Happy Halloween!

A Democrat Halloween - Spooky!

An amusing cartoon but millions of Americans don't realize this is exactly what is happening.

Unless they begin to remove the Democrats November 2 - they will be giving more of their money to the government.

Will Nancy Pelosi Retire if Dems Lose?

Pelosi May Retire if Democrats Lose Control of the House
As if we needed any more incentive to vote next Tuesday, it is now being speculated that if the Democrats lose control of the House Nancy Pelosi will retire. Not just give up her gavel mind you, she may retire altogether from the House.

With several Democrats stating publicly that they will not vote for her as Speaker of the House if Democrats somehow manage to hold on to their majority, and with many Democrats refusing to state their support for Nancy Pelosi as Speaker, it seems as if there it a looming power struggle growing within the ranks of House Democrats.

It has been reported that if the Democrats do hold onto the House that Nancy Pelosi would not seek another term as Speaker, but this news takes this election to another level. This news raises the stakes of this election even higher.

This turns Nancy Pelosi’s re-election bid into a national election–a referendum on the Speaker as well as the president. If this speculation is accurate we will not only have the chance to vote against her figuratively, we will have the chance to vote against her literally. We cannot let this chance pass us by!

And when you take into account the fact that most pundits agree that Democrats can not avoid losing the House, the likelihood of Democrats who will most likely blame her for the demise of their House majority - voting for Nancy Pelosi as minority leader seem next to zero.- Continue reading > > >

Blog author's comments - Aside from the GOP taking control of the House it would be satisfying to see Pelosi retire and Reid lose in Nevada.

I don't believe that San-Fran-Nan would enjoy losing her position of power. So if the Dems lose the House she is likely to retire. As for Reid, he could very well steal this election if he does not see a clear victory.

It would be a breath of fresh air to see these two out of the political picture. Perhaps this is all too much to hope for. We will see what the voters have to say next Tuesday. If what Obama has done to the country in two years does not force the people to the polls to vote against the Democrats, I have no idea what it will take.

I hope to see the Republicans in control of the House and pick up 7 or possibly 8 seats in the Senate.

Okay people - go to the polls on Tuesday, November 2 and remove the Democrats and RINO's. Do us all a favor so we can begin to change the direction in which Obama has the country and to convince the people that a Democrat president in 2012 is not acceptable. In my opinion Obama has proven that.

Nancy Pelosi - Time to retire!

Harry Reid - Stimulus Bill Was Good For Country

Reid on the Stimulus - "There are people that have written about this, it's not just me saying it." "We're told by these experts had we not done this, nationwide the unemployment rate would be 16%."

Sorry Harry, I don't believe you. You will say and do anything to win the election. The only job you care about is your own.

Blog author's comments - Hopefully Sharron Angle will defeat Harry Reid in Nevada on Tuesday. I believe the majority of the people in this country would like to see him gone. I will never understand how the folks in Nevada continue to support him.

Harry! Obama told us that the 'Stimulus' would keep the rate of unemployment under 8%. I was surprised that Reid did not once again blame George W. Bush for the entire mess he and the Obama administration have created.

Harry, please go away.

Limbaugh on WSJ Article by Shelby Steele

Rush Limbaugh reads and reacts to this article by Shelby Steele at the WSJ. The entire article below the video.

A Referendum on the Redeemer - Barack Obama put the Democrats in the position of forever redeeming a fallen nation rather than leading a great one.

WSJ - By Shelby Steele
Whether or not the Republicans win big next week, it is already clear that the "transformative" aspirations of the Obama presidency—the special promise of this first black president to "change" us into a better society—are much less likely to materialize.

But apart from this politics of numbers, there is also now a deepening disenchantment with Barack Obama himself. (He has a meager 37% approval rating by the latest Harris poll.)

His embarrassed supporters console themselves that their intentions were good; their vote helped make history. But for Mr. Obama himself there is no road back to the charisma and political capital he enjoyed on his inauguration day.

The first answer is well-known: His policy making has been grandiose, thoughtless and bullying. His health-care bill was ambitious to the point of destructiveness and, finally, so chaotic that today no citizen knows where they stand in relation to it.

His financial-reform bill seems little more than a short-sighted scapegoating of Wall Street. In foreign policy he has failed to articulate a role for America in the world.

Next week's election is, among other things, a referendum on the idea of president-as-redeemer. We have a president so determined to transform and redeem us from what we are that, by his own words, he is willing to risk being a one-term president. - Continue reading > > >

Blog author's comments - Barack Hussein Obama was never qualified to be President. He has done nothing but damage the country. He has also divided the people, which I believe was his intention.

Say what you want about presidents we've had, most of them have at least viewed themselves as representatives of all the people. Not so with Obama. Obama, Reid, Pelosi, his entire regime, view over half of the country as the enemy. November 2 we begin to take back our country.

If the Republicans finally get serious about their jobs and what is at stake, they will do what most of us know is necessary. They need to change the direction of the country, to take a lesson from the Tea Party people, and convince a majority of the country that neither Obama nor any Democrat should be elected president in 2012.

Early Voters Having Problems - Voter Fraud?

Nevada Voters Complain Of Problems At Polls - LAS VEGAS -- Some voters in Boulder City complained on Monday that their ballot had been cast before they went to the polls, raising questions about Clark County's electronic voting machines.

Voter Joyce Ferrara said when they went to vote for Republican Sharron Angle, her Democratic opponent, Sen. Harry Reid's name was already checked. Ferrara said she wasn't alone in her voting experience. She said her husband and several others voting at the same time all had the same thing happen.

"Something's not right," Ferrara said. "One person that's a fluke. Two, that's strange. But several within a five minute period of time -- that's wrong."

Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax said there is no voter fraud, although the issues do come up because the touch-screens are sensitive."

Lomax said voters need to have faith in the system. "This election, I think, more than ever," he said. "The two sides are very fractured and each side is suspicious and we're caught in the middle."

Blog author's comments - Does this story surprise anyone? You should expect it. Harry Reid is very desperate and his supporters will do whatever is necessary to save him.

Do the Dems know how to play this game? You betcha! They have their lawyers lined up and ready for the recounts and law suits which will follow the election of November 2. It could be months before some candidates will know if they have won or lost.

The Democrats will get away with as much as they can, and it will be quite a lot. Nevada is not the only state where voters are having problems. Republican voters have reported the same difficulties in North Carolina.

Don't go wobbly now folks, go to the polls and rid Washington of as many Democrats and RINO's as possible. It's time to save ourselves and take back our country.

My guess as to what Harry Reid's response would be.

CBS Show '60 Minutes' - What a Surprise!

60 Minutes Says Unemployment is 17% - 22% in California

Update: Added video from CBS.

Blog author's comments - I have not watched the show "60 Minutes" for almost 20 years, they are usually much too liberal for me. This is why I was surprised by this video from Sunday's show.

Quite interesting that "60 Minutes" aired the show and its contents with regard to unemployment so close to the election. I doubt that the White House and the Democrats are thrilled about it.

"60 Minutes" acknowledged that US unemployment is not the 9.5% the Obama regime wants us to believe.

Warning From The Center For Disease Control

Information about Gonorrhea Lectim

The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim. It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect'em," and it is a terrible obamanation.

The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008...but now most people, after having been infected for the past 1-2 years, are starting to realize how destructive this sickness is.

It's sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the market called Votemout, pronounced Vote-em-out. You take the first dose in 2010 and the second dose in 2012 and simply don't engage in such behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it.

Several states are already on top of this, like Virginia and New Jersey, and apparently now Massachusetts, with many more seeing the writing on the wall.

Please pass this important message on to all those people you really care about.

Blog author's comments - A note about the warning from the Center for Disease Control. I am concerned about the people who do not take the hazards of this disease seriously.

Many may chose to ignore the warning and continue to engage in the same behavior they have in the past. You have now been officially warned by the CDC.

For those of you who continue this dangerous behavior as you did in 2008, you will be issued this 'badge' which you will be forced by law to wear.

This action taken by the CDC is necessary to protect and warn others within your families, communities and country that you are a carrier of this disease and should be avoided.

Harry Reid Saved Us From A Worldwide Depression

Reid takes credit for saving us. What is he talking about? You are right Harry; you don't give us any comfort or solace. You could if you would just go away.

Juan Williams - Fired For Doing Nothing Wrong

Political Correctness Costs Juan Williams His Job at NPR - MRC's Bozell Blasts NPR's "Outrageous" Firing of Juan Williams

National Public Radio (NPR) has fired longtime analyst Juan Williams for admitting he gets nervous on a plane when he sees a person dressed in Muslim garb.

Brent Bozell, Media Research Center (MRC) President, reacted:"Juan Williams has done nothing wrong. What he said echoes what the vast majority of Americans believe. It's their tax dollars that fund NPR. But NPR is ignoring them. Instead, they are kowtowing to the agenda of radical anti-Americans like CAIR, and doing the bidding of George Soros, who hates Fox News with a passion.

"We are preparing letters to the appropriate House and Senate oversight committees to request an investigation.

Blog author's comments - The liberals and their political correctness. Be careful what you say, because someone somewhere might be offended. Do you think political correctness has gone too far? The majority of Americans do.

However, nearly one in four of our countrymen think the country isn't sufficiently politically correct. We need to be even more careful about what we say to each other, lest someone is offended.

So, Juan Williams is wrong and is fired for thinking and saying "when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."

I feel the same way so I am also wrong and should not have the same thoughts?

**Update** - - In wake of NPR controversy, Fox News gives Juan Williams an expanded role

The cable news network signs the analyst to a new three-year contract for nearly $2 million. Meanwhile, conservative figures blast the public radio network NPR for it's response to Williams' comments about Muslims.

If Democrats Lose - Will It Be Obama's Fault?

If Dems lose, Obama will blame everyone but himself

Washington Examiner - Assume the polls are correct and Republicans win control of the House, and perhaps even the Senate, in next month's elections. What lessons will the White House learn? Will Barack Obama interpret the vote as a repudiation of much of his agenda, or will he conclude that he made a few tactical errors but was still right on the big issues?

Bet on the latter. All indications coming out of the White House suggest that if Democrats suffer major losses, the president and his top aides will resolutely refuse to reconsider the policies -- national health care, stimulus, runaway spending -- that led to their defeat. Instead, they will point fingers in virtually every direction other than their own. Come November, it's likely the D-for-Democrat that the president refers to so often will actually stand for "denial."

The White House has given us plenty of clues in recent days as to how Obama will react to a possible Democratic drubbing at the polls. Here are five:

1. Obama will blame voters, not himself.

2. Obama will spin the outcome as an illegitimate GOP victory.

3. Obama will blame a broken process.

4. Obama will reaffirm, not reconsider, his achievements.

5. Obama will resist real change inside the White House.

Tie all those threads together, and in the wake of a Republican victory in November you can virtually guarantee the White House will not concede that the president hurt himself by pushing an unpopular national health care program through Congress; by pushing nearly a trillion dollars in stimulus spending that failed to reduce unemployment as predicted; by pushing a costly cap-and-trade agenda; or by advocating any number of other initiatives that flew in the face of voter sentiments. - Read more > > >

Blog author's comments - Barack Hussein Obama will never fault himself for anything. Whatever goes wrong will always be the responsibility of someone else.

Of course his faithful followers are of the same mindset. This is the way the liberal mind functions; they are convinced they are always correct.

There are still many lefties who are quite sure that the debt and unemployment numbers we now have, are because of blunders by George W. Bush. They will not admit that Obama had anything to do with the creation of the current problems we now face.

Rasmussen Poll - Generic Congressional Ballot

Generic Congressional Ballot: Republicans 48%, Democrats 39%

rasmussen reports - Election Day is just two weeks away, and Republican candidates hold a nine-point lead over Democrats on the Generic Congressional Ballot for the week ending Sunday, October 17, 2010.

Forty-eight percent (48%) of respondents say they would vote for their district’s Republican congressional candidate, while 39% would opt for his or her Democratic opponent.

Even more worrisome for Democrats, however, is the finding that among the voters who are most closely following the midterm elections Republicans hold a 55% to 36% lead.

While the margin has varied somewhat from week-to-week, Republicans have been consistently ahead on the Generic Ballot for over a year, and their lead has run as high as 12 points and as low as three points. When Barack Obama first took office as president of the United States, the Democrats enjoyed a seven-point lead on the Generic Ballot.

Among voters not affiliated with either major party, Republicans hold a 17-point lead.

The Republican advantage comes from a number of factors. One is the fact that midterm elections typically feature an older electorate with a smaller share of minority voters. Additionally, in 2010, there is clearly an enthusiasm gap favoring the GOP.

The Generic Ballot results were much different during the last two election cycles when Democrats regularly had large leads. The two parties were very close through the spring of 2009, but in June, around the time Democrats began their campaign for health care reform, Republicans pulled ahead for good. - Read more > > >
Blog author's comments - Hopefully the polls are correct and the GOP can take back the House and make huge gains or possibly take the Senate.

The Democrats will be using everything in their 'war chest' in an attempt to save as many liberal seats as possible. So, don't think that a big win for the GOP is in the bag.

The election in two weeks is crucial for the GOP. I have mentioned many times, the GOP must win big in November. They need the power to stop Obama's agenda and to ramp up for 2012.

I believe that many 'lawmakers' within the GOP ranks will gain from this election, but they have not bought in to the Tea Party movement. I don't think they take it seriously but it is a force in this country.

If the Republicans control the house, compromise with the Democrats is unacceptable. Obama gets nothing. Do you ever see the Democrats compromise on anything?

Sarah Palin - Speech at GOP Anaheim Rally

Sarah Palin's Powerful Speech at GOP Anaheim Rally

Blog author's comments - Sarah Palin presented a very good speech. To me, she looks more presidential as the months pass.

The problem we now face is that President Obama, in less than two years, has taken us down a path that many of us don't want to go. Many of you may not realize it, but the election on November 2, 2010 and the election in 2012 are the most important elections any of you will have participated in during your lifetime.

It's up to us to chose where we want to go. Do we continue along the path we are now on, or do we change direction and attempt to right what has happened to our country?

I met Sarah Palin prior to the election in 2008. I was impressed with her, but I can tell that she is now much more comfortable, confident and in control when she speaks. She has improved dramatically.

Sarah Palin is a very good spokesperson for the GOP and has campaigned for many conservative candidates who are presently running for office. She has been and continues to be bashed by the left, but she has not let them stop her. If anything, she is a stronger, more professional person and more polished political figure because of it.

At this point in time, the more I listen to and watch her, I ask...who is out there fighting for and leading the GOP who is better than Palin?

Depending on how the midterm elections go, we shall see who emerges within a few months who can provide the leadership which the GOP needs in 2012.

There is some time before the 2012 election. But, the Republicans must have a victory in 2010. We have to take back some power in November, and use it to gain the voter confidence which will be needed to win in 2012 and take back our country.

Justice Samuel Alito - Doubts That He Will Attend Next State of the Union Address - Asked if he would attend the State of the Union address next year, after the TV cameras this year caught him objecting to President Obama’s denigration of the country’s highest court, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito said, “I doubt that I will be there in January.”

Delivering the Manhattan Institute’s prestigious Wriston Lecture on Wednesday evening, Alito noted that other justices, like the recently retired John Paul Stevens and current Justice Antonin Scalia “stopped the practice of attending State of the Union addresses, because they have become very political.”

Attendees of the black tie event in New York City told Newsmax that Alito complained of it being “very awkward” for the justices who attend the annual speech in the presence of the assembled members of both houses of Congress.

We have to sit there like the proverbial potted plant,” Alito said, and provoked howls of laughter from the crowd when he deadpanned that the justices who are “more disciplined refrain from manifesting any emotional opinion whatsoever.”

It was a self-deprecating remark; in January, as he sat near the podium during Obama’s speech in the Capitol, Justice Alito was affronted by the president’s charge that “the Supreme Court reversed a century of law that I believe will open the floodgates for special interests, including foreign corporations, to spend without limit in our elections.” - Read more > > >

Blog author' comments - At the SOTUA Justice Alito was apparently upset by what the president said.

"Videotape of the event shows Alito wincing, then apparently saying, “that’s simply not true.” - "Directly behind Alito, Senate Majority Whip Richard Durbin, D-Ill., and Senate Democratic Caucus vice chairman Charles Schumer, D-N.Y. the second and third ranking Democrats in the Senate, gleefully took to their feet and cheered as Alito and the five other justices in attendance remained seated, looking uncomfortably intimidated.”

This was of course the intent of President Barack Hussein Obama. The State of the Union address has always been political but the difference now is the current 'president' has no class. Justice Alito does not have to lower himself by sitting silently while Obama chastises the Justices. Hopefully Roberts and Thomas will also stay away.

Of course the wise Latina, Sonia Sotomayor will be sitting in the front row with Elena Kagan and Ginsburg, hanging on Obama's every word he reads from his teleprompter.

It is way past time for politeness and courtesy towards the liberals. When will the GOP wake up and acknowledge that the left is at war with us. Those who we vote for need to remember that and begin acting like it.

Healthcare Reform Will Cost Some Seniors

Medicare actuary: Reform will cost some seniors

Politico - A Medicare official concedes that seniors may have to dig deeper into their wallets next year thanks to the health care law.

The new analysis obtained by POLITICO finds the health care overhaul will result in increased out-of-pocket costs for seniors on Medicare Advantage plans.

Richard Foster, the actuary for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, also tells Senate Republicans that the overhaul will result in “less generous benefit packages” for Medicare Advantage plans next year. Foster is independent from the administration and non-partisan.

Democrats have long contended that Medicare Advantage plans – private insurance alternatives to Medicare – overpay private insurers, increasing premiums for everyone, and needs to be reformulated.

But Republicans say dramatic changes to the program mean some seniors won’t be able to keep their plans – a promise President Barack Obama made during the reform debate – and the GOP has made the issue part of its attempt to roll back the health law.

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, says the administration is trying to downplay the effects of the overhaul on the Medicare Advantage plans.- Read more > > >

Blog author's comments - Aw, no kidding! How can that be? They promised that if Obamacare was passed the cost would go down, didn’t they?

Oh, and by the way, sorry there will be no cost of living adjustment for you either. I know that food and energy costs are skyrocketing, but they don’t count those in their COLA equation any longer. They hope you will be understanding and can get through another year without any money.

Also as you should know by now it's George Bush’s fault. Just remember...Nancy Pelosi said, "We have to pass the bill, so we will know what is in it." They passed the bill but that did not seem to help.

Alvin Greene Interviewed by MSNBC

South Carolina Democrat Party Candidate

Alvin Greene of South Carolina surprised the nation when he won the South Carolina Democrat Party primary and will be facing Jim DeMint, the incumbent Republican US Senator from South Carolina in November.

Greene is unemployed, single and living at home with his father. Additionally, he is facing felony charges for sending pornography to a college student.

Every question from Lawrence O’Donnell to Greene elicited a mechanical response explaining how Jim DeMint caused the recession.

Despite his painfully bad interview with O’Donnell, Greene walked away with an endorsement from O’Donnell, who said that Greene was “still better than DeMint.”

Blog author's comments - When is the debate between Greene and Jim DeMint? It would be painful to watch. But, even at his most incoherent, Alvin Greene makes more sense than Nancy Pelosi.

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell thinks this guy would be better than Jim DeMint. What is amazing is that some people will vote for him!

Obama Now In Campaign Mode

Barack Hussein Obama - The 'Radical in Chief' on the campaign trail for the midterm election.

Obama and his fellow Democrats are definitely trying to stop some of the bleeding which should occur November 2. They will say and do whatever it takes to hold on to their power which they believe is 'rightfully theirs'.

It will be interesting to see what moves they come up with the last three weeks prior to the election. The following are a few examples of Obama in action.

Once again - all of the problems are the fault of the Bush
administration. "The Republicans messed up so bad, left such a big mess."

The voters are expected to believe Obama and the Democrats have done nothing to create the economic woes and high unemployment we now have.

Obama said the Republicans are counting on the Black Folks staying home. Is the 'Messiah' playing the race card?

The bogus drilling moratorium from the Obama Administration was set to expire on November 30th but it looks as if the White House will move it up before the November election.

NY Times - White House Is Lifting Ban on Deepwater Drilling

The Obama administration announced on Tuesday that it was immediately lifting a moratorium on deepwater drilling that was imposed after the BP oil spill, as new rules are put in place that are intended to prevent another disaster.

“We have made and continue to make significant progress in reducing the risks associated with deepwater drilling,” Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told reporters on a conference call early Tuesday afternoon.

Therefore, he said, “I have decided that it is now appropriate to lift the suspension on deepwater drilling for those operators that are able to clear the higher bar that we have set.”- Read more > > >
Blog author's comments - There will be some surprises from Obama and company between now and November 2.

You will see quite a lot of smoke and mirrors from the Dems to try to confuse the voters. They will also attempt to use fraudulent voting methods.

The 'teleprompter president' will do whatever it takes to protect his power.

Obama Losing Political War

Why Obama Is Losing the Political War

TIME - Barack Obama is being politically crushed in a vise. From above, by elite opinion about his competence. From below, by mass anger and anxiety over unemployment. And it is too late for him to do anything about this predicament until after November's elections.

With the exception of core Obama Administration loyalists, most politically engaged elites have reached the same conclusions: the White House is in over its head, isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless about how to get along with or persuade members of Congress, the media, the business community or working-class voters.

This view is held by Fox News pundits, executives and anchors at the major old-media outlets, reporters who cover the White House, Democratic and Republican congressional leaders and governors, many Democratic business people and lawyers who raised big money for Obama in 2008, and even some members of the Administration just beyond the inner circle.

And that sentiment is spreading. Many members of the general public appear deeply skeptical of Obama's capacity to turn things around, especially tens of millions of middle-class Americans, including quite a few who turned out for Obama in 2008. - Read more > > >

Less Sanity About Gun Control

More Gun Laws, Less Sanity About Gun Control

By Scott Spiegel
Every time a gun crime happens in this country, the mainstream media give it sensationalistic coverage, and liberals cover their mouths with their hands like little girls and then remove them and start howling about the necessity of even more gun control legislation than the historically high levels we have now.

As the just published third edition of John Lott’s classic More Guns, Less Crime exhaustively demonstrates, liberals are moving in exactly the wrong direction in their zeal to stop gun crime.

Lott’s central thesis is that (1) criminals are less likely to commit violent crimes if they know there are significant numbers of concealed carry permit holders with weapons, (2) gun restrictions make it harder for law-abiding citizens to obtain guns for self-defense, (3) gun restrictions have no effect on criminals’ intent or ability to obtain weapons, and (4) gun restrictions thus disarm only potential crime victims, whereas reduced gun restrictions arm citizens and frighten off criminals.

Lott supports his hypothesis via mountains of data analyzed at the national, state, and county level, looking at both overall rates of crimes and the more relevant changes in trends before and after permissive nondiscretionary laws are passed.

He examines multiple categories of crime including murder, rape, aggravated assault, and robbery. He shows that his results hold, both controlling and not controlling for every demographic variable under the sun, as well as unrelated but important crime rate indicators such as arrest rates, policing strategies, and national trends.

Lott notes the astonishing fact that loosening gun restrictions has had such a positive impact on reducing states’ crime rates over the last two decades that not a single state legislature has even scheduled a debate on repealing nondiscretionary gun laws once they have been passed. - Entire column

Blog author's comments - The column by Scott Spiegel, a review of John Lott's book "More Guns, Less Crime", provides a concise view of the content of his book and his defense of gun ownership and Concealed Carry Permits.

There is nothing for me to add except that I strongly agree with Mr. Lott. Gun owners and citizens who believe in the 2nd Amendment will forever be defending a subject that logically needs no defense.

Barack Obama Campaigning For Midterm Election

President Obama Implores Supporters, "Don't Make Me Look Bad" in Midterm Elections

It’s looking a bit grim for the 'Messiah' and his fellow Democrats. With the Midterm elections roughly three weeks away, Obama asked a crowd of supporters in Maryland to prove the pundits wrong.

Obama said to the crowd, “Don’t make me look bad.”

As usual, it's always about Obama. Actually, he’s right – it is about him and his failed leftist policies and agenda for the country.

On November 2, the voters are going to let Obama and the Democrats know just what they think of the "change" he has brought to America.

Blog author's comments - Republicans can be upbeat about the midterm elections, but if they should win big, this is only the beginning of a possible comeback for the GOP.

As I have mentioned before, let us hope they have already formulated a plan which will help the economy and attempt to stop some of the wasteful spending the Democrats have in place.

They need to keep whatever momentum they now have through the 2012 presidential election. If not, they could find themselves back where they were in 2008. We want to see the conservative leaders step forward. At this time there are few.

The GOP has to show voters they can begin to turn the economy around and give the people the hope they need that more jobs can be created within the private sector.

If the Republicans gain some power there is much work to do - with the main goal to win in 2012.

Dead People Receive Stimulus Payments

72,000 Stimulus Payments Went to Dead People

Associated Press
WASHINGTON — More than 89,000 stimulus payments of $250 each went to people who were either dead or in prison, a government investigator says in a new report.

The payments, which were part of last year's massive economic recovery package, were meant to increase consumer spending to help stimulate the economy.

But about $18 million went to nearly 72,000 people who were dead, according to the report by the Social Security Administration's inspector general. The report estimates that a little more than half of those payments were returned.

An additional $4.3 million went to more than 17,000 prison inmates, the report said.
Most of the inmates, it turns out, were eligible to get the payments because they were newly incarcerated and had been receiving Social Security before they were locked up.

In all, the $250 payments were sent to about 52 million people who receive either Social Security or Supplemental Security Income, at a cost of about $13 billion. Other federal retirees also received the payments, but they were not part of the inspector general's review.

The inspector general for the Social Security Administration has been performing an audit to make sure no checks went to ineligible recipients. The latest report was dated Sept. 24 but was just recently posted to the agency's website.

People were eligible for payments if they were getting benefits during any one of the three months before the law was passed in February 2009.

Dead people were ineligible to get the payments. But, the report said, there is no provision in the law to recover payments incorrectly sent to dead people.

"Based on the failure of the SSA to properly check its records, and Congress' failure to fully think through the provisions needed to govern these payments, SSA lost $22.3 million in American tax dollars," said Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla. "These findings are yet another example of congressional stupidity and a lack of accountability."

The Social Security Administration said that despite tight deadlines, workers accurately processed more than 99.8 percent of the 52 million stimulus payments.

"We worked with Treasury, developed new processes, and began issuing (payments) about 30 days earlier than the legislatively mandated deadline," the agency said in a written response included in the inspector general's report. "This was a major accomplishment for our agency."

Blog author's comments - Is anyone really surprised that this would happen with the Obama administration in control of our tax dollars? The number of bogus stimulus payments was no doubt understated.

Will anyone ever know where all the 'stimulus' money has gone? This was the spending bill that according to Obama had to be passed to save us from another great depression.

If the midterm election is not a landslide for the Republican Party I don't know what it will take for the voters to understand what is happening to our country.

It is difficult for me to believe that there are still many people who will continue to support Obama and the Democrats.

Stop The Liberal Bias, Tell The Truth

Trucks Encircle ABC, CBS, NBC, and the New York Times, Challenge 'Liberal' Media to 'Tell The Truth' - Four billboard trucks bearing the message "Stop the Liberal Bias, Tell the Truth!" began circling the Manhattan headquarters of ABC, CBS, NBC, and the New York Times on Friday. The trucks will do so for eight hours every weekday for the next four weeks as part of a campaign run by the Media Research Center, a watchdog group that analyzes the media for liberal bias.

Similar trucks also are operating in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, passing the offices of the broadcast networks, the Washington Post, CNN, the Newseum, the National Press Club and Politico, and ads about the campaign are running on numerous Web sites and on conservative talk radio programs.

L. Brent Bozell III, president of the Media Research Center (MRC), the parent organization of, said the goal of this 2010 “Tell the Truth!” campaign "is simple: to force the liberals in the media to stop pushing an agenda and just tell the truth."

The "liberal media news networks" need to report the facts about "massive growth in government and its control over our lives, and about spending, deficits and debt," he told "They also need to tell the truth about the efforts to turn our country into a European-style Socialist state." - Entire column

Blog author's comments - I doubt that this will change the way the liberal media presents their so called 'news' but the Media Research Center has taken some action.

We shall see how long it takes before a liberal judge will tell the MRC that they cannot do this.

To quote L. Brent Bozell: In 2008, the goal of the "liberal media” was "to elect Barack Obama by any means possible, and they just created a narrative that was simply not true."

"What do you think would have been the reaction of the American people if, on Election Day, they’d gone to the polls knowing that in electing Barack Obama, they were electing the single most radical socialist in the history of this country? I submit to you, he never would have been elected. That’s the power of the media."

The Politically Correct Trio

Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton & the Main Stream Media

According to the above 'race baiters', if anyone disagrees with the agenda and policies of Barack Hussein Obama you are labeled a 'Racist'.

The race baiters believe the only reason many people do not accept whatever the Obama regime does, is because Obama is a black man. They agree with him, why don't we?

(Zoom - Click Image)

Blog author's comments - Not much more to add concerning the Rev. Jackson, Rev. Sharpton or the MSM.

I don't believe they actually fool anyone with what they say, except for those who do think it is the fault of someone other than themselves for their financial problems.

I do believe they knowingly instill more hatred and racism between the races which the country does not want or need.

The 'trio' is quite aware of what they are doing and will continue to do it. Most of us can decide for ourselves about government policy, the way our government is run and how our tax dollars should be spent.

I do not need nor want any liberal telling me how I should think or vote.

One Nation Rally - 10/2/2010

"One Nation" Organizers: Hey, Our Rally Was Just as Big as Beck’s... Picture Evidence: Wrong, no Comparison!

From August 31, 2010: After Beck Rally, MSNBC's Ed Schultz "Guaranteed" He Could Draw "More Than 300,000 People."

The Glenn Beck Restoring Honor Rally vs. the One Nation Rally shown in Two Pictures.

The bottom picture is what The Washington Post called "Tens of thousands attend progressive 'One Nation Working Together' rally in Washington."

(Zoom - Click Image)

Blog author's comments - Check out the two photos - Beck's Restoring Honor rally vs. the One Nation rally. The liberals failed again.

You get the point; Beck’s rally was much bigger. Quite a feat considering all the so-called support the One Nation rally received from the NAACP and labor unions from the Communication Workers of America to the American Federation of Teachers to the SEIU.

Beck’s supporters were also tidier. Much was made following the 8/28 rally about how clean attendees had left the National Mall. So perhaps you will not be surprised to hear that the 'One Nation' rally goers left it a total mess.

Ed Schultz, I don't believe the One Nation Rally met your expectations.

Obama Compares His Socialist Agenda to Slaves, Sitting Around a Fire Singing Freedom Songs

Yeah, those college kids sure could relate to this…

Obama told a group of college kids in Wisconsin that his hopey-changey socialist agenda is like the old days when slaves would sit around a fire singing freedom songs.

Oh brother. In every instance, progress took time. In every instance, progress took sacrifice. Progress took faith. You know, the slaves sitting around a fire singing freedom songs, they weren’t sure when slavery would end but they understood it was going to end. When women were out there marching for the right to vote, they weren’t sure when it was going to happen but they kept on going.

When workers were organizing for the right to organize and were being intimidated, they weren’t sure when change was going to come but they knew it was going to come. And I am telling you, Wisconsin, we are bringing about change and progress is going to come — but you’ve got to stick with me. You can’t lose heart. Change is going to come.

Yup. Change is coming in 30 days, Barack…a change in Congressional leadership.

Blog author's comments - Obama talked about change in the video and I certainly hope it arrives with the midterm elections. The Obama Administration presently has America on a high speed ride to disaster.

(Zoom - Click Image)
Except for the hard core left - I believe the majority of voters are ready for Obama's 'Hope & Change' to end. Let's all give it a huge push in that direction November 2, 2010, and dump this pathetic president in 2012.

Bobby Cox, To Retire as Manager of Atlanta Braves

Thanks, Bobby!

American Spectator
By Aaron Goldstein

I have been watching baseball games for a very long time. To give you an idea of how long when I started out watching baseball Bobby Cox was one of the youngest managers in the game. Now, at 69, he is nearly the oldest.

And unless the Atlanta Braves win the National League Wild Card spot this will be Cox's final week managing major league baseball games.

Yet even if the Braves are unable to reach the post-season it will have been a remarkable career for Cox, who has managed in the big leagues for thirty seasons. Over the weekend, Cox reached a milestone by winning his 2,500th regular season game as a major league manager. The Braves 5-0 victory over the Washington Nationals on Saturday made Cox only the fourth big league manager to reach that mark. Only St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa, John McGraw, and Connie Mack have guided their teams to more victories.

When Cox was hired to manage the Braves at the age of 37 his contemporaries at the time included a veritable who's who of managers -- Earl Weaver, Whitey Herzog, Gene Mauch, Dick Williams, Sparky Anderson, Tommy Lasorda and Billy Martin (under whom Cox had served as a first base coach on the 1977 World Series champion New York Yankees). All of these skippers (save for Martin and Mauch) have been inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Who in 1978 could have predicted that Cox would finish with more wins as a major league manager than these baseball legends?

Well, they certainly could not have predicted it by the end of the 1981 season. The Braves fired Cox after four years with only one winning season to show for it. But despite not winning, Cox did develop a reputation of being able to work with young players. The careers of players like Bob Horner and Dale Murphy blossomed under him. Indeed, it was Cox's idea to move Murphy to the outfield after struggling as a catcher and at first base. Murphy put it succinctly in a 2004 interview when he said, "Well, Bobby Cox saved my career."

No doubt it was this ability to work with young players that caught the attention of the Toronto Blue Jays, who would hire Cox as their manager in 1982. The Blue Jays, an expansion team that came into the American League in 1977, had been finished last in the AL East in each of their first five seasons. Cox helped the Jays get off the ground almost immediately. By 1983, the team would enjoy its first winning season.

In 1985, Cox's work would pay off as the Blue Jays would win their first AL East divisional title, clinching on the next to last day of the season after a tough battle with the Yankees who were once again being managed by his old friend Billy Martin. That Blue Jays team included the likes of Dave Stieb, George Bell, Lloyd Moseby, Jesse Barfield, Tony Fernandez and Tom Henke. The Jays would nearly reach the World Series that year but blew a three game to one lead in the American League Championship Series against the Kansas City Royals.

To the surprise of many, Cox returned to the Braves the following season after they offered him the position of general manager. Cox jumped at this second chance in Atlanta even if it wasn't under the most ideal circumstances. The Braves were a moribund team and he faced the unenviable task of rebuilding from the ground up. It was so slow going. From 1986 to 1990, the Braves finished either in last place or next to last in the NL West. But during this time, Cox would trade for prospects like John Smoltz and draft the likes of Chipper Jones.

The Braves finally won the World Series in 1995 in six games over the Cleveland Indians. While some have criticized Cox for winning only one World Series, he did take the Braves to fourteen consecutive post-season appearances between 1991 and 2005(save for the strike shortened season of 1994), including World Series appearances in the 1990s. It's a record unlikely to be broken.

Another Cox record that will likely stand was his propensity for being ejected from the game by umpires. In all, Cox has been tossed 158 times in his career (and there's still a few games to go!). That's nearly a season's worth of early showers.
It would be great for baseball to see Bobby Cox manage one last October. . . Entire column

Blog author's comments - It has been good watching the Braves with Bobby Cox as manager for many years. He has accomplished a great deal for the Braves, himself and MLB. He is still waiting for the one retirement gift he wants most of all - one last trip to the postseason. It's a gift that could keep him in the dugout a few weeks longer.

The regular season ends Sunday, October 3, but Cox obviously has big postseason plans for the Braves. Atlanta leads the race for the NL wild-card berth and Cox said another playoff run would be the perfect ending.

During his quarter-century with the Braves he led them to a run of 14 straight division titles beginning in 1991, including the 1995 World Series title. Cox said adding one more postseason appearance to the collection of pennants on the Turner Field facade would mean "a lot."

"Win or lose, we've had a great year, but we're in this to win and one more up there would be great for the organization and would be a great way to go out in retirement," he said. "We're trying to give it everything we've got right now." The Braves open a season-ending three-game series with Philadelphia on Friday October 1.

Good luck for the 'wild-card' spot Bobby and the best to you during your retirement. I would imagine you can question the umpires calls whenever you feel it is necessary this weekend. I can't imagine any of them would want to toss you out of any of your last three regular season games.

Obama - Destroying Our Country From Within

Wayne Allyn Root: Obama's agenda - Overwhelm the system

Las Vegas Review-Journal
Rahm Emanuel cynically said, "You never want a crisis to go to waste." It is now becoming clear that the crisis he was referring to is Barack Obama's presidency.

Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent. To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing. He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure, economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and our country from within.

Barack Obama is my college classmate (Columbia University, class of '83). As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Obama is following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbia University.

They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system with government spending and entitlement demands. Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming.

Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted on to always vote for bigger government. Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

-- Universal health care. The health care bill had very little to do with health care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions). Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans will add trillions to the national debt. What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government. Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill in the middle of a depression?

--Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming. It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors. Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants. They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power. The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars, bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

--Legalize 12 million illegal immigrants. Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America. But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted on to support big government. Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children, food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and eventually Social Security.

--Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go? It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country. It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could keep paying union dues. It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out (after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions). A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues). All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America. The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.- Continue reading entire column

Blog author's comments - When you look at what the Obama Regime has already done to America, one can agree with what is said in the above column.

I have been convinced for quite a while that Obama knows exactly what he is doing. He has a plan to remake America into what he perceives it should be, and he will destroy what we now have to do so.

This is not difficult to comprehend. The bigger the government, the more people he has depending on it to care for them which equates to more Democrat Party votes. He will also if allowed, eventually grant amnesty to the illegals in the country. This will provide more votes for his party.

November 2, 2010 will be the most important election you will participate in, thus far in your lifetime. Obama has to be stopped, that's the answer now for the salvation of the country.

The GOP has to have some power before they can begin the 'heavy lifting' to put the country on a course of recovery. Go to the polls and rid the government of as many Democrats and RINO's as possible.

To Obama, the U.S. is fundamentally unjust and needs to be put in its place. You can let Obama and the Democrats know that you do not agree and will not let this happen.
