so to arrest him knowing that the charges are going to be tossed out is pure intimidation and it's not from the arresting cops, it's coming from the Obama supporters higher up.

I never met one Veteran Who enlisted to fight for Socialism!
If Muslims can pray on Madison Avenue, and the subway areas in Toronto, why are Christians banned from praying in public and from erecting religious displays on their holy days?
What happened to our National Day of Prayer?
Muslims are allowed to block off Madison Ave., in N.Y.C., and pray in the middle of the street! And, it's a monthly ritual!
Tell me, again, whose country is this? Ours or the Muslims?
It is said that 86% of Americans & Canadians believe in God.
Therefore, I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in the U.S. having 'In God We Trust' on their money, and having 'God' in their Pledge of Allegiance, or the Lord's prayer said in our schools or public meetings.
I believe it's time we stand up for what we believe!
Blog Author's Comments -- “I pledge allegiance to the flag, of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.”
The Pledge of Allegiance, which lately seems to cause so much consternation among liberals, had a surprisingly liberal — in fact, socialist — beginning. It was Francis Bellamy, a Baptist minister and a leading Christian socialist who penned the original pledge in 1892 to express his outrage at the nation’s widening economic divide. Bellamy, believed that unbridled capitalism, materialism and individualism betrayed America’s promise. He hoped the Pledge of Allegiance would promote a different moral vision to counter the rampant greed he thought was undermining the nation.
It is also past time to stop the Muslims from gaining more power in the United States, the way they have and are in so many other countries. This is the people's country and not Obama's who, if he is not a Muslim is certainly a Muslim sympathizer.

Graham was explaining how his rival has managed to dominate the Republican presidential race, polling as high as 35 percent depending on the survey. Graham said the support still represented a minority of the GOP.
“Twenty-five percent of our party that probably thinks Obama was born in Kenya or wants to believe that. There’s 25 percent of our party wants him to be a Muslim because they hate him so much," Graham said. "So, there’s a dark side of politics that Mr. Trump is appealing to."
Graham initially used the interview to defend his dismal poll numbers in his home state, South Carolina, but pivoted into a more specific attack on the GOP frontrunner. He said a Trump nomination would "kill" the GOP.
"The leader of our party has come up with a deportation plan that is Joseph McCarthy-like and he is saying things about Megyn Kelly and other women that are digging a big hole. And the chairman of our party said Trump was a net positive. Let me tell you, I think he's hurting our party."
He also said Trump's plan to get rid of birthright citizenship was constitutionally unsound.
"He's shallow. He's ill-prepared to be commander in chief," Graham said. "He doesn't know what he's talking about in terms of how our laws work. He says the worst things possible about immigrants and women. And he's a complete idiot about Mideast policy."
Trump's strategy to defeat the Islamic State terrorist group, he said, was worse than President Obama's, a strategy which Graham has repeatedly voiced discontent.
Graham used some of his Southern charm to end the interview: "Come to South Carolina. I'll beat his brains out."
Blog Author's Comments -- I don't believe that Donald Trump will receive the nomination for the Republican Party. Lindsey Graham has a long list of things he thinks Trump's supporters believe. Trump is doing well now because he is saying the things many voters want to hear. Graham doesn't have much to say about himself that will bring these voters to his camp. Would the dark side of the GOP be the people that can think for themselves and will not be told how to vote?
Graham, I do know that Obama does not care for the USA, at least not as founded. If Obama is not a Muslim he certainly is a Muslim sympathizer. I also know that the establishment RINO's, like you, McCain, McConnell, Boehner, and too many others to mention are the ones that are destroying the Republican Party.
