Just five years in, the Affordable Care Act has already helped improve the quality of health care across the board." "It's making health care coverage more affordable and effective for all of us. It's working better than many of us, including me, anticipated.
President Obama has made it very clear that we are going to prevent Iran from having that type of nuclear weapon that they -- they were going on the track to obtain.

If Iran's leaders can agree to a reasonable deal, it can lead to a better path - the path of greater opportunities for the Iranian people.

For any government employee, it is that government employee's responsibility to determine what's personal and what's work related. I went above and beyond what I was requested to do.
Clearly these findings and others included in the report demonstrate that although some community perception of Michael Brown's tragic death might not have been accurate, the widespread conditions that these perceptions were based upon and the climate that gave rise to them, were all too real. Some of those protesters were right.
America, for all that we've endured; for all the grit and hard work required to come back; for all the tasks that lie ahead, know this: The shadow of crisis has passed.
If we can make people understand that there are reasons for a bright future and the president has a plan to address what ails them, then that will be real progress.

We are now under intense threat from those who are misguided - from those who are trying to blame civil rights leaders rather than deal with an ugly spirit that all of us need to fight.
We have made enormous progress in race relations over the course of the past several decades.

Truth Revolt -- With all the media chatter about the findings in the Bowe Bergdahl investigation, author, columnist and Rush Limbaugh fill-in host Mark Steyn writes that there is no way President Obama and his staff could not have known the truth about Bergdahl last year.
When others objected, the White House dispatched the National Security Advisor, Susan Rice, to tell the American people that Bergdahl "served the United States with honor and distinction". She surely knew, as did the President, that that was a lie.
Given the background checks an ordinary law-abiding citizen requires these days merely to be permitted to be in the presence of the President, the White House must also have known that the man Obama embraced in the Rose Garden that day - Bergdahl's father - was a Taliban sympathizer.
Steyn cites extensively from his columns, written last June, including details of email exchanges between Bergdahl and his father. He also puts a fine point on what Obama's celebration of Bergdahl's release really means.
Obama didn't just trade five high-value Taliban leaders-cum-war criminals for one American deserter, but he chose to honor that deserter as an American hero. And, in so honoring him, dishonored all the comrades he deserted.
Blog Author's Comments - Obama had to have known the truth about Bergdahl. He had to know that Bergdahl was a deserter. For years his fellow soldiers were forced to stay silent about the disappearance and search for him. This should outrage every American veteran and active duty military member. The fact that Obama traded five terrorists for a deserter without alerting Congress before the prisoner swap occurred should outrage every American.
Obama has sat on his hands while ISIS took over the Middle East. He has squandered all gains from Iraq and Afghanistan. Bowe Bergdahl has finally been charged as a deserter, but I expect over time he will receive a full presidential pardon. And neither Obama nor anyone in his administration has mentioned the soldiers who were killed by the enemy while searching for this traitor.

Washington Times -- The Washington Redskins’ name is commercial speech and isn’t the kind of free expression protected by the First Amendment, the Obama administration told a federal court this week in defending a ruling that has stripped the football team of trademark protections.
The team’s name itself is not at stake, but if the trademark is canceled, the name becomes less valuable because the owners would struggle to enforce their trademark against anyone who wanted to use the name or Indian logo on their own merchandise.
In a filing Monday, the Justice Department defended the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board’s decision last year to strip the team of protections.
“Not only do trademarks function only minimally as a vehicle for expression, but trademark registration also involves the necessary participation of the government in approving that registration, which confers relaxed First Amendment review even when combined with the speech of a private party,” the Obama lawyers said.
Trademark law says disparaging marks cannot be granted protections, and the government argues that the name has become disparaging over the last century. The trademark board, in its 2-1 ruling, also cited polling suggesting a significant percentage of American Indians consider the name a slur.
Pro-Football Inc., the company that operates the team, argues a previous court ruling has already held the trademark wasn’t disparaging.
Blog Author's Comments - It really is too bad that Obama does not put as much effort into making America a better place as he does in tearing it down. Why is the Department of Justice involved in this? I have never seen an administration target businesses like Obama's, if the name and trademark offends you go watch tennis.
Since the trademark has been used by the Redskins for many decades why is it now offensive? The Middle East is in extremely bad shape, our borders are wide open, we have record debt, race relations are in shambles, our healthcare system is in trouble, and the Washington Redskins trademark is what Obama has his lawyers working on. There is no doubt in my mind that we have the worst president ever.

The NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament involves 68 teams playing in a single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. The 77th edition of the tournament began on March 17, 2015, and will conclude with the championship game on April 6 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Out of 333 eligible Division I teams, 68 participate in the tournament. Eighteen Division I teams were ineligible due to failing to meet APR (The Academic Progress Rate (APR) is a term-by-term measure of eligibility and retention for Division I student-athletes that was developed as an early indicator of eventual graduation rates.) requirements, self-imposed postseason bans, or reclassification from a lower division.
Of the 32 automatic bids, 31 were given to programs that won their conference tournaments. The Ivy League, does not hold a tournament, and awards its bid to the team with the best regular-season record. However, whenever two or more teams are tied for the conference title, league rules call for a one-game playoff between the top two teams (or a series of such playoffs if more than two teams are tied), which occurred in this year. The remaining 36 bids were granted on an "at-large" basis, which were extended by the NCAA Selection Committee to the teams it deemed to be the best 36 teams that did not receive automatic bids.
Eight teams—the four lowest-seeded automatic qualifiers and the four lowest-seeded at-large teams—will play in the first four games. The winners of these games advance to the round of 64.
The Selection Committee will also seed the entire field from 1 to 68.
Blog Author's Comments - March Madness is a fun time of year for basketball fans. Many people who don't follow basketball during the season will watch the tournament, especially if the college they graduated from or one which is near them is in the tournament. This year the University of Kentucky is the favorite to win the national championship since they went undefeated during the regular season. But, many higher ranked teams will lose to lower ranked teams which makes it interesting. March Madness for many folks and sports fans ranks right up there with the National Football League playoffs and the Major League baseball playoffs.

Blog Author's Comments - The cultural rot that's taking place in America is the result of an attack on Western Civilization. This has most certainly intensified in the United States since Barack Obama has been in office. We are on the precipice I think of real danger. These next two years, there are no impediments; there's nothing stopping Obama. And this will continue if Hillary Clinton becomes the president in 2016.

NY Post By Edward Klein -- It’s the vast left-wing conspiracy.
Obama senior adviser Valerie Jarrett leaked to the press details of Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail address during her time as secretary of state, sources tell me.
But she did so through people outside the administration, so the story couldn’t be traced to her or the White House.
In addition, at Jarrett’s behest, the State Department was ordered to launch a series of investigations into Hillary’s conduct at Foggy Bottom, including the use of her expense account, the disbursement of funds, her contact with foreign leaders and her possible collusion with the Clinton Foundation.
Six separate probes into Hillary’s performance have been going on at the State Department. I’m told that the e-mail scandal was timed to come out just as Hillary was on the verge of formally announcing that she was running for president — and that there’s more to come.
Members of Bill Clinton’s camp say the former president suspects the White House is the source of the leak and is furious.[...]
Then, according to this source, Bill added: “The Obamas are out to get us any way they can.”
The sabotage is part of an ongoing feud between the two Democrat powerhouses.
Last fall, during the run-up to the 2014 midterm elections, Jarrett was heard to complain bitterly that the Clintons were turning congressmen, senators, governors and grass-root party members against Obama by portraying him as an unpopular president who was an albatross around the neck of the party.
Jarrett was said to be livid that most Democrats running for election refused to be seen campaigning with the president. She blamed the Clintons for marginalizing the president and for trying to wrestle control of the Democratic Party away from Obama.
And she vowed payback.[...]
Relations have gotten even frostier in the past few months.
After the Democrats took a shellacking in the midterms, the White House scheduled a meeting with Hillary Clinton. When she showed up in the Oval Office, she was greeted by three people — the president, Jarrett and Michelle Obama.
With his wife and Jarrett looking on, Obama made it clear that he intended to stay neutral in the presidential primary process — a clear signal that he wouldn’t mind if someone challenged Hillary for the nomination.
“Obama and Valerie Jarrett will go to any lengths to prevent Hillary from becoming president,” a source close to the White House told me. “They believe that Hillary, like her husband, is left of center, not a true-blue liberal.”
If she gets into the White House, they believe she will compromise with the Republicans in Congress and undo Obama’s legacy.
Blog Author's Comments - "If she gets into the White House, they believe she will compromise with the Republicans in Congress and undo Obama’s legacy." If the GOP will get behind and back the right people for the presidential nomination Hilary Clinton can be defeated assuming she is the Democrats' nominee. And if the Republicans can win in 2016 and hold the Senate and House they can undo 'Obama's legacy'. I do not like Clinton, she is a serial liar like her husband, but if she had won in 2008 I don't think life in Washington would be as bad as it has been and will continue to be with Obama. When can we expect leaks about Obama's past from some of the Clinton's allies? I'm sure the Clintons have some ammunition if they decide to use it.
Obama wants his election to be the only 'historic' one. The first woman in the White House would give Hillary Clinton the same glorified attention he got and he couldn't stomach that. I believe Clinton will escape this email scandal just like she did with the Benghazi scandal while she was Secretary of State which was accomplished with the help of the liberal media.
I do think Hillary will continue the 'transformation of America' if she should become the next president. So, it is time for the Republicans to get to work with what needs to be done and win the election in 2016 and don't try it with Jeb Bush. I know it's still early but if I had to choose the people I want in the White House Scott Walker and Ted Cruz would be at the top of my list. One can always hope that the Republican Party has the intelligence to run someone who has a good chance of winning the presidency because if they lose in 2016, they may not ever win another one.

Blog Author's Comments - With roughly two years left in the Obama presidency there are still many items which he still wants to accomplish with his plan for the ‘fundamental transformation’ of America. One item that we can be sure is on his agenda is more gun control laws. Obama has lied about not doing anything which would infringe on our Second Amendment rights. I don’t believe anything he says.
He and his administration will do as much as they can and they do not care what the majority of the American people want. Only the National Rifle Association is fighting for the Second Amendment. Obama will use more executive orders and ignore our Constitution and Second Amendment. Most of us should know that more gun control laws will have little, if any, affect on the criminals. They don’t care how many new gun control laws are put in place. More laws will only hurt the law abiding gun owners.
Monday, March 9, 2015
The Blaze -- President Barack Obama launched a rhetorical assault on guns in one of the most gun friendly states in the nation while speaking at a town hall event in Columbia, South Carolina, Friday.
“As long as you can go in some neighborhoods and it is easier for you to buy a firearm than it is for you to buy a book, there are neighborhoods where it is easier for you to buy a handgun and clips than it is for you to buy a fresh vegetable, as long as that’s the case, we’re going to continue to see unnecessary violence,” Obama said in a response to a question at the town hall meeting at Benedict College.
Obama vented his frustration that the administration-backed proposal on expanding background checks in 2013 did not pass Congress. It died in the Democratically-controlled Senate. Obama invoked the Newtown, Connecticut school shooting where 20 children were murdered.
“I thought after what happened at Sandy Hook would make us think about it,” Obama said. “You would have thought that’s got to be enough of a motivator. But we couldn’t get it done.”
Obama said without legislation at the state and federal level, “it is difficult to reduce the availability of guns.” In the absence of a bill from Congress, he said, “We’ve tried to get as much done administratively.”
“Our homicide rates are so much higher than other industrialized countries,” he added, and blamed the accessibility to guns for that. Though he offered an obligatory statement about wanting to protecting the Second Amendment. “That’s important. That’s part of who we are.”
He further mocked some gun rights activists.
“In some places it goes the opposite direction. People say we should have firearms in kindergarten and have machine guns in bars. You think I’m exaggerating,” Obama said. “You look at these laws that come up. Despite those frustrations, I would say it is still within our control to reduce the incidence of handguns violence by making sure your young people understand that that is not a sign of strength.”
Blog Author's Comments - Once again Obama, the worst president in American history, is complaining about guns. Obama in reality is attacking legal gun owners for the actions of illegal gun using criminals. How is an expanded background check going to stop the purchase of illegally obtained firearms by the criminals who do the majority of robberies and shootings? And the majority of the time they are black on black shootings.
The best way for Obama to reduce gun sales would be for him to keep his mouth shut. Every time he talks about guns, gun and ammunition sales go through the roof. Anyone who has been paying attention the past six years knows that Obama is a liar with an evil agenda for our country. His expanded background check law did not pass the Democrat controlled Senate, and now with the Senate and House in control of the GOP for the rest of Obama's presidency more gun control laws should not make it through Congress.
But look at what a cave to Obama's executive order on illegal immigration both the Senate and House did. Neither McConnell nor Boehner should be in the positions they are. What good did the big midterm win do for the Republican Party? I have no doubt that Obama will use another executive order to pass more gun control laws.

Daily Caller -- South Carolina Republican Rep. Trey Gowdy has introduced an immigration bill to defund President Obama’s executive amnesty and expedite the removal of criminal aliens from U.S. soil.
Named after Michael Davis, Jr., a sheriff’s deputy in California who was killed in the line of duty last year by an illegal immigrant, Gowdy’s bill would also provide a work-around for state and local governments to reinforce federal immigration laws while also implementing an annual review of the executive branch’s use of prosecutorial discretion in immigration cases.
“If we are serious about finding a long term solution to our immigration system, we must address interior enforcement,” Gowdy, the Republican chairman of the Immigration and Border Security Subcommittee, said in a statement announcing the measure.
“This bill, which is one part of the Committee’s step-by-step process to address our broken immigration system, will ensure we do not repeat the mistakes of the past and help us earn back the trust of the American public,” he added.
If enacted, the bill would completely dismantle what Gowdy describes as Obama’s “unilateral, constitutional actions on immigration” by cutting off any and all funds to the initiative. It would also strip Obama and all future presidents of any power to unilaterally shut down immigration enforcement by allowing state and local governments the authorization to enforce federal immigration laws.
Gowdy’s measure would also cut some grants to “sanctuary cities” — municipalities that prohibit law enforcement from inquiring about immigration status.
Blog author's comments - Trey Gowdy is one of the most qualified politicians of his generation. It is too bad that the GOP does not have more members like him. I refer in particular to the leaders of the Senate and House. I don't believe Mitch McConnell will do anything except get along with the Democrats prior to the 2016 election. So, what good did the big win in the midterms do for the GOP if the leadership of the Republican Party does not plan to work with Gowdy and a few others who are attempting to accomplish something that is good for the country?
Trey Gowdy’s bill will probably pass in the House, but Senate passage is highly unlikely. If by chance the bill passed both the House and Senate it would never get by Obama's veto. If the Republican Party should ever put a President in the White House again Gowdy should be appointed to a high office in the cabinet. He is a real change from the Republican RINO's who are currently in Congress.
