ACLU Pushes For Another Cross To Be Taken Down

53-Year-Old Cross To Be Torn Down, Thanks To ACLU -- In 1959, the Middleboro Kiwanis Club in Massachusetts put up a large cross that said "WORSHIP" on it on a traffic island off one of the local freeways. It stood for 53 years. then, a liberal lawyer spotted it.

Now, the state may have to tear it down.

According to CBS Local, the cross “sits mostly on town land. The state owns a small fraction of the traffic island where it is located, and thus, the ACLU says, the cross violates church and state separation laws.”

The ACLU suggests that the island be opened up to all religious displays or that the cross be torn down or moved. The Kiwanis Club itself is not a religious institution.

Blog author's comments - Its amazing the cross remained as long as it has without some liberal making a big deal about it. The ACLU, like all the rest of the “rights” organizations, has mutated into nothing but a left-wing pressure group.

It is quite a shame that one person's views and opinions can overwrite the opinions and feelings of the majority. Unfortunately, many cities and towns are not in a financial position that allows them to take on a legal fight in these situations.

We have so many liberals making demands of those who don't agree with them. And the non-liberals who don't agree are portrayed as the enemy by the Democratic Party, the ACLU and of course most of the media. I cannot see this changing; only becoming worse.

AG Eric Holder Will Instruct Blacks How To Vote

Holder to brief black pastors on campaign 2012

Washington Examiner -- Attorney General Eric Holder, the IRS, and the liberal lawyers at the ACLU will brief several hundred pastors in the African American community on how to participate in the presidential election -- which the Congressional Black Caucus chair expects will help President Obama's campaign.

"We will have representatives from nine denominations who actually pastor somewhere in the neighborhood of about 10 million people, and we're going to first of all equip them with the information they need to know about what they can say and what they cannot say in the church that would violate their 501c3 status with the IRS," Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., told MSNBC today.

"In fact, we're going to have the IRS administrator there, we're going to have the Attorney General Eric Holder there, we're going to have the lawyers' organization from around the country, the ACLU -- all giving ministers guidance about what they can and cannot do," he noted.

Cleaver said they would not tell pastors which candidate to support. They will let them know who to regard as the bad guys, though (hint: not Democrats). "We're going to talk about some of the draconian laws that have cropped up around the country as a result of the 17 percent increase in African American votes," Cleaver said, describing voter ID laws as a form of Jim Crow-style "poll tax" on seniors and black voters.

Blog author's comments - This is yet one more new low by this administration – this cannot be entirely legal. Cleaver said "they would not tell pastors which candidate to support. They will let them know who to regard as the good guys, though (hint: not Republicans)."

What about the separation of church and state? Obama and company must fear that many blacks won’t turn out for him on Election Day. Organizing blacks to vote for Obama in 2008 wasn’t necessary -- at all. But now Obama has a record he must attempt to defend.

I would like to see Paul Ryan give a speech to hundreds of white pastors about how and why to vote against Obama. Let's see how well that goes over with the Democrats and the DOJ. What kind of government do we have running the country? It’s unlike any I’ve studied.

Why would Holder need to instruct pastors in how to propagandize to their parishioners who are already locked in as supporters? Perhaps he knows at least some of those people are not buying what Obama has done during his first and hopefully only term.

Malcolm X Elementary School - Has Trayvon Martin Day

Trayvon Martin Day declared at D.C. elementary school

WJLA -- In an effort to better educate students and their parents about race relations and social injustice, a D.C. elementary school has declared Friday “Trayvon Martin Day.”

Teachers at Malcolm X Elementary in Southeast are using the unfolding case and the story surrounding Martin as part of their "Let's Keep Our Children Safe" seminar.

Malcolm X Elementary Principal J. Harrison Coleman says that she hopes the lesson will help reduce the needless violence and bullying in the community.

"The children at Malcolm X know the name Trayvon Martin," Coleman said. "They know the incident. They know because of what they see in the news and what they experience every day."

The staff here hopes this day makes the students at Malcolm X understand that someone always cares. Coleman specifically is calling on more parents to volunteer and get involved.

Blog author's comments - A Trayvon Martin Day. Not a good lesson for the kids - how to rush to judgment without all the facts.

How do the Malcolm X Elementary school students compare with the rest of the US? I do think we can tell from the information in this link.

With scores that low I believe the principal and teachers should be concentrating on the core academic subjects needed to increase the children's chances for a good education.

Obama - Critical of Romney For Being a Successful Business Man

Obama: Romney has 'drawn the wrong lessons' from Bain tenure

The Hill -- President Obama continued to hammer Mitt Romney on the campaign trail Wednesday, saying the likely GOP nominee had "drawn the wrong lessons" from his work at private-equity firm Bain Capital.

"My opponent in this election, Gov. Romney, is a patriotic American. He's raised a wonderful family. He should be proud of the great personal success he's had as the CEO of a large financial firm. But I think he’s drawn the wrong lessons from his experience,” said Obama at fundraiser in Denver. “His working assumption is CEOs and wealthy investors like him get rich, then the rest of us automatically will, too."

The Obama campaign has been leveling continued attacks on Romney's tenure at Bain, accusing the former CEO of maximizing profits at the expense of workers and communities.

Blog author's comments - Is Obama ripping Romney because of his success with Bain Capital - and all business owners for being profitable? If Obama by chance loses the election in November businesses should begin to spend their money to grow their companies and with that comes the hiring of more employees.

Prior to the election of 2008 Obama told all of us he would raise taxes on the rich and businesses. After hearing that...businesses pulled back and began to downsize. They did not spend their money to grow their companies because of uncertainties about what Obama was going to do. This is one of the problems which brought us the economy we have and high unemployment.

This election will be entertaining – someone who has achieved nothing outside of government against someone who has been highly successful without government. The economy will never improve as long as Obama is in the White House

Obama - Has Raised $1 Billion During His Political Career

Obama tops $1 billion in career political contributions

Daily Caller -- President Barack Obama has become the first political $1 billion man.

He’s the first politician to take in that stratospheric number in donations during his political career, according to data collected by the Center for Responsive Politics.

His total take reached $1,017,892,305 in April, some nine years after he began his 2004 race for the Senate. Obama is widely expected to raise at least $300 million more before November.

President George W. Bush, in contrast, raised roughly $430 million despite running two complete presidential races and bearing the brunt of Democrats’ claims that he was a pawn of bankers, oil companies, coal magnates and defense contractors.

Bog author's comments - For someone who despises the vile capitalists and the evil 1% -- he sure knows how to work them. Since Obama assumed office, he has thrown our money at any problem he faced and also campaigned...non-stop.

No one should take this lightly because he is going to have the finest propaganda machine money can buy to bombard the airwaves. It still boggles the mind. How can so many Americans donate cash towards their own destruction? The U.S.A. is going down the toilet under Obama's watch and many seem as if this is the path they want to follow. If Obama does in fact win a second term America may be doomed.

Nancy Pelosi - Has Street Renamed After Her

San Francisco to rename street after Pelosi

Washington Examiner -- San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee will rename a street after former-Speaker Nancy Pelosi today in Golden Gate Park.

"Middle Drive East" which connects Martin Luthjer King Jr. Drive and John F Kennedy Drive in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park will now be renamed in honor of Pelosi and her 25 years of service in Congress.

San Francisco is the second city to name a street after Pelosi. Baltimore, her home town, renamed a street in her honor in January 2007 shortly after she was elected Speaker of the House.

Blog author's comments - This was done because she is such a loyal liberal Democrat who agrees with everything Obama says and does. I just don't ever want her renamed Speaker of the House.

Obama Funded Solar Energy Company - Creates Jobs Overseas

'Your're Not An American Company'

Washington Free Beacon -- The chairman of First Solar, a company that received approximately $3.1 billion in federal loan guarantees under President Obama’s green energy initiative, said Wednesday that the majority of the jobs created by the company have been overseas.

Speaking at a hearing of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, First Solar chairman Michael Ahearn admitted that most of the company’s full-time jobs are held overseas.

“In sheer numbers, most of our full-time employees are outside the U.S,” Ahearns said.

“It sounds like you’re not an American company,” said committee chairman Darrell Issa (R., Calif.). “You simply have a small presence in Ohio and Arizona.”

Issa stated figures showing First Solar employed 560 workers in Germany, 1680 in Malaysia, and 280 in Ohio.

Blog author's comments - Is anyone surprised? I hope Romney’s Election Team is paying attention! The ads are writing themselves. Obama is and has been throwing taxpayer dollars to 'green' energy companies and most of them are dismal failures.

At present and for many decades into the future oil, natural gas and coal will be needed to supply America's energy needs. This is why we should be drilling in our country and off shore. The oil is there, but it will take time before we are able to use it. The first thing which must be done is the construction of the Keystone pipeline from Canada.

The United States gets 84% of its total energy from oil, coal, and natural gas. We depend on fossil fuels to heat our homes, run our vehicles, power industry and manufacturing, and provide us with electricity. Certainly other energy sources should be developed for future use, but not the way Obama is attempting to do it.

Perhaps if Romney can pull out a win in November, many things will begin to change. Electing a Republican is not a sure fix for our problems, but it most certainly beats the alternative of having Obama in the White House for another four years.

It's time for U.S. to OK new pipeline

The Trayvon Martin - George Zimmerman Saga Continues

Autopsy results show Trayvon Martin had injuries to his knuckles

SANFORD, Fla. -- WFTV has confirmed that autopsy results show 17-year-old Trayvon Martin had injuries to his knuckles when he died.

The information could support George Zimmerman's claim that Martin beat him up before Zimmerman shot and killed him.

The autopsy results come as Zimmerman's attorney, Mark O’Mara continues to go over other evidence in the case.

O’Mara wouldn't comment on the autopsy evidence, but WFTV legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said it's better for the defense than it is for the prosecution.

WFTV has learned that the medical examiner found two injuries on Martin’s body: The fatal gunshot wound and broken skin on his knuckles.

When you compare Trayvon’s non-fatal injury with Zimmerman's bloody head wounds, the autopsy evidence is better for the defense, Sheaffer said.

“It goes along with Zimmerman's story that he acted in self-defense, because he was getting beaten up by Trayvon Martin." Sheaffer said.

The injury to Martin’s knuckle also fits with Zimmerman's story that before he shot and killed Martin, Martin had broken his nose and knocked him to the ground, slamming his head on the sidewalk.

Blog author's comments - This case has become a mainstream media circus, with help from the usual 'race baiters'. I also believe what helped fuel the fire was President Obama's comment when he said "if I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon."

The special prosecutor in Sanford Fla. did not give this case to a grand jury. This could be because she may have thought they would have come back with no charge or a much lesser charge than what Zimmerman now faces.

She made sure with the evidence she had, that he would go to trial by charging him with second degree murder. Now the FBI is also investigating the incident and death of Martin as a 'hate crime.'

If George Zimmerman completely controlled the encounter as part of a premeditated act of aggression, then how does the prosecution explain the injuries to Zimmerman? Why would a person surrender control to someone they intended to harm? As soon as Zimmerman loses control of the situation, doesn’t he find himself in real danger?

Zimmerman said he used deadly force in self-defense after Martin punched him knocked him to the ground and slammed his head against a sidewalk.

Zimmerman now finds himself in a no-win situation. Even if he is found not guilty, which is highly unlikely, he will forever be looking over his shoulder.

Obama - With Yet Another Stimulus Plan

Obama pushes billion-dollar stimulus plan

Washington Times -- Putting pressure on Congress to approve parts of his latest economic stimulus plan, President Obama urged Americans Saturday to push lawmakers to approve his multibillion-dollar “to-do list” for creating jobs.

“Each of the ideas on this list will help create jobs and build a stronger economy right now,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address. “Let’s push Congress to do the right thing. Let’s keep moving this country forward together.”

The president’s list includes an expanded program to help homeowners refinance their mortgages, a proposal to give small businesses tax breaks for hiring more workers, a program that would help veterans find jobs, and an extension of tax credits for clean-energy companies.

He lobbied for the refinancing plan Friday in a speech in Reno, Nev. – a state that ranks second in the nation in mortgage foreclosures.

All told, the proposals on the president’s list could cost up to $34.7 billion: They are part of a more comprehensive $447 billion jobs package that Congress mostly has resisted.

Mr. Obama didn’t discuss in his address the cost of his proposals or how to pay for them. The refinancing plan, for example, would likely include a fee charged to homeowners.

Blog author's comments - Another stimulus plan because the first one was such a success? And when it goes down in flames Obama will blame obstructionists Republicans, this is his strategy. Too bad that most of the voters cannot understand how much more deeply in debt we would be if the Democrats still had control of the House as they did during Obama's first two years in office.

President Obama - good luck on getting the House to work on this insanity. And many of your Dems in the Senate are no doubt, having second thoughts because of re-election. He knows this will never pass. He is just posturing for his base.

Obama is a disgusting little man. Same stuff different day, nothing new here. Obama is out of ideas so he will continue to play his blame the GOP game. At the top of my political to-do list is to vote Obama out of office in November.

House Democrats Received Training to Make Race The Issue

House Dems trained to make race the issue

Washington Examiner -- House Democrats received training this week on how to address the issue of race to defend government programs, according to training materials obtained by The Washington Examiner.

The prepared content of a Tuesday presentation to the House Democratic Caucus and staff indicates that Democrats will seek to portray apparently neutral free-market rhetoric as being charged with racial bias, conscious or unconscious.

In her distributed remarks, Maya Wiley of the Center for Social Inclusion criticized "conservative messages [that are] racially 'coded' and had images of people of color that we commonly see used" and proposed tactics for countering the Republicans' (presumably) racially-coded rhetoric.

According to Wiley's group's website, "right-wing rhetoric has dominated debates of racial justice – undermining efforts to create a more equal society, and tearing apart the social safety net in the process" for over 25 years. Wiley had been invited to run the Democrats "through their strategy and how they message and talk about stuff" pertaining to race and fiscal policy, a staffer for Rep. Barbara Lee, D-Calif., explained.

Blog author's comments - Is more training required? They do seem quite adept at accusing the right of racism. This was not a training course. It was a strategy and coordination meeting.

Why do the Democrats need to learn more about playing the race card, they have been using it very well for years. Next week they will probably be tutored in the art of class warfare, but this would also be a waste of time...most Democrats also know how to use this to their advantage.

The Obama administration, the entire Democratic Party and the liberal main stream media will all do everything possible to win a second term for Obama. Our country may never recover if he is reelected President.

DOJ Sues Sheriff Arpaio - Accuses Sheriff of Civil Rights Violations

Justice sues Ariz. sheriff Joe Arpaio, saying he violated Hispanics' rights

Washington Post -- For years, the Justice Department has investigated Sheriff Joe Arpaio of Arizona. In December, the department accused Arpaio of violating the civil rights of Hispanics since at least 2006 by unlawfully stopping, detaining and arresting them. Then, for months, Justice officials tried to negotiate a settlement aimed at correcting the violations. When negotiations fell through, the department threatened to sue.[...]

The standoff came to a head Thursday when the Justice Department announced it had sued Arpaio, his office and Maricopa County for civil rights violations, including what it says is the long-standing racial profiling of Latinos.

Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Thomas E. Perez said he was “left with no choice.”

“At its core, this is an abuse of power case involving Sheriff Arpaio and a sheriff’s office that disregarded the Constitution, ignored sound police practices and did not hesitate to retaliate against perceived critics in a variety of unlawful ways,” Perez said at a press conference in Phoenix .

The lawsuit against Arpaio and Maricopa County in an election year ratchets up the department’s battle with the states over civil rights, voting rights and immigration laws.

The Arpaio investigation is one of 17 probes the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division has conducted of police and sheriff departments — the most in its 54-year history. At the same time, the civil rights division has blocked voter identification laws it says harm Hispanic and African American voters.[...]

At his own press conference Wednesday, Arpaio, who has denied the profiling allegations, shot back: “They’re telling me how to run my organization.” He added, “I’d like to get this resolved, but I’m not going to give up my authority to the federal government. It’s as simple as that.”

Entire column...

Blog author's comments - Now a suit by the DOJ against Arizona Sheriff Arpaio. This is another chapter in the ongoing saga between the Obama administration and the state of Arizona concerning illegal immigrants. The Department of Justice already has one suit pending against Arizona and Gov. Jan Brewer, which was discussed recently by the Supreme Court of the United States. We should hear the outcome of this ruling possibly in June.

This latest suit against Arizona and this time Sheriff Joe Arpaio - this has also been a long battle - over the treatment of illegals by the sheriff. The Obama administration says that the civil rights of the illegals are being abused. I believe the sheriff is simply doing his job which he is paid to do. Because Arpaio refuses to obey and agree with the way Obama feels the illegals should be dealt with the DOJ will attempt to restrain him.

This is another political trick by the Obama regime pandering to the Hispanic/Latino vote. If anyone's rights are being violated it is the rights of the legal citizens of Arizona. Sheriff Arpaio is following the laws of our country. But, the Obama administration believes he is a deterrent against how they view the illegals -- as future Democratic Party voters.

Perhaps all of this may be a moot point depending upon how the Supreme Court rules next month.

House Dems - Will Attempt to Overturn Stand Your Ground Law

House to vote on Trayvon amendment

Washington Times -- House Democrats said Tuesday they will offer an amendment to push to overturn stand-your-ground self-defense laws in states like Florida.

The amendment, which would withhold some grants from states that have such laws, will come as part of the House's debate on the Commerce Department spending bill.

"'Shoot-first' laws have already cost too many lives. In Florida alone, deaths due to self-defense have tripled since the law was enacted. Federal money shouldn't be spent supporting states with laws that endanger their own people," said Reps. Raul Grijalva of Arizona and Keith Ellison of Minnesota, the two Democrats who are offering the legislation. "This is no different than withholding transportation funds from states that don't enforce seat-belt laws."

Florida's law, which allows residents to use force in response to an attack without first having to retreat, has come under scrutiny after the nationally-polarizing death of teenager Trayvon Martin. George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, has been charged with murder in the case.

Blog author's comments - Anybody who interferes with your right to self defense does not have your best interests at heart. The Democrats will continue to use the Martin/Zimmerman incident for their own gain.

I do not believe this legislation is going anywhere. The Democrats do not have a majority in the House and gun rights/self defense issues are almost as popular with many Democrat voters as they are with Republican voters. The House members of both parties know this. People are still going to defend themselves regardless of the outcome.

Former NBA Star and Commentator Barkley - Trash Talks Romney

Charles Barkley To Mitt Romney: 'You're Going Down, Bro'

Mediaite -- During TNT’s coverage of the Boston Celtics-Atlanta Hawks basketball game on Sunday night, former NBA star and commentator Charles Barkley took a swing at presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

“Mitt Romney, listen man,” said Barkley. “We’re gonna beat you like a drum in November. Don’t take it personally. I like you, you seem like a nice guy. But you’re going down, bro.”

“This is not a paid political ad,” said his TNT colleague Ernie Johnson, Jr.

Barkley made the remarks after cameras caught Romney talking with members of the crowd at the TD Garden. According to HuffPo's Mollie Reilly, the former Massachusetts Governor attended the game with his wife Ann and former Bain Capital colleague and campaign adviser Bob White “about 12 rows back at mid-court.”

Blog author's comments - Charles, not many folks care what you think about politics. I am hopeful the GOP "beats" the Democrats "like a drum." If Barkley had been of another race and had made similar comments about Barack Obama, how long do you think he would have his job?

Barkley can say whatever he wants concerning Romney and the Republican Party on his own time. I consider the source, but that does not give him a pass to voice his political opinions while an analyst during a televised NBA game. Charles Barkley campaigned for Obama in 2008.

Ted Turner - If U.S. and Israel Disarm it Will Prevent a Nuclear Iran

[Drag Cursor In Black Area If Video Does Not Load]

Ted Turner: U.S. and Israel Should Disarm to Prevent Nuclear Iran

News Busters -- Appearing as a guest on Thursday's Piers Morgan Tonight on CNN, the news network's founder, Ted Turner, complained that a double standard exists between the U.S. and Israel being allowed to possess nuclear weapons while Iran is expected to be nuclear-free, as he suggested that all countries dispose of their nuclear arsenals to persuade Iran not to build such weapons.

Well, first of all, I believe in total nuclear disarmament. That's the only way we're ever going to get there. We all got to play by the same set of rules. We have 2,000 or several thousand nuclear weapons. Iran has none at the current time. It's okay for Israel to have 100, but it's not okay for Iran to have two. That's, that's, you're not treating everybody equally.

I think we've already voted at the U.N. and the Security Council to get rid of nuclear weapons. Let's get rid of them. Let's get rid of ours, and then Iran will stop, I believe, and everybody else will because if everybody doesn't have them, then we're safe - at least safe from a nuclear attack.

Entire column...

Blog author's comments - Turner did not mention that Iran's President has said many times they want to destroy Israel. Yes, Ted….and we should all turn in our guns to prevent killings and robberies by the bad guys!

Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and now they are our friends...what happened in between? We bombed them with atomic bombs twice. No wonder they are so friendly now.

Immense wealth isn’t necessarily an indication of intelligence and common sense. Remember, he did marry Jane Fonda, so how smart can he be? Also -- good luck with the disarming of Pakistan, India, Russia and China of their nukes.

And why does everything have to be based on being “equal”? Real life is not equal. Is anyone going to tell him that if we were completely disarmed of our nuclear weapons, we would be bombed and taken over by other countries?

Pelosi - Still Denies She Was Briefed Concerning Waterboarding

Pelosi denies lying about waterboarding

Washington Examiner -- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., reiterated that she never received a briefing on waterboarding, contrary to the former CIA counterterrorism head who says he personally briefed her on the interrogation techniques.

"This is once again totally false," Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill told The Washington Examiner. "The independent CIA Inspector General conducted a review and the findings are consistent with what Leader Pelosi has maintained all along."

In 2009, Pelosi denied knowing that the CIA waterboarded high-value terrorist detainees. "We were not -- I repeat -- were not told that waterboarding or any of these other enhanced interrogation methods were used," she told reporters.

Rep. Pete Hoekstra, R-Mich., contradicted Pelosi that same day. "It was not necessary to release details of the enhanced interrogation techniques, because members of Congress from both parties have been fully aware of them since the program began in 2002," the then-ranking member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence wrote in The Wall Street Journal. "After many long and contentious debates, Congress repeatedly approved and funded this program on a bipartisan basis in both Republican and Democratic Congresses."

Jose Rodriguez, who ran CIA's counterterrorism operations under President Bush, writes in a new book Hard Measures that Pelosi was told of a technique that was not being used, but adds that it was not waterboarding. Rodriguez claims he told Pelosi about the waterboarding and she did not object. Per Marc Thiessen: Rodriguez writes that neither Pelosi nor anyone else in the briefing objected to the techniques being used.

Entire column...

Blog author's comments - I do believe they are going to have to break out the water board if they want to get the truth out of Nancy "Stretch" Pelosi. She is lost in a world of her own creation.

Let the facts (log sheet) of who was in attendance at the meeting be shown. This woman has proven by her actions over the last decade she has no integrity. Her credibility only exists in the far left of the Democratic Party and of course in the propagandized main stream media.

Sorry Nancy but I have to take the word of Mr. Jose Rodriguez over anything you have to say.
