Jeff Sessions: House Border Bill Is a 'Surrender To a Lawless President'

National Review Online --Senator Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) denounced the House Republican border bill as a “surrender to a lawless president” because the legislation does not include any language to prevent President Obama from expanding his unilateral legalization of illegal immigrants.

Here’s the statement:

The Obama Administration has openly declared its plan to implement a unilateral executive amnesty for 5–6 million more illegal immigrants. This unlawful amnesty—urged on by congressional Democrats—would include work permits, taking jobs directly from millions of struggling American citizens.

Any action Congress might consider to address the current border crisis would be futile should the President go forward with these lawless actions. Congress must speak out and fight against them. It must use its spending power to stop the President’s executive amnesty.

That the House leaders’ border package includes no language on executive actions is surrender to a lawless President. And it is a submission to the subordination of congressional power.

After years of falling wages and rising joblessness, American workers are pleading for someone to hear them. How can it be that our President is brazenly advertising that he will nullify and strip away American workers’ immigration protections, and their own elected leaders will not rise to their defense? Or to the defense of our laws and our Constitutional order?

There are other grave concerns with the Granger package as well: because it does not fix our asylum rules and loopholes, the end result of the additional judges and hearings will be more illegal immigrants gaining asylum and access to U.S. welfare. It is a plan for expedited asylum, not expedited removal.

Nor will this package make our rogue President actively enforce anything, coming nowhere close to the kinds of reasonable enforcement activities needed to restore the interior application of our immigration laws.

And finally, a package that is silent on blocking amnesty creates an opportunity for Senate Democrats to add elements of their party’s open borders and mass immigration agenda.

This legislation is unworthy of support.
Blog author's comments - Senator Jeff Sessions, he is one of the few in the Republican Party who is unafraid to voice an honest, correct opinion. The House’s proposed $659 million spending bill which Sessions is referring to in the above column, to address the border crisis is effectively a sign of surrender to Obama, since it contains no language that would stop him and his regime from granting amnesty and work permits to millions of illegal immigrants.

Sessions has warned that reports indicate Obama is planning to sign an Executive Order, and that Congress must seek to defund this possible action or watch as expensive efforts to secure the border fail under the weight of an even bigger flood of immigrants. But, for now Obama has not signed his Executive Order on immigration but is simply ignoring the immigration laws which are already in place and allowing the illegals to continue to cross our borders.

Sessions has said that “any action Congress might consider to address the current border crisis would be futile should the president go forward with these lawless actions.” “Congress must speak out and fight against them. It must use its spending power to stop the president’s executive amnesty.”

"The House leaders border package includes no language on executive actions is surrender to a lawless president,” he added. “And it is a submission to the subordination of congressional power.”

Sessions feels the bill is “unworthy of support” which is a true statement because it fails to tighten rules for granting asylum to immigrants. I have said many times that the only immigration bill the House should pass and send to the Senate is one which closes our borders and attempts to send the illegals who are currently being housed in America back to their own countries.

Obama Calls Netanyahu, Wants An "Immediate And Uncondtitioal" Cease-Fire

The Hill -- President Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by phone on Sunday as a ceasefire with Hamas broke apart.

Obama reiterated his "strong condemnation" of rocket and tunnel attacks against Israel by the militant group Hamas, but also expressed "growing concern" about the rising number of Palestinian civilian deaths in Gaza.

Obama called for an "immediate, unconditional" humanitarian ceasefire, according to a White House readout of the call. Negotiations to extend a 12-hour truce broke down over the weekend. Israel says it offered to extend the ceasefire for another 24 hours, only to see new rocket fire from Gaza. Israel then resumed its own military actions in Gaza.

"Hamas has broken five cease-fires that we accepted," Netanyahu said on Fox News Sunday. "They rejected all of them, violated all of them, including two humanitarian cease-fires in the last 24 hours."

On the call with Netanyahu, Obama stressed the need to enact a "sustainable ceasefire" that both "allows Palestinians in Gaza to lead normal lives, and addresses Gaza's long-term development and economic needs while strengthening the Palestinian Authority."

Any lasting solution to the ongoing conflict would only occur with the disarmament of terrorist groups and demilitarization of Gaza, Obama said.
Blog author's comments - Anyone who has been paying attention during Obama's presidency has to know where his loyalty lies with regard to Israel and their many enemies. I have no idea what Obama expects Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to do to protect Israel and its people from the terrorists. I don't believe there will ever be peace in the Middle East because Hamas and other terrorist groups will not recognize Israel's right to exist.

At one time America was Israel's very close ally. If Obama would come out and say that the United States completely backs Israel it may help the current situation. But this will not happen. It is really too bad that America does not have a leader who is even close to the caliber of man that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is. Netanyahu truly cares for the people and his country of Israel and will do what he feels he must to protect them. Can most of us really say that about Obama and America? I don't think so.

Sarah Palin: Why Aren't Illegals Sent To Mark Zuckerberg's Neighborhood?

Breitbart News -- On Saturday, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin wondered why President Barack Obama's administration was not dumping illegal immigrant children in exclusive liberal communities in Manhattan, Silicon Valley, and the Washington, D.C. suburbs to live with pro-amnesty advocates.

Speaking at the Western Conservative Summit in Colorado on Saturday, Palin said that politicians and their rich pro-amnesty friends in Silicon Valley or Wall Street can afford the best security for their borders that money can buy in their exclusive, gated communities. But Palin said when it comes to taking care of the nearly 60,000 illegal immigrant children who have come across the border since October of last year that they do not want deported, the same pro-amnesty advocates want them dumped in other communities.

"Notice they are not hauling illegals to the swanky neighborhoods of D.C. and Manhattan," Palin said. "They are sending them to middle-class neighborhoods." The high-tech industry has come under fire, as Palin noted, for pushing for no limits in the number of guest-worker visas that can be awarded to foreigners while laying off American workers. A week after Bill Gates co-wrote an op-ed calling for an unlimited number of guest-worker visas, Microsoft decided this week to slash 18,000 jobs. Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg has also spent millions of dollars through his FWD.us group to try to ram through comprehensive amnesty legislation.

In her Breitbart News op-ed calling for impeachment, Palin said that illegal immigration is the tipping point for her on impeachment because it impacts working Americans of all races and backgrounds.

"The federal government is trillions of dollars in debt; many of our cities are on the verge of insolvency; our overrun healthcare system, police forces, social services, schools, and our unsustainably generous welfare-state programs are stretched to the max," she wrote.

Palin mentioned that “high crimes and misdemeanors” does not necessarily mean ordinary criminal offenses, and the Framers used the term to "mean a dereliction of duty." Palin said the first duty of the president is to enforce the laws and preserve and protect the Constitution. She said that if Obama cannot be impeached because of his lawlessness on illegal immigration then nobody can. Palin, referencing Alexander Hamilton, noted that impeachable offenses meant the "abuse or violation of some public trust." Hamilton called them “political” offenses because they “relate chiefly to injuries done immediately to the society itself.”
Blog author's comments - Good question from Sarah Palin. Why aren't some of these illegal immigrants being dropped in Zuckerberg's and many other luxurious liberal neighborhoods? Could it be that Zuckerberg and another hypocrite Bill Gates who is also pressing for the illegal immigrants are afraid that these ‘innocent’ illegals, many of them who are in their late teens or adults, might not be the type of people they want living in their neighborhoods? Sarah Palin is right on this issue. Also, I know it is not now possible to accomplish, but she is also correct in calling for Obama’s impeachment. This ‘community organizer’ does not deserve to be the President of the United States.

Obama and his corrupt administration are perfectly happy to wreck the country and its ability to sustain itself if it means that the Democrats get to rule over the ruins. Obama wanted an immigration bill passed and because it was not, I believe he helped enable what is happening now with the flood of illegals and will not do anything to stop it. There's value to the Democratic Party in the illegals, that value will be future dependent voters.

Illegals will be sent to many Republican areas of the country. It's Obama's way of punishing his critics. Almost every Obama policy in the last five plus years has been intended to reward his supporters and punish those who disagree with him. But it seems as if so many members of the Republican Party don’t realize that the Democrats are at war with them and that the Democrats will do anything they believe is needed to help them win.

Most Voters Want To Send Latest Illegal Immigrants Home ASAP

Rasmussen Reports -- Most voters don’t want any of the young illegal immigrants who’ve recently arrived here housed in their state and say any legislation passed by Congress to deal with the problem should focus on sending them home as soon as possible.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 59% of Likely U.S. Voters believe the primary focus of any new immigration legislation passed by Congress should be to send the young illegal immigrants back home as quickly as possible. Just 27% say it should focus instead on making it easier for these illegal immigrants to remain in the United States. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.[...]

Voters are more uncertain, however, when it comes to the $3.7 billion in new spending that President Obama has asked for from Congress to deal with these new illegal immigrants. Twenty-six percent (26%) think Congress should approve the president’s request even if it does not provide for quicker deportation of these illegals, but 40% oppose approval if money for sped-up deportation is not included. One-in-three voters (34%) are not sure.

Earlier this month, a plurality (46%) of voters said the Obama administration, through its statements and policies, has encouraged this latest wave of illegal immigration.[...]

Americans still overwhelmingly believe in the importance of closing the border to future illegal immigration despite the federal government’s failure to do so. They have suggestions, too, about the best way to stem the tide of illegal immigration.

Eighty-three percent (83%) of voters say they have been following recent news reports about the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border, with 51% who have been following Very Closely.

Eighty-five percent (85%) of Republicans and 61% of voters not affiliated with either major party believe the primary focus of any new immigration legislation should be sending these latest illegal immigrants back home as quickly as possible. Democrats by a 46% to 36% margin disagree and say new legislation should primarily deal with making it easier for them to stay here.

Entire column...
Blog author's comments - Obama the dictator in the White House doesn't care about this poll or what most of the voters want. It is obvious that he is taking the chance with his stance on illegal immigration that the Democrats could lose the Senate and the GOP still retain control of the House. He sees the illegals who are already here and the many more that will come before anything is done to begin to stop them as Democrat voters for the future which could give the Democratic Party control for years. Show Obama and all Democrats your appreciation for what they are doing by voting as many as possible out of office during the midterm elections in November.

Senator Tom Coburn Offers Cheaper Solution To Fix Border Surge

Daily Caller -- Oklahoma U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn says he has a much better solution to fix the problem presented by tens of thousands of illegal Central American immigrants that have been apprehended at the southern U.S. border.

“Look, for $8 million you could put them all on a first-class seat back to their homes,” Coburn said on CNN’s “Crossfire” on Tuesday.

Coburn was answering a line of questioning concerning the Obama administration’s announcement on Tuesday that it would be asking Congress for $3.7 billion to help deal with the 52,000 unaccompanied children and 39,000 mothers with children who have been apprehended since Oct. 1.

The influx has drained resources from border protection and immigration agencies, as well as the Department of Health and Human Services.

The administration’s plan to increase spending is “the wrong approach,” Coburn said.

He rebutted a claim made by many Democrats and administration officials that the immigrants are flocking here — mostly from Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala — to flee rampant violence in those countries.

“This isn’t about violence. Some of it is,” Coburn said, while pointing out that violence has not changed significantly in two of the three countries, and has actually fallen in one.

Rather, the administration’s immigration policies are leading them to believe they can stay in the U.S.

“What changed was the expectation that you could come here, and you wouldn’t be sent home,” Coburn said.

The Obama administration has adopted a policy of deporting only violent criminals. It has also enacted a program called Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, which provides amnesty to people who arrived to the U.S. as children.

Coburn also supported the reversal of a 2008 anti-sex trafficking law that requires Customs and Border Protection to hand unaccompanied children from countries that do not border the U.S. to the Department of Health and Human Services, which houses them and seeks to place them with sponsors while they await deportation proceedings.

“What we have to do is change the 2008 law, and say, if you’re not contiguous with us, we’re going to treat you just like you were contiguous with us,” Coburn told CNN.

“We can change that in two weeks in the Senate and the House. Just reverse that law, retroactively.”

Asked if he opposes Obama’s $3.7 billion funding proposal — which was nearly double the administration’s initial $2 billion request Coburn said he does.

“I’m opposing that money because the money’s going to be asked for again next year,” he said.

Coburn also commented on public opposition to Obama’s stance on immigration, saying that resentment towards the administration’s policies is aimed at a deeper issue.

“It’s not immigration,” said Coburn. “It’s that they don’t see our government enforcing our laws.”
Blog author's comments - Obama does not want a solution to this problem. He wants an immigration bill passed. The bill that was sent from the Senate to the House was wrong for the country so the House chose not to pass it. Because Obama always wants every thing his way and refuses to work with the GOP, what we are now seeing with the flood of illegals, I believe, was planned and orchestrated by the Obama administration.

If the House voted to change the 2008 law and it passed, I doubt that it would in the Senate. Obama does not want it changed, not while he can use it to his advantage.

And now Obama is using the excuse that he cannot stop the surge of illegals because the Republican controlled House has not yet given him the $3.7 billion funding proposal he needs and without it he cannot put a stop to the flood of illegals. Has there ever been a single problem during his five plus years as president that was not the fault of others, such as George W. Bush or the Republicans? The illegals will continue to come to America and those who are now here will not be returned to their own countries, which is exactly what Obama wants.

Sarah Palin: 'It's Time To Impeach' President Obama

Breitbart -- Enough is enough of the years of abuse from this president. His unsecured border crisis is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, “no mas.”

Without borders, there is no nation. Obama knows this. Opening our borders to a flood of illegal immigrants is deliberate. This is his fundamental transformation of America. It’s the only promise he has kept. Discrediting the price paid for America’s exceptionalism over our history, he’s given false hope and taxpayer’s change to millions of foreign nationals who want to sneak into our country illegally. Because of Obama’s purposeful dereliction of duty an untold number of illegal immigrants will kick off their shoes and come on in, competing against Americans for our jobs and limited public services. There is no end in sight as our president prioritizes parties over doing the job he was hired by voters to do. Securing our borders is obviously fundamental here; it goes without saying that it is his job.

The federal government is trillions of dollars in debt, many cities are on the verge of insolvency, our overrun healthcare system, police forces, social services, schools, and our unsustainably generous welfare-state programs are stretched to the max. We average Americans know that. So why has this issue been allowed to be turned upside down with our “leader” creating such unsafe conditions while at the same time obstructing any economic recovery by creating more dependents than he allows producers? His friendly wealthy bipartisan elite, who want cheap foreign labor and can afford for themselves the best “border security” money can buy in their own exclusive communities, do not care that Obama tapped us out.

Have faith that average American workers – native-born and wonderful legal immigrants of all races, backgrounds, and political parties – do care because we’re the ones getting screwed as we’re forced to follow all our government’s rules while others are not required to do so. Many now feel like strangers in their own land. It’s the American worker who is forced to deal with Obama’s latest crisis with our hard-earned tax dollars while middle class wages decrease, sustainable jobs get more scarce, and communities become unrecognizable and bankrupted due to Obama’s flood of illegal immigration.

Who’s looking out for the American workers? Who has their backs? Who fights for them?

We should.

President Obama’s rewarding of lawlessness, including his own, is the foundational problem here. It’s not going to get better, and in fact irreparable harm can be done in this lame-duck term as he continues to make up his own laws as he goes along, and, mark my words, will next meddle in the U.S. Court System with appointments that will forever change the basic interpretation of our Constitution’s role in protecting our rights.

It’s time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment.

The many impeachable offenses of Barack Obama can no longer be ignored. If after all this he’s not impeachable, then no one is.
Blog author's comments - "The many impeachable offenses of Barack Obama can no longer be ignored. If after all this he’s not impeachable, then no one is."

Yes, Sarah Palin is right. But the Democrats in Congress will ignore it all. Their oath to the Constitution is meaningless, they mean not a word of it. Party first and its big government agenda come first, the country not at all. So maybe there are enough votes in the House to impeach, but no Democrat will be among them. Then when the bill from the House goes to the Senate for a trial (if Reid even allows the matter to proceed), where the Democrats are a majority, the requisite two-thirds majority of Senators must vote to impeach. So, it will go no where. And the liberal mainstream media will preach to the country, Obama's supporters and the low-information voters that the only reason Obama is being persecuted is because he is black and the Republicans are racists and always have been because they disagree with his policies and agenda for America.

I have liked Sarah Palin since I met her at a fundraiser in 2008 prior to the election. She seemed to me to be the only one who was attempting to win, because John McCain ran a terrible campaign and they had Palin on a leash, she had to do what they told her. She has been portrayed as an air head by the leftists, but that is totally false. She is a very intelligent lady and a true conservative who cares very much for our country. The GOP ticket was going to lose no matter who ran in 2008 because of the constant bashing of Bush by the MSM and because Obama was a black man.

As much as I would like to see Obama thrown out of office, it will never happen. The Republican Party, even if they had the votes in the House and Senate to do it would be afraid to. They do not want to be known forever as the party who impeached the first black president in the history of our country. It is too bad that the first black president had to be the worst president. And he still has two more years to ignore the laws he swore to uphold and continue to destroy the country. I do hope that those who care will be out in force at the polls in the 2014 midterm elections to attempt to reverse the direction of the way the country is going.

Trevor Loudon Picks Leaders Of The 2nd American Revolution

Trevor Loudon -- [Video below] -- So this is what I would do if were a man like Ted Cruz.

I'd want to get that coalition together now, early, before Jeb Bush gets any money and any support. I'd want to rebuild that Reagan coalition. So I'd be going to these groups right now. And the first thing I'd say to them: I'm going to run and run early.

And I'm to put Allen West on my VP ticket.

And then, for you libertarians, I'm going to make Rand Paul my Secretary of the Treasury and he can do what he damn well wants to the Federal Reserve and the IRS. He can take them down, abolish them, do what he wants.

And then you energy voters, Sarah Palin, Secretary of Energy. Drill, baby, drill, Drill in your backyard if you want to. Two dollar a gallon gas for every American family. Keystone pipeline, open it up!

Scott Walker, Secretary of Labor. Right-to-work all over, folks, every state.

Herman Cain, Secretary of Commerce. De-regulate, de-regulate, de-regulate. EPA gone, OSHA gone, the whole lot.

John Bolton, Secretary of State. Tell your enemies where to get off, rebuild your alliances.

Ambassador to the United Nations... no one.

Dr. Ben Carson, Secretary of Health and Human Services. End the welfare culture in this country.

Attorney General, Mark Levin. Stick it to the vote fraudsters, people.

And for the Christians, who often don't care about politics, but they do care about the education of their children, I'd say to them: vote for me this time and we will get rid of Common Core, we're going to get rid of the Department of Education, we're going to protect your home-schooling rights because David Barton will be Secretary of Education.

You could fill the whole cabinet, folks. Fill it now.

Would you rally to a team like that? Would you get out of bed every day, can't wait to get to the phone banks, and open your checkbook, and knock on doors to get those people in power.

And wouldn't it unify the base? Because everyone's getting something. You might not like Sarah Palin, but you love Allen West. You might not like John Bolton, but you like Rand Paul.

It's inspiring, with a clear policy direction. You know what you're going to get. Because where else do you work your butts off for a nebulous promise. We don't do it in business. We don't do it in our education. We know what we're going to get. That's why we work. With this team, we will work like nothing else.

And think about it, folks. You've never had a bigger team of Constitutionalists, conservatives, and libertarians, than you have today. Far more than Reagan had. And you've got all of these millions of people just itching to save their country. You've got all of these leaders out there that can't wait to gut the federal government.

You put the base with the leaders and who is going to stand in your way? Imagine, right now, you put your eggs in one basket. And they can demonize a Mitt Romney. Try and demonize 20 hard-core, Constitutional conservatives, a bunch of Rottweilers, who don't take any crap from anyone... who are all backing each other up.

You've got a team, folks. You win football with a good team. Why not win politics that way? Because you've done it before.

You didn't have a founding father, guys. You didn't just have George Washington. You had George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and Sam Adams and Benjamin Franklin and James Madison.

It was a team that won the first American Revolution and you need a team to win the Second American Revolution.

Blog author's comments - I could most certainly support the team that Trevor Loudon has named. We need people like these to begin as Loudon calls the "leaders of the 2nd American Revolution." But, the huge problem that I see is that the GOP 'Washington establishment' would not support them but do all they could to defeat them. And because of this the Republican Party could lose the presidential election, and we would have another four or more years of what Obama has done in his plan to destroy America.

FYI: Trevor Loudon is a New Zealand author, speaker and political activist. He describes himself as "believing in freedom with responsibility, not freedom from responsibility. My ideal society is one in which government is slashed to the bone and people are free to reach their potential."

Obama Says He Will Use Executive Action To Address Immigration System

NPR -- President Obama says he is going to use executive action to deal with what he says is a broken immigration system.

While I will continue to push Republicans to drop excuses and act," Obama said, "Americans cannot wait forever for them to act."

Obama made the announcement at the White House Rose Garden on Monday. He said he will begin "a new effort to fix the immigration system on my own, without Congress."

Obama announced one piece of concrete action — that he would move some immigration enforcement assets from the interior of the country to the border. He said his Cabinet will meet and by the end of the summer, it will bring him recommendations for executive actions.

Obama added that he made the decision a year after the Senate passed an immigration reform bill and after House Speaker John Boehner, a Republican from Ohio, told him that he would not push for a vote on an immigration overhaul bill this year.

This is, of course, also a controversial move by the president, because it was just last week that Boehner threatened to sue Obama over his executive actions. Republicans have long complained that Obama is running afoul of the Constitution by taking executive action instead of pursuing legislation.

President Obama also received a rebuke from the Supreme Court, which decided last week that he had overstepped his powers while making appointments to the National Labor Relations Board while the Senate was in a pro forma session.

Obama's announcement also comes amid a crisis at the Southern border, which has seen an almost 100 percent year-to-year increase in the number of unaccompanied minors crossing into the United States illegally. As we reported Sunday, Obama is asking Congress for more than $2 billion to stem the tide of migrants and says the executive needs more flexibility in deportation laws to be able to quickly deport non-Mexican children.

In a statement, Boehner said executive orders won't solve the problems with the country's immigration system.

"The crisis at our southern border reminds us all of the critical importance of fixing our broken immigration system," Boehner said. "It is sad and disappointing that – faced with this challenge – President Obama won't work with us, but is instead intent on going it alone with executive orders that can't and won't fix these problems."
Blog author's comments - The first action that should be taken to address the illegal immigration problem is to close our borders. And the GOP controlled House wants to do this. But a stand alone bill on only borders would not pass in the Senate, and I doubt that Harry Reid would even bring it up for a vote.

Illegal immigrants who will work have taken jobs away from current citizens. But I believe a majority of illegals will not even seek work but go on the government dole. Illegals are helping to ruin our schools, driving up the cost of health care, and commit a huge amount of crime. Most can't read, write, or speak English. Illegal immigration and the disaster on the border will turn the tide against immigration reform until the border is secure.

The majority of Americans do not want their country flooded with illegals which is what is happening now. But Obama and the Democrats view all illegals as future Democratic Party voters. Everyone has seen how Obama and the AG Eric Holder have not allowed laws in the border states such as Arizona to attempt to curtail the illegals, or to check if one is legal during a traffic stop by asking to see their papers to verify their status.

Obama believes he should be able to do whatever he wants via 'executive orders'. The immigration bill the Senate sent to the House for passage was not a serious bill. Perhaps someone should tell Obama that he is not the dictator of America. The man cannot be trusted and the Constitution means very little to him.
