Fox News -- Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Megyn Kelly discuss AG Eric Holder and the DOJ targeting of Fox News reporter James Rosen.

Ted Cruz: “It’s unprecedented. The degree of willingness of this administration to target a reporter of this network as an unindicted co-conspirator, that is without precedent. And unfortunately, I think it’s part and parcel of a pattern of this administration of not respecting the Bill of Rights."

Ted Cruz: Holder Should Resign "This DOJ Has
Demonstrated a Willingness to Disregard the Law"

Blog author's comments - I believe Ted Cruz is one of the very few trustworthy people on Capitol Hill. I hope he has a long career. The Republican Party could use many more like him.

Eric Holder was chosen to be the head of the DOJ by Obama because he is what he is. He will do whatever it takes to push Obama's agenda for the country whether it is within the law, constitutional or not. Holder will do what he believes he can get away with... and so far he has escaped unscathed.

Cruz is correct Holder has acted like he is above the law and become blatant in his disregard for the laws of our country. He needs to be held accountable and punished for all the things he has been involved in. But Holder isn't exactly the real problem, it's his boss Obama who he receives his guidance from and who will protect him.

Barack Obama knows exactly what Holder is doing because they have to get together and discuss their plans...decide what they want to attain their goals and retain their power over their enemy the GOP or anyone who may cause problems for them. Also, Obama will never remove Eric Holder from his position as AG because Holder knows so much concerning what Obama has done.

Labor Big a Real Heavy Sleeper On The Job And Is Paid $156,000 Annually

New York Post -- Union fat cat Mark Rosenthal spends more time sleeping at his desk than organizing labor, a series of damning photos reveals.

The 400-pound president of Local 983 of District Council 37 — the city’s largest blue-collar municipal-workers union —often downs a huge meal, then drops into dreamland in the early afternoon, members of the union’s executive board told The Post.

“He eats lunch when he arrives at work at 2 p.m. Then, like clockwork, he goes to sleep with a cup of soda on the table and the straw in it,” said Marvin Robbins, a union vice president.

“Then he wakes up, looks at his watch and says, ‘I have to get out before the traffic gets bad.’ He’s usually out by 4 p.m. after being at the office two hours.” Rosenthal is a former Parks Department employee who rose to power campaigning to rid the union of corruption in the late 1990s.

He last made embarrassing headlines in 2009, when he inspired a City Council bill requiring jumbo-size ambulances for morbidly obese patients after he had a stroke at City Hall.

Since then, he hasn’t been making much of an effort to give the city’s ambulances a break and slim down. Union officials say he racks up $1,400 in monthly food bills on the union dime.

Much of the 5-foot-7, 400-plus-pound Rosenthal’s food tabs are for catered union events and meals he writes off as “union business,” board members claim.

They say he significantly overorders at eateries like Dallas BBQ, the Stage Door Deli and Pine Restaurant in The Bronx, a hangout for local politicians, and takes the extra food back to his Bronxdale apartment.

“He’s always walking off with a doggie bag or extra boxes of food,” said another executive board member.

Rosenthal, who earns $156,000 annually, yesterday denied being a free spender— and insisted he works “12-to-14-hour days.”

He says the allegations are “part of a smear campaign” by a faction trying to get another Local 983 vice president, Joseph Puleo, elected president in a June 5 showdown.

He said it’s normal for executives to take “power naps.”

He also blamed his meetings with the sandman on the effects of pain medication he takes for backaches he has suffered since he fell through a chair at a McDonald’s last year.

“The chair broke because I’m big,” Rosenthal said.

“I’m 60 years old, so if I eat during my lunch hour and take a little medication, can’t I close my eyes?” he said outside his apartment complex. “Is it so outrageous?”

Blog author's comments - Union members, this is where some of the dues you pay is going. And this guy is making $156,000 a year as a union boss. There are no doubt many union bosses and employees in other cities...probably not as over weight as he is...but making a large salary and benefits for doing nothing productive.

Mr. Rosenthal receives a six figure income, he spends two hours a day in the office, most of it napping or eating, probably has a generous expense account, gold-plated healthcare, a huge pension for life and he also has a car funded by the union. Union members should be so proud; this is probably what many of them aspire to. This guy would never have made it as a private sector employee.

Obama: We Must 'Constantly Strive to Remain Worthy of the Public Trust'

CNS News -- President Barack Obama told graduates at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., Friday that they – and he – must “constantly strive to remain worthy of the public trust.”

“You will lead this country, and if we want to restore the trust that the American people deserve to have in their institutions, all of us have to do our part, and those of us in leadership – myself included – have to constantly strive to remain worthy of the public trust,” said Obama.[...]

“More likely it’ll be when you’re in the spotlight leading others – the men and women who are looking up to you to set an example. Never ask them to do what you don’t ask of yourself. Live with integrity and speak with honesty and take responsibility and demand accountability,” he said.

“We need your moral courage – the strength to do what’s right, especially when it’s unpopular, because at the end of the day and at the end of your career, you want to look in the mirror and say with confidence and with pride, ‘I fulfilled my oath. I did my duty. I stayed true to my values,’” Obama added.

Obama’s speech comes amid numerous scandals, including the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups and the Justice Department’s seizing the phone records of reporters and editors at the Associated Press and Fox News Channel.

Blog author's comments - President Obama...has been striving in the wrong direction. He has never been worthy of the public trust. Those of us who are not members of his party and who pay attention to the daily political events know that he is a complete failure. Any chance of progress to put the country on a path to positive recovery can only begin when he is gone from office.

He cannot stop lying to the American people. Those who trust him are his hard core left-wing base and the low information Americans. This has got to be the most corrupt, scandal ridden administration ever. Obama continues to show his utter contempt for the rule of law and the American citizens. I cannot imagine that many of the graduates at the U.S. Naval Academy enjoyed listening to his speech.

Congressman Trey Gowdy Objects to IRS' Lerner Taking The Fifth

Fox News -- Before Lois Lerner, director of the IRS division that singled out conservative groups was dismissed from the hearing by committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) objected, saying since Lerner testified by making an opening statement, she would have to stay and answer the lawmakers' questions.

"You don't get to tell your side of the story and then not be subjected to cross-examination. That's not the way it works. She waived her right to Fifth Amendment privilege by issuing an opening statement. She ought to stand here and answer our questions," said Gowdy to some applause in the crowd.

Blog author's comments - I am disappointed in Darrell Issa. She should have been made to sit there and to respond, in one way or another, to a series of questions. It seems absurd that she should be able to say what she wants, then invoke the 5th Amendment to avoid answering any questions after she made her statement. I don't expect that any actual blame for the IRS scandal will be placed on Lois Lerner or that she will suffer any consequences. She has already shielded herself by saying it was the fault of low-level employees. But, I do not believe they acted on their own.

Earlier this month (as Reported by USA Today on May 10, 2013) the Internal Revenue Service apologized for subjecting Tea Party groups to additional scrutiny during the 2012 election, but denied any political motive. Lois Lerner, who heads the IRS unit that oversees tax-exempt groups, said organizations that included the words "tea party" or "patriot" in their applications for tax-exempt status were singled out for additional reviews.[...]

Lerner said the practice, initiated by low-level workers [...} was wrong. "It was an error in judgment, and it was not appropriate, but that's what they did," Lerner told reporters. She declined to talk about how many employees were involved and whether there would be disciplinary action. "I think they were insensitive, or less sensitive than they should have been."[...]

Lerner said she had never discussed the issue with Treasury or White House officials and could not say whether they knew of the problems before her apology. She said her focus had been on fixing the problem.

Obama Knew Nothing - Benghazi Memo, IRS Scandal or AP Records Seizure?

Either Democrat or Republican...anyone who is informed about the scandals within the Obama administration should be outraged. Four people died in Benghazi and the administration lied to the American people, the IRS targeted people and organizations based on their political affiliations, and the Department of Justice secretly obtained two months of telephone records of reporters and editors of the Associated Press. Will the majority of voters remember these scandals when they vote in the 2014 midterm elections to decide which party should have control of the Senate and House? I certainly hope so.

Pelosi: GOP Focusing On Scandals Because Obama Is a Great President

The Washington Examiner -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., charged Republicans with “exploiting” the questions surrounding the Benghazi talking points, the AP phone records seizure and the IRS scandal to attack President Obama because “they fear” his agenda and eloquence.

“This president — they make so much of these issues because this president is such a great president,” Pelosi told reporters during her weekly press briefing. “They will use talking points on Benghazi, they will use the IRS, they will use AP, as, I think, subterfuges — evasions — of what the American people want us to do.”

Pelosi said that Republicans need scandals because they are over-matched by the “visionary” Obama. “He has a knowledge of our country and the concerns of the American people as of what plan we should go forward with to strengthen the middle class, and he has an eloquence to communicate that message,” she said of Republicans. “They fear that.”

Blog author's comments - It is difficult to comprehend that Pelosi actually believes what she said. No Nancy, it is not because he is a great's because he is the worst and most corrupt president ever. And he has amassed an administration that is just like him. Only in California could someone like Pelosi continue to be elected.

The DOJ broke the law and obtained telephone records of reporters for the Associated Press. The IRS pursued people because of their political association. And in Benghazi four Americans died and the Obama administration lied to the American people. She's right about one thing--they do fear his agenda. Anybody with any love of this country and what it represents fears his agenda.

Owner Daniel Snyder Says Redskins Will Never Change Name

Daniel Snyder is owner of the Washington pro football team he grew up adoring. Would he ever consider changing the team name that many American Indians and others believe is a racial slur?

"We will never change the name of the team," Snyder told USA TODAY Sports this week. "As a lifelong Redskins fan, and I think that the Redskins fans understand the great tradition and what it's all about and what it means, so we feel pretty fortunate to be just working on next season."

What if his football team loses an ongoing federal trademark lawsuit? Would he consider changing it then?

"We'll never change the name," he said. "It's that simple. NEVER — you can use caps."

Snyder does not often speak to the media about the case. He talked to USA TODAY Sports very briefly about it Tuesday afternoon, following a longer interview with him and his wife Tanya about her selection as mother of the year by the American Cancer Society.

Later Thursday, USA TODAY Sports will publish a story about Amanda Blackhorse, who is Navajo and the named plaintiff in the trademark suit. She said if she ever had the chance, she'd ask Snyder if he would dare to call her a redskin to her face.

"I think the best way is to just not comment on that type of stuff," Snyder said. "I don't know her."
Blog author's comments - Finally, someone tells the PC liberals no. It would be interesting to know just how many American Indians dislike the Redskins name and are offended by it. Thank you Mr. Snyder for stopping at least one little piece of the PC nonsense.

Dan Rather: Obama's Opponents Want To 'Cut His Heart Out'

The Blaze -- Former CBS News anchor Dan Rather said Sunday that President Barack Obama’s opponents want to politically “cut his heart out and throw his liver to the dogs.”

Rather’s descriptive analysis came during “The Chris Matthews Show” on NBC. Obama has been on a so-called “charm offensive” to try to foster better relations with Republicans.

“All of these things we’ve said about what the president could do, should do, might have, could have, but the central thing to keep in mind is his opponents — you talk about taking them out to dinner, making nice with them — these people politically want to cut his heart out and throw his liver to the dogs. That does make it very, very difficult to come on nice to them,” Rather said.

“Yeah, it causes indigestion over dinner don’t you think?” Matthews cracked.

Blog author's comments - Rather is being just a bit extreme. All that many Americans wanted from Barack Obama was for him to function as the president of the United States. To live up to the pledge he took to honor the Constitution and Bill of Rights. We want someone who will tell the truth, to stop blaming everyone else for the destruction he and his administration have caused.

I am surprised Dan Rather is still around. But, no one should be surprised by what he said; it was the Chris Mathews show. Rather gave them what they wanted. Obama does not want to work with the Republicans. As long as they control the House and do not give him whatever he wants he blames them for his failings. The GOP definitely needs to retain the House in the 2014 midterm elections.

Biden Planning a New Gun Control Plan - Has Not Told the President

Politico -- Vice President Joe Biden is planning a new gun control offensive – he just hasn’t told the president yet.

Biden told a group of law enforcement officials Thursday that he is planning even more travel, with trips around the country to stump for a renewed push on expanded background checks and gun-trafficking laws that failed to pass the Senate last month.

But Biden volunteered that he “hasn’t really discussed” his plans with Obama and plans to lead the gun control charge on his own, according to two law enforcement officials who attended the meeting. The 90-minute meeting in Biden’s office was an attempt to move forward after the failed effort on background checks.

Vice President Joe Biden is planning a new gun control offensive – one he told a group of law enforcement officials he hasn’t informed President Barack Obama about yet.

Biden will appear Friday night at a South Carolina Democratic dinner that’s his first stop in a key 2016 primary state. He told the law enforcement officials Thursday that he is planning even more travel, with trips around the country to stump for a renewed push on expanded background checks and gun-trafficking laws that failed to pass the Senate last month.

The vice president rattled off poll numbers for senators the White House and its gun control allies think they can win over, and said he’ll lead the effort to tweak legislation to give recalcitrant senators the cover to vote for expanded background checks.

But Biden volunteered that he “hasn’t really discussed” his plans with Obama and plans to lead the gun control charge, according to a person who attended the meeting. Another law enforcement official who was present confirmed this account.

“He was talking like he was going to be leading it,” a person who was at the meeting said. “He didn’t mention any other senators in terms of leading the charge.”[...]

The meeting in Biden’s ceremonial office followed a similar session last week for leading gun control groups. Like that meeting, Thursday’s gathering focused more on what will happen next than what mistakes led to the failure of the background checks bill offered by Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.).

“His candid request was for us to tell him what can be done differently,” said Jon Adler, national president of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association. “His sense was not to go back to the drawing board with the same thing that just lost.”

Adler added: “You bet on a horse and lose, you’re not going to bet on the same exact horse in the same race.”

People who attended the meeting also said Biden agreed with a characterization that the White House and gun control allies failed to properly educate the public about what was in the Manchin-Toomey bill.

Entire column...
Blog author's comments - Biden hasn't discussed this with Obama? I don't believe it. Perhaps Biden is taking the lead on this "new gun control offensive" because if it is defeated the second time Obama doesn't want to appear be near it. Obama would much rather the voters see Biden fail instead of himself.

Biden hasn't listened to the American people and also the Democrat Senators who are up for reelection in 2014. I'm sure he sees a win on gun control as possible help for him to win the nomination for president in 2016 but I don't think that will happen.

The Obama plan was for the gun control bills to pass in the Senate and fail in the house so the Democrats could blame the Republicans prior to the 2014 elections. This is the reason they may want to give the gun control bills another try.

Joe Biden to all women: All you need is a double barrel shotgun to protect yourself
