Washington Post -- Credit-card fraud can strike anyone, anywhere. Ask Chief Justice John Roberts.
Roberts usually uses a credit card to buy his morning coffee at his local Starbucks in suburban Maryland.
But on Tuesday, when he needed to be extra sharp for the arguments that day over California’s ban of same-sex marriage, he had to pay in cash.
Seems someone had gotten his credit-card numbers, he told the cashier, and he was obliged to cancel the card.
Blog author's comments - The Conservative fraud is a victim of credit card fraud. I have lost all respect for Justice John Roberts. He had the future of the U.S. medical care system in his hands, to make or break. He chose to break it. I doubt he has lost any sleep over what he did. His ruling was based on politics and not the law.
Many conservatives are still trying to figure out why Supreme Court Justice Roberts voted with the four liberal Justices on the Court 5-4 to uphold the constitutionality of the most controversial part of Obamacare. The Obamacare individual mandate requires all Americans to purchase health insurance by 2014 or pay a monetary penalty.
The majority decision, written by Roberts, characterizes the mandate as a tax permissible under the constitution's Tax Clause. The Obamacare law does not even refer to its mandate as a tax. Obama declared in 2009 that his health care law was not a tax.

NRA (By Wayne LaPierre) -- Across this nation, gun stores are virtually empty. There is simply no ammunition to be had. Backorders are running into the late Fall or next year, or maybe never. Gun sales are higher than at any time in history: more than one million in one month. And first-time gun buyers are exercising their right to keep and bear arms in unprecedented numbers.
All of this adds up to a massive civil rights protest the likes of which America has not seen before.
It is political spontaneous combustion. And I guarantee what we are seeing at the cash box will be repeated at the ballot box in 2014 if Congress votes for any gun control.
In all my years fighting the battle to preserve the Second Amendment, I have never seen a mass protest of this magnitude. As Americans learn more about the threat to their rights and freedom, it will continue to grow.
Politicians had better wake up to what it means for them in every corner of the nation. The men and women exercising freedom in this consumer-driven protest cross every personal political boundary and represent every walk of life.
And, yes, they are motivated by a palpable and very well-founded fear of what President Barack Obama’s government and the likes of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein and self-appointed gun-ban nanny, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, have in store for free, peaceable Americans.
Feinstein has introduced a presumptive ban on virtually all semi-auto rifles and shotguns with detachable magazines.
The New York law passed and pushed by Gov. Cuomo is worse. The news media called Cuomo’s massive ban “a good first step.” That’s what they will say about his next step. “Confiscation is not off the table,” he bragged.
Bloomberg is bankrolling huge propaganda efforts to convince Americans that he loves the Second Amendment while disarming law-abiding citizens across the nation. Even Bloomberg admits none of these laws would have prevented the massacre at Sandy Hook because, “there are too many guns.” He says he doesn’t want guns in schools carried by cops or trained guards. He doesn’t even want NYPD cops to take their guns home.
And Barack Obama is the worst. His administration promised “revenge” and he is delivering it—for starters in the form of 23 “executive” sneak attacks on our freedom—actions he claims have the force of laws. Orders so bad, they would never clear any Congress.
This is what is driving the consumer civil rights protest.
Blog author's comments - Many gun owners knew that an Obama second term would bring an attack on their Second Amendment rights. After the election came the tragic killings at the Sandy Hook School in Newtown, Connecticut. This gave Obama and the Democrats, with help from the leftist media, the opportunity they wanted to wage an attack on the Second Amendment and the attempt to pass new gun control laws. We shall see what the Senate and the House does with the gun control bills which they will soon vote on. No matter how the Senators and House Representatives vote there will always be an ongoing battle for legal gun owners to retain their rights.

Huffington Post -- The National Rifle Association chief Wayne LaPierre said Sunday that New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has an "insane" approach to gun control, telling NBC's "Meet the Press" that universal background checks for gun buyers are a "dishonest premise."
"Criminals aren't going to be checked, they're not going to do this," LaPierre said, calling background checks a "speed bump for the law abiding."
Bloomberg, an advocate of stricter gun control, has given millions of dollars toward tighter regulation through Mayors Against Illegal Guns. He supports universal background checks, as well as a ban on assault weapons and an upgraded gun-tracking system -- all measures the NRA opposes.
LaPierre said that a list making it easier to track weapons used at crime scenes would be abused. "Our names are going to be in the system, there is going to be a list created, the list will be abused," he said, sounding concerns over privacy for gun owners. "Some newspaper will print it off, somebody will hack it, there will be a registry."
Lapierre said a better solution to gun violence is to focus on things like mental health services and arming school employees, saying "90 percent of school administrators, 90 percent say that armed security, police officers in schools, make those schools safer. Not a mom or dad wants to drop their kid off at school and leave their kids unprotected."
"Yes, we were right. And we're right that the mental health system needs to be fixed," he said of the NRA. "We want to do the real things that make people safe. What's appalled me about this whole debate is about how little it has to do with making people safe."
Blog author's comments - The NRA is standing strong in support of our Second Amendment rights...if you are not a member join now. Wayne LaPierre is correct. Criminals don't do background checks. Nor will a criminal abide by any new or current gun laws. Why not concentrate efforts on criminals with guns and the mentally ill?
Michael Bloomberg is a liberal with money. He enjoys the power which he has as the Mayor of New York. He does have an 'insane' approach to gun control and many other things. He is the typical Democrat who believes they know what is best for the rest of America and he will continue his crusade against guns. Obama and the Democrats love him, helping them do the work they want to accomplish.
The Democrats would rather demonize the NRA and every Republican idea than listen to reason. If Bloomberg, Obama and Feinstein had their way all guns would be confiscated. Since Gov. Cuomo passed his law in New York taking the maximum number of bullets in a magazine from 10 to 7, I wonder if Bloomberg's bodyguards carry only 7 rounds in the magazines of their guns...I don't think so.

CNS News -- Including Sheriff John Cooke of Weld County, Colorado, 340 sheriffs have publicly stated they will not enforce gun laws they believe are unconstitutional.
In response to the passage of two new gun control bills in Colorado last week, Sheriff John Cooke told the Greeley Tribune that he "won't bother enforcing the laws."
One bill requires gun buyers to pay for their own background checks, a service that was previously free and now estimated to cost the buyer $10-$12 per purchase. The second bill puts a 15-round limit on magazines.
Cooke says of the new laws: "They're feel-good, knee-jerk reactions that are unenforceable."
Governor John Hickenlooper is expected to sign each bill into law this week.
Cooke is part of a growing list of sheriffs that have vowed to uphold the Constitution against gun control measures.
The Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association (CSPOA) has a running tally of all the sheriffs across the nation that have joined together to defend the Constitution.
At the time of this post, there are 15 sheriffs associations, 340 sheriffs, one police chief and one deputy sheriff who have stated they will not enforce any new gun laws.
Blog author's comments - Good news, I want to see the list of sheriffs and peace officers across the country who defend the Constitution continue to grow. The criminals will always have their guns and the law-abiding citizens have every right to defend themselves. But, the Obama Administration will continue in their attempt to make a huge dent in our Second Amendment rights.

Fox News -- Salmonella outbreaks. E. coli outbreaks. Millions of dollars in economic losses.
These are among the scenarios the Obama administration warned about last month as it claimed the sequester would force the U.S. Department of Agriculture to furlough meat inspectors.
But while the administration prepares to take that step, it continues to pursue a "partnership" with the Mexican government to "raise awareness" about food stamps among immigrants from that country. When a top Senate Republican proposed cutting off funds for that program last week -- in the form of an amendment to a budget resolution -- Democrats on the Budget Committee shot it down.
It's hard to put a firm price on the cost of the partnership, which was launched under the George W. Bush administration. But an aide to Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., who has railed against the partnership for months, said it could easily be in the millions. Since 2004, the program has blossomed to include dozens of meetings and conferences and health fairs with Mexican officials -- all of which cost money, not to mention the cost to the food stamp program of new enrollees brought in as a result of this partnership.
Sessions, in a statement to FoxNews.com, said he believes the public will eventually demand an end to the program, though the Senate Budget Committee allowed it to continue in the vote last week.[...]
Meanwhile, the USDA continues to press forward with plans to furlough meat inspectors, describing it as a necessity of the sequester.
Blog author's comments - Because of the Sequester Obama released thousands of illegal immigrant prisoners who were in detention awaiting deportation. We can't afford to incarcerate the criminal illegals, but apparently we can afford to feed a huge number of Mexican immigrants. We may as well just forget about the border and put up a big 'Welcome Amigos' sign in Spanish with instructions on how to get their free stuff. The funds for this program should be cut off and I would hope the American people would support the cut by a huge majority. The House should refuse to fund this and make sure the public knows why.
The partnership — which was signed by former USDA Secretary Ann M. Veneman and Mexican Secretary of Foreign Affairs Luis Ernesto Derbez Bautista in 2004 — sees to it that the Mexican Embassy and Mexican consulates in America provide USDA nutrition assistance program information to Mexican Americans, Mexican nationals working in America and migrant communities in America.

Blog author's comments - Wayne LaPierre, Executive Vice-President and CEO of the National Rifle Association (NRA), has a message for Vice-President Joe Biden: ‘You keep your advice, we’ll keep our guns.”
Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), LaPierre criticized Biden’s advice on gun-control, namely his suggestions to women who may find themselves in a life-and-death situation.
LaPierre used the example of Vice-President Joe Biden telling women to shoot two shotgun blasts into the air should they be attacked.
“Honestly, have they lost their minds over at the White house?,” Lapierre asked.

Chicago FOX 32 News -- City Council will consider stricter gun laws in Chicago on Wednesday, one day after a 6-month-old baby girl was shot five times while her father changed her diaper – she did not survive.
Jonylah Watkins' father, Jonathan, was changing her in their parked minivan near 65th and Maryland on Monday afternoon. He was also shot multiple times.
Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said in a press conference Tuesday that Jonathan Watkins is most likely the intended target. McCarthy acknowledged the father has an extensive criminal history, and a police source said Watkins has more than 30 prior arrests.
Police sources told FOX 32 News that he also has gang ties. They have stepped up presence in Woodlawn, in case of retaliation.
Community leader Pastor Corey Brooks spoke on behalf of the baby's mother and family outside the hospital Tuesday, and initially offered a reward of $5,000 for information leading to an arrest. That amount has since gone up to $15,000 thanks to other contributions.
Mayor Emanuel, McCarthy and community leaders all said it's a priority to find the gunman who shot and killed Jonylah, and her death is likely to come up as they discuss a new ordinance that would crack down on offenders who use guns to commit violent crimes.
Blog author's comments - "City Council will consider stricter gun laws in Chicago." So the reason the child was killed was the guns not gang members? Chicago is already supposed to have some of the toughest gun laws in the country. More gun laws will not stop the criminals in Chicago or anywhere else.
There is a political correctness element to this. Most urban gangs are populated by young Black (or Hispanic) males. Folks on the Left are constantly complaining about high incarceration rates for Black men, and how the police target Black men unfairly. So then where is the motivation for law enforcement to concentrate their efforts on cleaning these gangs out?
In many Black urban communities belonging to a gang is a rite of passage. So, if the cities are ever going to fix the gang problem in America, Black leaders are going to have to take an active role. A good first step would be to stop blaming White racism for every problem that they have. That attitude only makes the problem worse.
"The father has an extensive criminal history, and a police source said Watkins has more than 30 prior arrests." Why is he free to walk the streets?

Breitbart -- Mark E. Kelly, gun-control proponent and husband to former Congressman Gabby Giffords, recently purchased and AR-15 (an "assault weapon," he called it) which he now says he intended as an illustration of the need for more stringent gun laws.
Kelly reportedly bought the AR-15 and a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol at Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson, Arizona.
Various sources contacted Breitbart News once Kelly made the purchase, and after we began investigating the details surrounding the purchase, Kelly announced on his Facebook that he was not going to keep the AR-15, which he has yet to pick up from the store.
Days after making the purchases, Kelly wrote on Facebook:
I just had a background check a few days ago when I went to my local gun store to buy a .45. As I was leaving, I noticed a used AR-15. Bought that too. Even to buy an assault weapon, the background check only takes a matter of minutes. I don't have possession of it yet but I'll be turning it over to the Tucson PD when I do.
In February, Kelly told Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace that lawmakers need to address "assault weapons." He said the purpose of an "assault weapon" is "to kill a lot of people very quickly," and he lamented that such products were "too readily available."
Kelly has not commented on whether he will also return the .45 caliber semi-automatic pistol he purchased.
Blog author's comments - The problem I have is Kelly's hypocrisy. During the past few weeks, we have seen Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly using the emotion that comes from her 2011 shooting in Tucson, Arizona to call for something to be done to help stop gun violence, and according to Kelly that is the ban of "assault weapons."
He has campaigned about how these guns and magazines should be outlawed, and nobody needs this much firepower, etc. So, he's urging Congress to stop you from protecting yourself, while then going out and getting the guns for himself.
I don't believe he purchased those guns with the intent of turning them in to the police department. After he was caught he had to come up with a story. Most of us know if a convicted felon wants to acquire a firearm, they always manage to do so. The gun bills which will soon be voted upon by Congress...if passed will only have an affect on the law-abiding citizens.

FSN (Tallahasse, Fla.) -- A mandatory anger management program before you can buy ammunition? That's what one Florida lawmaker who represents part of Duval County wants to see happen.
State Senator Audrey Gibson, a Democrat representing District 9, said she is surprised at the reaction the bill she filed Friday is getting. She intended the bill to reduce anger not cause anger, but she says her office has gotten phone calls not only from Floridians but even some from out of state.
Bill 1678 is two-fold. It would require a three day waiting period for the sale of any firearm, but what is stirring the most controversy is a requirement that would make it a crime to buy ammunition unless you presented a certificate showing you completed a minimum two hour anger management program either online or face to face. If it becomes law, you would be required to renew the certification every 10 years.
Senator Gibson says the shooting death of Jacksonville teen Jordan Davis, who police say was shot after an argument that started over loud music, is what triggered her to file this bill.
"It's just to get people to take a pause before they buy any ammunition," said Sen. Gibson. "It helps people be introspective and make sure they even know for themselves what are the triggers, what are things maybe that really upset me and how do I respond to that? Do I grab my gun to shoot somebody because I'm upset about something? How much ammo do I need stockpiled in my garage or that spare bedroom in my house?"
The owner of St. Nicholas Gun and Sporting Goods store in Jacksonville said if the bill is passed it would likely slow down his business, he thinks it would lead to ammunition being sold on the black market.
"It's the stupidest bill I have ever heard. It's absolutely ridiculous. It's not going to help anybody. Most people get angry they don't go out and shoot anybody. It's common sense," said Paul Rukab.
Blog author's comments - I do believe the Democrats compete against each other on who can propose the most ridiculous anti-gun legislation. While Gibson claims that her Bill is not “accusatory” toward gun and ammunition owners and that she is just out to protect her community, the executive director of Florida Carry, Sean Caranna, said, “When I first saw it, I thought it had to be a joke. They’re trying to say that anyone who owns a gun or shoots a gun or has ammunition for it needs counseling and obviously has some anger problems.”
More new laws and bans on guns and ammunition will not stop the criminals or the mentally ill. They will find a way to accomplish what they want to do. What the government should do is enforce the laws which we already have. The anti-gun Democratic Party lawmakers in some states and in Washington want more control over us.

Washington (AP) -- The Associated Press has learned that the U.S. Homeland Security Department released more than 2,000 illegal immigrants facing deportation from immigration jails in recent weeks because of looming budget cuts. It also planned to release 3,000 more during March.
The newly disclosed figures, cited in internal government budget documents reviewed by the AP, are significantly higher than what the Obama administration acknowledged this week as a "few hundred" illegal immigrants who were released under the budget-savings process.
The budget documents show that Immigrations and Customs Enforcement released roughly 1,000 illegal immigrants from its jails around the U.S. each week since at least Feb. 15. The agency's field offices have reported more than 2,000 released before intense criticism this week led to a temporary shutdown of the plan.
Blog author's comments - Obama is using the sequester cuts as an excuse to do as much harm as he can and will, of course, blame the Republican Party. The Obama administration does not arrest illegal immigrants who are minding their own business. Every one of the illegals who were released from custody should be considered a danger to the communities. The low-information voters who gave Obama a second term do not know or understand what Obama is doing; he said he wanted to fundamentally change the country.
