Rush Limbaugh - GOP Committed To Romney

Rush Limbaugh: I Think There's a Commitment to
Romney at the Upper Levels of the Republican Party

Rush Limbaugh on the Greta Van Susteren Show

Blog author's comments - There is a commitment to Romney at the upper levels of the Republican Party. That’s been obvious from the beginning. The GOP wants Romney as the nominee.

Romney is not my ideal candidate. If he is the nominee, I will of course support and vote for him. We have to rid the country of Barack Obama. We cannot allow him to continue destroying us.

Ron Paul - Sanctions On Iran An Act Of War

Ron Paul: Sanctions against Iran are 'acts of war'

LA Times - Reporting from Perry, Iowa -- Defending himself against charges of isolationism, Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul told voters in Iowa on Thursday that western sanctions against Iran are "acts of war" that are likely to lead to an actual war in the Middle East.

Paul, one of the leading contenders to win next week's Iowa caucuses, said Iran would be justified in responding to the sanctions by blocking the flow of oil through the Strait of Hormuz. He compared the western sanctions to a hypothetical move by China to block the Gulf of Mexico, which Americans would consider an act of war.

He also said he would not respond militarily to keep the strait open—because he would not consider it an act of war against the U.S. But if he were president, he would report to Congress on the issue, leaving it up to lawmakers to declare war if they wanted.

"I think we're looking for trouble because we put these horrendous sanctions on Iran," Paul told a midday audience at the Hotel Pattee in Perry, Iowa. He said the Iranians are "planning to be bombed" and understandably would like to have a nuclear weapon, even though there is "no evidence whatsoever" that they have "enriched" uranium.

Apparently alluding to Israel and its nuclear-weapons arsenal, Paul said that "if I were an Iranian, I'd like to have a nuclear weapon, too, because you gain respect from them."
Entire column...

Blog author's comments - If this doesn’t slow up his supporters, nothing will. So letting Iran obtain nuclear weapons will stabilize the Middle East? They hate Israel and have repeatedly stated their intention to wipe them off the map.

It is difficult to accept that Ron Paul is one of the front-runners for the Iowa caucus. I can't believe there is any chance of him winning the nomination.

Ron Paul wants to legalize drugs, repeal the Patriot Act, cut our military spending and he has also said flawed US policies led to 9/11. He would be a disaster as the Republican candidate. Obama would surely win a second term.

NY Times Columnist Says Obama Is "Mellifluous"

NY Times Thomas Friedman Says GOP Looking for Someone as "Smart and Mellifluous" as Obama

NewsBusters - Appearing on Sunday’s Meet the Press, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman brought his usual lecturer’s arrogance and said he was really worried about President Obama’s chances at re-election: “I really, really worry about him.” The answer, of course, is more “stimulus” and increased spending on overpriced college tuitions: “I really hope he gives us a big choice.”

Friedman also said the Republicans are looking for someone who can be as smart and “mellifluous” as Obama: “And I think Newt's rise is speaking to us. And what it says to me is, is that I think there's a lot of Republicans who are starved for a candidate for their party who would be able to debate Obama head-to-head, they think is as smart and mellifluous as the president." - Entire column...

Blog author's comments - Well, none of us is in the same league as Thomas Friedman or Barack Hussein Obama...not even close, are we? This is what Friedman no doubt believes. The Left has propped Obama up as this ideal that he doesn’t even remotely compare to.

Obama speaking without a teleprompter can be described with many words, but certainly not "mellifluous.” I hope to see debates between Newt Gingrich and Barack Obama.

Republican Establishment Fears Gingrich

Why the establishment fears Newt Gingrich

Washington Post (By Robert S. Walker) - After Newt Gingrich rose in the polls, criticism of the former House speaker began grabbing headlines. But Republican establishment attacks on Newt are not new. Newt’s political career has been devoted to mounting a conservative challenge to the establishment’s desire to play the Washington power game of go along to get along.

As a junior congressman, Newt founded the Conservative Opportunity Society (COS), a group of activist members of Congress whose goal was to challenge the liberal welfare state but whose first target was the Republican establishment in the House of Representatives. The “old bulls” who dominated the party in the House had become quite comfortable in their minority status and saw little chance they would ever become a majority.

Newt and the COS knew that, to create a true conservative agenda, the party needed to focus on becoming a majority. They used the House floor and C-SPAN to promote their ideas. They attacked spending bills and efforts to expand government, some of which the establishment had endorsed.

When Newt became speaker, he was focused, disciplined and tough. He insisted on moving the Contract With America intact. He abolished committees and denied “old bulls” chairmanships. He insisted on using the majority to win conservative victories such as balancing budgets, achieving welfare reform and producing 11 million new jobs with tax cuts that spurred economic growth. He made some people unhappy when he pursued legislation that could win instead of pet bills that would have divided Republicans.

It boils down to this: Newt Gingrich is a conservative; the establishment prefers moderates. Newt prefers to stand up and debate conservative ideas and ideals; the establishment prefers to keep people guessing. Newt is a proven leader, someone with the background, understanding, vision and discipline to be our president; the establishment fears that he just might win. - Entire column...

Blog author's comments - I believe Mitt Romney is the choice of the Republican establishment. Should Romney win the nomination I don't have confidence that he can oust Obama from the White House. I hope that I am wrong.

Romney, Ron Paul and Michele Bachmann have been in attack mode against Gingrich and it appears to be working - if we can believe the polls. But, there have not been any votes cast yet.

Gov. Chris Christie said he would not run for the GOP nomination but, has endorsed Mitt Romney. Christie now says he would think about a possible VP spot.

This may draw those who like Christie to back Romney as the GOP candidate, with hope that if Romney should win the nomination he would chose Christie as his running mate.

Whoever wins the nomination has to take down Obama. America cannot withstand Obama as a two term President. He will have nothing to lose and will continue to destroy our country.

Leftist Judge Blocks Immigration Law

Judge Strikes Key Provisions of
South Carolina Immigration Law

Fox News -- A federal judge on Thursday blocked three key provisions of South Carolina’s controversial law cracking down on illegal immigration.

U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel granted the federal government’s request for an injunction against the law that’s set to take effect Jan. 1.

The ruling applies to portions that require law officers to check the status of anyone they stop for something else and suspect is in the country illegally. Gergel also halted the implementation of sections pertaining to the transportation of illegal immigrants and immigrant registration cards.

A spokesman for Republican Gov. Nikki Haley responded to the ruling by saying the case will be decided by the Supreme Court.

"If the feds were doing their job, we wouldn't have had to address illegal immigration reform at the state level. But, until they do, we're going to keep fighting in South Carolina to be able to enforce our laws,"

Blog author's comments - Barack Obama and his administration have it figured out. All they have to do is have these judicial activists strike down any and all legislation that has a hint of conservatism.

Obama is counting on winning a second term and will attempt to give all illegals citizenship -- they will then be able to vote...for the Democrats.

On December 22, 2009, President Obama nominated U.S. District Judge Richard Gergel to serve on the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina.

Thomas Sowell - The Past and the Present

By Dr. Thomas Sowell - If Newt Gingrich were being nominated for sainthood, many of us would vote very differently from the way we would vote if he were being nominated for a political office.

What the media call Gingrich's "baggage" concerns largely his personal life and the fact that he made a lot of money running a consulting firm after he left Congress. This kind of stuff makes lots of talking points that we will no doubt hear, again and again, over the next weeks and months.

But how much weight should we give to this stuff when we are talking about the future of a nation?

This is not just another election and Barack Obama is not just another president whose policies we may not like. With all of President Obama's broken promises, glib demagoguery and cynical political moves, one promise he has kept all too well. That was his boast on the eve of the 2008 election: "We are going to change the United States of America."

Internationally he has has pulled the rug out from under our allies, whether in Eastern Europe or the Middle East, tried to cozy up to our enemies, and has bowed low from the waist to foreign leaders. This certainly has not represented either the values or the interests of America.

Against this background, how much does Newt Gingrich's personal life matter, whether we accept his claim that he has now matured or his critics' claim that he has not? Nor should we sell the public short by saying that they are going to vote on the basis of tabloid stuff or media talking points, when the fate of this nation hangs in the balance.

While the televised debates are what gave Newt Gingrich's candidacy a big boost, concrete accomplishments when in office are the real test. Gingrich engineered the first Republican takeover of the House of Representatives in 40 years -- followed by the first balanced budget in 40 years. The media called it "the Clinton surplus" but all spending bills start in the House of Representatives, and Gingrich was Speaker of the House.

Speaker Gingrich also produced some long overdue welfare reforms, despite howls from liberals that the poor would be devastated. But nobody makes that claim any more.

Did Gingrich ruffle some feathers when he was Speaker of the House? Yes, enough for it to cost him that position. But he also showed that he could produce results.

In a world where we can make our choices only among the alternatives actually available, the question is whether Newt Gingrich is better than Barack Obama -- and better than Mitt Romney.

Romney is a smooth talker, but what did he actually accomplish as governor of Massachusetts, compared to what Gingrich accomplished as Speaker of the House? When you don't accomplish much, you don't ruffle many feathers. But is that what we want?

Can you name one important positive thing that Romney accomplished as governor of Massachusetts? Can anyone? Does a candidate who represents the bland leading the bland increase the chances of victory in November 2012? A lot of candidates like that have lost, from Thomas E. Dewey to John McCain.

Those who want to concentrate on the baggage in Newt Gingrich's past, rather than on the nation's future, should remember what Winston Churchill said: "If the past sits in judgment on the present, the future will be lost." If that means a second term for Barack Obama, then it means lost big time. - Entire column...

Blog author's comments - Another good column from Thomas Sowell. He explains and attempts to inform those who do not understand or believe that the election of 2012 may be the most important in the history of our country.

If Obama receives a second term the country will be changed for the worse -- possibly forever. Barack Obama would like to continue the transformation of America into a Socialist nation.

Until we rid Washington of Obama and his administration the economy will continue to suffer, our debt will continue to grow, and soon we may no longer recognize our once great country.

Allen West - AG Holder Playing Race Card

West: Holder's race card is the 'last card in the deck'

Daily Caller - Florida Republican Rep. Allen West told The Daily Caller on Monday that Attorney General Eric Holder’s use of the race card as a way to attack those who are criticizing him is “reprehensible.”

“I think this is absolutely the last card in the deck, and that shows how weak their ground is,” West said in a phone interview. “But, what that means is they want to make white individuals afraid of continuing to put the pressure on Eric Holder because they don’t want to be seen as racist, and that is something that we have got to move beyond.”

Holder had told The New York Times over the weekend, in a front page Sunday story that he thinks those who are criticizing him have racial motivations to do so. Holder said some unspecified faction — what he refers to as the “more extreme segment” — is driven to criticize both him and President Barack Obama due to the color of their skin.

West said Holder can’t logically assign race as a motivation behind the criticisms for his handling of Operation Fast and Furious. “What Fast and Furious has to do with is misleading the Congress and the American people about what you knew about this program, and if you did not know anything about this program, then who’s in charge of the Department of Justice?” West said.

“It has nothing to do with your race — it has everything to do with competence, with your character and with your ability to lead the Department of Justice.” - Keep reading...

Blog author's comments - Once again Col. Allen West has hit the nail on the head. Holder should not be the Attorney General but Obama will continue to support and defend him. They both have the same goal which is the destruction of the Second Amendment.

Holder did not tell the truth about his knowledge of operation 'Fast and Furious'. Holder and Obama attempt to hide behind the color of their skin -- the American people should know by now who they are by their actions.

Nancy Pelosi - Democrats Can Win House

Pelosi: Democrats Can Take Back House

The Hill - There is a clear path to victory for Democrats in the House to retake the majority in 2012, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said Thursday night.

“We feel very confident about it. We've outraised the Republicans, if you can imagine that. Our small donors have saved the day for us,” Pelosi said on MSNBC.

Democrats need to flip 25 Republican-controlled seats in 2012 to take back control of the House.- Keep reading...

Blog author's comments - Nancy Pelosi wants her gavel back -- she desperately misses being Speaker of the House. Pelosi also had confidence in 2010 before the midterm elections. The day of the elections she said:

“The early returns and overwhelming number of Democrats who are coming out – we’re on pace to maintain a majority in the House of Representatives,” she told reporters.

The Democrats lost 63 seats and Pelosi had to turn over her gavel to John Boehner in one of the most memorable moments in the history of American politics.

Obama - Blames Gridlock On GOP

Obama blames GOP for gridlock, says
they just want to get him out of office

He told the reporter the GOP wants to get him out of office at any cost: Whatever Obama’s for, we’re going to be against, because the economy’s bad and we figure the President usually will be held more accountable than we are. And I understand that as a political strategy.

Blog author's comments - Obama on the use of executive order --
"If there are things that we can do.....we're gonna go ahead and do them with or without Congress."

The Constitution, checks and balances, the voices of the people, these ideas mean absolutely nothing to this President.

Obama had a Democratic majority in both houses for the first two years he was in office and rammed every single thing he wanted to down American's throats without any thought to negotiating with the Republicans.

But now he demands the Republicans do what he wants - the only thing Obama does well is blame someone else for all of his problems.

Surprise - Democrat Defends Muslim TV Show

House Democrat blasts Lowe's for
pulling ads from Muslim-centered TV show

The Hill - Rep. Chris Murphy (D-Conn) on Tuesday morning accused Lowe’s, the nationwide home-improvement chain, of giving weight to anti-Muslim views by pulling its ads from the TLC show “All-American Muslim.”

Murphy said on the House floor that Lowe’s last week pulled its ads after a Florida-based group criticized the show for trying to hide the anti-American views that many Muslims hold. In response to these complaints by the Florida Family Association, Lowe’s pulled its ads, but Murphy said that decision is a dangerous precedent for the company to follow.

“This is a major American company rubber-stamping basic foundational bigotry against a major American religious group,” Murphy said.

“Lowe’s pulled these ads because one right-wing anti-Muslim group in Florida said that the show hides the ‘true agenda of Islam,’ which according to this group is to destroy America. It’s one thing when a fringe group or a radical, unhinged pastor is doing it. It’s quite another when a Fortune 100 company is endorsing this nonsense.”

Blog author's comments - This is what the Democrats in Congress are discussing? We have high unemployment, the country in immense debt, and they are taking a private business to task for pulling their ad dollars.

"Lowe's employed its Facebook page to defend itself and called "All-American Muslim," a "lightning rod" for "strong political and societal views." Lowe's spokeswoman Karen Cobb said the company was one of "dozens" of companies to pull ads.

Lowe's has no responsibility to anyone except their shareholders. They should never give in to this fake bigotry charge.

Obama - Is Still Blaming Bush For Our Problems

Obama: "We've Been Spending The Last
Three Years Cleaning" Bush's Mess Up

“The reason they still support me is because they understand what an incredible mess had been made as I was coming into office and we’ve been spending the last three years cleaning it up. The good news is that the economy is starting to strengthen. We’ve seen some positive signs. The unemployment rate has ticked down.”

Blog author's comments - It will take many years to clean up the mess that Obama has created if he can be removed from the White House in 2012.

One thing we will never see is this President take responsibility for anything, except of course the killing of Osama bin Laden all by himself.

Obama can’t run on his record. So it will be a combination of blame the Republicans and class warfare. If he wins a second term he will have nothing to lose. He could take our country to a place from where it may never recover.

Ron Paul - Bush Administration Happy After 9/11

Ron Paul: 9/11 Prompted "Glee" In Bush Administration

CBS News - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul said Thursday evening that Bush administration officials were gleeful after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks because it gave them a pretext to invade Iraq.

"Just think of what happened after 9/11. Immediately before there was any assessment there was glee in the administration because now we can invade Iraq," the Texas Republican told a group of mostly young backers in Iowa. He went on to suggest officials are now setting the stage for an invasion of Iran.

Paul, who was tied for second in this week's CBS News/New York Times poll of likely Iowa caucus-goers, is making a strong push in the Hawkeye state in hopes of scoring an upset victory in the first-in-the-nation January 3 caucuses. Paul volunteers have been working to convince Paul's mostly young supporters - many of whom will be on holiday break from college when the caucuses take place - to be sure to make it to their caucus site.

Paul's libertarian views - on the foreign policy front, he wants to dramatically reduce the U.S. military presence abroad and end all foreign aid - put him at odds with many Republican voters. A poll from Gallup this week found that 62 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning independent voters see Paul as an unacceptable nominee.

In response to Paul's comments Thursday evening, former Bush administration spokesman Ari Fleisher Tweeted: "The man is nuts." Keep reading...

Obama - Payroll Tax Cut vs. Pipeline For Jobs

Obama threatens veto if pipeline
decision is added to payroll tax cut

The Hill - The battle between the White House and Republicans over the Keystone XL pipeline escalated Wednesday with a veto threat delivered personally by President Obama.

Obama warned that he would veto an extension of the payroll-tax cut, his top legislative priority, if House Republicans link it to a measure that would force the administration to greenlight the pipeline project.

“Any effort to try to tie Keystone to the payroll-tax cut, I will reject,” Obama told reporters Wednesday after meeting at the White House with Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

Obama said he would not accept a payroll-tax-holiday bill to which Republicans add “extraneous” provisions.

“I don’t expect to have to veto it because I expect they’re going to have enough sense over on Capitol Hill to do the people’s business, and not try to load it up with a bunch of politics,” the president said.

Capitol Hill Republicans, backed by industry groups, want to force a quick decision on the pipeline, which the administration currently plans to review into 2013.

Michael Steel, a spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), said Republicans welcome a showdown with the president over Keystone.

“If President Obama threatens to veto it over a provision that creates American jobs, that’s a fight we’re ready to have,” he said.

Obama: More jobs in jobless
benefits than Keystone pipeline

Examiner - Obama said when asked if he would go on vacation while keeping Congress in Washington D.C. "We are going to stay here as long as it takes to get unemployment extended and pass the payroll tax cut."

As Obama called for passage of those bills, he also responded to a recent Republican push to require him to approve the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada.

"However many jobs might be generated by a Keystone pipeline," he said, "they're going to be a lot fewer than the jobs that are created by extending the payroll tax cut and extending unemployment insurance."

Blog author's comments - It's going to be interesting to see how this plays out. Hopefully the Republicans will attach the Keystone pipeline to the bill.

Let Harry Reid table it. Let Obama veto it. Let them own it. Obama is the worst jobs president since the Great Depression. The economy will only improve when Obama leaves the White House.

Does this president really believe that handing out unemployment benefits creates more jobs than a pipeline? Is he so committed to 'green' jobs that he will stop the pipeline which would create 20,000 jobs?

I didn’t realize that collecting unemployment was considered a valid occupation. This is more of the Marxist/Socialist mindset of Obama.

Pelosi Backs Down Against Gingrich

Pelosi Not Sitting on Trove of Gingrich Secrets

ABC News - House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi now says she is not sitting on a trove of opposition research on former House Speaker-turned-GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich.

In an interview conducted Friday and published Monday, Pelosi hinted that once the time is right she has some juicy stories to tell about her former colleague.

“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich,” Pelosi, D-Calif., told Talking Points Memo. “I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him. Four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

But this afternoon, Pelosi’s spokesman, Drew Hammill, suggested that her comments have been misconstrued beyond the leader’s intent.

“Leader Pelosi was clearly referring to the extensive amount of information that is in the public record, including the comprehensive committee report with which the public may not be fully aware,” Hammill wrote in a statement.

That ethics report examined allegations that Gingrich violated House rules by using his congressional staff to aide him on a college course he taught called ”Renewing American Civilization.”

Gingrich, who has recently surged in polling to become the frontrunner for the GOP presidential nomination, said that Pelosi’s threat “shows you how capriciously political” the ethics committee was when Pelosi served as a member.

Blog author's comments - Nancy Pelosi was attempting to follow the Democrat game plan. Which is whoever the GOP frontrunner may be, they with help from the MSM will try to take them down.

One exception is Mitt Romney, who the left must want as the GOP candidate against Obama in 2012. I don't think they believe that Romney can defeat Obama.

Gingrich’s reaction to Pelosi's threats shows a good example of how to deal with the Democrats. He went on the attack and turned the tables on her.

No Christmas Decorations In Some Schools

School Bans Poinsettias, Santa?

Fox News - Controversy is embroiling a California town over allegations that elementary school teachers have been told they cannot display poinsettias or Santa Claus in their classroom over fears that it might offend people.

“District office would like to remind everyone when displaying holiday decorations in and around school to be mindful no association to any religious affiliation i.e. Santa, poinsettias, Christmas trees, etc,” read a document obtained by News 10 in Sacramento that was reportedly sent to teachers at Claudia Landeen Elementary School in Stockton, CA.

The same document said holiday decorations like snowmen and snowflakes were appropriate for grade school classrooms.

Tom Uslan, the superintendent of the Lincoln Unified School District, told News 10 “there is a myriad of religious affiliations (in the community). . . we don’t want a pervasive theme of a class to be representing one religious affiliation.” - Keep reading...

Blog author's comments - More political correctness by liberals. Since when did America allow immigrants to come in and rearrange things?

It's difficult to believe that the children are the ones offended by the decorations or a plant. I would not look for this type of thinking to end anytime soon.

Newt Gingrich: President "Barack Obama is

Blog author's comments - This kind of straight talk is exactly why Newt Gingrich has soared to the top of the GOP Nomination race.

It's going to get brutal as we move toward the 2012 election and Obama's attack dogs which include the MSM will fire everything they have at the GOP candidate in an attempt to shove Obama across the victory line.

If Obama wins he will take the country to a place from which it will not be able to return.

On Saturday, December 17th, 2011, the President will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii. He will return to Washington, DC on Monday, January 2nd, 2012. ... public events are scheduled during the trip...

Obama: 'To Implement Affordable Care
Act in 2014...I've Got to Win in 2012'

CNS News - Speaking at a campaign fundraising event at the Gotham Bar and Grille in New York City on Wednesday, President Barack Obama told a group of supporters he needed to win reelection next year to make sure the health-care law he signed in 2010 will actually be fully implemented in 2014 as planned.

“We still have a health care system that has to get more efficient and that has to improve its quality,” Obama said, according to a White House transcript. “And so we're going to have to implement the Affordable Care Act in 2014, and that means I've got to win in 2012.”

The law Obama signed mandates that by 2104 all must purchase a health-care plan that meets government requirements. The constitutionality of this mandate has been challenged in federal court and the Supreme Court has said it will hear the case in this session. Keep reading...

He wants to totally transform this country. It’s that simple. We must elect someone else and let them finish Obamacare - by putting it in the trash where it belongs.

Obama has forced Obamacare on us which most of us do not want. He has increased the debt with his stimulus spending. He has destroyed the private sector economy.

This means information will now be kept from the public as well as the media. Could this be a cover-up on the part of the “most transparent” administration in history? After all, the rifle used to kill the federal agent (Brian Terry) last December in Arizona’s Peck Canyon was part of the now infamous Operation Fast and Furious. Conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), the disastrous scheme allowed guns to be smuggled into Mexico so they could eventually be traced to drug cartels. Instead, federal law enforcement officers lost track of more than 1,000 guns which have been used in numerous crimes.

Truth is, no one will know the reason for the confiscation of public court records in this case because the judge’s decision to seal it was also sealed, according to the news story. That means the public or media won’t have access to any new or old evidence, filings, rulings or arguments. - Keep reading...

Blog author's comments - We are supposed to believe that there is not a cover up going on. And Obama and Holder have nothing to hide. But they have a liberal judge seal the records and as far as they are concerned it's over.

You would think there would be a journalist somewhere who would like to become famous by exposing all the corruption of this administration. I don’t expect the Republicans to do it.

Federal agent Brian Terry was murdered and Obama and Holder's 'Fast and Furious' Program has also been linked to over 200 murders in Mexico.

Christie To Obama - Why Are We Paying You?

Chris Christie: President Obama's just a 'bystander'

Politico - Gov. Chris Christie on Monday tore into President Barack Obama in the aftermath of the supercommittee’s failure to reach an agreement on debt reduction last week, asking the president, “What the hell are we paying you for?”

Calling Obama “a bystander in the Oval Office,” the outspoken New Jersey governor said the White House spent the weekend tossing out a whole lot of “spin” about the supercommittee’s inability to come to an agreement before the Nov. 23 deadline.

“I was angry this weekend, listening to the spin coming out of the administration, about the failure of the supercommittee, and that the president knew it was doomed for failure, so he didn’t get involved. Well then what the hell are we paying you for?” Christie said during a press conference in Camden, N.J. “It’s doomed for failure so I’m not getting involved? Well, what have you been doing, exactly?”

Blog author's comments - Good questions from Christie -- but those of us who have watched Obama for nearly three years -- know the answers. Obama is not qualified to be the President. Even as a member of the Senate he voted present much of the time.

Obama and his administration are the major reason for the problems we now have. He would rather have an excuse than a solution. He does not want an agreement with the Republicans. He needs something to run on for 2012. Let us not forget the GOP has controlled the House for less than a year.

Colin Powell - Blames Media And Tea Party

Colin Powell Blames Media and
Tea Party for Divisive Tone in Washington

News Busters -- They compromised--"the Founding Fathers compromised on slavery. They had to in order to create a country. They compromised on the composition of the Senate, of the House, of the Supreme Court, of a president -- what are the president's powers? Can you imagine more difficult compromises today?

Compromise is how this country was founded, and unless two people in disagreement with each other don't find a way to reach out to one another and make compromises, you don't get a consensus that allows you to move forward.

But the Tea Party point of view of no compromise whatsoever is not a point of view that will eventually produce a presidential candidate who will win."

Blog author's comments - If the Republicans don't compromise and do what the Democrats want, it's because of the Tea Party? I would hope the GOP will no longer always concede to what the Democrats want for our country.

Colin Powell may say he is a member of the Republican Party but he supported and voted for Obama in 2008 and I believe he will vote for him in 2012.

Compromise should never require citizens to turn a blind eye to out-of-control spending or corrupt leadership.

Another Reason - To Defeat Obama In 2012

The Armed Citizen - June 22, 2011
It’s a familiar scenario: An armed citizen with a concealed-carry permit is likely once again to have saved multiple lives. Several customers were doing business inside a pawn shop when a man walked inside, pointed a gun toward the ceiling and announced a robbery. Did the gunman intend to shoot the clerk? Would he take hostages? We’ll never know, because a customer with a concealed-carry permit promptly drew a pistol and shot the robber in the stomach. The robber has been charged with aggravated robbery. (KSAT-TV, San Antonio, TX, 06/22/11)

The Armed Citizen - July 15, 2011
Upon stopping at an intersection, a motorist noticed a man approaching. Before he could react, the man reached through the window and punched him several times. Stunned by the blows, the motorist reached for his handgun, which he has a permit to carry. As his attacker reached behind his back, as if for a weapon, the motorist drew his gun and fired a shot, striking the assailant in the upper torso. The suspect will be charged following his release from the hospital. (WZXT-TV, Jacksonville, Fla., 7/15/11)

The Armed Citizen - August 31, 2011
Phillip Ramsey was drinking coffee in his kitchen when there was a knock at the door. “I didn’t recognize him and I didn’t answer the door,” Ramsey recalled. Shortly thereafter a second unknown man knocked at the door. When Ramsey didn’t answer, the man circled toward the rear of the house. Ramsey heard glass breaking and grabbed his 9 mm pistol, which he usually stores in the bedroom. “For some reason, I had it with me in the kitchen today,” he said. Ramsey called 9-1-1 and when he got to his bedroom, the man was getting off the bed below a broken window. Ramsey held the suspect at gunpoint until police arrived. Following the incident he offered the following safety advice to fellow citizens: “Get a gun and learn how to use it.” (The Post and Courier, Charleston, S.C., 8/31/11)

Studies indicate that firearms are used more than 2 million times a year for personal protection, and the presence of a firearm, without a shot being fired, prevents crime in many instances.

Blog author's comments - I have never ever seen the level of dishonesty and the will to transform our country as I have with the administration now in power.

One of many attacks which is being worked on within the shadows is the Obama administration’s clear intent—once freed from the political restrictions of a first term—to assault the Second Amendment.

The President has a long, detailed and irrefutable opposition to the Second Amendment—as a senator, as a candidate and in the White House. But he is not foolish enough to revisit his fight out in the open when he has to win another election.

The media has joined the administration's attempt to cover up the operation “Fast and Furious,” a deadly, criminal scheme concocted by the Justice Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Now that the secret’s out, the Obama administration stalls and obstructs the investigation.

This was done with intent to enact more gun control and limit our right to purchase and own firearms. These are the facts gun owners face today from the most anti-gun administration ever.

In their crusade against the rich the OWS losers are hurting the average people with their so-called protests. Why must productive citizens foot the bill?

Send it to Obama and have him pay it from his campaign funds, the protesters have his approval. Obama hopes his class warfare works for the 2012 election.

Illegal Immigration - Gingrich vs. Bachmann

Newt Gingrich and Michele
Bachmann on Immigration

Blog author's comments - Would I want our government to close the borders and keep them secure - to round up all illegals and deport them? Yes! Will it ever happen and could it happen? Secure borders, hopefully - deportation of all illegals? No!

Newt Gingrich had some solid points on illegals during the debate when he provided an overview of a possible plan. I agree with some of what he said because we have to face the facts, no one is going to kick out 11-20 million people. It won't happen.

He has a workable plan. He did mention 'control the borders'. That should be the first item on our agenda against illegal immigration. Gingrich has a plan to curtail and separate the good from the bad.

I think that Newt Gingrich purposely didn't mention citizenship for these people, and the reason for that is they can't vote if they're not citizens. So he obviously has thought about this to a certain extent because he knows that if you grant amnesty, amnesty is citizenship.

Michele Bachmann offered no specific detailed plan of her own concerning control of illegals but was critical of the plan that Gingrich outlined.

If Obama remains in office he sees all illegals as future voters for the Democratic Party and he will find a way to pass a bill which gives amnesty to all illegals which would allow them to vote.

Here is the exchange via: CNN transcripts.

Later during the debate Mitt Romney was critical of the Gingrich plan concerning illegal immigration.

Newt Gingrich later 'tweeted'...Mitt Romney what's your
position on citizenship for illegals again? (I oppose it.)

In a 2007 Meet the Press interview, Mitt Romney outlines his views on illegal immigration and says the 12 million illegal immigrants should be granted citizenship.

Obama - GOP Refuses To Compromise

What a Surprise - Obama Blames the
Republicans for Super Committee Failure

Blog author's comments - Many of us knew that a 'Super Committee' was a bad idea. It is also clear that Obama's campaign strategy for the 2012 election is to divide the country along economic lines.

He has no intention of attempting to repair the damage he has done because he takes no responsibility for it. He will continue to use class warfare with hope that the majority of voters will agree with him and support him in his reelection in 2012.

Gingrich - Advice For OWS Protesters

Newt Gingrich Offers Advice to
Occupy Wall Street Protesters

Blog author's comments - Good advice from Gingrich for the OWS people. Obama should have shut them down many weeks ago but he has helped to create them with the class warfare he uses.

I think it is now a race between Gingrich and Romney for the GOP nomination. Because of the Gingrich rise in the polls he is now receiving the anal exam from the MSM. But, during all the weeks with Romney at or near the top the media has really not gone after him.

They want to help chose our nominee for us and he is their man. I would much rather see Gingrich win the nomination. I am convinced Romney cannot defeat Obama.

Gingrich is the brightest and has the most political experience of anyone we currently have. Those who cannot overlook his baggage are not politically aware of what is happening and do not know how serious the situation in this country is.

They must not realize what Obama has done and has planned for us if he should win a second term in 2012. If Obama remains in office the country may never recover.

Rick Perry - Says Obama Is a Socialist

Rick Perry: "Absolutely...I Think
Barack Obama Is a Socialist"

Blog author's comments - I don't disagree with Rick Perry and the comments he made about Obama. I think that it is clear Obama does not like this country the way it is.

He wants to totally change it, to redistribute the wealth and to have more people who depend on the government to provide for them. This will also keep the Democratic Party in power.

What I cannot understand is the number of people who seem to agree with him and would like to have him as President for another four years. For the country to survive he must be defeated in 2012.

Obama Delays Drilling In Ohio - Kills Jobs

Obama USDA delays shale drilling, up to 200k jobs

Examiner - President Obama's United States Department of Agriculture has delayed shale gas drilling in Ohio for up to six months by cancelling a mineral lease auction for Wayne National Forest (WNF). The move was taken in deference to environmentalists, on the pretext of studying the effects of hydraulic fracturing.

“Conditions have changed since the 2006 Forest Plan was developed,” announced WNF Supervisor Anne Carey on Tuesday. “The technology used in the Utica & Marcellus Shale formations need to be studied to see if potential effects to the surface are significantly different than those identified in the Forest Plan.” The study will take up to six months to complete. The WNF study reportedly “will focus solely on how it could affect forest land,” despite the significance of hydraulic fracturing to united proponents of the delay, “and not how it could affect groundwater.”

Speaking of the WNF gas drilling, one environmentalist group spokesman suggested that moving forward with drilling "could turn the Ohio Valley into Ozone Alley," even though Wayne National Forest already has nearly 1300 oil and gas wells in operation.

The Ohio Oil and Gas Energy Education Program (OOGEEP) recently estimated that drilling in the Utica shale, which is affected by the suspension of the mineral lease auctions, would produce up 204,500 jobs by 2015.

Blog author's comments - August 2011 Obama said: "But you should know that keeping the economy growing and making sure jobs are available is the first thing I think about when I wake up every morning. It's the last thing I think about when I go to bed each night."

President Obama's United States Department of Agriculture has delayed shale gas drilling in Ohio for up to six months. Along with that there is the loss of approximately 200,000 jobs by 2015 that the drilling would have created.

This week, Obama also killed at least another 20,000 jobs by not approving the Keystone Pipeline from Canada to ship oil from Canada to the United States.

We have to wait for job creation until after Obama leaves the White House because the only job he is concerned about is his own.

DNC - Obama Did Not Call Americans Lazy

DNC fights back: Obama never called Americans 'lazy'

The Hill - The Democratic National Committee pushed back in a new Web ad Thursday, a response to attacks by Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Perry over President Obama’s use of the word “lazy.”

According to an email from a DNC aide, the ad is designed to prove Romney and Perry are “being dishonest” about what Obama really said and the context in which he said it.

Here is the DNC ad insisting Obama never called Americans lazy.

This is what Obama said last weekend about lazy Americans.

Blog author's comments - In their new video the DNC insists that when Obama was calling Americans lazy he really was not calling Americans lazy.

The media also covers for Obama. They always need to explain the news. Whenever a Republican speaks they tell us that what they said was actually much worse than it sounded. When Obama or any Democrat speaks they have to convince us that it wasn’t quite as bad as it really was.

No doubt there are many who will believe the DNC's ad. These are the same people who watch, listen to, and absorb like sponges what the MSM reports and would like all of us to believe.

Santa Ousted From Cancer Hospital

Cancer center's Santa gets boot

Post and Courier - It's not even December, but Santa has already been fired from Charleston's Hollings Cancer Center.

For each of the past two years, hospital volunteer Frank Cloyes spent one day as St. Nick, spreading good cheer and snacks to patients sitting through chemotherapy treatments. The 67-year-old James Island resident, a retired insurance executive who calls himself a "gregarious guy," paid for his own costume rental.

On Tuesday morning, a volunteer coordinator told Cloyes his services no longer were needed.

"Because of our state affiliation, we decided not to have a Santa presence this year," Hollings spokeswoman Vicky Agnew said. Hollings is a part of the Medical University of South Carolina.

Decorations will be "more secular and respectful to all beliefs," Agnew said. "We don't want to offend a volunteer with good intentions, but we need to think of the bigger picture. People who are Muslim or Jewish or have no religious beliefs come here for treatment," she said.

Blog author's comments - If one is in a hospital for cancer treatment is the presence of a man dressed in a Santa Claus suit going to upset them? I’ll bet it’s not the Jewish patients that are offended.

This is more political correctness to be certain they do not offend the Muslims. If I send a donation and say Merry Christmas, will they return my donation as not being more secular and respectful to all beliefs?
