Super Bowl XLIX

Sunday, February 1, 2015, 6:30 PM EST on NBC

New England Patriots

Seattle Seahawks

Super Bowl XLIX was a great game for the New England Patriots and for me. Patriots won 28, Seahawks 24. I believe that Coach Bill Belichick is the best head coach in the NFL and that Tom Brady is the best quarterback in the NFL. They have been my favorite team for many years

Harry Reid Cries About McConnell Shutting Down Debate In The Senate

Truth Revolt -- Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, notorious for repeatedly shutting down debate during his tenure, is now crying foul on newly-minted Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for… shutting down debate.

"I've never seen debate shut down as aggressively as when Sen. McConnell refused to allow Dems to debate their own amendments for just 1 min.

— Senator Harry Reid (@SenatorReid) January 26, 2015"

In his post on Reid’s “shameless” hypocrisy, HotAir’s Guy Benson laid out just how absurd the complaint from the “established liar,” “bizarre obsessive,” “remorseless slanderer,” and “exquisite hack” of a former majority leader is:

"This is rich. Richer, in fact, than Reid himself has become during his tenure as a supposed “public servant.” "The minority leader hopes Americans will forget that until very recently, he held McConnell’s title. For the full duration of calendar year 2014, Harry Reid permitted precisely 15 amendment votes on all legislation taken up by the United States Senate. Total. Prior to Reid’s tweet above, the new Republican-controlled Senate had already surpassed that number in one week, and had held 24 votes on amendments to the Keystone bill alone. Democrats (who’ve been praising the more functional system under McConnell) have taken to griping that the Republican majority is betraying its pledge to respect an “open amendment process” by trying to place some limits on endless offerings. They mounted a filibuster to block the latest cloture vote — a maneuver they railed against as ‘extreme obstructionism’ until roughly three weeks ago — in order to demand more votes on amendments. According to Senate sources, nearly 20 additional amendments will be debated between today and tomorrow, bringing the total to more than 40. On one bill. After Reid permitted 15 all year in 2014."

Benson also notes that Reid had the gall earlier this month to do an egregious about-face on his conveniently temporary anti-filibuster sentiments:

"Sen. Reid yesterday: "The filibuster is an indispensable tool of the minority"
Blog author's comments - What Harry Reid is complaining about is too funny. This grumbling coming from one of the most wretched excuses for a human being ever to walk the halls of Congress. Reid has proven that he is the hypocrite we on the right always knew he was. Go away Harry, retire. Your present position as Minority leader of the Senate makes it much harder for you to help Obama continue with his destruction of America.

Tom Brady And The Liberal War On Success

Daily Caller -- Can we be honest for a minute about the latest liberal crusade gripping the country like a deflated football?

If you are sincerely concerned about fair play in sports and waiting patiently for the NFL to conclude its investigation of “Deflategate,” this column is not directed at you. Maybe you’re a New England Patriots fan or just a neutral observer.

But for the rest of you, the mob salivating over the prospect of finding something to diminish the Patriots’ 2014 achievements, let’s face it. You hated Tom Brady before the national media lost its collective mind over the air pressure in footballs.[...]

You loathed Brady when he upset your team in the Super Bowl. You screamed with rage when he dissected your team’s secondary like a surgeon and exposed the Swiss cheese-like holes in your coverage's. You were outraged when he didn’t come out of the game after throwing at least four touchdown passes.

Then when he married a supermodel? Game over. You don’t hate him because he cheats. You hate him because he wins. Tom Brady is a winner. He has won 76.5 percent of the games he has started. He has been to the AFC Championship the majority of seasons he has played. He has three Super Bowl rings. He is about to make his sixth appearance in the big game.[...]

You don’t care that he has three rings, because Spygate. You don’t care that when throwing fully inflated footballs he completed 82 percent of his passes against the Indianapolis Colts just this year.[...]

I get it now, but for a long time I didn’t. I could understand why people disliked Bill Belichick, even if I didn’t agree. But Brady wasn’t much of a trash-talker, at least off the field. He was no Richard Sherman. He usually says the right thing in public. His teammates seem to enjoy playing with him and for him, even if he occasionally yells at receivers who run the wrong routes or referees who make unfavorable calls.

The same politics of envy that liberals exploit to make some people crave tax increases on the wealthy has turned you against the winningest quarterback of our time, a hero to the blue-collar and culturally conservative parts of the Bay State, a true Patriot.

If the rules were broken, they were broken and someone needs to be held accountable. Personal responsibility is a conservative value. As Belichick is fond of saying, “It is what it is.” What I’m talking about is the pure joy some people feel at the possibility a new anti-Brady talking point exists, the unadulterated glee that accompanies each Patriots loss.

Entire column...
Blog author's comments - I believe that Tom Brady is the best quarterback and Coach Bill Belichick is the best head coach in the NFL. The reason the NFL has not come forth with its findings about who did what and who is guilty of cheating is because I don't think anyone connected with the Patriots' did anything to change the air pressure in their footballs.

From my understanding the Patriots inflate their footballs to 12.5 psi and the Colts inflate theirs to 13.5 psi. The balls are supposed to be inflated between 12.5 and 13.5 psi. Did the officials during the game check the Colts footballs to see if theirs had also lost some air? If so, I have not heard it mentioned. And why did Brady do so well in the second half of the game with the correctly inflated balls? Liberals seem to dislike anyone who does well unless they are also football fans and their favorite team and players do well. There are many people who hate the Patriots' Tom Brady and Bill Belichick and are loving what has happened with the deflated footballs.

Green Beret Sniper Hilariously Destroys Michael Moore In Open Letter

Truth Revolt -- Ryan Sikes is a Green Beret Sniper who is now a Pro-Am shooter for GA precision Team Bushnell.

He is also a no-nonsense man who hilariously destroys Michael Moore in an open letter, going so far as to call him a “Crisco Sweating Waste Of Space Not Worthy To Be In The Presence Of A Sniper."

"Mr. Moore-

Good afternoon there sweetheart, I hope this finds you alive and well. You can thank our men and women of the armed forces for that, by the way, and that also includes us cowardly snipers. It seems you’ve found time between licking the jelly off your fingers and releasing your grasp of a bear claw to tweet some junk about snipers being cowards.

My buddies and I got a good laugh over the tweet, so I thank you. For a guy worth $50 million dollars, you sure have quite a bit to bitch and cry about. I guess like a moth to flame, you too gravitate towards things that are popular and in the moment — in this case it’s snipers. Too bad for you that your attempt at being relevant via your 70+ year old family experience has failed. It has only made you look dumber than a bag of hammers. Next time you should try something more original than going after snipers for one reason or another…that was so last month.

It’s typical of “men” like you to criticize the intestinal fortitude, focus, discipline and patriotism of a sniper. It must stem from an inferiority complex or something. But hey, it’s okay cupcake. We snipers are thick skinned and the efforts of world class turds such as yourself to portray us in a negative light only makes us laugh. If you and I were in the same room, I’d throw you a smile and gently pat you on the head knowing you’re nothing more than a mouth breathing, Crisco sweating waste of space not even worthy of being in the presence of a sniper. It’s almost funny how people like you preach things like ‘acceptance’ and ‘not passing judgment’ or ‘labeling people’, but then are the first to do so when a person is in some way dissimilar from you.

So tenderfoot, I leave you with this final thought: what if you found yourself in some sort of hostage situation where you were held at knife-point by some crazed person and they were dead set on making an example of you by bleeding you out on Hollywood Blvd in front of the world, and the only way out was with the precision aimed fire of a sniper? Would you want that coward to take the shot? Because knowing how you feel about snipers such as myself and your hatred of firearms, I’d probably drop the mag, roll the bolt and go get a Jack & Coke before helping you out.

Very Respectfully,

This is not the first time Sikes went after a public figure related to Chris Kyle and American Sniper. In July, Sikes penned a scathing letter calling out Jesse Ventura for continuing with the American Sniper defamation case by going after Chris Kyle’s widow, Taya.
Blog author's comments - The letter was written because of critical comments Michael Moore tweeted shortly after the movie "American Sniper" hit the theaters. He called military snipers "cowards." He also said "I think most Americans don't think snipers are heroes." The man is anti-gun but yet he has an armed guard with him whenever he is in public.

A good letter by Sikes to Moore because Moore deserved what was said about him. If some of you don't know who Moore is, he is an American movie director, has made a lot of money and is extremely over weight. That is why Sikes made mention of this in his open letter to Moore.

Gowdy: 'It's About Damn Time' We Use Power Of The Purse To Stop Obama

Truth Revolt -- Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) joined Wednesday's House debate against President Obama's executive actions granting legal status to millions of illegal aliens.

In his 2:40 floor speech Gowdy implored his fellow Congressmen to use the power of the purse to stop the president's unilateral actions:

President Obama announced one of the largest extra-constitutional power-grabs ever by a chief executive. He declared unilaterally that almost five million undocumented aliens will receive deferred action under some new-fangled definition of prosecutorial discretion, Madam Speaker. Not only that, not only escaping consequences, he has decided to bestow benefits such as work authorization and immigration benefits.

This, Madam Speaker, despite the fact that the very same president, over twenty different times, said he lacked the power to do what he just did. And he repeatedly said he is not a king. Now, Madam Speaker, his position may have changed, after the election I hasten to add, but the Constitution has not. That document is clear, time-tested, and true. And it says that this body passes laws and it is the responsibility of the chief executive, Madam Speaker, to make sure that those laws are faithfully enforced.

"If this president’s unilateral extra-constitutional acts are not stopped, Madam Speaker, future presidents will no doubt expand that power of the executive branch and threaten the constitutional equilibrium. But Madam Speaker, This is not a fight between Republicans and Democrats. This is not even a fight over immigration reform. This is a fight over whether this branch of government will ever find the courage to stand up for itself. The same document that this and all presidents swear to defend gives this body certain tools. Tools like the power of the purse and it's about damn time we use that tool."

Gowdy's remarks received thunderous applause from his Republican colleagues.
Blog author's comments - This was another good speech by Trey Gowdy on the House floor. An open speech in the House calling out other members to regain their rightful place in government would indicate that he is also working behind the scenes on them to get on board. The Obama supporters are no doubt beginning to hate Gowdy as much as they do Ted Cruz in the Senate. Too bad we don't have more like Trey Gowdy in the House; it would be a start to overcome the current Republican establishment that now rules the Republican side of the House. Gowdy, in my opinion, is one of the most trusted Representatives the GOP has.

FBI: December Gun Sales Skyrocket,
2.3 Million Background Checks Conducted

Breitbart -- The FBI’s December figures show 2.3 million background checks for gun purchasers were conducted in one month alone.

That is an increase of nearly 300,000 from the number of background checks conducted in December 2013.

Breitbart News previously reported that on Black Friday alone there were nearly three background checks conducted every second. A strong December was expected.

CNN Money reports that the 2.3 million background checks for December were considerably higher than the number of background checks for other months in 2014. For example, there were 1.4 million conducted in July and 1.5 million conducted in August. This was topped by 1.6 million in October and 1.8 million in November.

It is important to note that background checks do not correlate perfectly to the number of guns sold. Purchasers can buy numerous guns per each background check. For example, if the 2.3 million persons who underwent background checks bought two guns instead of one, then the number of guns sold by retailers in December was 4.6 million. If they bought three guns, the number of guns sold would have been 6.9 million.

The FBI made this clear in their report: “[The 2.3 million] represents the number of firearm background checks initiated through the NICS. They do not represent the number of firearms sold. Based on varying state laws and purchase scenarios, a one-to-one correlation cannot be made between a firearm background check and a firearm sale.”

On top of the millions of retail sales that took place in December, an untold number of Americans sold guns privately to friends, family members, and acquaintances, as Americans have done since 1791.
Blog author's comments - Obama has been good for gun sales. These statistics represent the increasing apprehension American citizens are feeling because of government inability or unwillingness to address economic issues, criminal issues and terrorism. When people are uncertain about their economic future and personal safety they are going to do what they have to and part of that is making sure that their personal protection is insured. If Obama has done anything he has created an environment of anxiety and instability in this country that is the source of multiple problems we are now seeing.

Also, with wide open borders that allow criminals, cartel thugs, jihadists, illegals, etc. to roam freely in the country, along with all the racist blacks attacking whites and others these days, is it any wonder people are arming to defend themselves? Yet despite this the liberals want to take your gun rights away. The police aren't even safe on our streets. People are waking up to the reality we live in a dangerous world, one more dangerous by the day, thanks to liberal policies.

McConnell: I'm Not Opposed To Negotiating With Obama

Breitbart -- On CNN’s “State of the Union,” newly elected Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told Dana Bash that he is ready and willing to negotiating with President Obama.

McConnell said, “The first two years he had huge majorities in the House and Senate. The last four years they controlled the Senate. They guaranteed he never got anything he didn’t like. Now he needs to talk to us and that’s good. When American people elect a divided government they’re not saying they don’t want anything done. They are saying they want things done in the political center, things that both sides can agree on.”

“I’m not opposed to negotiating with the administration,” adding, “So I don’t object to negotiating with him. I’ve done it in the past.”
Blog author's comments - Obama and the Democrats don't 'negotiate' with the Republican Party. What a travesty. McConnell is not opposed to negotiating with Obama, however McConnell is clearly opposed to negotiating with Republican conservatives. The only way anything was going to get done in the war with the Obama administration was for McConnell and Boehner to be replaced as the leaders of the Senate and House. Well, it did not happen because John Boehner won the vote to remain the Speaker of the House.

Now the GOP will go along the way they always have. Nothing will be done to fight Obama on his executive order of Amnesty for the illegals or Obamacare and energy just to name a few. McConnell said the American people "are saying they want things done in the political center, things that both sides can agree on.” No they don't, I certainly don't.

The voters gave the GOP a big win in the midterms to stop Obama. It is not going to happen with the leadership the Republicans have in Congress. Obama has already said he will veto any bill that he receives on the passage of the Keystone pipeline. The next two years will be a waste for the GOP and they will go into the 2016 Presidential campaign with nothing accomplished. The Republicans need to stop Obama's agenda. They need to stop the ongoing destruction of this country and its transformation.

Poll: 60% Of Republicans Want Boehner Out As Speaker

Truth Revolt -- As the new Congress prepares to convene and elect a new speaker, a recently released telephone survey reveals that 60 percent of Republican voters want to give current speaker John Boehner the boot and bring in some new blood.

Conducted by conservative pollster Pat Caddell, the poll shows that just 25 percent of Republican voters are in favor of keeping Boehner as speaker. As noted by Conservative Review, no major party leader has polled this low among their own base unless "embroiled in a major scandal," which essentially means that House Republicans set to vote on Tuesday will have much explaining to do should they decide to disappoint their constituents yet again.

Furthermore, when voters were asked whether or not they felt Boehner had been ineffective opposing President Obama's agenda, a whopping 64 percent agreed he had been ineffective.

Democrats have already shown they're in favor of keeping the status-quo, having already re-elected Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid as minority leaders to the House and Senate. Will Republicans follow their lead or shake up the establishment?
Blog author's comments - If there are enough GOP House members who do have plans to replace Boehner the sooner the better. The poll was only 60% I am amazed it was not much higher. The voters in Ohio who reelected him must not follow politics very closely and don't realize what he has done as The Speaker of the House.

He has been the worst Speaker in my lifetime. My vote as the man to replace him would be Congressman Trey Gowdy (SC). John Boehner allows Obama to use him as a doormat. He is a disgrace to the Republican Party, but I will be very surprised if he is replaced.

This List Of 10 Symptoms May Indicate Chronic Liberalism

Via the The Federalist Papers

1. If you believe that early snow and cold weather is a sign of Global Warming™…you may be a Liberal.

2. If you believe that conservatives who support Ben Carson do so because conservatives hate blacks….you may be a Liberal.

3. If you believe that Americans shouldn’t own guns, but think it’s okay to run guns to Mexican drug lords…you may be a liberal.

4. If you believe that the TEA Party is bad because they could be violent, even though they’re not violent…you may be a Liberal.

5. If you believe that the Occupy groups are good, despite their violence…you may be a Liberal.

6. If you believe that the solution to problems caused by government is more government…you may be a Liberal.

7. If you believe that killing an unborn baby is fine, but executing a convicted murderer is immoral…you may be a Liberal.

8. If you believe that Christians are evil for trying to impose their morality on you, but have no problem with the government forcing them to participate in same-sex weddings…you may be a Liberal.

9. If you believe that racial diversity is a great thing but that Europeans coming to the Americas was a crime against humanity…you may be a Liberal.

10. If you believe that rich people – who pay 86% of all income taxes – aren’t paying their “fair share” but low-income people – who actually have a negative tax (the government pays them) are oppressed…you may be a Liberal.

Blog author's comments - These are just a few examples which indicate chronic liberalism, there are way too many to list. The people who voted for Barack Obama for president not once, but twice is a sure sign those people are obviously chronic liberals.
